Iphone5 problem - music from iTunes won't go onto phone

MY PROBLEM:
got the iphone 5 yesterday and when i connect my iphone to itunes in the capacity bar it seems to say 5.9gb of music is on my phone after ive synced it etc when i check my phone though it says ive no songs in my music library.
I bought a song on itunes on the app on my phone to see if that would atleat go into my music library and that wont either.
When i go into about it says I have 0 songs so they are obviously not hidden anywhere but they just wont go on either
Im scared this is a software problem and when i read apples warranty it said software problems are not covered even though my phones a day old and i got it for my birthday:(:(
Tried restoring phone too and it wouldnt let me restore it, it said it had to download one iphone update before it could restore and just at the end of the iphone update every time i tried the update failed so i cant even restore my phone
Any suggestions? 50 mins on the phone to apple and they werent much help
*using iphone 5 ios 6 and 10.7 itunes
*some songs on my laptop from cds/illegal downloads others downloaded from itunes NONE will go on phone

I have the same problem, when I try to sync it starts off fine (connected via USB) and after a few seconds it ejects the phone and then tells me off for disconnecting it without doing it properly.  Phone works fine by itself but will not sync - this is just part of a whole host of problems I'm getting with iTunes though so I've pretty much moved onto Spotify with teh premium package as that actually works!
Will try the restart as suggested though!

  • Re-downloaded music from itunes won't play

I purchased a couple of songs from itunes music store that didn't download properly because my computer overheated and switched itself off during download. On restart, the downloads didn't continue and checking purchases said that all songs had been downloaded when they hadn't. I reported problems with the downloads to apple support and they added the songs back to my account - all I had to do was check purchases again and they started downloading.
HOWEVER; now the downloads are complete, I try playing the first one and it doesn't play - just immediately jumps to the next new song which plays 3-4 seconds siliently then jumps to the next track I downloaded successfully and starts playing normally, like everything else in my collection.
The two tracks are indicating the correct duration, and the second one plays the second half of the song if you play it, quickly pause it, and move the playhead slider along to about halfway through the song. It will then play the remainder but the first song doesn't even give enough time to hit pause after attempting playback.
It's a coincidence that the two songs that i have re-downloaded are the ones that don't play at all. Does anyone know why? I've tried reporting the problem again but itunes says that as I have already previously reported a problem with those two tracks that I can't report another problem... crazy.
Thanks in advance if anyone can help me.

Reply to one of the original emails and tell them the re-download didn't work.
Don't report it as a new problem. Give them the URL to this discussion topic.

  • Can't reload music from iTunes on PC back onto iPhone 4S

Recently I got my iPhone 4S replaced, and I had backed it up/synced it to iTunes on my PC the night before. I was able to get back everything except my old messages, Photos on my camera roll, and music.
I'm not worried about my photos or old messages, but the mussic has me worried. I tried syncing it again to iTunes on my PC after a couple weeks, but that didn't get it back on my phone. All of my songs are on iTunes, they just wont't go onto my phone!
    Help!!

    Hello maddie87
I would make sure that either you have the music that you want selected or select manually manage music and the drag the music to the device. Check out the article below for more information.

  • Music from Itunes wont come to my phone.

So, to make the story short - I have done this 10000 times before(windows7). Now that I have upgraded to Windows 8, I needed to REINSTALL itunes and I got a new version? i guess. Now, my phone is still on 5.1 Because of jailbreak. I got the music on the right place in Itunes, before i could just transfer them to my playlist and sync, then everything was done. Now I cant even find my playlist on Itunes, anyways. When I choose my music to transfer to my phone - > playlist, I cant even see my song on the phone. Im sure i checked right , because I transfered 5 songs with SAME artist, not a big chance to miss that.
Now some of my friends said, if you update itunes, u need to update ur phone ALSO, is this correct?

  • TS1593 How do I get existing music from itunes onto my new Ipod touch?

How do I get my existing music from itunes on my computer onto my new ipod touch?
Itunes recognizes the new device, but when I try to sync it up, it says sync is complete, but no music shows up on the ipod. Itunes is the latest versioin (11.0.04)
(I suspect it has something to do with my having an older ipod nano. The older Ipod nano does sync up ok).

It has nothing to do with the nano. I suspect that yo do not have the right setting checked to sync the media you want to sync, See:
iTunes: Syncing media content to iOS devices and iPodWas the iPod touch previous synced to another computer/iTunes library? In that case yo can only use the manual method of syncing discussed in the article. If yo use the automatic method the media from the iPod will be erased \. I thin you are using the manual method but the songs are not checked to to sync.

  • IPad (4th Gen Retina Display Wi-Fi) (iOS 7.0.4) won't sync new music from iTunes (Windows).  Only solution found was to uncheck "Sync Music" under Music tab, apply, then recheck "Sync Music" and apply. Any other solution?

iPad (Retina Display) (iOS 7.0.4) won't sync new music from iTunes (Windows).  Only solution found was to uncheck "Sync Music" under Music tab, apply, then recheck "Sync Music" and apply.  This is timely and aggravating.  Any other solution?
I have also tried a hard reset.  I have also gone into settings and checked "display all music".
Anyone know if the new update will have solutions to this problem?

    Successful experience with Apple Care.
If anyone is having the same problem, there's a chance it's an issue with the Mobile Device Manager for iTunes. The key is to ditch the old/corrupt file and replace it via clean iTunes installation.
Here's the fix that worked for me:
    1. Trash iTunes (uninstall); don't forget to trash it from your dock if you have it there.
    2. Head to /System/Library/Extensions/ and trash file AppleMobileDevice.kext
    3. Head to /Library/Receipts/ and trash AppleMobileDeviceSupport.pkg  ( * this may or may not be there * )
    4. Restart computer (& empty trash)
    5. Download fresh & clean iTunes and reinstall.
Voila! The content is now properly recognized by iTunes, the capacity bar registers the correct amount and type beyond "Other", and now I can put music back on the iPad.

    Hello Sandy
You can transfer the purchases from your iPhone to your new computer by following the steps in following article.

If you have music that was not purchased from the iTunes Store, then you will not be able to move it from the iPhone to your computer. Instead you will need to follow the steps in this article that helps with moving the library from the old to the new.

  • Problem with trasferring music from itunes to Iphone 3Gs.

    Hi
I have a problem with trasferring music from Itunes to Iphone and that is,
as soon as I finish transferring music to my Iphone, Itunes suddenly stops at the stage of where it says (at the top-centre of the screen), 'Sync Min's Iphone'.
Due to this reason, I've restored my Iphone a couple of times and reinstalled itunes but same problem occurs whenever I try to transfer music.
It appears music are successfully transfered since I could play the music on my Iphone but I wanna fix the problem since it's pretty annoying.
is there anything I can do about it?
    Thanks

Make sure you have the latest version of iTunes (8.2.1?). If so, I'd reinstall iTunes, if the phone is otherwise working fine.

It should ne in itunes on your computer and included in your regular backup of your computer.
If for some reason you have failed to backup your music, then - in the U.S only - you can get previous itunes purchases from the beta version of icloud.  Open itunes store, click Purchased, under Quick Links.

When you are viewing the tracks on the hard disc, did you then click on "Import CD"?  This is needed to initiate the importing process that will add the tracks to your library.

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.

  • IPod won't play purchased music from iTunes

I cannot figure out why my iPod mini skips over purchased music from iTunes. I looked at the files and they are .mp4 & there is a little lock symbol on the file. Someone help! I have already dowloaded the latest updates and nothing has changed...

I have the same problem as others mentioned here. I just updated my mini to 1.4, and iTunes to 6.0. Just purchased an album and went to play it and all the songs were just skipped over by my mini. Then checked and the same happens for all purchased music.
I then check in iTunes and everything plays fine there. Then uploaded the songs to my 40GB and everything plays fine on the 40GB. I recently updated the 40GB to the latest firmware as well.
The mini plays all other music just fine.

  • Nano won't play purchased music from iTunes 6!

Is there anyone else that is having problems playing purchased music from iTunes 6 on your iPod? My 4GB iPod nano is not playing (i.e. skipping over) songs that I have purchased AFTER I upgraded to iTunes 6. My iPod software is up-to-date and I tried resetting the iPod, but neither helped. Any suggestions? Thanks for any help.
    -Ben Powell

From what I've read, resetting your nano erases the music, etc. from your nano, putting the software back to its original state.
This really has to s*ck, but if it works, its good that you can fix it that way. It does, however, make a great real life case for backing up your music.
I've been using software (no I don't work for them) called e-backup for my email. I have receipts and other email from 2002! But, the point: it allows you to backup other folders/files. I included my music as an option yesterday because I remember losing term papers, etc. that I didn't backup to floppy or disk. Just in case!
