Iphone5 stuck How to backup data before rebooting?

iphone5 got stuck and asks to restart phone through itunes. How do I backup photos and contacts before rebooting device?

The alternative is using Ovi Suite. Did you try the latest version of Ovi Suite from here?
The N8 also has the capability to sync online or applications such as Outlook on your pc but I believe they only sync contacts and calender. I have no experience of this as I only backup to pc and memory card. I don't trust anyone else with my data.

  • How to backup data when hard drive is failing.

I think my hard drive is failing..
I booted using Install DVD, and got message in Disc Utility that "this drive has a hardware problem that can't be repaired." It mentioned I should backup data and consult apple representative..
I clicked on Macintosh HD under the red physical drive (500.11 GB Hitachi HTS) and did disc repair.
Strangely, the message went away on the physical drive when I finished.  It turned back to black wording and gave green "verified/repaired" messages in the log.
I am still able to boot my macbook, although everything is running slowly... Desktop excel files take 15 mins to open.
Does this still sound like a failing hard drive?
I am trying to act fast and borrowed my sister's external harddrive/ "passport for mac", and it slowly prompted a time machine backup. It is slowly working through "8.34GB of 200.33GB"
I do not really understand what I am doing, but hoping this is the right move. Could someone explain what time machine will do or how it will help?
Is there any chance I will harm her external hd?
I am mostly worried about iPhoto and itunes library, iMovie projects, and important excel spreadsheets on my desktop. Is time machine looking after these concerns?
    Any help greatly appreciated.

    Where is you TM backup?
Where are your external data redundancies?
Now you will need to use very expensive data recovery experts to recover data when you could have had it safely on a $100 worth of 2 external HD.
Mechanical HD failure circumvents using recovery software.......so,  now you backed yourself into a corner and needed expensive data expert recovery.
You took a wrong turn a long while back before reaching this cliff edge.
that wrong term was not having (preferably 2) external HD as a redundant data archive.

  • How to backup library before an iTunes reinstallation

I run Vista, and I happened to have the problem of my CD/DVD drive disappearing on me. I googled it, figured out how to fix it by deleting a couple registry items and restarting, and it started working again. Only thing is, right after that every time I open iTunes I now get a message saying iTunes can no longer import CD's because something got changed, please reinstall. I kept ignoring it, and now iTunes won't even open up. So my question is, how can I for back up my iTunes library before uninstalling, so I won't have to manually import every song file. I have multiple copies of some songs and I don't want those back in the library after reinstalling. Also, after that how would I go about reimporting my old library?
    Thank you.

External drives (for backing up) are less than $100.
    Backup software will run automatically.
If everything on your computer disappeared right now or you r hard drive died and it would not affect/bother you in the least, you could get by without a backup.
But since you are here asking how to backup some files...
I highly suggest you consider it.

  • New HD for MacBook... How To Backup Data?

I just bought a 160gb Hitachi drive from OWC for my MacBook. Can anyone give me step by step directions on how to backup my current drive and how do I migrate this data on the new HD? I know how to physically install it but I want to make sure I back it up alright. I've heard about using SuperDuper, but what do I do with that program and how do I migrate?
    Thanks
    -B-

No, I don't have 2 gigs of RAM but as soon as I get the money I will upgrade from OWC! I have found that website (http://www.macsales.com) to be very reliable, quick and they have the lowest prices out there for the highest quality of products.
I searched around the internet to find out which was the best HD to get and what speeds, etc, and I found most went with Hitachi's 160G Travelstar drive. I know I read about many people having issues with Western Digital's model (sudden motion sensor, kernel panics, etc) so even though it was cheaper I knew that was the wrong way to go just by reading people's comments online. I suggest everyone else do the same thing. Do your research, both online and off, and find out what most people are having successes with (and asking on this board is what helped me, too!)
Once I get my increased RAM, then we will officially be twins. lol.
    Thanks for your response...
I'm lovin this new drive. I've got my 40 gigs of music on here, my 10,000 photos, all my apps, and I still have like 85 gigs left. Shweet! With the stock 80gb drive, I was already in my teens in HD space!

  • How to backup data from a bad partition?

    Hi,
My HDD in my Macbook Pro crashed due to a frequent uncontrollable on and off, I tried to boot into recovery mode but it won't let me mount the drive so that I can't repair permission, and I also fail to repair the disk neither not even target disk mode to another mac. So I assume my HDD is totally screwed for now, so are there any way to backup any data from this screwed HDD?
    Thank you so very much!
    Jeffero.

You can always try - but there's no guarantee of success.
Which model (e.g., "15" late 2011") MacBook Pro do you have? Need that info...
The first thing that you'll need to do, of course, is buy a new hard drive and install it. Decide on what speed (5400rpm or 7200rpm) you want and then how much space you need.
The second thing is to buy an enclosure for your 'old' HD - I have a number of these from OWC.
The third thing - formatting and installing a working OS on your new hard drive will depend on which model MacBook Pro you have.
Fourth thing - to try to recover data yourself, you're just going to have to pony up $100 and purchase DiskWarrior: now I've never used it - I have tested Data Rescue 3 on undamaged drives with great success -  but I think that in your case DiskWarrior would be the better product. Don't be surprised if it doesn't work - it just offers you the 'best chance' to rescue data.
Once you have your new hard drive installed and bootable, connect your old drive (now in an enclosure) and use DiskWarrior to try rescuing some data. As I said, there's no guarantee here but it's the first thing to try before spending $1000 or so at a data rescue specialist.
    Good luck,
    Clinton

  • HT4061 didn't backup data before upgrade

    Hello,
I tried to upgrade my iPad software but didn't backup the iPad data (i.e. photos, songs, etc.). I had not connected the iPad to iTune and didn't back it up before starting the upgrade.
After the update, my iPads tells me that connect it to iTune. When I connect the iPad to iTune on my laptop, I get a message indicating that my iPad is in the recovery mode & I must restore to factory setting and that I will lose all data.
Can anyone please tell me how can I save my iPad data?
    Thanks,

Back up first if you're able.  Otherwise, consider it a lesson learned.

  • How to populate data before displaying jsp in JSF ?

I have the following situation :
In my app, i have a couple of left-navigation menus, when i click on one of them, i need to show some history data. So, i first need to call a managed bean on click of the link, fetch data and forward to history jsp page.
How do call the managed bean directly (like struts action page) before going to JSP first ? Whenever i give a link to "something.faces", it goes to the jsp directly ?

There are two solutions on my mind. The first is to use the Shale ViewController where you got prerender() method and in it you could fetch the data. The second solution is to fetch the data in the getter method of your property but remember that the getter method could be invoked more than once per request so putting expencive code in it could be dangerous. Use singleton instance of the fetched property, something like:
    getMyProperty() {
    if (myProperty == null) {
    .... fetch the data
    return myProperty;
    }

  • How to backup data in table?

    hi friends,
How do I backup 1500 rows of data in products table in a database
DB1? (the last column is varbinary type for images)
How do I insert backed up 1500 rows of data in to the products
table (this one has 5 more columns)table in database DB2?
note: DB1.Products table has only 6 columns but DB2.Products table has added 5 columns thus a total of 11
note: I need to backup only the data (if possible) and insert them to the new table
I use sQL server 2008 r2 developer edition
    thanks
I use Visual studio 2012 Ultimate and SQL server 2008 developer edition!

Assuming both databases are on the same server...
    First backup the data...
    Select *
    Into products_bkp
    FROM products
    --WHERE (if any filter condition)
Insert the data into another database.
    USE DB2
    GO
    INSERT INTO products(column_names)
    SELECT column_Names
    FROM DB1.schemaname.products_bkp

  • Backup Data before ICS update!

I know the ICS for Live with Walkman is just around the corner(in India) so I was thinking on how to completely backup app data not merely the apks but all app data for eg;- I dont want to loose my progress in some games .
So please help me backup my app data.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

There is an article which gives some advice on backup...
    http://talk.sonymobile.com/message/154664#154664
It applies to Xperia phones but also includes Live with Walkman.
There is no built-in backup app on Gingerbread so it recommends apps like MyBackup.
I personally would back up all data from SD on to PC, this is because many apps store settings/scores etc... on the phone SD card.
And for the phone memory, where most apps are installed, you could use MyBackup.
The issue is that some of the apps you have now may not be compatible for ICS, therefore they may not work or may need updating. It would make sense to make a list of all the installed 3rd party apps and then just install ICS and start fresh.

Hi and Welcome to the Forums!
If I understand you correctly, you performed some sort of update that wiped out your data on your BB, and you did not perform a backup prior to doing that. As such, there is no way to get your data back.
    Good luck!

  • HT1414 tooggling power loop - how to backup data

My phone is toggling in a power loop between the apple icon (what you get when you shut it down) and the lock screen. I downloaded icloud on my computer to tried and backup all my data, videos, etc. I don't think I have the icloud app installed on my phone and now can't get into it to add it. Is there any way to recover my data? From what I've read, i'll have to do a factory reset.

    Hello Kim,
Thank you for providing the details of the issue you are experiencing with your iPhone.  I understand how important it is to keep the data on your iPhone.  Have you attempted to back up your iPhone using iTunes?
The following article has steps to back up your iPhone using iTunes.  I recommend resetting your iPhone as described in the steps below and then trying to create a backup with iTunes using the steps in this article:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1766
Once you have created a backup, I recommend continuing with steps 4-6:
If a single application is not responding or stops responding when it opens, you can force it to close.
If the device is unresponsive or if certain controls aren't working as expected, restart your device.
If the device remains unresponsive or does not turn on (or power on),reset your device.
If there is no video or if the screen remains black, verify that the device has enough charge to turn on:
If you are using an iPad, ensure that it's connected to the USB Power Adapter supplied with the device.
Let charge for at least twenty minutes, then see if it starts normally.
If there is no image on the screen, press the Sleep/Wake button to attempt to wake the device.
If the screen displays a red battery icon, continue charging the device until the battery is fully charged.
If the above steps do not resolve the issue, or the if the screen remains black or shows a persistent Apple logo, try restoring with iTunes:
Connect the device to your computer and open iTunes.
If the device appears in iTunes, select and click Restore on the Summary pane. Learn more about restoring iOS software.
If the device doesn't appear in iTunes, try to force the device into recovery mode, and then restore it.
If the above steps do not resolve the issue, contact Apple.
