Iphone5 weather app constantly shows wrong time

Can anyone help me out with this?

Have not experienced the same and there is nothing in settings for this. All data with the included weather app is provided by Yahoo.

  • Its 37* in my city, yet weather app icon shows 73*?

I just changed the weather app finally to my actual city.
    I also restarted my phone
But for some reason, the weather app icon shows 73* instead of the actual temp
Why and how do I get the icon to reflect the actual temp?

There are a lot more variables in displaying the current date from one calendar in Leopard than there are in having the icon change in the Weather app. Which city is the icon going to display? Is it going to change as the temperature in that city changes (which means it will have to run in the background)?
Yes, it would need to run in the background - but since it's an Apple-provided app, they can certainly implement that if they choose.
Logically it would show the current temp in the last-viewed city (i.e. the one that comes up when you actually launch the app).
You're right about there being more to the issue, though - for example, the next logical step is a modified app icon based on current conditions (cloudy, raining, etc.).
On the bright side, as a former San Diego resident...sunny and 73° was accurate a remarkably large proportion of the time...much more so than the 0.27% annual accuracy of the Jul 17 iCal date!

  • Apple Weather app temps way wrong

In Melbourne the apple weather app is often quite a few degrees off. The Yahoo! link takes me to weather.com which shows quite a discrepancy with Yahoo!'s own weather reading. Yahoo! is in line with the local Bureau of Meteorology. Today the temp is out by 5*C or 9*F.
Have contacted weather.com, Yahoo! Weather, but don't expect any resolution. Tricky when there are so many parties involved. Might have to mail sjobs. Though think pointless.
See image of discrepancy. Very frustrating.... Obviously a little too much time on my hands...

The reason for the problematic weather prediction in Apple is simple and disturbing at the same time.
    1. Traditionally Apple gets its weather data from Yahoo! they do so regardless to the fact that Yahoo is not a weather company, this arrangement has historical reasons (and it has nothing to do with the accuracy or quality of service you as a user are getting from Apple weather).
    2. Yahoo! (not a weather company) gets its weather data from the Weather Channel.
    3. Weather Channel CEO (David Kenny) also serves as Yahoo board member. So good luck changing the Weather Channel Yahoo agreement.
    4. The iPhone build in weather app is one of the world most popular apps, The Weather Channel has no incentive to make the Apple weather app as accurate as The Weather Channel own app.
The result is – easy to use inaccurate weather app

  • Weather App Temp is Wrong

My current temperature on my Weather app has been stuck at 32 for at least a week (which is not correct).  The hourly is correct for the rest of the day but the current is always at 32.  Since Siri and the summery screen link to this it's all wrong.  I downloaded the Yahoo wather, it's wrong also.  The weather channel app works fine but I would like the weather app that I cannot delete to be correct.  Any suggestions?  or who I can contact to get this fixed?

The same thing is happening to me: current temp frozen (so to speak) at 32 for the past week. Hourly temps are correct. This is only a problem for my home city (Murfreesboro, TN). All other cities have various current temps, which I assume are also correct. I have deleted my city and added it, restarted the phone, tried all this with location services off and on etc. but no change. This happened once before but it only lasted a day. Going into week two is really annoying.

  • Apps to show real-time voltage of iPhone 5 battery?

Is Apple blocking the info (such as real-time voltage, say 3.753V) and no Apps can show that info in realtime?  My iPhone drained quickly and I need to evaluate its health (My expertise is Li battery)
This company is known for heavy-hand ractice, and I am very upset!

Does anyone has an answer?  I need to read the real-time voltage!  Thanks!

  • IOS weather app not showing dynamic background

The iOS weather app is not showing the dynamic graphic in the background - it's just "frozen" - have tried to restart my iPhone 6 but without luck.
    What to do?

this helped me understand the issue at hand...
If the book that you downloaded is no longer in your country's ibookstore then you won't be able to redownload it - publishers/copyright-holders occasionally remove books the store, ibooks are only potentially redownloadable whilst they remain in the store.
If the version that you have isn't still in the store, then to get it on your iPhone you will need to connect your iPad to your computer's iTunes and do File > Devices > Transfer Purchases to copy it over to your computer (and if using a Mac with OS X Mavericks on it then in iBooks on your Mac do File > Move Books From iTunes to copy it over to that), and you can then sync it to your iPhone.

  • Apple's weather app tells me wrong weather by far

Apple's weather app  tells me that where I am ( Tunis), it's currently 10 degrees, but when I look at hourly forecast, it says at 11:00 it will be -10 degrees. When I ask Siri it says it's -2 and it says that my town is named Gamat, but its real name is Gammarth. The map app also says that. And by the way in map apps my house is still under construction while it's actually finished since a year .
    Any help?
    Thanks!

Info come from different source I guess?
Firstly, make sure you locate your phone correctly.

  • Mail.app Is Showing Wrong "From" Name

    I'm having a heck of a time with Mail.app.
The latest bug is that in the list of incoming mail, it occasionally shows the wrong From name. When I open it up, it shows the correct name.
    Any ideas?
And I still can't get it to send mail from the proper email address. I has one it likes, and will not deviate.

Quit Mail. Force quit if necessary.
Back up all data before proceeding.
Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
    ~/Library/Mail/V2/MailData
Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. In the Finder, select
              Go ▹ Go to Folder
from the menu bar. Paste into the box that opens by pressing command-V, then press return.
A folder window will open. Inside it there should be files with names as follows:
              Envelope Index
              ExternalUpdates.storedata
Move those files to the Desktop, leaving the window open. Other files in the folder may have longer names that begin as above. Move those files, if any, to the Trash.
Relaunch Mail. It should prompt you to re-import your messages. You may get a warning that the index is damaged and that Mail has to quit. Click OK. Typically, the process takes a few minutes, but it may take hours if you have gigantic mailboxes. In that case, you may be able to speed things up by temporarily adding your home folder to the Privacy list in the Spotlight preference pane. Remove it when Mail has finished importing.
Test. If Mail now works as expected, you can delete the files you moved to the Desktop. Otherwise, post your results.

  • My app store shows wrong id and it is greyed out so I cannot change it to install updates

I am trying to install updates from the App store.
However, when I try to sign in, the dialogue box shows an old and wrong email address as my apple id.
Since the email is greyed out, I cannot change it to the correct current one.
I have checked that I am at the right location etc, restarted several times but no success.
    Please advise.
    Thanks

Do you recognize the wrong ID, or is it unknown to you?

  • Mac App Store Shows Wrong Firmware Update

My Mac App Store on my Macbook Air shows an update for the following firmware:
MacBook Pro EFI Firmware Update 2.9
Obviously that shouldn't be there since I'm on a MacBook Air. The real issue other than that showing up in the list is that checking for updates times out on the server, sometimes with the timeout 1001 error, and I'm not able to get updates for any other apps, including iTunes.
Does anyone know how to reset the app store so that it can figure out what kind of laptop I'm using? I tried looking for the com.apple.appstore... file that I saw in the forum somewhere but there was no such file under /Library/Preferences to remove.
I did manually download that MacBook Pro 2.9 update and ran it to see if that would clear it, but it didn't. (And it wouldn't install, obviously, because it doesn't work on my system.)
I did download iTunes 11 and installed it outside the App Store, which worked, and I also updated my MacBook firmware to the latest. And finally, I put on the 10.8.2 supplemental package manually, but none of this has fixed the app store.
    Anyone know what to do?

Fixed my own problem after some searching. I deleted the software update file with this command:
    sudo find / -type f -name com.apple.SoftwareUpdate\* -exec rm -f {} \;
Then after that it all worked fine, including removal of the MacBook Pro firmware update.

  • App Store shows wrong number of updates

Every time I open the App Store on my iPhone 6 it shows 20 updates available. I touch the "updates" button, and all the updates disappear. Next time I come back it will do the same. Updated to 8.0.2 but no joy.  What's up with this?

Turned out that the problem was that my old iPhone 4 was still registered with the same iTunes account. Once I went to appleid.apple.com and deauthorized the 4, I started to get the correct number of updates in the iPhone 6 App Store.

  • App store showing wrong apple id when trying to update but correct id in settings

App store is showing the wrong apple id when trying to do an update but correct id in settings. How do I fix?

I had the same problem. After syncing my phone, my husband's ID was popping up for app updates. Apparently they were downloaded through his account to begin with, so deleting them and redownloading fixed my problem.

  • App store showing wrong apple ID

So, when I try to "update all" in my App store, it shows Apple ID & asks for password, as usual. The problem is, the Apple ID that is showing, is wrong. When I go under settings to "view Apple ID", it is correct. Any advice on how to correct this? Uugh...

There is nothing to Fix... They are Not your Apps... Get them using Your Apple ID if you want them.

  • Date In Terminal Shows Wrong Time

I have a user (iMac Core 2 Duo 2.4GHz, 10.6.7, 6GB RAM) complaining that Entourage is reporting messages being sent/received 5 hours past the actual time. Sure enough, a test message I sent at 2:50 pm shows in her inbox as being sent/received at 7:50 pm. Checked the Date & Time settings in System Preferences, and all looks good & proper. When a file is created or modified, the time reported in Finder is correct. But when I open Terminal and type in the date command, it spits back a time exactly 7 hours in the future -- Fri Sep 30 19:50:33 UTC 2011.
I've run a permissions cleanup on the drive, and the problem persists. Next step I guess is to trash a few prefs files, but I'm not sure whether doing that will affect the date/time that Terminal is picking up. Anybody have any quick tricks to rectify this issue, or maybe to set the date/time through Terminal?

Ok, I think I have it fixed, kinda... The above response got me to pushing the time zone setting around the map, and I noticed that what is reported in Terminal didn't always match what I had set in the Preference panel. It seems to be associated with the city that's selected in the "Closest City:" pull-down menu to some degree; originally I had just typed in the local city name (Sioux Falls, SD) as I have on the other ~20 machines on the network. When I set it to Merida, Mexico, Terminal finally reported CDT correctly, and now Terminal (and Entourage) show the correct time.
So I guess that's just a workaround; still would be nice to fix it for good.
