IPhone5 will only charge if plugged into iTunes

For the past two weeks my phone will not charge with the wall adapter or just to the USB port on my computer (linux). I have a feeling its all about this "trust this computer" security feature because it won't charge until i "trust" the computer. Since most of my computers run linux, IOS 7 wont trust them. I have to power up a XP virtual machine with iTunes, connect the USB cable, trust it and i can start charging my phone. So annoying. There should be a way to disable these new security features on the phone.

Yes, the iPhone has been reset without resolve.
I am familiar with the accessory issue and as this is an apple iPhone with an Apple Lightning cable and the Apple AC charging block, there should not be an accessory issue (accessory not supported) thus not solved by turning off the JAVA scripting.
However, to ensure this is the case, it was turned off, the phone was again reset to ensure the iPhone has booted and acknowledge the setting change on boot and the issue still stands. The JAVA setting was also verified to be off when it power up from the reboot.

My IPhone works with both the charging USB cable as well as the wall socket and docking station. Additionally, my IPod used to charge using both the wall socket plug in and the docking station. Does the charger get warm at all? Plug the cable into your computer with iTunes open. Does it say not charging.? If it does, the cable is good. The iPad will charge very slowly when pluged into your computer.

Try a reset: Hold the home and power buttons at the same time until the Apple boot logo appears. No data will be lost. If that fails, the battery may have gone kaput.

IPhone will not charge when plugged into computer

My phone was not working, and so I took it to the apple store nearby. Here were the problems:
-error message saying "this device not made to work with iPhone"
-would not charge when plugged into computer OR wall charger
-person on other end of phone calls said i sounded really far away and had trouble hearing me
-when i shut it off, it restarts itself immediately
-cant do a manual reset holding the power and center buttons at same time
-when plugged into the computer, mouse freezes, and a message appears saying ""power surge on hub port A usb device has exceeded the power limits of its hub port."
At the genuis bar they told me they cant help me cause that little water damage indicator inside the headphone hole is pink instead of white! I have never ever ever ever ever EVER gotten my phone directly wet. The only thing i could think of was the humidity in the bathroom when I'm taking a shower, and using the timer to use hair remover on my legs lol. But i think this is totally unfair, they wont repair my phone, or even really look at it because of this supposed water damage. My phone has worked fine up to this point, and the thing that happened that started all of this is when i dropped it about a foot off the ground in a DRY parking lot.
Is there any way they will replace my iphone at no charge?

Well don't give up try again maybe your luck will change when you go back up there,let somebody else look at your phone not the same person that told you that.I would get a second and a 3rd option about my phone.When you go back don't even tell them what somebody already told you up there ones.

I guess I was luck cause if they would have told me that I would have freaked out so badly.And the reason why cause I wouldn't had my phone for five days and for them to tell me they couldn't do something oh yea they would have done something cause I would have went to jail that day for tearing up something in the store that worth my 400 and something dollars I spent on my phone and it would have bent one of them computer that would have bent history.

Help mini will only play if plugged into speakers

Got a new ipod mini 4gb two weeks before christmas, it worked fine until yesterday when I was given some speakers for it, to use instead of the headphones. These speakers charge the ipod at the same time, so I thought they were fantastic.
Today however, the screen is completely blank unless it is plugged into these speakers. - They are official speakers LOGIC 3 IP106, which are designed for ipod's. I've tried resetting, but all i've got is a completely blank screen. I've tried attaching to my pc, but again a completely blank screen. Plug it back into the speakers, apple logo appears, songs start to play straightaway and battery is showing as fully charged.
Can anyone help please.

I've tried it so many times it hurts. If I plug it into the speakers, all the personal settings are now gone, so obviously at some point, the reset has worked... but if it's not plugged in then all I get is a blank screen not an apple logo at all.
I'm now hoping that it will run out of charge as i've heard that can help, but if it's not being used at all, and is sitting in what looks like a turned off state, I'm guessing that it will take a while to loose charge.

Iphone 4s will not charge when plugged into imac

For a while now, my iphone 4s will not stay connected to the iMac. It will register when I plug it in to the USB port, but after a minute it will just drop connection. I tried to backup it into iTunes but it kicks me out when the connection is lost. Any suggestions?

I have had my iPad for 6 months. We recently had a power outage and my iPad was plugged in with the adapter that came with it. Since then I can not charge iPad with adapter, however I can charge it SLOWLY on my computer. Do you think the adapter got fried? Also do you HAVE to have iTunes with an iPad, they were charging me alot of fees for games I did not download NOR give my password to have them downloaded so I cancelled iTunes because fo too many fees. Could this have anyting to do with the battery not charging?

Well, something's definitely wrong if it won't charge from a wall outlet. Make an appointment at a Genius Bar or take it to an Apple certified repair provider.

IPod nano will not charge when plugged into a computer, or power adapter

This is an 8gb iPod nano 4th gen. Today, I was playing it on the stereo, and it ran out of juice, so i plugged it into my computer to charge. It would flash the "Connect to Power" screen, then turn off, then turn on, showing the apple logo, a few seconds later it goes to the main screen. Almost immediately, it shows the "Connect to Power" screen again, and turns off. This cycle just repeats over and over again.
I have tried two different usb cord, and all of the ports on my iMac, in addition to a AC adapter/charger. Each time warranted the same results. I have tried the menu + center button reset multiple times, but to no avail. I would reformat it, but alas, neither itunes nor finder will recognize it.

Sounds like a dock connector problem on the Nano, check it and make sure there is not debris, lint, etc. and clean it if there is. Also, check for bent/damaged pins.

Iphone will not charge unless plugged into a speaker dock

Hi, my iphone charged as normall over night at a friends house by plugging it into a speaker dock. Today it wont charge via a plug and wont connect to my laptop. The speaker i have at home has old hardware and is not compatible with my iphone for charging but it will connect and play music. I dont understand why my iphone 4 wont charge via usb but can still connect to a speaker dock and play music. (i have tried my cables with other iphones so i know its not the cables and i have tried re-starting and removing sim card)

Charging via USB and playing music via USB are seperate functions and not mutually exclusive.
The SIM card has nothing to do with this.
Any difference when connected to the power adaptor?

I have recently got an iPhone 4 out of no where it has decided to think that my headphones are in and they are not but does work with headphones in.

If the iPhone does not charge when connected to your computer either, the problem is with the cable being used or with the iPhone. If when using the power adaptor only, the problem is with the power adaptor.

Ipod Touch will only turn on plugged into computer, It will sync and as soon as I touch the screen after syncing it shuts down

My Ipod touch 3g will turn on with the cable attached, it will sync with Itunes. But as soon as I touch the screen to unlock it, I get no response to the touch and it immediately crashes. Also everytime I unplug it I have to restore it to a new Ipod to get it to sync. Is the battery bad? The battery meter says its full too. Or any I looking a host of different problems. Could the logic board be bad?

hold both power and home buttons till the apple logo shows
if u get no reponse or it crashes it could be the logic board or the battery is damaged
and i would make an apponintemet at the genius at www.itunes.com to arrange an repair or chat to a apple repair team member
