IPhone5s Replacement Needed?

My phone is giving me an error saying
Replacement Needed
This iPhone is not able to complete the activation process and needs to be replaced. Please vist your nearest Apple store.
Does this mean I have to get a NEW phone replaced from apple? Also the phone is UNLOCKED. Will they allow me to pick another color or choose back the same one I purchased?

Probably will never ever think of buying a locked phone from AT&T cause its one of the worst system integrations ever that these companies could think of.
The entire problem started when I put in a request with at&t to unlock my iphone 4s (ios7) which did get approved. I performed the entire instructions they asked me to do, which is to backup and restore. After doing those instructions my iphone gave me an error message below

Basically saying that at&t hasn't still unlocked the iphone which a really helpful apple executive was able to confirm. I initiated another unlock process from at&t in order to unlock the iphone, just to be sure that its not something wrong from my end. The nice at&t lady stayed on chat with me to unlock the iphone step my step while I was calling the apple tech too. And the apple tech confirmed again that the iphone is locked to at&t.
Now, just a few minutes ago I tried another restore to see if any progress is being made and to my surprise I got an error message saying
Replacement Needed. This iphone is not able to complete the activation process and needs to be replaced. Please visit your nearest apple store or authorized service center.
I feel like I am just going around these two different "money hogger" companies which set certain rules and regulations to screw a regular phone buyer. I purchased this iphone in USA and trying to unlock in India, is it really this hard to simply unlock a device.
For now I am going to try to call a apple office in india (apprently we don't have very many out here) and see if they can help me. But any other assistance regarding unlocking an iphone 4s would be helpful. I have however, tried checking IMEI.info, called up apple, talked to at&t (which always say go talk to apple) I do have a case number from apple as well in case an apple executive reads this discussion forum (case number: 566383594)

You got a confirmation from AT&T that it was authorized. Is this correct? - Yes i did get an email authorization on the 21st.
Then you connected the phone to a computer with the latest version of iTunes installed. You clicked on the phone's name in iTunes, then clicked "Backup Now". - Yes
When that finished you clicked "Restore iPhone" (NOT "Restore Backup") - Yes
Are you with me so far? - Yes.
And @ Varjak is right that after the 3rd restore I get the replacement error.
Plus I have NEVER jailbroken the iPhone. To give you another update, I spoke to a really nice apple tech in India who was atleast able to get me out of the replacement error by doing a recovery mode option. However, the lastest restore still gives me the same error

What iOS version is it currently running?
If you have an iPad 1, the max iOS is 5.1.1. For newer iPads, the current iOS is 7.1.1. The Settings>General>Software Update only appears if you have iOS 5.0 or higher currently installed.
You can no longer update to iOS 6.x, or down grade the iOS.

How to Upgrade to iOS 7
The iOS 7.0 update requires around 2.5 GB of storage space, so if your iPad is almost full, you may need to clear up some space. You can check your available space in Settings -> General -> Usage.
There are two ways to upgrade to iOS 7: You can use your Wi-Fi connection, or you can connect your iPad to your PC and update through iTunes. We'll go over each method.
To upgrade using Wi-Fi:
Note: If your iPad's battery is under 50%, you will want to plug it into your charger while performing the update.
Go into the iPad's Settings.
Locate and tap "General" from the menu on the left.
The second option from the top is "Software Update". Tap this to move into the update settings.
Tap "Download and Install". This will start the upgrade, which will take several minutes and will reboot your iPad during the process. If the Download and Install button is grayed out, trying clearing up some space. The space required by the update is mostly temporary, so you should gain most of it back after iOS 7 is installed.
Once the update is installed, you may have to run through the initial steps of setting up your iPad again. This is to account for new features and settings.
To upgrade using iTunes:
First, connect your iPad to your PC or Mac using the cable provided when you purchased your device. This will allow iTunes to communicate with your iPad.
You will also need the latest version of iTunes. Don't worry, you will be prompted to download the latest version when you launch iTunes. Once it installs, you may be asked to setup iCloud by logging into your iTunes account. If you have a Mac, you may be prompted on whether or not you want to enable the Find my Mac feature.
Now you are ready to begin the process:
If you upgraded iTunes earlier, go ahead and launch it. (For many, it will launch automatically when you plug in your iPad.)
Once iTunes is launched, it should automatically detect that a new version of the operating system exists and prompt you to upgrade to it. Choose Cancel. Before updating, you will want to manually sync your iPad to make sure everything is up to date.
After canceling the dialog box, iTunes should automatically sync with your iPad.
If iTunes doesn't automatically sync, you can manually do it by selecting your iPad within iTunes, clicking on the File menu and choosing Sync iPad from the list.
After your iPad has been synced to iTunes, select your iPad within iTunes. You can find it on the left side menu under Devices.
From the iPad screen, click on the Update button.
After verifying that you want to update your iPad, the process will begin. It takes a few minutes to update the operating system during which time your iPad may reboot a few times.
After updating, you may be asked a few questions when your device finally boots back up. This is to account for new settings and features.

It's not obvious at all. If you mean you can't call from your phone, call from another one. Make an appointment at the genius bar and take it in for them to look at.

I have an iPad 2 (3rd Generation). It has a camera and does not have a retina screen. It was not until yesterday that my iPad informed me that an upgrade (IOS 7.0.2 was available for downloadeven though the upgrade has been available for over several wweks. I have been reading this thread and the earlier thread you recommended and have been putting off the upgrade until the replacement issue was resolved. Since there really has been not new updates to this tread, I am assuming nothing has happened. Although I feel bad for other members of this forum, my iPad is working perfectly well and I do not want to do anything to jeopardize that. I have been in regular contact with AppleCare who are very helpful. The issue has been escalated to the iOS Engineers (in Australia) and they said the issue is affecting some cellular iPad 2's (WiFi only iPad 2's should not be affected), and is definitely a server backend configuration problem with the cellular connections.
My iPad is a wifi only. Have you heard of any wifi only iPads experiencing an issue with the IOS 7.1.2 upgrade?

To use it as an iPod it must be activated...to do that it has to accept a sim. A blacklisted iPhone cannot do that. Take it back to AT and T where you got it and get your money back.

Bought the same SRW2048 thinking it should be a good upgrade for the unmanaged 10/100 switch, but within the first two weeks, I need RMA. Then the new switch is starting to have similar problem. Some are trying to blame some network packets causing the switch to reboot. I have a pretty simple default configuration (plug it in, assign IP and plug in workstations!)
Here's my laundry list:
- Time is off, never come back to the right one and SNTP never really works. When the switch reboots, I get back to the 00/00/00 and it's a pain to the time right.
- I see ports going online and offline and lots of them. I know there are nobody at the office, so it has got to be the switch.
We do not have any complex network set up, just one SRW2048 to a ~30 node s network. One one side is the clients and on the upside is a pix firewall.
It's so hard to setup each time the switch reboots, the whole office scramble and lost work.
If you guys have an answer to why ports go offline/online, etc... or why the switch does a cold start, please share.

Same sim card, ok in one iphone5 but need active in another one

I have got two iphone5, one black one white.
Black one's sim card can use in both iphone, white one's sim card only operate in white one, if you insert it
into black one then the iphone switch to need active model.
Both iphone are PAYG, two sim card belongs to 3 and BT. The 3's card is ok in both phone, BT's sim card only work with one.
Please help!

One phone bought from apple store, and one from carphonewarehouse, and both of them are sim free phone.
Insert the BT's sim card in the non-working phone and then the phone shows a message that the phone can not verified by the sim card.
