IPhones and music in corporate environment

We have a recentley rolled out a small number of iPhones in our company.
We have used the config utility to block itunes usage.
I would still like the users to have the use of the iPod on the iPhone to play music.
Is this possible? If so, how?
Keeping in mind, the iTunes application is not permitted on company PCs or Laptops.
It might also be worth mentioning, some users do have iTunes installed on their home PCs.
Many Thanks in advance

iTunes isn’t required in order to use the device with your enterprise systems, but it’s required for synchronizing music, video, and web browser bookmarks with a computer. It’s also required for downloading and installing software updates for devices and installing your enterprise applications. So, I guess my question is do you have any enterprise applications, & if you do, how were you planning on installing them?
To sync music, all your users have to do is connect their phones to their home computers with itunes running & sync. The only gotchas would be app installation, but you can disable that through the configuration utility, and perhaps the syncing of videos and photos that your firm might find inappropriate.
Regarding other devices the users might own, that's not a problem as you can sync as many devices as you want to the same itunes account, there is no limit.

  • Iphone and Music

if i add music to my iphone can it still be added to my ipod? Also can both the iphone and ipod be synced to the same itunes?

Yes. I'm doing like that now. I have to manually manage the music syncing to the iPhone since I have 50G of music, but it works.

  • Lost iPhone and Music purchased on phone

My iPhone was stolen, and I never was able to back up the music I purchased on the phone through iTunes. Is there anyway I can download them onto my computer?

You can email them and plead your case but they do not have to allow you to download them again.

  • I have 2 Apple IDs, 1 associated with all the family devices and the other which has no devices associated with it.  Is there a way to split out the devices between the 2 IDs without losing apps(iPhone) and music (ipod classic)?

i'd be inclined to leave things as they are. Managing app updates over more than one account in the same library or device requires you to sign in and out of each account in turn. You cannot transfer content from one account to another.

  • Iphone and music synching

I just got a new iphone. I did not synch it to my backup or laptop yet, however I noticed that all my songs from itunes were already in my music. I assume this was linked through my apple ID. However, the songs only show when the internet/netwrok is active. Furthermore, it also shows i have "0" songs in my memory on my phone, so they are not playing off the phone itself. My question is, when I play these songs am I streaming data aka using my data plan to listen? This sounds a little sneaky of apple...if I synch my phone to my laptop/itunes music will it override this?
It would be great if this was just a convenient way to have all my music but i do not want to be paying everytime I listen.

the syncing problem came as a surprise to me - Mophile doesnt rally mention it on their web site - but I called them and they said the case is not designed to allow syncing with the case on - so its not a bug but a lack of functionality buit in(or not built in to the case)
as to your problem with tthe audio cable - ive heard that sometimes quickly plugging and unplugging the cable from the the audo jack several time  will fix this problem - whats going on is the phone still thinks the audio cable is attached - and quickly plugging and unplugging it several times clears that up

  • Deploying iPhone 5 in a Corporate Environment

Recently I have purchased several iPhone 5c's to deploy to my end users.  I am experimenting with the features that Apple boasts with iOS 7; which are nice, especially the VPN functionality.
I wanted to ask a few questions and to get feedback from other administrators.  Any tips that you have found to work please let me know.
Question 1: Since these are corporate devices and not BYOD's, how do I setup app store for 50+ users?  I don't want users downloading apps or having it associated with their corporate emails.  I would prefer one corporate email address be associated with all devices in which I retain the credentials.
Question 2: What are some helpful hints that others have found in locking down iPhones?

Turn the phone in to the police and give them all the information you have on the person you bought it from.
Be grateful all you got was ripped off. It could have been much much worse.

  • Question about iPhone and Music

I'm a long time PC user but about to buy an iPhone.
I'm a little confused how iTunes works. Are there any restrictions about the type or source of the music I put on my iPhone? I have thousands of MP3s that have been ripped from CDs over the years.
    Thanks!

The iPhone will gladly accept all your MP3s with no issues. You have to import them into iTunes. iTunes can then help you organize them, put album cover art on them, etc. iTunes is the only way to put music onto your iPhone right now, but it doesnt care where the MP3 came from.

Changing your Apple ID to your current, working email address will not create another Apple ID, it will only change it to your working email address.

  • Apple ID on corporate iPhones and iPads

    Hello,
I'm trying to set up multiple iPads and iPhones for our corporate environment. I've used the iPhone Configuration Utility to create a default profile for our business and to streamline the setup process.
I have a basic configuration and three apps I'm attempting to load on the devices using the Configuration Utility. The configuration profile and all three apps load fine on new devices. The problem I've encountered is that all three (free) apps seem perpetually tied to my own Apple ID, which is the Apple ID I initially used to download the apps.
The apps work just fine but when an end user is prompted to update any one of the apps they are also prompted for my Apple ID in order to proceed. I tried to explore the option of volume licensing but this only seems to apply to paid apps.
Downloading the apps individually for each device is not really an option. One because it's a huge waste fo time and resources, and two because it would require me to set up an Apple ID for each end user. That's something I'm not prepared to do when rolling out dozens of devices.
Is there no way to add free apps to a new device using the Configuration Utility without having said apps tied to one Apple ID?
    Thanks,
    Rob A.

Unless they are in-house developed and distributed apps, no. They will be tied to an Apple ID.
That's why we created an Apple ID for [email protected] (our company), and downloaded the apps using that Apple ID.
Not the best solution, but it will work for us for now... and we only have about 2 dozen devices to manage.

  • I have multiple devices in my family. Each of us has an iPhone and an iPad. Is there a way for each of us to have our own Apple ID but one account so we can all get the same music, movies, books, etc. I can't see paying twice for something in the same fam

Welcome to the world of digital media. Your can't really transfer it. I don't know what the rules are about transferring to your spouse but I do know that in some cases when you die, your heirs cannot inherit your digital media. This is why there is still an advantage to buying the CD since the usage rights belong to whomever holds the physical media.
A possible workaround is to burn the songs to a music CD with yout account (tracks only without song titles) and then having your wife upload it as a regular music CD onto her account. It's been a while since i've done this so I'm not sure if it would work now.
Please note that I'm not advocating copyright and/or TOS violations. I'm only suggesting ways to copy music for your own personal use which has traditonally been permitted. I only did this because I wanted to convert iTunes songs to mp3 files so I could burn them onto a data CD for use in my car. It would make sense that since married couples are a joint entity, this would be personal use.
Also, I'm not a lawyer so don't take this as legal advice.

  • When I listen to music on my iPhone and pause it, if I come back to it later, the playlist has started over. I have a 4S running on iOS 7.0.4. Is there any way to keep this from happening so that my playlist will start off where I last was?

  • I would like to be able to download updates for my Iphone and Ipad on my work computer but my home computer has all of my music on Itunes.  How do i downlaod updates at work without deleting all of the music which is stored on my home computer/Itunes?

I would like to be able to download software updates on my Iphone and Ipad at work without erasing my music.  My home computer/Itunes has all of my music saved.  is there a way to use two computers w/o erasing information?  Or can i transfer the music from my Iphone to my work computer?

    - An iPod can only sync with one iTunes library. Yu can however manage music and videos among different computers by:
Using iPhone, iPad, or iPod with multiple computers
    - To change syncing computer, move all the media to compute r#2
    - Connect the iPod to #2 and make a backup by right clicking on the iPod under Devices in iTunes and select Back Up
    - Restore the iPod from that backup
Note tha the iPod backup the iTunes makes does not include synced media like apps and music.

  • Syncing  iphone and uploading music to iMac from  phone

We're trying to upload music from an iphone and also sync the iphone to an imac...
We seem to be missing a step in the work flow to make this happen...
We are also syncing this phone to this iMac for the first time.
We also want to make sure we don't lose the music, since it's original.
    Ideas?
    Thanks!

Are you trying to copy music from your iPhone onto your mac? iTunes will not let you do that, it only lets you move music from your computer to your iPhone - one way - or delete it from your iPhone.
Have you synced the iPhone with any other computer in the past? Your iPhone will be linked to your iTunes account. If you try to link it to another account iTunes will wipe the phone first.
