IPhoto '08 7.1.4 not Printing

My iphoto won't print anything. It says that I don't have any themes installed.
The themes folder is correctly located in the application support folder in HD. I tried reinstalling and am still having the same problem.
Does anyone have any other solutions?
I can't find my photos in the finder window to open in preview and print...???
How can I print some photos?
Thanks
Jaz

Welcome to the Apple Discussions.
Restoring iPhoto Themes
First look in your User/Library/Application Support/iPhoto folder for a Themes folder. If you find it there move it to the HD/Library/Application Support/iPhoto folder and reboot. Then try iPhoto again. That may save you having to go thru the reinstallation process described below:
1 - delete the current application.
2 - delete any files with iPhoto in the file name that reside in your HD/Library/Receipts folder.
3 - delete the Themes folder from your User/Library/Application Support/iPhoto folder. Also look in the HD/Library/Application Support/iPhoto folder for a Themes folder. If there is one there then delete it also.
5 - boot into the system disk that came with your computer and do a custom install selecting only iPhoto.
After installing reinstall the latest iPhoto updater again followed by a repair of disk permissions with Disk Utility. Also make sure you're running the latest Quicktime version.
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier) database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger or later), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 6 and 7 libraries and Tiger and Leopard. Just put the application in the Dock and click on it whenever you want to backup the dB file. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.
Note: There now an Automator backup application for iPhoto 5 that will work with Tiger or Leopard.

I bought via iPhoto cards and entered texts. The text was not printed when I received it. A few days later ordered a hardcopy book : same problem.
All texts are missing except the text on the cover of the book. What can it be ?

  • IPhoto 6 will not print

I just upgraded to iPhoto 6, and I am unable to print. There is no "Print" button in the toolbar (should there be?) and selecting "Print" from the "File" menu does nothing. It highlights momentarily, and then nothing.
I trashed the preferences file, to no avail. Any suggestions?
All my other apps print just fine. Computer is a PowerMac 1.25Ghz Dual (FW800) on OS X 10.4.4. Printer is Canon i960 (but that doesn't matter yet since there is no dialog at all).

An added dimension to the problem to the problem of iPhoto 6 not printing:
This behavior happens only when I am logged in as me (the primary admin account).
When I log in as anyone else, including other admin accounts, the print dialog comes up just fine.
My iPhoto library is in Users/shared/Pictures/iPhoto, but I have tried creating a new library in my own user folder and reimporting the pictures to that new library (by dragging the photos into the new, empty iPhoto window) but that also will not allow me to print.
I changed permissions on the Users/shared/Pictures folder so that everyone has read/write permission. I repaired disk permissions (using Disk Utility).
Still, when I log in under my account (the same one I've always used) nothing happens when I type Command-P or File->Print. No print dialog. No error message. Nothing.
It seems like a permissions/privileges issue but I just cannot figure it out.

  • IPhoto not printing properly to P-10

I downloaded the correct driver for my Olympus P-10 digital printer, and iPhoto recognizes it. The printer prints fine directly from the camera, however, when I try to print an edited photo from iPhoto 5.0.4, the full image does not print. A portion of it does, depending upon what constraints I have set in the edit process. I've tried multiple configurations of restraints to no avail. So far, the closest acceptable print is to set the layout to "N-up" which essentially prints four 4X6 photos to a page, but even that is not as good as it should be. What am I doing wrong in iPhoto?
    Thanks in advance.

  • IPhoto will not print

IPhoto will not print at all and just hangs up. I can not even force quit it. I have two printers connected a HP envy 5532 and a Brother HL-2130 and both work fine with all other programmes.

Are you able to print successfully from other applications, say Preview?
Also as a test launch iPhoto with the Option key held down and create a new, test library.  Import some photos and test to see if the same problem persists. Does it?

  • Iphoto will not print and the print command freezes my computer. Help!

I cannot print from iPhoto.  When I give the print command my cursor turns into a pinwheel and freezes my computer.

Apparently there's some preference files other than iPhoto's that may be causing the problem. Here's how to determine if that's the case:
    Trouble Shooting Preferences
NOTE: In Lion and Mountain Lion the Home/Library folder is now invisible. To make it permanently visible enter the following in the Terminal application window: chflags nohidden ~/Library and press the Return key - 10.7: Un-hide the User Library folder.
If you're running Mavericks or Yosemite go to your Home folder and use the View ➙ Show View Options menu to bring the this window:
    1 - close all applications.
2 - open your Home/Library folder and Option-drag (copy) the Preferences folder to the Desktop.
3 - select the contents of your Home/Library/Preferences folder and drag them into the Trash bin in the Dock.  You will be asked to provide your Admin password.
4 - reboot. Be sure to know your account's username and password as you will be asked to log in with it.
5 - run the application again and determine if the problem(s) is fixed.
6 - If the problem is fixed:
    A - open the working Home/Library/Preferences folder.
B - Open the Preferences  folder on the Desktop, select all of the contents and drag them into the working Home/Library/Preferences folder.
C - When the Copy window pops up check the "Apply to All" check box and then click on the Don't Replace or Skip button.
    D - reboot.
7 - If the problem is NOT fixed, drag the contents of the Preference folder on the Desktop into the Home/Library/Preference folder and replace the entire contents that were created by clicking on Replace.
8 - reboot and you're back as square one.
Note:  keep the Preference folder on the desktop until you're sure all registration info for your apps are working.  If not you can copy the required files from the desktop pref folder to the working one.

  • Can you not print pdf to iphoto anymore with OS X Lion?

Just downloaded Mac OS X Lion.
Can you noit print pdf to iphoto anymore with OS X Lion?

From what I am able to determine, the functionality that I enjoyed before upgrading to Lion is no longer available. Previously, one could open a PDF using Preview, select Print and then "Send to iPhoto."  This feature is not there anymore. That is a major disappointment as I used it quite regularly at the non-profit support serviceI volunteer at.

  • IPhoto 6 not printing photos imported from iPod Movie

Thought I had it beat, on a 6 week tour of Europe I downloaded all my photos (2,500) from my digital camera straight onto my iPod movie. This worked beautifully. Could even preview photos on iPod. Got home, imported all photos from the iPod onto my iMac PowerPC G4 using iPhoto 6 - v6.0.6, the leftover photos on my digital camera went straight onto the iMac.
Trouble is the photos that were downloaded from the iPod will NOT print. The photos in the folder downloaded from the camera WILL print. All photos can be viewed and edited but the photos that were stored on the iPod simply will not print.
What do I need to do to get these photos to print?

Are you sure there are no updates for iPhoto 6 waiting for you to install?
Run software update and be sure.

  • IPhoto not printing to Canon MG 3200 Series

I cannot print any images from iPhoto to my Cannon MG 3200 printer. I can print other documents just fine. But even if I insert the image into a Word doc, it still will not print. I get a message saying the printer is offline and not connected, but it works fine for other docs. Any suggestions appreciated.

I had a similar problem, which was because I had two versions of the printer installed (USB and wireless).
When you select print, you get an initial dialogue box to select your Canon MG3200.  Make sure you select the wireless one (second option for me).  A second dialogue box with printer options also shows up.  Make sure this is also the wireless printer (again, second option for me).
I was getting the offline error because I was only changing the printer in the first dialogue box, but not the second one.

  • IPhoto will not print a photo on Epson DX7450

I have a client who has a new iMac that originally ran Tiger and printed photos in iPhoto '08 using an Epson DX7450 multi function printer - all was just fine. Recently, they upgraded to Leopard and now running 10.5.5; sadly now photos in iPhoto will not print - other programs are not affected, just iPhoto. The Epson has the latest drivers and Epson suggest that the issue lies with iPhoto. Any suggestions welcome please. They do not want to use a different photo library application!

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. First try the easy fix: close iPhoto, delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your User/Library/Preferences folder, launch iPhoto and see if that helps.
Next, if necessary, log into another account on the Mac, create a new library if necessary, import a picture and see if you can print from there. If not then a reinstall of iPhoto seems warranted. In that case you'll have to delete the current application and all files with "iPhoto" in the file name that reside in the HD/Library/Receipts folder.
If iPhoto prints OK in the other account then the problem is with your primary account. It could be a preference file other than iPhoto's. Here's how to determine if that's the case:
    Trouble Shooting Preferences in Leopard
1 - Create a folder titled "Preferences A" on the Desktop.
2 - Open the working Preferences folder, HD/Users/your_name/Library/Preferences, and move the contents to the Preferences A folder on the Desktop.
3 - Make a duplicate copy of the Preferences A folder on the Desktop as a precautionary backup.
4 - With the working Preferences folder empty run the application again and determine if the problems is fixed.
NOTE: you may have to drag the contents of the working folder to the trash and empty if moving the contents to the A folder only copies them instead of moving.
5 - If the problem is fixed:
A - open the working Preferences folder (HD/Users/your_name/Library/Preferences).
B - Open the Preferences A folder on the Desktop, select all of the contents and drag them into the working Preferences folder.
C - When the Copy window pops up check the "Apply to All" check box and then click on the Don't Replace button as seen here.
6 - If the problem is NOT fixed, empty the working Preferencess folder and move the contents of the Preferences folder on the desktop back into it.
• Iphoto will not print to Epson r2400

After downloading the most recent updates from Apple, I can no longer print from iphoto on my epson r2400 photo printer. I am running the latest drivers from the epson website but to no avail. I have even redownloaded the drivers and reinstalled them.
Whenever I try to print a picture the only things that happen is the printer begins to make noise like it is going to print and then I get a red exclamation point on the printer icon in the dock and a message saying "jobs stopped." Prior to this download everything worked fine in both iphoto and photoshop elements.
I also have an hp printer hooked up that I only use to print documents and it works fine. Any help someone could give me would be greatly appreciated.
