IPhoto '09 - photos will not sync to Facebook

I have been through this issue so many times! I have tried deleting the Keychain, deleting the app from Facebook, editing the setting in iPhoto and using Setup to  reconnect iPhoto to my Facebook account. Initially, trying to sync my albums to facebook would initiate a perpetual Pending state in iPhoto, effectively crashing iPhoto to the point where it won't even quit. After trying the above mentioned tactics, now it just says there is an error with iPhoto uploader, please try again later when I try to set up my facebook account in iPhoto. Is there a fix for this? Has anyone else had this much frustration with iPhoto uploader, to the point where they are ready to give up on the program entirely?
Please, any ideas....?

Ziggy,
Just so you know, iPhone's email shrinks the images to 640 x 480 for sending. The only way to get a full quality image off your camera is by syncing so you need to get that problem resolved. Do you have your iPhone connected by a USB hub or are there any other USB devices connected to your computer? It's been reported that these can garble photos. Make sure your iPhone is plugged directly to the computer USB port and nothing else is connected. Also sometimes scanner software can be trying to access a USB port even when not plugged in.

I had the same thing happen to me.  It's a bug in iPhoto 9.4.2.
The first time you run iPhoto after upgrading to iPhoto 9.4.2, it "updates the iPhoto library".  This sometimes tickles a bug where iTunes can see all your iPhoto albums, but iTunes thinks they are empty.  Since iTunes thinks all your albums are empty, it dutifully deletes any photos from your synced iOS devices.
It's easy to tell if this is the problem you are seeing.  Open iTunes and go to the photos sync panel for one of your iOS devices.  If you have multiple albums checked, but iTunes shows a total of 0 photos, then you have the problem.
I spent an hour with an Apple Genius.  he couldn't find any mention of this problem in their internal support system.  His recomendation was to reinstall the operating the system.  I suspect that this won't solve it.
The only solution I have found is to restore iPhoto 9.4.1 and the corresponding iPhoto library from your backups.
I would refrain from upgrading to iPhoto 9.4.2 until Apple has a fix for this issue.

  • Address Book Contact Photos will not sync over to iPhone 2G

So here is the deal. I just bought a new 21.5" iMac w/ Snow Leopard. I had a iMac G5 with Leopard previously and rather than using migration assistant, i just copied over the applicable folders and files (per my research) so that my contacts would be present on the new computer. Everything seems fine except the contact photos will not sync over to my iPhone. Has anyone run across this? Help is greatly appreciated!

  • Photos will not sync across devices in iOS 8.1

I have iOS 8.1.1 on both my iPad and my iPhone 5. After installing the new iOS and selecting 'iCloud Photo Library (Beta)' on both devices, the 'my photo stream' folder has disappeared and photos will not sync across devices. Everything was fine prior to installing the new iOS. Can anyone help me to fix this? Thank you!

    Hi sueb21,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
If you are using iCloud Photo Library Beta there are some differences from what you may be use to. Please read over the attached article for information on how your pictures are now organized and for how you can turn it off if you choose to do so.
iCloud Photo Library beta FAQ - Apple Support
What happened to the My Photo Stream and Camera Roll albums?
The Camera Roll and My Photo Stream album are replaced with an All Photos album, which gives you the same compact scroll view, now with all your photos and videos organized by the date they were added. Learn more about finding photos in iOS 8.
After you enable iCloud Photo Library, all your original photos and videos are organized in one library. My Photo Stream will upload recent photos to share with your other devices, but iCloud Photo Library stores your originals. See how to upload originals below.
    Have a great day,
    Joe

  • Photos will not sync to iPhoto

Photos that I take with my iPhone appear fine on the phone, but will not sync (unreadable file) or are corrupt (blackout or whiteout stripes or funky neon colors). I read another post that asked about other items plugged into the USB port, but all I have is a wireless Apple mouse that uses a DLINK bluetooth adapter in the USB port next to the one my iPhone is using. This is the second consecutive set of photos I cannot download, so it is not the photos themselves, but something else.

  • Photos will not sync on iTunes 11

Plugging in the latest iPad with the latest iTunes, select the folder of new photos I want on my iPad and hey presto, nothing.
ITunes does freeze quit a bit and says that it has performed the sync, but nothing on the iPad.  ITunes 10 did this with no problems, since the update to 11 I can't sync photos using a 32 bit Windows 7 Home Premium.
The other annoying thing is that it gets into iTunes screen and there is no icon to get into the iPad.  The userbility of iTunes 11 is awfull and not Mac typical at all.  What moron allowed this rubbish to be released?  iTunes 11 is as buggy as **** with userbility issues.

You may find the following steps make iTunes 11 more bearable
    1) Ctrl + B to turn on the top menu
    2) View > Show Sidebar to turn on left panel showing Library, Devices, Playlists etc
    3) View > Show Status Bar to see song info at the bottom in grey bar
    4) Click on arrow in Search Box and untick Search Entire Library -  this will increase performance and revert Search to the way it worked in iTunes 10
Photos do not sync to PC via itunes instead your Photo Application, Elements or whatever should fire up and import them. Do you need to check your import seetings in whatever app you use?

  • Photos will not sync to iphone5

Just got my new iphone5 today. When I first sync'd it my photos transfered fine but now no matter what I do it will not sync photos, it always comes up with the error 'not enough memory'. Everything else syncs fine to my phone, even a 2GB game. I even tried deleteing everything and resetting my phone and even when it was completely blank and reset it would not sync photos.

  • IPhone 5s will not sync to facebook calendar

    Hi Everyone,
I am new to both the iPhone 5s and Apple.
I have just installed facebook onto my iPhone and for some unknown reason the Facebook Events and Birthdays will not sync with the iPhone calendar.
Can anyone advise me on how can I can get this to happen?
    Many Thanks
    Sanjiv

did u tell it what to sync? u have to click on the phone in itunes, this will bring u to the summary page. up there where it says summary there will be some options like music or apps. pick one that u want to sync and click to sync it and what to sync from that category. then hit apply down on the bottom right.
if u want it to sync those options u chose everytime u plug it in u need to make sure the "prevent devices from syncing automatically" IS NOT turned on in itunes preferences>devices.

  • Some photos will not sync from iPhoto to iPad

I could REALLY use some help. For starters, here is what I am working with:
iPad3, 64 Gigs, 32 gigs free, up to date iOS
Mac Pro with OSX 10.8.3 and iPhoto 9.4.2
The main problem is that some photos can not be synced to my iPad. I have done this for years using iTunes. When I am in iTunes, I can see the albums where the photos are supposed to be. But often, the number of photos in the folder is listed as zero. Other times, the number is less than the number that is actually in the folder on my Mac. Syncing or Applying does not find and move the seemingly invisible pictures. The photos on my Mac are in JPEG format, and can be seen and emailed and edited, etc. on my Mac. I just cant get my iPad to see them and sync them. To say the least, this is problematic, I use my iPad show my craftwork photos to clients, and I can't get some newer photos put on the beautiful handheld iPad.More (potential) pieces of the puzzle:
the issues seem more frequent with new photos. Old albums seem stable and transferable
I have done some things like clearing ALL photos off my iPad, restarting it, then moving the albums back on to the iPad using iTunes. Didn't help
iPhoto on my Mac does sometimes exhibit some crankiness. It tends to crash if I choose Info on any photo. Sometimes it loses photos I have imported. Sometimes it duplicates some photos in a folder.
I have tried restarting my Mac, have done disk diagnostics, have zapped PRAM, repaired permissions.... all sorts of things like that
A few weeks ago, I backed up my iPhoto library to another drive, then run a couple of the options in the Rebuild iPhoto Library menu. None of that helped.
I think there may have been a few other anomolies in the last few months, but the ones above are the things I can remember
Any help would be super kind of you. I am a Mac user since the very original 128k 1984 Mac. And I have figured out a lot of minor problems in all those years. This one seems so mysterious and intractable. And is really putting a kink in my use of the iPad.
    Thanks in advance, Peter

didn't try the reboot but when I took my first picture wit the iphone camera then all photos showed up in 'photos' album along with 'camera roll'

  • After rebuild of iphoto- photos will not sync (iphone + ipad)

While syncing the iphone (5s),  iphoto (v9.4.3) opened and a pop-up prompted me that I needed to rebuild my library. Clicked to do so, and after the rebuild finished, I went to sync in itunes and noticed my photo settings had changed.  The "Selected albums, Events,..." is grayed out.  I unselected "Sync Photos from iphoto" synced to erase what had been selected from the iphone.  With "sync photos" unchecked it syncs normally.  When checked (the only option: All photos,..) I get an error code "The iPhone "--" cannot be synced. An unknown error occurred (1140)."  Tryed syncing my iPad (3 gen) with the same result.
I have both my iphoto and itunes libary on an external HD through my older iMac (running OSX 10.7.5).  Have tried: rebooting everything/ running a Disk Utilities repair disk permissions/ an iphoto permissions repair/ deleting the iPod Photo Cache folder/ Opening the AlbumData.xml seeking out all "&" and changing them (via another thread)... all without any success. I am able to access pictures through other applications (imovie/ pages) and iphoto still recognizes and asked to import photos with iphone/ipad connected.  I have an time machine back up, but haven't restored anything from that.  Any ideas how to regain the option to select albums, events, etc... would be very appreciated.

    Hello Jezky123,
It sounds like you are unable to sync photos now from from iPhoto through iTunes to an iOS device. You did some great troubleshooting already. Next I would try deleting the iPod photo cache and then try again:
iTunes: Understanding the iPod Photo Cache folder
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1314
    iPhoto or Aperture
If you're syncing from an iPhoto or Aperture library, use these steps to find the iPod Photo Cache folder in the default iPhoto Library or Aperture Library location:
From the Finder, choose Go > Home. If you moved your iPhoto Library or Aperture Library to a different location, go to that location instead.
Open the Pictures folder and locate the iPhoto Library file. (For Aperture, this is called Aperture Library.)
Control-click iPhoto Library or Aperture Library and choose Show Package Contents.
In the next window, drag the iPod Photo Cache folder to the Trash.
Important: Don't remove or modify any other file within the library package. Removing or modifying other files may cause data loss.
    Close the Finder window.
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
    Cheers,
    Sterling

  • IPhone 4 on 4.3.3 photos will not sync?

I've never had a problem syncing my photos until just recently. I don't know if the problem is due to 4.3.3 or not. ITunes is not recognizing the folders I've selected to sync at all (I can tell because it is not allocating any disk space to my photos at the bottom of the screen when I've got my iPhone device selected). I've tried the following:
    - unselecting the music sync and trying to sync without it
    - resetting my settings on my iPhone and syncing after it
    - hard reboot of my iPhone and syncing after it
    - simply powering the iPhone off and on after the auto-sync and even manually syncing again
    - copying all of the files I want from my main My Pictures folder to a new iPhone Photo Sync folder and trying to just sync all folders in that new folder or selected folders with all of my individual folders checked
    - resetting my sync history in iTunes and manually running the sync again
    - deleting the iPhone photo cache both in my main My Pictures folder and new iPhone Photo Sync folder and trying to sync to each folder again
    - reset warnings by right clicking on my iPhone device in the left-hand iTunes menu and manually syncing again
Please help! I'm consisting getting a warning message of: "Some of your photos, including the photo "XXX", were not copied to the iPhone "XXX" because they cannot be displayed on your iPhone." I don't understand why the photos that were previously on my phone just last week will not even copy over now. I had over 2000 photos on my iPhone and now it will only copy 3 over! I can't even select 4.3.3 as my operating system when logging this in the forum. Can I revert my phone back to 4.3.2??

I just noticed that the pictures I have taken on my iPhone 6 plus, which were synched to my iMac, then synched from iPhoto are not showing up.  Very strange. I just went to look for my newest photos and they are no where to be found on the phone.
Is this some kind of bug?  I do recall that I have Wi-Fi synch enable in iTunes. I am going to try and disable it and re-synch to see if they show up.
I have all my photos in iPhoto on my iMac. I also have all of them stored on my iPhone 6 plus.
