IPhoto 11 (9.13) arrow keys broken when browsing through event

Steps to recreate :
Launch iPhoto
Click open one of your Events
First photo is shown. Keep pressing right arrow to move to next photo; suddenly press left arrow to go back to previous.
Previous photo is shown. But now if you press right arrow, the focus ( yellow selection rectangle ) on the film strip on the bottom moves to previous photo and photo on screen does not change.
Only option now is to use mouse/pad to move previous or next.
Are you guys seeing the same experience? or is it only my mac?

Sorry but I can't confirm this behaviour.
Try trash the com.apple.iPhoto.plist file from the HD/Users/ Your Name / library / preferences folder. (Remember you'll need to reset your User options afterwards. These include minor settings like the window colour and so on. Note: If you've moved your library you'll need to point iPhoto at it again.)
What's the plist file?
For new users: Every application on your Mac has an accompanying plist file. It records certain User choices. For instance, in your favourite Word Processor it remembers your choice of Default Font, on your Web Browser is remembers things like your choice of Home Page. It even recalls what windows you had open last if your app allows you to pick up from where you left off last. The iPhoto plist file remembers things like the location of the Library, your choice of background colour, whether you are running a Referenced or Managed Library, what preferences you have for autosplitting events and so on. Trashing the plist file forces the app to generate a new one on the next launch, and this restores things to the Factory Defaults. Hence, if you've changed any of these things you'll need to reset them. If you haven't, then no bother. Trashing the plist file is Mac troubleshooting 101.

G580: arrow keys broken?

I got a G580 about a week ago. Yesterday I found the up and left arrow keys aren't working, then found they're working intermittently (I hadn't noticed them not working before, and they still work occasionally). I'm pretty sure it's the keyboard, because when the keys aren't working, they don't work in Windows 8, or Ubuntu, or UEFI, and apparently don't register as key-presses at all.
I really like those arrow keys, but I can probably live with the arrow keys on the num-pad if I can't get them back (I don't really want to return it and set up a new laptop again). Is there anything I can try to repair them, or else any reason I should return the computer immediately (like, is my whole keyboard about to go)?

Navigate using arrow keys broken - 10.4.6

Hi, I'm wondering if anyone else has this problem.
I can no longer navigate the finder using the directional arrow keys in column mode after updating to 10.4.6. I hope this is just me because it's a real PITA if this cannot be fixed.
The arrow keys work in other view modes (list and icon), and also within other applications open/save dialogue boxes.

OK, much to my embarrassment it seems to have fixed itself after two restarts... very strange indeed. Has anyone experienced this sort of intermittent issue before?
I was thinking that I had discovered my first problem with any Apple software update, but alas, not to be. So other than that (non)issue, another good update, now where's Aperture 1.1?

I would like to capture L and R arrow key action when recording a captivate 5 project

Hi All out there,
I would like to capture L and R arrow key actions besides left or right mouse clicks.
Enter is possible if a click has preceeded :-)
Right mouse interactions are captured :-)
and now the tricky one, what about those L and R arrow keys?
In the user interface that I capture there is the possibility to increase or decrease values by use of the arrow keys on the keyboard.
These actions need to be captured in the demo, assessment and training mode.
Can you help me with the needed settings to succeed?
PS: I have found out that up down arrow keys are not possible as this is a functionality that eould be taken over by browsers like Explorer for navigation.
I am hoping U out there can help !!!

Currently, Captivate capture does not generate captions for Left, Right, Down, Up arrow keys.

Memory leak when browsing through records

Hello,
I have a problem with any page containing the component related to each other on three or more levels. (1st level ADF Table, 2nd level ADF Table and 3rd level ADF Form)
By navigating through the records of the first level, there is refreshment at other levels (using partial triggers), but suddenly there is loss of memory (memory leak) for components of type Select One Choice.
Precisely, the problem appears when browsing another Show Detail Item in the same page.

Hi,
the screenshot does not indicate a memory leak. Memory leaks show by the server memory consumption that leads to slow performance or stale applications. Your issue seems to be different from that and doesn't really explain in the screen shots. If you have a support contract then customer support is the recommendation I like to give

Tabulation and arrow keys don�t work through ssh

Hi!
I just got a solaris 10 on a v240. But I loggin through SSH, tabulation key and arroy keys don� t work. It � s quite nasty because I cannot just repeat a command for example, I�ve to type it allover again. I� m quite surprised because I have an old solaris where it does work without problem. Should I change something in the configuration?

csh and sh don't support autocompletion or arrow histories. you'd need tcsh or bash or something.

Why doesn't my arrow keys work?

I can not use my arrow keys. When I got into my messages and try to use the arrow keys it brings me back to the main screen.

I filmed a golf swing with my Casio Exilim at 450 fps and transferred the video to my computer. I opened them in QuickTime and encountered the issue. On my old iMac, I could advance the film frame by frame using the arrow keys but on my laptop it won't.
Not familiar with all of the cameras in this line and, as you didn't give a model number, there is no way to look up additional information. However, assuming the "new" platform is running the QT X player (i.e., you still have not indicated which app you are trying to view the file in), and your "old" system may have had the QT 7 Player installed, then you could try simply installing the QT 7 Player v7.6.6 or MPEG Streamclip as previously indicated. If the problem is merely due to the excessively high frame rate (I.e., if your camera does not shoot "muxed" MPEG-2 video) then these QT 7 based apps should work the same as they did on your older system assuming the new system is properly configured with the correct codec components. (I.e., many Casio cameras use compression formats in the AVI file container which may require the Perian codec package also be installed for proper playback.)

Control Using Arrow Keys

Hope someone can help. I am new to Flash CS4 - still learning - and this has had me stumped for days! Deadline is still the same though...
I am redesigning a powerpoint presentation which contains a lot of graphs etc (29 slides total) and I want to animate this in Flash. I have everything drawn up in Illustrator and I'm now at the stage of bringing this all over to Flash.
Once I have everything in Flash and animated, what I want to do is allow the presenter (my client) to control playback using the arrow keys (aka powerpoint). My intention is to have labels at the various stages of the graph where the animation will stop (using stop();) and then when the presenter presses the right arrow key the presentation will continue to play. I also need the left arrow key to go back to the previous label in case they advance too far or they have to go back to review something.
I also wondered what best practice would be when creating something like this. Should I create separate Flash files for each 'slide' and load them (don't really know how to do this) or use separate movie clips for each slide within the one Flash file? My lack of knowledge leaves me wanting to build everything along the one timeline but I guess this would get too complicated...
Apologies if this has been answered elsewhere but after searching both the Adobe site and the web I cannot find a suitable solution.

I have a presentation that I am working on which contains a series of graphs, charts etc that I have animated. This is navigated through by using your earlier code for the arrow keys.
Originally I had everything sitting on one timeline but this was getting too complicated to make the changes that I needed to do so I have spit each section into a separate file - now have 26 files plus the loader.
I now need to be able to move backwards from one loaded movie to the previous one - ie a section loads - the presenter moves through it using the arrow keys, but if they have to go back they can simply keep pressing the arrow key to get to the start of that section and then when they press it again it will load up the previous .swf file (hope this is making sense).
Code I have in my loader file:

Flash template and arrow keys

Using LR 2.2 to generate flash websites. When first visiting the index page
of my LR generated websites, the arrow keys do not work. I have to use a
mouse to advance to the next image, and *then* the arrow keys will advance
to the previous/next image. Why don't the arrow keys work when the site is
first loaded? Behavior is the same for IE and FF.

Using option + arrow keys

Hi All,
Just upgraded to Lion. I am used to using the Option + Arrows keys for back browsing. Lion has changed this to Option + [ key. Is there anyways to change it back?

The changes remain intact for me. Try the following:
1 - delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your
User/Home/Library/ Preferences folder.
2 - delete the contents the following folder:
User/Library/Containers/com.apple.iPhoto
3 - reboot, launch iPhoto and try again.
NOTE: For Mavericks and Yosemite, go to your Home folder and use the View ➙ Show View Options menu to bring the this window:
where you can check the Show Library Folder checkbox.

Traversing JList with arrow keys

I've got a small problem when i try to traverse a JList with the arrow keys. When I'm at the first index of the list and press the UP arrow, I want to select the last index of the list.

Object Positioning with Arrow Keys / Hiting fast (3times) Objekt Moves Back

Good Morning,
Since i updated PS (CS6) the last time it has this very strange behavior when i try to position a object via the Arrow Keys.
When i hit a Button very fast (3 times) the object jumps back to its very first position where i started to move it.
Is this a normal behavior? Or a Bug?
When it is a new "feature" - where can i turn it off?
I ask some friends of mine, but nobody stumbled over it yet.

Sometimes my arrow keys stop working in Firefox; has anyone else seen this? Any ideas on what could be causing this?

Fairly often when I'm using Firefox I'll suddenly find that the arrow keys have stopped working. I could be typing something in a text box and using the arrow keys to navigate the cursor, or I could be using the arrow keys to scroll a page up / down, or anything else, or trying to arrow down through the menu bar selection. It doesn't matter; the arrow keys are completely ignored everywhere within the Firefox program -- except for one case: If I press and hold an arrow key long enough for the auto-key-repeat to kick in, then the arrow key will be recognized and the appropriate response will be performed -- but only rapid-fire, and only for as long as I hold down the arrow key.
When this problem occurs, it's only within Firefox. When I switch over to any other programs that happen to be running, the arrow keys behave normally.
The problem happens often, but not necessarily every time I run Firefox.

I'm having the same problem. I tentatively blame the Adobe Reader plugin. In the current browsing session, the problem occurred when I opened a PDF. As soon as I disabled the Adobe Reader plugin, it went away. I've disabled the plugin and I'll see how things go. I'm running FF7.0.1 on WinXP SP3 with Adobe Reader 10.1.1.33. (I can confirm I'm not accidentally enabling Caret Browsing.)

Easier and safer way is to code form level triggers. I do not recommend to alter the res files for this kind of requests.
Just search the Forum, there are threads with detail explanations on this subject, in fact there was one today.
