Iphoto '11 attaches wrong photos in emails

I have been using iphoto '11 to email photos directly from the app. Frequently, I will send photos and the photos attached will be other photos in my iphoto library, not the ones I selected to send. Sometimes I send the same email to different people and some will get the 3 photos I intended to send and other receipients will get other photos from the library.

Yeah, seriously.  People rant on here all the time.... kinda like your first post.  We're not mindreaders and do not purport to know you mean to ask question unless you ask one.
Anyway, does the same thing happen when you set iPhoto up to use the regular Mail application for emails?  Go into Preferences, General, and under Email Photos Using, choose Mail.  Hopefully, that will work better.

  • Iphoto won't share photos by email, share file won't open.

iphoto won't share photos by email, share file won't open. what do I do?

Remember: we cannot see your machine. There are 9 different versions of iPhoto and they run on 8 different versions of the Operating System. The tricks and tips for dealing with issues vary depending on the version of iPhoto and the version of the OS.  So to get help you need to give as much information as you can. Basic things like :
    - What version of iPhoto.
    - What version of the Operating System.
    - Details. As full a description of the problem as you can. For instance: 'iPhoto won't export' is best explained by describing how you are trying to export, and so on.
    - History: Is this going on long? Has anything been installed or deleted?
    - Are there error messages?
    - What steps have you tried already to solve the issue.
    - Anything unusual about your set up? Or how you use iPhoto?
Anything else you can think of that might help someone understand the problem you have.

  • Iphoto quits while preparting photos for email

I'm using iphoto 4.03. recently, when i try to email selected photos, iphoto quits during the "preparing photos for email" step. i've never had this problem before. any ideas???
    thanks!

Try manually setting the permissions on your iPhoto Library folder and contents as follows:
Setting Permissions for iPhoto Library Folder
1 - Select the iPhoto Library folder and type Command-I.
2 - When the Info window comes up go to the Ownership and Permissions section and make sure You have Read & Write permission and that the Owner and Group have Read & Write also. Others - Read Only.
3 - Then click on the "Apply to enclosed items..." button.

  • TS3276 from iphoto can not share photos via email

error message says "The email server didn’t recognize your username/password combination."
had previously been able to share photos from iphoto via email.  Did not change any settings and cant do so now.
    Help

When I try to share photos via email, iPhoto says the server does not recognize the username/password combination.
Use your iCloud Mail account, when mailing from iPhoto and not email or similar. Sending using iPhoto as Mail client is more robust, if the send "From" in the outgoing mail is set to your iCloud account.

  • Iphoto will not send photos by email?

Help - I have checked all the previous comments on the above issue and have tried the majority of them to no avail.  I have checked another computer's details that now seems to work fine against my own.  I have checked Mail preferences and iPhoto preferences ensuring that all the details were the same.
Have tried deleting iCloud from iPhoto and re-adding, and changing password to ensure it complies.  Run disk utilities and checked that all is okay but still nothing seems to work.  I did transfer from mobile me to iCloud but initially all seemed to work ok, have used the same system for years without any problems, then all of a sudden it stops working.
My outgoing server is smtp.me.com have tried adding mail to it but that does note work.
I use the book facility for holiday photos sending them off to Apple via iPhoto but fear unless I can get this working again may not be able to use this either.
Would appreciate it if anyone else has any ideas what I can try.

in the iPhoto preferences ==> accounts delete your e-mail account and reenter it
    OR
IMHO the better solution is to set Apple mail as the email client in the iPhoto preferences

  • Iphoto won't send photos by email?

Although photos look as though they have been sent by email they are not in fact transmitted. can anyone help please?

Apologies my message was marked MacBookPro (this appears to be highlighted in your reply - I am new to the discussions forum and didn't realise the protocol). I have an IMac 27inch and have made sure that the settings for Apple Mail match those of my MacBookPro are similar to my IMac. The Imac sends photos whereas the MacBookPro doesn't. Whereas AppleMail shows the photos as having been sent with my MacBookPro they are not shown in the in box if I copy them to myself.

  • How can I attach a photo to an existing email ? (iPhone 4s and I don't know what iPhoto is)

Someone please help ! I'm a new owner of an iPhone 4s and I need to attach a photo to an existing email, but can't figure out how to do it. I have no idea what iPhoto is and need every step spelled out, in great detail, as I'm still very new at all the wonders of this great phone.
    Thanks in advance,
    Sandy

There is (to my knowledge) no way to do this with an existing email.  You can create a new email message with a photo attachment from your 'Photos' app though.  Open your photos app, select which photo you want to email, and then click the arrow in the botom left hand corner, and choose 'Mail.

  • My photos shrink in size when emailed from IPHOTO or attached - How can I fix this. My friends say they can't see my pictures... thanks!!

My photos shrink in size when emailed from IPHOTO or attached - How can I fix this. My friends say they can't see my pictures... thanks!!

When you email from iPhoto, you have a choice as to the size of the picture - choose medium and your friends will be able to see them.  By the way, do your friends click on the photo attachment  in the mail to open it?

  • How can I attach a photo from iPhoto to mail as a file and not just put it on the email itself?

How can I attach a photo from iPhoto to mail as a file and not just put it on the email itself?

  • Cant Attach Iphoto Photos into Email?

I always was able to simply attach iphoto photos into an email when I wanted to send a photo to somebody.  Id just click Attach..Then my photos would show up..Id choose one and be done.
However, I just opened IPhoto and it said I needed to update something in order to see my photos.
As soon as I did that, I am no longer to see  my photos when I try to attach one to an email.  I select Attack but then I just see "Iphoto" but it doesnt open up to show my events, folders and individual folders.
Does anyone know why or do I have to change some kind of setting?
At first it said to open iphoto but I did that and it still is not showing my photos.
    I am using LION OS

Make a temporary, backup copy (select the library and type Command+D) and  apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
    Fix #1
Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
Since only one option can be run at a time start with Option #1, followed by #3 and then #4.
    Fix #2
Using iPhoto Library Manager  to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
Download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
Click on the Add Library button, navigate to your Home/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File ➙ Rebuild Library menu option
In the next  window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
    Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments but not books, calendars or slideshows. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.

  • HT204476 iPhoto to Photo update: Can not send attached photos via email!

What in the world happened to the send by email option that was so user friendly in iPhoto and missing in Photo? I can't attach photos from my email client (gmail) either...Any suggestions?

I'm sorry for the confusion. I understand completely how gmail works, that's not the issue. I only included that info as a possible referenc. To be more specific, sharing photos from iPhoto was easy. Options to share using message, email, Facebook, etc were always available. Now that Photo has replaced IPhoto, my share are similar HOWEVER, the option to send or attach via email is not available / blocked out. Does this help?

  • How can I attach a photo as a separate file to an email? (I have tried several of the tricks suggested here and they don't work for me)

I cannot work out how to attach a photo as an attachment to an email.  I have tried several times today using different methods (ie, changing the email to plain text, dragging the photo from Iphoto over the mail icon, emailing directly from Iphoto), but none of them work.  Everything seems to just produce an email with an embedded photo.  Any ideas?

Is this the first time your friend receives e-mail from a Mac user?
It is certainly the first time I have sent her emails from a Mac.  Not sure if she has ever received messages from another Mac user before.
You've sent her e-mails with pictures before, but only now you're having a problem
    Yes, that's correct.
Mail.app offers two settings you can try to manipulate: Edit > Attachments > Always send Windows-friendly attachments, and, Always insert attachments at end of message
I had already tried that and it didn't work.
e-mail client your friend is using
I will find out on Monday when she goes back to work, but I wanted to look at solving the problem firstly from my end.
very likely you're dealing with a problem others have dealt with
Yes, very likely - I searched the site before I posted my own question, and there were quite a number of posts on the same issue.
Again, thanks everyone for your help.  Hopefully we can find a solution.  I am not making you all grope in the dark just to annoy you!!!  I'm just a new Mac user trying to work something out.  I am sorry if it seemed otherwise.
