IPhoto 11 - deleted cover page

Hi,
I accidentally deleted the last cover page. Button to add a page is not working. Option to add a cover page does not exist. Function to repair the structure of the book does not exist or do not know about it..
Any idea?
Help me please, my book has 85 pages and I worked on it for five hours.

I think I found a solution for this! I was having the same problem and not even Apple Support knew what to do. By accident I found a fix. At least, it worked in my book. My problem was that the last greyed out page was missing and the flap had turned to a full size page next to the back cover. The flap and the back cover no longer said "flap" or "back" when you selected them, they acted like pages instead.
Somewhere else in the book add two new pages. You should now have a blank page on the left and a blank page on the right. (I set mine to a spread layout so it was easier to move through the book.) Move those pages between your last page and what is supposed to be the flap and cover. In other words, if you have a 50 page book, and even the very last one has a page number, move these two blank pages between pages 48 and 49. Sounds hokey but here is what happened for me: The first new blank page remained blank but magically the second blank page was grey. I double clicked it to enlarge and my flap and back cover were formatted right and said "flap" and "back" once again. I swear this worked in my project.
I couldn't reproduce the original issue in a new book. It is worth a try though because it saved me the trouble of recreating a 30 hour book project. Hope that works for you.

Project deleted in iPhoto 11 ver. 9.1.1
After spending three months building a twenty six page Book Project in iPhoto i added a page and later decided to delete the page. I selected the page, pressed the delete key and confirmed the delete dialog box ( i didn't read, dummy) by pressing the delete button. The whole project was gone, the undo menu was grayed out and there was nothing in the iPhoto trash about my Book.
Surly I can find this if I knew the path to find the project in a library on a back column I have of my hard drive.. Could anyone help me?

Sorry I'm having a hard time getting this.
If I go to my hard drive BIGMAC>Library>Application Support>iPhoto>the only thing in this folder is Themes.
However, when I "Get Info" it's 580MB for 24,421 items. iPhoto says I have 35,977 photos. I would think the database would be into the GB for this many photos.
If I go to BIGMAC>system>Library>I find nothing about iPhoto
Is the iPhoto file in the Application Support the one I need to replace with my backup?
Thanks so much for your help.

  • Iphoto book - problem with deleting extra pages

I am finishing up a book with iphoto of 85 pages of photos.  I want to delete 6 empty pages, but when I go to All Pages View, hold control key and click, the only option is to add pages.  I don't want to purchase book and assume apple won't charge/print the blank pages.  Any suggestions?  and I'm on a deadline so don't want to go to the store....

Try going to the page view and Control (right) - clicking on the page you want to delete:

  • How to delete a page from journal in iOS iphoto

I have a journal in iphoto for ios in my iphone.  how does one remove or delete a page from the journal?

I was finally able to remove my extra pages this way, too (Journal, Edit, click Page 1, etc.), but for several days I couldn't because the option to remove pages wasn't there.  I thought at first that maybe only the iPad (not iPhone) version of iPhoto had this option.  Then I checked again for maybe the 4th time, and the option was there.  I don't think there was an iPhoto app update during that time, so I don't know what happened.

  • Can't delete a page in iphoto (actually 2 pgs) even tho over min.

hardback book has 28 pages total so i'm over the minimum.  there are 2 blank pages at the end.  i can get to menu to delete and am prompted twice but it won't execute.  i tried rebooting, previewing, etc.  i really don't want to recreate book.  any thoughts?

thanks.  i'm aware of the adding/deleting and the requirements of pagination.  by all accounts, i SHOULD be able to delete these pages.  i can get to the menu Remove Page - it's black (not greyed out) - and i click the button.  iPhoto just doesn't execute the command...any other thoughts?

  • Weird Symbol On Cover Page

I have a new book in iPhoto 11 ready to order but there remains a weird symbol on the cover page outside the normal text box. I can't delete it and it shows up in the preview, pfd view, and slideshow view so I am not ready to pay for the book until I figure out how to remove it. It look like the bottom half of a capital "A". There doesn't seem to be any text box tho edit.
    Any thoughts?

Same here, but I'm stuck with a lowercase f on the cover. (lower right corner)
It seems to be part of the background.
When I change the layout to a full page image, even with a text field, the annoying f is hidden.
All other layouts show the unremovable f.
Every form of preview shows it as well.
    Help appreciated...

  • Is it possible to ignore the cover page of a document when viewing two pages at a time.

when viewing a document with two pages up at a time, I want to ignore the very first page/cover page in the document so that all subsequent pages line up correctly. I can't find how to do this, is it possible. I cannot extract or delete the first page b/c the document is protected. I don't want to modify the document in any way. This document is a catalog that has information spread across two pages. So, when the cover page is included in the two page scroll viewing option, all the corresponding pages are offset by one page. I want the cover page to be at the top, by itself and the rest of the pages to show side by side.

Show - Page Display - tick Show Cover Page in Two Page View.

  • IPhoto book cover misprint

The new version of iPhoto (9.2) duplicates the book title in the lower right of the cover. This seems not to be a dsiplay artifact, the pdf  shows it as well. This occurs on the "Simple Border" theme and one or two others. It may be the "spine" print, but if so will print on the front cover and will be horizontal text, not the vertical expected. Anyone know how to remove the text - without changing the theme?

Larry - thanks for the reply,
but I should have mentioned that, that is how I generated the pdf that I mentioned in the original post.
The duplicate of the book title appears three times: 1) as expected, 2) on the spine - in vertical type and 3) unwelcome - in the lower right of the cover page. Pretty sure this is a "bug" in the 9.2 s/w but "hope springs eternal", I thought someone might know a way of avoiding it short of changing styles and all of the nuisance that implys.

  • Photo Book: Alert Symbol/Deleting Blank Pages?

    Greetings,
    Two questions:
(I'm assembling a photo book for the first time...)
    1. What does it mean when there's a small yellow alert symbol (a yellow triangle) in the upper right corner of my image?
    2. How do I delete blank pages from the end of my photo book? I've created too many...
    Thanks!
    -Mark

It means your photo is below 180 dpi
    LN
PS you may find a couple of things useful
1 - iPhoto have a neat system called HELP - click on the HELP menu and ask your question
The reaults for "Yellow Triangle" includes the following
If you see a low-resolution alert
A digital photo is made up of millions of individual dots of color, called “pixels.” A photo’s “resolution” is the number of dots per inch (dpi) that it contains. The higher the resolution, the more dots per inch. Some photos look jagged or blurry when printed if their resolution is too low.
When you include low-resolution photos in a book, calendar, card, or print order, an alert symbol marks those photos.
To improve a photo’s print quality:
Choose a smaller print size. In a book or calendar layout, you can do this by increasing the number of photos per page.
If you previously cropped the photo, revert to its original version, and then crop off a smaller portion, or leave it uncropped.
If you positioned a photo within its frame by zooming in on it, zoom out of the photo.
If you continue to see a low-resolution alert after trying these methods, you can still order prints of the image or include it in your book, calendar, or card, but it may not print as clearly as your other photos.

  • How to hide the cover page when printing ?

    Dear all,
I would like to change printings option for the report S_ALR_87013611.
I would like to hide the cover page (with parameter) when printing.
How can I do that ?
    Thanks for your help
    Best regards

    Hi,
Do you mean the part of the report, which contains the report name, selection date, controlling area,
Fiscal year, and other selection data?
If yes, then you could proceed as follows: As the 1SIP-001 (S_ALR_87013611) is a standard report, please copy this report with name in the customer naming range and then delete the title page from the copied report as follows:
    1.  Call GRR2, in the library 1VK place the cursor on report 1SIP-001 and click on the icon 'Copy'
    2.  In the 'To report' field enter (for example) ZSIP-001 and press  'Enter'
    3.  Now double-click on ZSIP-001 to enter the report definition.
    4.  Under 'Extras' -> 'Report texts' -> 'Title page' call the title page.
    5.  Choose 'Text' -> 'Delete' and the title page lines are removed.
    6.  Click on the 'Save' icon to save this.
    7.  Assign the report to a new report group by choosing 'Environment'
-> 'Assign report group' from the menu and enter ZSIP in the popup,
confirming the next popup that the report group should be created.
Now call txn GR55 and execute report group ZSIP with your selection
criteria and follow the steps to print the report:
    - click 'printer icon' - mouseover text 'Print (ctrl+P)'
    - click OK with dot in 'current report'
    - click OK with dot in 'Print formatted report (page length 59)
    - on print parameter screen in menu, blank the 'SAP cover page' field.

  • Laserjet Pro 400 MFP Cover Page

We just installed the above multi-function device. I understand the software included with this device in limited in capability with its scan to fax function.
Currently this deice won't add cover pages unless the needed cover page is scanned in addition to the file being faxed OR the needed cover page is added to the file being sent.

    MY Question:
    1. What HP software will work with this device and give us this function, Even if that software wasn’t designed for that device? I understand that using any such software would be done at my own risk.
    2. I would like a list of devices that include this function in the supplied software.

  • Page numbers from MS Word cannot be deleted in pages

A colleague sent me a MSWord (Mac) document that I opened in pages 09 and started working on it. I need to delete the page numbers that were put in on the MSWord document. I guess they were put in using the automatic page numbering feature in Word. However, In the Pages09 document they are not in the usual footer location. It almost looks like they are part of the page background. They are not selectable and cannot be removed. It I choose to add page numbers using Pages, they numbers appear in the usual footer location—in addition to and not supplanting– the unselectable page numbers brought over from MSWord. Does anybody know a solution to this?

    Loren,
The persistent content usually is a Master Object. So, you were right to begin with: Format > Advanced > Make Master Objects Selectable. One would think that if this is always the solution, it would be a simple matter to now select the tenacious item and delete it. The problem is that sometimes the object while now selectable is still not accessible.
This Master Object can hide behind the Header box, as though the Header was a solid glass wall. Deselecting the Header function, in the Document Inspector, will give you access, but it will also irretrievably delete your Header Content. A better way, I have found, is to change the header Margin figure in the Document Margins Pane of the Document Inspector.
Once you have moved the Header, Footer, or whatever else might be sharing the space, off the persistent page number, you can click on the page number Object and hit Delete. Now you can put back whatever you had to move, and you should be good to go. Consider yourself lucky if your Pages header doesn't fall over the old Word Header.
