IPhoto 11: How to view "all photos" while in full screen mode

In iPhoto, when it's not in full screen mode, if you click photos in the sidebar (under Library), you get a nice view of ALL your photos, and you have the option to sort them by event. When you go from this view straight to full screen mode, it stays this way, which in my case is particularly useful since I like to move photos around from event to event. However, staying in full screen mode, as soon as I click an any other of the menus at the bottom (events, faces, places, albums, projects), I cannot find anyway to get back to the "all photos" view, other than to take it OUT of full screen mode, click on "Photos" in the side bar, and then go back to full screen mode. Either I am missing something that is glaringly obvious, or this is a rather annoying oversight by Apple. It seems like it would be natural to have "Photos" be one of the options along with Events, Faces, Places, Albums and Projects in full screen mode. Right now the only work around I've been able to come up with (aside from going back and forth with fullscreen mode), and to hit "command F" while in full screen mode, and then type "i", which will give me what I am want only because all my photos start with "i". Not a very elegant work around, I know, but perhaps I am missing something very obvious.
Thanks for any advice!
James

In case my description isn't clear, here is a screenshot of exactly the view in full screen mode I am talking about  that I can't seem to return to once I leave it, other than to go back to non full screen mode or use the search trick.

  • How to view the program panel in full screen mode?

I know how to make the program panel full screen using the "~" key, but I would like to view my work completely without borders. Similar to using Quicktime or Windows media player. I can't imagine that this feature doesn't exist. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

This feature is new to CS6. Hit ctrl+` (ctrl+grave).

  • How do I play a video in full-screen mode on one screen of a dual-screen Windows 7 system without blanking out the other screen?

How do I play a video in full-screen mode on one screen of a dual-screen Windows 7 system without blanking out the other screen?  Not losing the other screen would be useful as I would like to, for example, monitor my emails whilst watching a video or to work on a project whilst watching an instructional video.
Note : Resizing a window to fill the screen is not acceptable as it still leaves unsightly borders.

  • How do you exit a game from full screen mode when the game has crashed?

    Hey there
There has seriously got to be a better way of exiting a crashed game than just turning the power off.
I sometimes play Sims 3 on my mac, and we all know that Sims 3 is the most poorly coded game out there, so it crashes a lot. I don't understand how you can get out of the full screen without switching the machine off the wrong way.
I have tried every single keyboard command people say to exit full screen mode, but they don't work when the game has crashed! In fact pressed every single button on the keyboard to try and exit, but nothing works.
On Windows it's so simple, you press the start button on the keyboard, but on a mac it doesnt work.
So any help to what i can do?
    Thanks

Force quit just the game itself.
    Command + option + esc
It's like control + alt + delete on Windows.

  • "Fit to Screen" while in full screen mode - image fits behind palettes.

Is there a way to "fit to screen" when in full screen mode and NOT have my image go behind my open palettes (Layers, etc.)? I am hoping there's a way for me to hit command zero and have my image fit perfectly between palettes. Every time I hit command zero I have to readjust my image or zoom out so I can see the whole thing. (Photoshop CS5)

Not that I know of.  I address this problem two way.  I add a second display an move the Photoshop Pallets I use the most out of Photoshop's main window onto the second display docked to each other and open expanded.  The Palettes I do not use often I dock to Photoshop Main windows right side collapsed. Even if you do a view actual pixel Photoshop only zoom the image area to all the space between the docked tools palette on the left and the collapse docked palettes on the right. The pallet are only over the image window when you expand one open to use it. If you view the following screen capture in a new tab or window you can scale it to its actual size and scroll around over it. My TwoScreen workspace....

  • How to disable app from opening into full screen mode

Dear all I'm on OSX 10.8.4 and every time i start an app it'll go to full screen even after quiting it and opening the app again. Is there a way to stop this from happening

Full-screen mode is controlled by you. If you take it OUT of full-screen mode (go to the very top right of the screen, wait for the menubar to drop down, click the blue inward-facing arrow icon), and THEN quit the app, it will remember the preference and open in normal windowed-mode next time.

  • How to activate windows screensaver in PDF full screen mode?

    Hey everyone!
We have some PDF based product presentations that we show on plasma screens. Recently we renewed our computes and switched from Vista to Windows 7, as well as Adobe Reader 9.3 to X.
Since this change the Windows screensaver doesn't activate when a PDF document is displayed in full screen mode.
I've already tried to install Adobe Reader 9.3 again, but it seems that this has nothing to do with the Reader version but with Windows 7.
Can someone please confirm this? I want to get sure this is indeed the case with Windows 7.
The more important question is: How can I get the sceensaver running again?
    Thank you in advance!

On Windows, this will be fixed in Firefox 30 (the next release, currently in [http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/beta/ beta]). In the mean-time there are apparently [https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=517870#c35 workarounds].
For Mac OS X & Linux however, this is not fixed yet.

  • How to view all photo's in an Aperture project using Front Row?

My projects have folders below them where I actually store the photos. In Front Row I cannot select a "top level folder" (let's say a project in Aperture) and press the play button on the Apple remote. Instead, it drills down into the project/folder until I have reached a folder that doesn't contain subfolders anymore. The effect is that I cannot simply see all photos in a project.
I suppose I can work around this by creating a dummy folder in the project, copying all photos of the project into that folder and use that to view it in Front Row, but I'm hoping there is a setting somewhere that would circumvent this stupid behavior?

    Hello Keaux2r,
Do you mean that you want to use command to remotely check the updates?
We could use the PsExec tool to conduct the remote control.
    1. Download the tool and copy to file to C:\Windows\System32
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb897553.aspx
    2. Run cmd as administrator
    3. We could run the command psexec \\<computername > -u <username> -p <password> <command> to run command in remote computer.

  • How do i Simulate my project in full screen mode? Is it possible?

i can't figure out how to simulate my project in full screen
    thanks.

    It is COMPLETELY possible
You only need to connect a second computer monitor (only supported on PowerMacs and Powerbooks), go to Simulator preferences and select that screen for preview. I use that all the time. BTW, if you get an Apple DVI to video adapter, you can send that preview to a video monitor.
    Hope this helps.

  • How to View Slideshow but NOT in FULL SCREEN?

I often would like to start a slideshow of images on my mac but I don't want it to take up the whole screen. I just want to view the slideshow in a window. I have tried both iPhoto and Preview and can't figure out how to do that. Is there a way to do that in either of those apps?
    thanks

    HI,
I like iPhoto for slideshows. Preview doesn't support the enhancements such as the Ken Burns effects or audio like iPhoto does.
Open iPhoto. Select a slideshow in the source list on the left.
Click the Settings button at the bottom of that window.
Make sure: *Scale photos to fill screen* is not selected.
If you need more help, post in the iPhoto Forum

  • Empty space while in full screen mode

Hi there, today after the installation of OSX Maverick, i've started to experience some problems with the new dock bar. When i try to use VLC in full screen mode, i see an empty space on the top of the screen, and the dock bar on the top does not wants to hide away of the monitor. I printed a screenshot of my monitor that you can see down there, and i'd like to know if there's someone else with my same issues, or if it's me, and i just need to set up my MacBook Pro, to solve that.
On the top of the picture you can see that there's still an empty space, where i can still see my background image.http://imageshack.us/f/196/go1p.png/
Thanks for your help and sorry for my bad english. Cheers.

I have the same problem at times. I exit full screen and then enter back into full screen. Does that work for you?
