iPhoto 11 (9.1.5) started freezing. The appln opens, all seems OK. When I select photos or categories: events, last import etc. I reinstalled with no change.

backup your iPhoto library and depress the option and command keys and launch iPhoto - repair the library - if that does not fix it do it again and rebuild

I found that if you open iMage Capture App that seems to trigger iPhoto to open and thew camera is connected. At least that happens with my camera. Good luck.

Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one. .

After installing Mavericks, I found that my Apple Apps (iBooks, App Store, Maps, iCalendar, iBooks, etc) will open but freeze or are none responsive. I have reinstalled Mavericks, did a recovery and reinstall, almost everything that I could find in other discussions. They only thing that helped was the recovery, until I tried to reinstall Mavericks. Someone please help.....

OS X Recovery does restore OS X meaning Mavericks.
Make sure there's enough storage space ...
Click your Apple menu  top left in your screen. From the drop down menu click About This Mac > More Info > Storage
You'll see Available and Capacity. Make sure there's at least 15% available disk space.
The startup disk may need repairing ...
Launch Disk Utility located in HD > Applications > Utillities
Select the startup disk on the left then select the First Aid tab.
Click: Verify Disk (not Verify Disk Permissions)
If DU reports errors, restart your Mac while holding down the Command + R keys. From there you should be able to access the built in utilities in OS X Recovery to repair the startup disk.
Make sure to back up all important files first before using OS X Recovery.
OS X Recovery does require a broadband high speed internet connection.

IPhoto 09 Installed but freezes when opened

Hi all, upgraded to iPhoto 09, but freezes when opened, tried a new library with iPhoto manager, rebuilt permissions, erased preferences etc, tried it as a new user... still no luck.... any ideas ?

Iphoto will open but wont load

My iphoto on my macbook will open but the gear circle just keeps turning and turning ... nothing happens, the pictures will not load, will not recognize iphone. I tried deleting the app and re-installing it but same thing happened. Help. thanks

Try the following to see if you possibly have a corrupted iPhoto library -
Launch iPhoto while holding down the option key on your keyboard.
Select Create New... from the dialog that appears.
See if it opens normally with a blank library. If it does, the problem is with the old iPhoto library.
If that is the case, first thing to do is make a copy of your old iPhoto library, so you will have a backup if anything further goes wrong. Then relaunch iPhoto again holding down the option key and selecting the old library. You will get the gear circle again. Force quit and then follow the steps in this Apple article for rebuilding the iPhoto library.

Entourage opens but freezes after 10.5.1 update

Installed 10.5.1 and whilst all other Office 2004 programs seem ok Entourage opens but then just sits there with the spinning ball.
Tried restarting and Repaired Permissions.
Anyone got any ideas what next, or least a suggestion how I might get to my Mail Folders as I can use the Web interface for Mail in the meantime.
Fortunately I have been using Time Machine before and after update, so assume I can retrieve any corrupted files but it all looks ok when it opens anyway.

I didn't repair the permissions until I experienced the problems with Pages after the initial installation. After I did this, things worked fine. Like I said, after updating to 10.5.1 yesterday, the problem returned and after repairing permissions didn't get things back to normal, I reinstalled iWork '08.
Here's something odd. Even though I trashed the entire iWork '08, when I reinstalled, the installer told me that zero space was required to install iWork '08. So maybe there's some other disk issue involved?
The Repair Disk option is grayed out in Disk Utilities. There's an instruction to run the reapir application from a CD or DVD, but Leopard only has one installation disk and it doesn't have any independently running repair program on it.

IPhoto '11 opens but any selection gets spinning wheel

I can open iPhoto, and when it opens the last event selected is shown. As soon as I make any selection, I get the spinning ball and have to Force Quit to get out.
I am on OS 10.7.4 and have a very full hardrive (36GB available out of 500GB).

As a Test:
Hold down the option (or alt) key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Create Library'
Import a few pics into this new, blank library. Is the Problem repeated there?

Iphoto is open but I can't see it

I was just working in iphoto, copying pics in and out of iphoto, and I pushed the window so it was out of the way at the bottom of my screen. When I went back to it, I couldn't 'find' it. I clicked on the iphoto icon, and at the top of the screen I see the menu bars for the program, but the actual window with all my pics is missing. I restarted and rebooted a few times, no luck. Please help!! (I'm currently running OSX Version10.7.5)

2. If an external display is connected and turned off, either turn it on or disconnect it.
3. Open Mission Control. Close all desktops except Desktop 1 by positioning the cursor over each one and then clicking the X button in the top left corner. In Desktop 1, move the missing window, if need be, so that it won't be hidden behind the Dock.

CS6 Free Trial opens but crashes as soon as I try to do anything.

Downloaded free trial of photoshop CS6 tonight. It opens just fine, but as soon as I attempt to do anything, it crashes. Any ideas?

Did you receive any error messages during the installation process? You can review your installation log to double check by following the directions listed at Troubleshoot with install logs | CS5, CS5.5, CS6 - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/troubleshoot-install-logs-cs5-cs5.html. What operating system are you using btw?

ITunes 11.1.5 (64-bit) tries to open, but freezes Windows 7 (64-bit)

Even when it does manage to open, it instantly becomes unresponsive. Browser and other computer tasks become unresponsive. The task manager takes longer that usual to open when it does open. Had to shut down processes in task manager to take control of the system back. Had to force shut off PC twice because at one point the pointer and touchpad functions became unresponsive. Uninstall and re-install results in the same. It started when I dragged 146 re-tagged songs to the "Automatically add to iTunes" folder. At the moment I have over 32,000 files in iTunes.
I used Mp3tag to re-tag the mp3 files I tried to drag in. Although these songs where in iTunes while they were being tagged, I only retagged titles and artists, I didn't even add images to the mp3 files so I don't see why it would be too much work for iTunes to classify the previous versions as missing (as it always does) and just add the new files as it always did.
Of course this retagging process could have nothing to do with what is happening. I went back and extracted the songs from the "Automatically add to iTunes" folder (yes they were still there, all of them) and set them aside in a different location to see if it relieved iTunes from the workload, but no change. I tried uninstalling and installing an older version (11.1.3) but it didn't work. I uninstalled and tried to re-install 11.1.5 but the same thing is happening.
I just tried to view a CD I put in my PC with the purpose to rip it, and iTunes did the same thing.
I run Windows 7 (64-bit), with 70GB of storage available (of 449), Intel Core i7-2670QM Processor, and 8GB of RAM to work with.

There are several ways an add-on can cause iTunes to act erratically, such as those listed below:
- Loss of iTunes functionality, such as the Visualizer
- Distortion or irregularity in the iTunes interface
- Slow performance
- iTunes won't open or quits unexpectedly
- You see this alert while syncing: "... cannot be synced. A duplicate file name was specified."
If you see the above symptoms or other unusual behavior, you can disable any third-party plug-ins by opening iTunes in Safe Mode:
- OS X: Hold down Option-Command.
- Windows: Hold down Shift-Control while opening iTunes.
If opening iTunes in safe mode resolves your issue, see the above resource for steps you can take to minimize impact.

Mozilla FireFox opens but freezes right away

Hi guys,I don't know if you guys can help me with this problem but,my Mozilla FireFox was working yesterday 6/11
and I turned my computer on today and tried to browse the internet and my FireFox opened to my homepage and
when I went to type in something in the search bar it froze,I tried to UN-install it from control panel and it didn't let
me so I UN-installed it from CCleaner,then I re-installed it and it still has the same problem,right now I'm using
