IPhoto 2 seems to run incredibly slow after installing 10.4.6 OSX

My imac seems to crawl if I run iPhoto since I installed OSX 10.4.6. I am running iPhoto 2 but cant seem to find a way to move it to iPhoto 6. Is this affecting my performance (running such an old version of iPhoto on the new OSX system?)

How much RAM and how much free space on your boot drive do you have?
Try keeping all of the rolls closed except for those you're working with, keep the thumbnail size to about 4-5 across and turn off the drop shadow in iPhoto's Preferences. That will speed up iPhoto 2 somewhat.
If you tried to run the iPhoto 6 updater and couldn't that's because it will only work with iPhoto 6.0 or newer. iPhoto 6 is only available thru the purchase of iLife 06.

My mbp (mid 2010) is running extremely slow after installing some mavericks updates on May 22nd. Earlier I thought this behavior is due to spotlight indexing but it finished after 3 days. I deleted all caches from library. But no luck, still running extremely slow. I checked activity monitor for cpu usage, it shows above 90% is idle. The memory usage always shows PM - 4 GB, Memory Used 3.96 GB, VM - 4 GB, Swaped used 0 bytes, App Memory 1.82 GB, File Cache 1.44 GB, Wired Memory 480 MB.

Was it the combo updater that was installed or the OS X 10.9.3 update. There is a difference.

Apple updates available from the Software Update application are incremental updates. Delta updates are also incremental updates and are available from Apple Downloads (software updates are generally smaller than delta updates). The Combo updates contain all incremental updates and will update files that could have become corrupted.
Combo updaters will install on the same version as they're applying--no need to roll back or do a clean install. So if you think you've got a borked 10.8.4 install from a regular update, just run the 10.8.4 Combo Updater on that system.
"Delta" updaters can only take you from one version to the next. For example: 10.9.1 to 10.9.2. If somehow the 10.9.2 is missing something it should have, and that something isn't changed between 10.9.1 and 10.9.2 it will still be stale after the delta update.

Early 2011 MacBook Pro incredibly slow after installing Mavericks

I'm really hoping someone can help me out. As per the subject line, I installed Mavericks on day one (and learned my lesson!).
Since installing Mavericks my MacBook Pro runs incredibly slow. If I open the Mail App and Safari - it almost grinds to a halt. I have the "Memory Clean" App which I now have to run constantly (it appears to help a little) and I try to only launch one app at a time where possible, but it's not really pratical.
As an aside, my MacBook ran really well with Mountain Lion, so there's little doubt to my mind that Mavericks is the culprit.
I'd be eternally grateful for any help & advice :-)

CleanMyMac is probably your problem.
CleanMyMac is crapware.
Crapware is anything that purports to "optimize", "clean", "accelerate", "monitor", or "protect" your Mac. These apps are unnecessary, poorly written, overpriced (if they were free, they'd still be overpriced), and harmful. The people who sell this stuff know this, but they keep selling it because people keep buying it. They can damage your OS and be difficult to uninstall.
I would try to uninstall it, but if that fails, you may have to erase your HD and do a clean install.

System running ridiculously slow after installing Yosemite and Adobe CC

SInce installing Yosemite and upgrading to Adobe CC for all my design apps, my computer runs soooooo slow. Since then, I've run all the disk utility stuff and upgraded from 8gb to 12gb of RAM. HP Truevision HD running very slow after installing windows 8

I have hp 1000-1140TU Notebook PC.
It came with Windows7-Home Basic and CyberLink YouCam worked smooth on it.
Since i've installed windows8, and installed Cyberlink YouCam for windows8, my webcam is running really slow! There is too much lag. Please help?

Did you verify that all of the required drivers were installed after the Win8 install was complete?
You can check that by clicking on the search charm and then typing in Device Manager and clicking on the device manager icon that appears.

I've heard of problems with the multiple 8.0 updates and how people have run into different issues but is anyone else experience INCREDIBLY SLOW service? I can be connected onto wifi in my house but often run into "no connection" problems with my apps and internet. Even turning off wifi and using data, I still constantly run into that problem. Neither seem to work properly. This is also interfering with my text messages in that they are taking average of 4-6 minutes to send. Sometimes they don't even go through. I get the best reception is uncommon places like some parking structures but never seem to have reception at shopping centers or on a college campus. I don't know if it's just my phone but this has been an ongoing issue since I updated to the 8.0 software, I think it's up to 8.3 or something now. Does anyone else share these problems and at a consistent rate?

FFirst try a hard reboot. Hold the power and home button until the phone cycles off, then on again. Then release.
if that fails, try a reset to factory, then restore with iTunes or iCloud.

Firefox seems to run much slower after the update. My computer is old. Can I go back to an older version?

Does the new firefox require a better computer than the old versions? My internet has seemed to slow down considerably after updating to firefox 7. Is the new version of firefox the problem, or is it something else wrong with my computer? If it is firefox, how do I go back to another version?

Also as I change between windows the whole screen is blurred with horizontal lines. Once safari, email or another app opens up it take a few minutes before I can actually use it. Try disabling the Lion resume feature. That may help the long startup problem.
Open System Preferences > General
Deselect: Restore windows when quitting and re-opening apps
And delete any items in Sytem Preferences > Users & Groups > Login Items
And check /Library/StartupItems
If nothing above has helped, the startup disk may need repairing.

My computer is INCREDIBLY slow after Yosemite install

I recently installed the latest operating system Yosemite for my Apple Mac Pro and ever since it has been installed, my computer has been INCREDIBLY slow! Everything from starting up to applications opening to the **** internet! I'm ready to punch my fist into my **** monitor, even though I know it's not my monitor's fault. lol. Macworld has published an article (http://www.macworld.com/article/2837811/bugs-and-fixes-solving-a-yosemite-post-i nstall-disaster.html) about this along with the problem they think is causing it but I checked and the file in question doesn't exist on my computer. I don't want to go through the last step that is mentioned which involves downloading Yosemite onto an external hard drive and then installing from there. That step would also involve manually searching for files that might be causing the issue.
So, has anyone else experienced their computers running REAL slow after the update and did you figure out a simple solution?

Can anyone help me - my late 2011 Macbook Pro is running very slow since installing Yosemite. Also my Microsoft Office for Excel is not allowing me to type into cells - I can copy and paste but not add new text.
