IPhoto 5 supported file formats

I've joined a few photos together in Photoshop to make a landscape & don't want to add any more compression to the shots (by re-jpegging a jpeg etc.) so I was planning to save the final file as a TIF (or TIFF?) file but when I do so & try & import it, I get an error message.
It's RGB & I've re-saved it with a variety of options. "None" for compression, Mac format, deleting channels & paths etc. but the error message is still coming up.
Is it a simple case that TIFs are nor supported or is there something else I can try?

Okay, having tried every combination & variation I could think of, I figured it out so here's the solution in case it helps anyone else:
Don't put the image file INTO the iPhoto library before importing it, which is what I was doing.
Put it somewhere outside, like the desktop, & then import it & let iPhoto file it correctly.
D'oh!

  • Supported file formats in Photoshop CS6

This question was posted in response to the following article: http://helpx.adobe.com/content/help/en/photoshop/using/supported-file-formats-photoshop-cs 6

I am getting all sorts of confusing formats, when I want to save in jpeg, it attaches de suffix .iff,  if I want to place the jpeg suffix to a file, I have to save it as JPEG STEREO...  If I choose from menu window  IFF format, it affixes the .CIN name, so all in all it's screwed up as far as I can tell... and there is no way I have found to fix these.  Please let me know what to do.

  • Show and Share supported file formats

I have noticed that audio files that are uploaded in the .mp3 and .wma are not converted to any other formats.  Because of this, .mp3 do not play in the iPhone app and .wma will not play on a Mac or the iPhone app.
I would like a clairification.  I thought our MXE would re-encoded any supported file formats that could be uploaded successfully in to a format that could be streamed to any device.  Is this not true?

I confirmed that the Mobile Application Access is still checked.
Not sure what I am looking for on the MXE.
Do you mean the Setup / MXE Settings tab on the SnS server?
If so I only see a section to Allow users to trancode Window Media Files on non-mobile devices and it is checkied.
Or are you talking about something on the MXE like the Windows Media Profile?
    It shows WebEx_SNS_WMV, WMV_16x9 and WMV_4x3

  • Supported file format for MS translation via API call

    Hi,
I am evaluating MS Translator APIs and I have a couple of questions.
    (1) What kind of file formats does MS Translator supports?
    (2) Is there any code sample to translate the file(instead of just the string text) by calling the API?
    Thanks.
    Wei

    Hi Wei,
    (1) The supported text formats are plain text and HTML.
    (2) Such a sample is not part of our provided documentation. The leading TM tools which offer integration with the Microsoft Translator service offer a variety of file format conversions.

  • Problem with video support file format VOB (Video Object)

I have created a project with VOB files which premiere pro cs4 supported orginally but after an update from adobe it now suddenly it will not recognize them, marking them in the timeline as 'Media offline'. I have tryed to relink them but I kept running into the same problem - 'File format not supported'. I have checked Premiere pro cs4 help and it states that it does support VOB files which it did orginally. I can not tell if it is a codecs problem or not. Help anyone???

  • Supported File Format

I have an older Hitachi DVD-Cam that I used to use with my Windows based PC. I'm now trying to find an application that will allow me to work with the VRO files and the camcorder using my iMac without having to switch over to Parallels. I was told Final Cut Express would handle it, but I cannot see where it states that specific format is supported. I have already wasted money on other applications that said they would support it but didn't, so I want to make sure before I spend more $$.
Will Express support this format or is there another application I should be looking at so I can copy from the camcorder and edit the files?
    Thanks,
    Robert

    Thanks for the prompt response.
The camera is a Hitachi DZ-MV380A; one of the DVD Ram cameras. The only thing it says about the format is "Conforming to DVD video recording standard (MPEG Audio layer 2), but when I look at what it stores on the disc it is in a .VRO file extension. I know it takes stills and stores them as JPEG extensions, but it is the video aspect I want to try and work with.
Any thoughts and suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,

  • List of supported file formats??

    Hey all -
I am looking for a list of files that FCP supports. I need to send out a list to my pro staff so they know what file formats to get their video in before sending it to me. I looked at the FCP specs but didn't find this info.
    Anyone have an idea?
    Thanks!
    Tim

By the time you combine resolutions, frame rates and compression codecs, FCP will literally support 100's of combinations.
The only somewhat abbreviated list can be found under the System Settings dialog, Effects Handling.
These are the file types FCP can typically handle with little or no rendering (real-time).
You should establish a resolution, frame rate and file format (codec), or a very short list, and tell them that's your preference. You do not (probably) want dozens of different FCP compatible files delivered for editing.

  • Suddenly non supported file format

My HDD where the project files reside crashed and after a few day's work I manage to get everything back.
Premiere Pro CS6 Crash. First "this project contained a sequence that could not be opened" And now "The file has an unsupported compression type". First issue solved but not the file system one. This is on a project I've been working on for a few months. Other software like VLC can use the files so the files seems to be ok. The problem file format is m2ts untouched from cam. And it have been working for a long time before this crash. Dedicated this weekend for the final editing of this project and now.... Sitting here with a beer and cant do nothing.....

First. It is not the lack of payment issue I complain about. It is the fact that when payment is not made I get "punished" by having to reinstall the whole cloud. Why isnt the restrictions alone enough? Since it goes back to trail why isnt that enough? If I cant have money on my card when it's time for the monthly payment, I should face limitations for that. That I do. But lets put this in a example. I'm away on a film job out in the field. It gets extended by a week and when I get back home the schedule for editing is down a week due to the extra filming. And since it was hectic out in the field I forgot/no time to make sure there was enough with money on the card for the subscribtion. So when I get home and have set aside time for editing around the clock I have to start with the payment issue. That is taken care of in a few seconds. But then the annoying part is starting. Uninstalling everything, downloading, installing, updating, installing plugins, updating. 100 reboots....  That is extremely annoying. A lot of inspiration for the editing project and a lot of time is lost. And for what reason?
Second. Who is going to pay the extra credit card I have to have if following your suggestion? Adobe? Probably not. You? Probably not. Meaning that the fee for the cloud went up a little for me. I understand the benefits for that function but in my case it would only be good for the cloud subscription. And that alone is not a good solution for this issue.
Third. Well I still think this is a bug, unless Adobe have this function implemented to punish people who doesnt pay on time. Then naturally it is not a bug. Maybe Adobe can answer if this is a function that they like or if this is a bug?
Fourth. If I should get punished why not having a re activation fee instead? I would gladly pay a few bucks to get the software funcioning directly after I pay my subscribtion. That would benefit both me and Adobe. Why sabotage my work? Who is gaining from that?
Fifth. I have no proof for this. But I also do not want to try it again next month. The time to un-install and re-install is to expencive right now. If I'm wrong I will crawl to the altar and say I'm sorry. But It would also be nice if Adobe did the same if they are wrong.

  • Not supported file format in PSE7 organizer

    Hi,
I'm facing the a problem with a Nikon D40x: the downloader tool in PSE7 is not working with my camera (in contrast to the PSE5 one). It does not recognize the file format of the .NEF files stored on the SD-card. This hold true also for the organizer: it is not possible to import photos lying on the harddisk into the organizer (invalid file type). the open dialog does not shop those files as media files. Only in the 'all files' view they are visible but not loadable. Surprisingly it is possible to edit those photos with the PSE7 editor, works smoothly.
The Nikon fix kb407110 did not work for me. I also uninstalled PSE5: no change at all.
Has somebody achieved to find a solution for this problem?
    Best wishes,
    Kai

  • Missing Plug-in to support file format

Hi- When I try to open a PDF in CS5 and/or CS6 it gives me the following message " Cannot open the file. Adobe InDesign may not suprot the file format, a plug-in that supprts the file format may be missing, or the file may be open in another application. I've closed out the file in other applications... and called adobe. They said to write in the forum and that it was an issue with 3rd parties plug ins, Indesign not reading it? Help please... not sure what is the next step for this... happens in both CS5/CS6

There are commercial plugins from DTP Tools and Markzware that will allow you to open a PDF and convert to .indd directly, but that's the only way to edit a PDF inside ID, and there may be some loss in translation.
You can export the images and the text from the PDF using Acrobat pro, then plalce the PDF into ID as a template on which to rebuild, or you can try to obtain the original files used to create the PDF. As a format, PDF is inteneded to be the final output, not subject to further editing.

It will be necessary for you to use the " render a copy with Lightroom adjustments" and send that copy to Photoshop CS4.  Photoshop, even the current version, does not actually edit the raw image.  By the time the image is open in Photoshop, it is no longer raw image data.  And even the current version must save an image edited in Photoshop to a new file such as TIF or PSD.
However, since you are using an older version of Photoshop, and since ACR is used in the conversion process from Lightroom to Photoshop, all of the new features in ACR cannot be read and interpreted.  That is why it would be necessary for you to render the copy and send that to Photoshop.

  • InDesign CC | Error with indd file - "Cannot open the file...Adobe InDesign may not support file format"

I encountered a very strange error with InDesign CC after saving a file created in CS4. I'd attach the file but I'm not sure how to do this, if I'm able to. The file is 44kb and doesn't seem like it should be (file I saved had a large book cover). Now since the original CS4 file was overwritten using InDesign CC, the file is corrupt and I'm getting the error message displayed below. The file is not open within another application. Has anyone gotten this before?

Thanks for your response Peter. Below is the gibber contained in the first four lines. In the first line, where it reads "mimetypeapplication" and then "indesign-idml-package", I would assume that this should've been a valid idml file.
