IPhoto 6.0.4 and 10.4.6 - Cant do anything after 'Buy this Book' Connecting
Hi,
I have spent over 30 hours trying to put this book together for my son's birthday with over 100 photos. I got the estimate the first time and restarted the computer and boom! its all gone. I come back and finalize the book and click on Buy, but all I get is a Connecting status bar.......
Keeps going and going. Is there anyway I can get this book?
Uploading takes ages! Make sure you have the booked saved and then click on Buy and prepare for a long wait... even just a single card can take a couple of minutes... I'm sure it'll get there in the end. Whenever I've ordered books of around 24 pages, it's taken about 15 minutes or so to upload.

After updating to Yosemite, I updated iPhoto. Alert said to convert my library to new iPhoto. Then alert said I needed to repair permissions. Then a freeze. Then iPhoto won't find and show my library. How do I fix this? I can see the library icon on my external drive, but it doesn't show as a library in iPhoto. When I double click on the icon, nothing happens. When I choose it from alternate menu, doesn't open. Where do I get help?

Do you have a back up? What version of iPhoto do you have? Assuming 09 or later:
Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Repair Database. If that doesn't help, then try again, this time using Rebuild Database.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In early versions of Library Manager it's the File -> Rebuild command. In later versions it's under the Library menu.)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

I can't find photos imported from my iPhone 4 with "Image Capture" to iPhoto anywhere... and they were deleted from the iPhone after import! Can anyone help me find the photos?
Do you know the date they were taken? Try search on that.

Hi I got an email from itunes saying that my pre order was ready and when I click on the link from my ipad it takes me to the itunes store app and then it doesn't do anything help with this please .
<Link Edited By Host>Thanks for your advice, I went to the apple shop today for a face to face meeting with a tech and he checked everything and could not figure out why I was having this problem so we decided to give up on that account and create a whole new one for me using a different email address.
Now I can download apps on both my iPhone and ipad2.

i forgot my pass code my home button doesnt work i cant restore because find my phone is on im frustrated and out of solutions my home button just stopped working today and it has just been one issue after another this morning help help help
If you are unable to restore your iPhone with iTunes without having to enter the passcode, you will not be able to update your iPhone's backup. You will need to place the iPhone into recovery mode in order to restore the iPhone with iTunes and you can restore from the most recent backup available.

My current os x is 10.9.5, using final cut express vers. 4.0.1. I have imported .mov clips created on a older mac os x (lion) and when I wanted to import them into fce, a quicktime conversion window opened up and converted them (I haven't experienced this in the past). I then imported the converted quicktime clips into my fce project. After doing this I took selected clips and put those edited clips on the fce timeline. When playing the video back in the fce timeline,I noticed
1) the video wasn't playing back smoothly like the original content
2) when looking at the timecode reading of the timeline, the timecode was sputtering as well as the video and audio. I exported to quicktime just to see if that was consistent, it was.
When I play the converted quicktime content independently of fce, it plays normally (no sputtering of timecode, video and audio. Need help to resolve the sputtering playback of converted video content in the fce timeline. I've never experienced this before. Any suggestions?When you say you converted the clips before importing them into FCE, did you convert to AIC or DV and do the converted clips match your FCE Sequence settings exactly? If not, go back and convert the original files again, using the intended Sequence settings as a guide.

FaceTime has not worked in a week for myself and many friends and family that all have the latest versions on both iPad and iPhone. I have tried all recommended fixes. Is apple doing anything to correct this problem?

hello, my ipod got disabled for years. Right now its disabled for 22,817,472. I asked around and people said to just restore it on itunes. But when i plug it in it says that it cant connect it the ipod because its locked with a passcode. Someone please please help me!!!!

Forgotten Restrictions Passcode Help
You will need to restore your device as New to remove a Restrictions passcode. Go through the normal process to restore your device, but when you see the options to restore as New or from a backup, be sure to choose New.

Two Q's: HD noise, and need to watch out for anything after minor "fall"?
Apologies in advance; I'm guessing that I'm concerned about nothing in both cases here, but I figured it wouldn't hurt to ask (besides making me look paranoid :D).
1) You know that "grinding/clicking" noise HDs typically make when working? (I mean the one normally associated with HDs, not any of the "click of death" stuff.) Occasionally, I hear a single grind/click that's louder and/or sharper than the usual. Anyone else hear that? I'm assuming it's normal, but just asking.
2) I put my laptop down on a wad of sheets atop a futon of mine while I did something else. Unlike usual, the laptop slid off the sheets onto the surface of the futon. The momentum caused it to further slide off the edge of the futon onto the carpeted floor (about 10.5 inches off the floor; it's a thick futon) with a very audible "thunk." It landed with one edge still propped on the edge of the futon, and I believe, tho' I'm not 100% sure, it landed hinge-side first.
Any chance anything got jarred out of whack or anything like that? Anything I should watch out for as I use it (as I'm doing now; seems fine so far)?

This still concerns me. The HD should not make any noise other then a very light tick or click caused by the r/w head seeking a track or another slightly louder click or even clunk when the heads park. The parking is a one time thing, repeated as often as once every half minute or so under some undesirable circumstances, not a continuous chatter of any kind. Normally it should only sound when you power down or when you move the computer.
One other normal sound is a "white noise" sound caused by the rushing of air as the platters spin. They spin at a constant speed but the whooooosh sound made can vary slightly due to the fact the r/w head may be near the center of the platters or near the outer edge, each place making a slightly different noise. The whooosh sound maybe should be described as a continuous shhh. It is always present when the drive spins if it is audible at all on any given drive. On slower drives, 5400 RPM, it can be virtually silent.
A hard drive can have a vibration that can be felt in the hand, and can also be heard as a hum. It will also be constant whenever the drive is spinning. It does not come an go. It is by far more common in 7200 RPM or faster drives.

Kmc21Restore, if iTunes will let you. Everything except the password will be restored. Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. Be forewarned that it takes a long time. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod. As before, say "yes." Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time. If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device. Corrective action is simple - choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore, go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here. -

Reinstall OS X
To reinstall OS X, go > Restart.
When your computer restarts, hold in both the Command (⌘) and the R keys until you see the OS X Utilities window pop up.
If you are not connected to the internet, choose a network from the Wi-Fi menu in the right corner of the menu bar (in the top right corner of the screen).
Select Reinstall Mac OS X, click Continue, and follow the instructions.

To erase and reinstall Mavericks, do I need anything more than an internet connection?
In the Apple support doc OS X Mavericks: Erase and reinstall OS X, it doesn't say anything about a USB drive, but in all of the articles online, it suggests downloading Mavericks onto a USB drive first. I assume that an internet connection is all that is needed, is that right? Or should I go the USB route?
You can do either - our models can boot to Internet Recovery or you can download Macvericks, wuit when it starts to install and use the "Install OS Mavericks.app" in your Applications folder to create a bootable installation USB thumb drive. You'll need a 8GB+ thumb drive and you can use DiskMaker X to create the bootacle installation drive.
Personally, I always keep a thumb frive with the latest installer.
