IPhoto 6.0.5 - No full screen; no edit windows

For some reason the Edit windows for exposure, etc., have disappeared. I checked "help" and find that I can neither switch to a full screen nor see the "edit" buttons after hitting "edit." All I get are the "enhance", "crop," etc. I know I had these before, but now they are not available. Any ideas to correct? thanks.

Please help! I have photoshop and iphoto does not show it in my preferences edit window. How do I get it as an option in my preferences.

I tried it and nothing changed. Even when I right click on an indiviual image all it does is duplicate it. Iphoto seems to be recognizing my external hard drive as an editor......cannot get photoshop except to drag a picture into photoshop from iphoto, and once I have worked on it and saved it to iphoto I cant find it anywhere.

  • IPhoto 11 lag when in full screen mood?

When I open my iPhoto 11 in full screen size, and start scrolling down the event it lag. However, when I scroll down the event when not in full screen, there is no lag. Is it normal or are there bugs? Help me please Thanks.

In earlier versions when you went to Full Screen you automatically went into edit mode. This version you don't. Zoom is available is Edit mode, in Full Screen or Windowed Mode.

  • IPhoto - pictures not showing in full screen

Hi, I'm using iPhoto and have uploaded my pictures from camera (one I've always used before and had success with).  The pictures load and I can see the thumnails, but when I switch to view in full screen the picture flashes up really quickly and is replaced by an exclamation mark.  Any ideas as to what is wrong?  Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

The "!" occurs when iPhoto has broken/lost the link/path to the original file.  Assuming you're running iPhoto 9 (11) apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
    Fix #1
Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
Since only one option can be run at a time start with Option #3, followed by #4 and then #1 as needed.
    Fix #2
Using iPhoto Library Manager  to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
1 - download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
2 - click on the Add Library button, navigate to your Home/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
3 - Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File ➙ Rebuild Library menu option.
4 - In the next  window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
5 - Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments.  However, books, calendars, cards and slideshows will be lost. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.

  • Yosemite: How do I get back from full-screen to original window size?

Okay, so today I used iPhoto for the first time since I reluctantly upgraded to Yosemite on Friday.
iPhoto is one of the few apps I often take into full-screen mode, and so obviously I noticed today that they've kindly taken away the full-screen arrows in the top right-hand corner of the window in Yosemite.
Posting a question about that in Support revealed the 'new improved' way to go full-screen, which is to click on the green traffic light in the top left-hand corner of the window.
Fair enough, but how do I get my iPhoto window back to the size it was before I went full-screen? I tried clicking the green-button again, but that insists on the window being what I call 'maximised', ie. spread across the entire width of my desktop. I want to snap from full-screen back to the window size I had before going full screen.
The arrows in the top right-hand corner used to do that perfectly well, but they're not there any more so I'm having to resort to laboriously re-sizing my window each time, which is far from ideal.
Anyone able to advise me please?

Do we know if it is iPhoto-specific, or do all app windows behave in this way?
Actually, I suppose I could find that out for myself...

  • Trouble viewing photos in full screen and editting

I'm pretty sure that I uploaded some corrupted files into iPhoto. This action rendered all of my photos useless. I can't view them in full screen mode, and I can't edit them. I can see them as thumbnails though. I have them all backed up (uploaded in Picassa). I tried a whole bunch of things, including many of the things listed here (http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1425139&tstart=225), but to no avail. I figured if I got rid of the corrupted files it would work, but that didn't fly either. So I took a random picture and uploaded it to a now empty iPhoto and the same problem happened. I have not had any problems with my macbook until now. Any ideas?

    Welcome to the Apple Discussions.
Uploading "some corrupted files" into iPhoto will not "render all of (your) photos useless".
This sounds like you have a damaged database file.
Try these in order - from best option on down...
    1. Do you have an up-to-date back up? If so, try copy the library6.iphoto file from the back up to the iPhoto Library allowing it to overwrite the damaged file.
    2. Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
    3. If neither of these work then you'll need to create and populate a new library.
To create and populate a new library:
Note this will give you a working library with the same Rolls and pictures as before, however, you will lose your albums, keywords, modified versions, books, calendars etc.
Move the iPhoto Library to the desktop
Launch iPhoto. It will ask if you wish to create a new Library. Say Yes.
Go into the iPhoto Library on your desktop and find the Originals folder. From the Originals folder drag the individual Roll Folders to the iPhoto Window and it will recreate them in the new library.
When you're sure all is well you can delete the iPhoto Library on your desktop.
In the future, in addition to your usual back up routine, you might like to make a copy of the library6.iPhoto file whenever you have made changes to the library as protection against database corruption.

  • Problems launching Full Screen QT7 in Windows... help?

I have been testing full screen video over the web using QT7. It works awsome in Mac, but I am dealing with odd bugs in widnows - so here goes.
    This page: http://www.24frets.com/testing/
Works fine, but the controller that appears on full screen doesn't show the chapter tracks - I am guessing that this feature down't work in the Windows version? (The chapters appear in the QT player window, just not full screen. It works fine in both on a Mac.)
Also, the second video clip after the "Rock n Roll TV" title, (roping dogies), often appears over a white background even though the background is set for #000000
    On this page: http://www.24frets.com/testing/index2.html
The movie that is called when you click on the poster frame in the web browser is a QTL file that calls the previous full screen movie. (I did that to get quicktime to close when the movie is finished and return to the web page.)
On my Mac, I occasionaly get a QT crash when I call it, then it works the next time - that may be an odd error - can't nail it down.
On windows, it launches with the volume at zero. I had a volume="100" parameter in the QTL file but nothing helps.
Are these known bugs in the Windows QT7?
I noticed that on the first testing page, the sound played fine even though the controller shows the volume down, on the second page there was no sound but it came back up when you raised it with the floating controller.
Thanks in advance - people are amazed at the full screen quality, and the data rates are around 720kbps - YEAH! Now if I can just debug the Windows version.
Also the movie that plays full screen is a SMIL file for quicktime.
    Powerbook 1.67ghz   Mac OS X (10.4.5)

Hmm, you may be onto something regarding the repair permissions thing. The authorization issue is happening when even putting together a movie that has more than one song from itms (and if you go to trim it, you end up in an endless loop between iMovie and iTunes— FUN!). There's a whole 'nother thread on it here:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1079288&tstart=0
I did report it as a bug however. One other person in that thread was able to duplicate the issue at an Apple store on one of their machines. One would assume they go through the steps you do before installing software (assume tht is).

  • Images maximize (full screen) when switching windows?

When working with two or more images in Fireworks CS3 (Mac OSX 10.5.7)....
The image windows blast into full screen display when switching between images. I am new to CS3, (convert from Studio 8) but cannot find where to stop this irritating behaviour. I can correct by selecting Window>>Cascade - temporarily... But, when I click on another image window, that image blasts into full-screen again.
    How can I stop this?
I really hate posting (usually preferring instead to lurk and scour the answers to my questions from previous posts). But, I am forced to post this question in hopes of a quick, simple solution to stop the lurching madness that makes me feel queasy every time my screen blasts an image into full screen mode..
Any help is appreciated...  really, it is. :-)

OK, this is possibly a bug.
After restarting today, the problem did not occur until about an hour working with FW.
A restart did NOT stop it. So, I restarted again and tried three different files... It was fine for a while and then started the same thing again.
I am starting to lose hope that it is something I can do to prevent this. It appears that FW and Carbon are not playing together nicely.

  • Can't full-screen RDP session window?

Hi, I'm using Win7 to RDP to an AWS WinServer2012 box. I need to view RDP session full screen. Checked RDP -> Display configuration, which is set to Full Screen. My machine's resolution is set to 1680x1050.
I checked the Screen Resolution on the server and see "The display settings can't be changed from a remote session." Also, resolution shows a greyed-out 1280x705, under which is a ! Your resolution is lower than 1024 x 768. Some items might not
fit and apps might not open.
    Any leads?
    Thanks,
    Scott

    Hi Scott,
Thank you for posting in Windows Server Forum.
First of all suggest you to increase RDP version of client windows 7 to RDP 8.1. in addition for a try you can change the .RDP file setting and check whether you can use full screen in remote desktop session. For this you need to change the desktop height and
weight under .RDP file as below.
    desktopwidth:i:<set to screen width>
    desktopheight:i:<set to screen height>
Kindly go through beneath article for detail.

  • Cannot broadcast full screen games on Windows 7 64bit

I'm going to be as descriptive as possible in this. I'm running a dual-boot system (one OS Windows 7 64 bit, the other Windows XP 32 bit)
I'm using ManyCams (but i've also tried Supercam, WebcamMax, and VHscrcap) as my virtual cam on both OS and FME. I've installed both programs on both operating systems the exact same way. I use the same exact settings for both, and I've made sure my video card drivers are up to date on both. Whenever I try to broadcast to any website (I'll use Justin.tv for this question) On the Windows 7 64 bit OS, i can capture my whole screen and everything just fine, until i go into a full screen game. I dont mean a game that's in windowed mode and taking up the whole screen, i mean a game that's running in full screen mode. The entire screen is black on the stream, but not on my monitor (obviously) until i alt-tab out of the game. Then the stream is fine and it's my desktop again. I can't capture my full screen games on my Windows 7 64bit OS. If I try this the exact same way on my XP 32 bit, it works fine with 0 problems.
Just to rule these out, it's not a problem with my internet or my specs. Take my word for it.
So, any takers on this? Is it just completely unfixable on W7 64bit or is there just something i'm missing here.
    Thanks

At least you can broadcast at all I have been trying pretty much all day to get mine to stop crashing whenever I try to use my Dazzle dvc 100.. and yes I'm using windows 7 64 bit.. It worked on my old labtop that was Vista..and it still works on that but its too slow.. and its frustrating when I know I have everything I need installed and it wont work on my new labtop ._.

  • How to use full screen mode in Windows Media Player (activex)

I am trying to write a LV program to display video "full screen" using a WindowsMediaPlayer control (in LabVIEW 8).  Is this not possible?  When I run the code I get an error:
Error -2147418113 occurred at Property Node
This error code is undefined. No one has provided a description for this code, or you might have wired a number that is not an error code to the error code input.
    Anyone have any ideas?
    Thanks,
    Jeremy

Under LV 7.1 with DSC installed I get the same error code (-2147418113) but "explain error" gives me this.
"LabVIEW DSC:  (Hex 0x8000FFFF) Catastrophic failure."
This prompts the question is it possible to set an activeX object running in a container for Full Screen.
This is probably a Q for MS.
If it look like it is possible, try to get a VB example and that will tell us what we have to do to make this work.

  • How do I shrink back from full screen to normal window in Safari?

How do I shrink a full screen back to a normal window in Safari?

    Safari 8
When the window is in FullScreen mode, move the mouse over to the top of the screen.
When the window navigational buttons slide in from the left, click the green button.
By the way, this thread is two years old.

  • Full Screen Mode with Window Tabs? (Mac)

I have never been able to use Full Screen Mode / Full Screen Mode with Menu Bar because my Window Tabs disappear.
Until now I have ignored this but I really want to start making the most of my screen space. I don't understand how people can go into full screen mode without tabs of their open documents. It makes the experience completely useless to me and I can't believe I can't find any solutions online. I feel like I am overlooking a simple button somewhere on the screen thinking "surely Adobe would include this!?"
    Please help.
I am currently on 13 inch MacBook Pro using CS6 beta.

    RichardOverton wrote:
Thanks for the reply, but I already know of this 'workaround', and it isn't a solution for me. There is no functionality in cycling through windows with no idea when you will arrive at the correct PSD. I usually have quite a few open at the same time and I am constantly skipping between them nice and simply with the tabs...Please Adobe just add an option for tabs, all the other components of the layout are optional in full screen, why not tabs?
Putting in a feature request for tabs in full screen mode is a good idea. One thing Photoshop could do in full screen mode is reveal the menu bar and tabs when the mouse is near the top of the screen. This is sort of an ad-hoc standard in tabbed apps like Chrome and Firefox. Even Adobe Photoshop Lightroom reveals the menu bar in this way, but Photoshop continues to use the same full screen behavior that it had back in the 1990s, when it was one of the few full-screen apps available.
One workaround is to turn off Window > Application Frame, and when you're in full screen mode use Lion's Mission Control to pick a specific window. This works even better if you use or assign a shortcut to view the windows of a single application.
    c.pfaffenbichler wrote:
    how does everyone else cope?
As a career-long Mac-user I am not accustomed to tabs and therefore don’t need or use them.
Tabs have been in Mac apps, such as Apple Safari and Final Cut Pro, for many years.
