Iphoto 6 adjust button

My iphoto 6 adjust buttom does work. Nothing happens when you click on it. ??

phidgety:
Welcome to the Apple Discussions. Delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that's in your User/Library/Preferences folder. When you launch iPhoto again the adjust pane will be back at its default position
Do you Twango?
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've written an Automator workflow application, iPhoto dB file backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

  • Iphoto and adjust button

I have the required system for IPhoto 05. I run a 466 MHz Power PC G4 with 256 MB of SDRAM. However, the adjust button does not appear in the edit mode of Iphoto. I have reinstalled iphoto, but still have no adjust button. Any ideas why? This issue isn't addressed in the iphoto help/installation section. Is it a matter of not enough SDRAM?

    Hi Bette,
The only fact I know for certain is it isn't supported for G3 computers.
    here are the requirements:
    hoto 5 System Requirements
Macintosh computer with a PowerPC G3 (400MHz or faster), G4, or G5 processor
G4 or G5 required for GarageBand software instruments and advanced photo editing in iPhoto 5
256MB of physical RAM (512MB recommended)
Mac OS X v10.3.4 or later
Mac OS X v10.3.6 or later required to work with RAW photos (iPhoto 5)
    QuickTime 6.5.2 (included)
Display with at least 1024 x 768 pixel resolution
RAW requires a supported RAW-compatible camera
4.3GB of disk space required to install GarageBand, iTunes, iPhoto, iMovie and iDVD; or 250MB to install iTunes, iPhoto and iMovie only
iPhoto books and prints are available in the US, Canada, Japan, and select European countries
The only other thing I can think of us your window is not large enough to display the icon/icons. Drag the bottom right corner of the window to make it larger, or look and see if you have a menu under >>

  • IPhoto 6: Adjust Button won't work

Just installed iPhoto 6 over iPhoto 5 - suddenly my Adjust button has stopped functioning (the new Effects button brings up the relevant panel just fine) - now I have no access to functions such as Sharpen or Saturation. Anyone know how to fix this? Without it iLife 6 has been a waste of my money.

  • IPhoto '06 "Adjust" button not working

    Hey, Gang;
Just loaded iPhoto '06 onto my Dual Core G5, prior to that (the day before) updated to 10.4.4 with no trouble. But I can't get the "adjust" feature to work in iPhoto '06. "Effects" works, everything else seems to as well. I tried adjusting several photos, digital snaps as well as scanned slides but no joy. Any thoughts?
    Thanks,
    David S.

When I clik on the Adjust icon in iPhoto 6 it is in the very lower left corner of my monitor (not in iPhoto window). There is not enough there to drag to the main window. Does anyone know how to prevent this from happening without restarting the app?
I see in Discussions that others have experienced the problem,
    Remedies? Fixes ??
    Thanks all.

  • 6.0.5 adjust button not working

    i updated to iphoto 6.0.5
now the adjust button does nothing. it doesn't bring up the adjust sliders. i selected a photo, clicked the edit button, then tried the adjust button== nothing happened.

Actually this may not be caused by iPhoto 6.0.5 at all. I'm not sure what makes this happen, but once in a while, the Adjust panel seems to appear way offscreen. I suspect this because many times I've found an edge of it off the bottom left corner of my screen.
First, check all edges of your screen after you click the Adjust button. If it's still on screen it probably won't come back by itself.
Then try bringing up Effects and other things, and quit iPhoto and launch it again. Sometimes that brings it back.
If none of that works, go to your Preferences (/Users/<your account>/Library/Preferences/ and move the preference file out of there before you launch iPhoto. Then try to bring up the Adjust panel. It should work. You will have to go to each pane in Preferences and make sure all the settings are as you like them.
Then, you can discard the pref file you just pulled out.

  • Adjust button not appearing on toolbar

I recently installed a new harddrive and installed the operating system on the drive. Everything seems to be working fine except for my iPhoto. All my pictures are pixelated and I do not have an adjust button on the toolbar. Do I have to reinstall everything again?

I have the same problem of mising Adjust and Done buttons, and also Red-Eye is greyed out.
Deleting the com.apple.iPhoto.plist made no difference.
Should I try installing the iPhoto software again? If so, how do I pick this out from the installation discs?

  • "Adjust" button on iMovie 10.0.7

When using iMovie 10.0.7, I do not have the "Adjust" button for doing picture-in-picture.  How can I turn that feature on?

So, in your workflow, step #2 is missing ?
#1: place 2nd clip 'upon' your project
    #2:click 'Video overlay settings'
#3: select 'Picture in Picture' ....
… just one PiP per clip is allowed…

  • No "adjust" button in new iMovie 10.0.6 update

I just updated to the new iMovie 10.0.6 and I used to use the older '11 version with audio effects. Now there is no audio effects options anywhere. I looked up help files and I see everyone has the "adjust" button in the toolbar except me. Ive clicked the video file, audio file and no "adjust" button shows up in the tool bar.

I am in the exact same boat (had issue with 10.0.1, and upgrade to 10.0.2 made no difference).  I also receive the same error message (which I saw before and after the upgrade to 10.0.2):
    1/26/2014 10:25:36.359 AM iMovie[873]: -[CKiOSSetting initWithContentsOfURL:]: init failed with url "file:///Applications/iMovie.app/Contents/PlugIns/Compressor/CompressorKit.bund le/Contents/Frameworks/Compressor.framework/Versions/A/Frameworks/CompressorKit. framework/Resources/Settings/EFB_iOS.plist".
If relevant, I also see the following messages repeated often after the above message:
1/26/2014 10:25:41.336 AM iMovie[873]: AVF error: Perf capability check failed: 0xe00002be
1/26/2014 10:25:41.336 AM iMovie[873]: AVF error: Branch_QT0::pushBits, Context Creation Failed.
Also confirmed that the existance of the plist file and it looks exactly the same
This is extremely frustrating, especially after the release of the fix by Apple (with a fix for this issue specifically mentioned in the change log).  For the record, I have also removed iMovie multiple times and re-installed (requiring a 2GB download from the App Store each time).
Since Sharing is a critical feature, it makes iMovie rather useless without it working.  Open to any suggestions...

  • IPhoto '08:  Adjust settings won't stick!

I was editing an image in iPhoto '08 and came up with the following image while 'Edit' was invoked:
    http://img390.imageshack.us/img390/8071/iphoto001jx5.jpg
When I clicked on the 'Done' button, this was the result you saw in the viewing pane without 'Edit' invoked:
    http://img116.imageshack.us/img116/7033/iphoto002zm1.jpg
Has anyone here that uses iPhoto run across this? This image I worked upon is a duplicate of the original. The changes I made with the Adjust tool were: Exposure 0.68; Contrast -100; Highlights 12.0; Shadows 17.0. I am using iPhoto 7.1.3 and running OS 10.4.11.

Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

  • Slideshow "Adjust" button fails

I love iPhoto!.. yes, I've used iMovie quite a bit, and I've done many movies into idvd, then burned them......BUT, I really love the automatic transitions that iPhoto does, so I find that I'm going towards iPhoto instead of iMovie.
BUT....the problem I'm having with iPhoto is the SLIDESHOWS!.....
When I want to time a frame for 1 or 2 seconds, I click on "adjust", and when I
enter a time value, it simply does not register that value. AND, I've tried every which way to see if I'm doing something wrong, but it simply will not cooperate..
Am I making myself clear here?....I'm talking about in the "Slideshow" ADJUST mode, when I'm trying to make a photo frame (picture) 1,2,3 or more seconds long or shorter, iphoto will not let me do it!...
Listen.....the Ken Burns transitions are simply 'Superb", and they're all "automatic", and when I burn the whole thing onto iDVD, it really makes me look like a Pro, which I'm not, but I love the finished movie so much..
But, I'd like some frames (picture) to be timed longer or shorter then some others.
SO.....am I the only one who's got this friggin' problem or what?....
    Please respond with some solutions/answers...
    Thanks..
    Happy Memorial Day...

When you say you "enter" a time value, are you trying to type it in? I can't type in a value but I can use the up/down arrows to increase/decrease the value. Any chance this is your problem?
This one probably is not your problem, but some silly habit on my part: I automatically keep hitting the "Reset to defaults" button as if it is an "OK" button. I'm just supposed to close the window but some kind of automatic habit makes me click the Reset button and lose my adjust setting.
But when I finally use the adjust the way I'm supposed to, it does work for me.

  • IPhoto Edit Adjusts not showing up in "realtime"

I just upgraded to iPhoto 8.1.1. Everything works fine except that when I go to make EDITS and then use the ADJUST tool, the changes do not occur on the image while I'm move the sliders. I can't see what is happening until I hit DONE, then of course the changes have taken place but I'm basically guessing because I can't see the adjustment in "realtime". Is there a preference switch that I am missing? Everything else works fine including FACES and PLACES.
    Thanks.

Try trash the com.apple.iPhoto.plist file from the HD/Users/ Your Name / library / preferences folder. (Remember you'll need to reset your User options afterwards. These include minor settings like the window colour and so on. Note: If you've moved your library you'll need to point iPhoto at it again.)
    *What's the plist file?*
For new users: Every application on your Mac has an accompanying plist file. It records certain User choices. For instance, in your favourite Word Processor it remembers your choice of Default Font, on your Web Browser is remembers things like your choice of Home Page. It even recalls what windows you had open last if your app allows you to pick up from where you left off last. The iPhoto plist file remembers things like the location of the Library, your choice of background colour, whether you are running a Referenced or Managed Library, what preferences you have for autosplitting events and so on. Trashing the plist file forces the app to generate a new one on the next launch, and this restores things to the Factory Defaults. Hence, if you've changed any of these things you'll need to reset them. If you haven't, then no bother. Trashing the plist file is Mac troubleshooting 101.

  • I can't order cards from iphoto - the "buy" button is inactive...

I've created a christmas card that I want to order in iphoto v 9.6, but I'm not able to press the "Buy Card"-button....
    What to do?

    Reboot and try again.
If that doesn't help as a test launch iPhoto with the Option key held down and create a new, test library.  Import some photos, create a test calendar and test to see if the same problem persists. Does it?
If it doesn't then your library is the culprit and needs to be repaired. Do the following:
1 - launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down to open the First Aid window. Be sure to follow the circled recommendation in the screenshot.
    2 - run Option #4, Rebuild Database.

  • IPhoto to MobileMe: Button Does Nothing

I am using iPhoto 08 (version 7.1.4 371) on a MacPro with system 10.5.4. In iPhoto, if I select a group of photos and click the "MobileMe" button, or choose Share/MobileMe from the menus, nothing whatsoever happens. No dialog, no nothing. It just behaves as if I'd done nothing. Additionally, if I click the "+" button to create a new album, and choose the "MobileMe" button in that dialog, the controls in the dialog remain exactly as they were before. In other words, if I was on Album I still see the "Name" dialog; if I was on Smart Album I still see the dropdowns and +/- signs to add conditions, etc. I know I'm probably foolish to even try using this combination of products, but is there a way to upload photos from iPhoto to MobileMe?

Quit iPhoto and delete the iPhoto preference file ("your username" ==> library ==> preferences ==> com.apple.iPhoto.plist) and launch iPhoto and a new, clean default preference file will be created - reset any personal preferences you have changed and try again

  • IPhoto image adjustment tools

Some of the image adjustment icons at bottom of my iPhoto page are no longer there.... for instance the ones I use to adjust saturation and crop and stuff. This seems to have happened after connecting my new Canon Pixma MP990, and uploading scanned images into iPhoto. I do not like Pixma's tools for image adjustment, so how can I get back the iPhoto tools?

Given that we no information about what is going onI'll take a wild guess - quit iPhoto and delete the iPhoto preference file - "your user name" ==> library ==> preferences ==> com.apple.iPhoto.plist - and launch iPhoto - reset any personal preferences you have changed and if you have moved the iPhoto library repoint to it

  • Iphoto slideshow--adjusting music timing

    Hello all,
Here's my issue...I'd like to add music (from Itunes) to my Iphoto slideshow. I want to adjust the timing of the song played (i.e. in Itunes I can choose a start time and end time for each song by getting info). However, when I make these adjustments in my Itunes playlist, then select that playlist for use in the slideshow, it plays the songs with their standard timings.
Is there any way I can get Iphoto to recognize these timing changes or do I have to play each song in its entirety?

    Hi biiru 1000,
    Editing in iTunes:
Select Song. Get info>Options. Edit start stop times.
When edited, select song. Advanced menu_ convert selection to AAC ( of format you have set in preferences).
Arrange library window by "Date Added" -- It will be the newest thing but this new copy won't have a title etc. Rename.
this works for your imported music. I am not sure if it will work with purchased tracks from the ITMS as I have not tried it yet.
