IPhoto 6 display window

Suddenly my iPhoto window opens with only one photo showing, no matter where I go. If I select
"Library" or any other folder below, I see only one photo.
How can I get back to where this was for years (since late 2004)? I just want all the photos to be
displayed when I open the program, and from there I can find what I need.
Just like it always was!

How can I get iPhoto to display ONLY file numbers of pictures and not document titles when displayed as thumbnails?

I am a pro photographer and I've never used iPhoto. I use a combination of Adobe's Bridge, Lightroom & Photoshop programmes. I've sent a disk of images to a client and they cannot see the file numbers of the images. Their version of iPhoto only displays the document title that I have embedded in the metadata when importing the images into Bridge.
When I ran a test and imported the same images into my version of iPhoto(7.1.5, since you ask) some of the thumbnails displayed the file number while others displayed the document title. Why does this happen? Can I make it stop? How do I make iPhoto display just the file number in thumbnail mode and not the document title?
When I view the images in Bridge, all I see is the file number but I can't convince the client to use the programme even though they have it. Any help/guidance will be very gratefuly received.

In every version prior to iPhoto 11:
Select one of the affected photos in the iPhoto Window and right click on it. From the resulting menu select 'Show File...
In iPhoto 11:
Select one of the affected photos in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Reveal in Finder -> Original...

Are you seeing this
when you double click on a thumbnail file? If so it's an indication that the file path/link between the thrumbnail and original, full sized file has been broken. Therefore, and assuming you're running iPhoto 9 or later, try the following:
1 - launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down to open the First Aid window.
2 - Run Option #4, Rebuild Database.

Cannot get iphoto to display imported pictures

Recently I used Duplicate Annihilator to remove duplicates from iphoto '09, which were imported from many folders of pictures (not directly from a camera) and I just noticed that all photos which had duplicates are now no longer in my photo library at all. This was around 2,000 photos. I used finder to search for a specific folder that I imported and that is no longer visible in iphoto and I am able to locate the folder and files of all missing pictures inside the iphoto library file.
So how do I get iphoto to display these files which are in the iphoto library but cannot be found in iphoto?
I have tried rebuilding the photo library by using command-alt-shift and opening iphoto, but it did not work. It did, however, create more duplicates which I am scared to annihilate out of fear that I will lose those completely as well.

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. Run the two fixes below in order as needed:
Fix #1
Rebuild the library using iPhoto Library Manager as follows:
Using iPhoto Library Manager to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
1 -Download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
2 -Click on the Add Library button, navigate to your User/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
3 - Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File->Rebuild Library menu option
4 - In the next window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
5 - Click on the Create button.
Note: It may take some time to create the new library if you have a lot of photos.
Fix #2
Start over with a new library and import the Originals folder from your original library as follows:
Creating a new library while preserving the Events from the original library.
1. Move the existing library folder to the desktop.
2. Open the library package like this.
3. Launch iPhoto and, when asked, select the option to create a new library.
4. Drag the Originals folder from the iPhoto Library on the desktop into the open iPhoto window.
This will create a new library with the same Events as the original library if you have the Finder checkbox unchecked in the Events preference pane.

With the amount of information you've provided it's impossible to offer a solution. We can't see your computer so we need to know the details of your problem and setup, i.e.:
what version of iPhoto are you using?
what system version are you running?
what do you see in the iPhoto window when iPhoto opens?
what fixes have you tried?
where is your library located?
did you apply any updates or upgrades just prior to the problem occurring?
are you running a "managed" or "referenced" library?
what type of Mac?
how much free space on your boot drive?
Come on. Give us something to work with here.

It's not just Download Helper v4.8.3, it's also RealPlayer: the download display window shows .mp3 files downloading, but nothing shows in the folder when it is done downloading.

Also in the '''Properties''' window of Windows Explorer I '''no longer have the Details tab''', so I can't update my mp3 files with Artist, Album, Genre, etc. But the details tab does show up when I access it thru Windows Explorer.

Facebook pictures uploaded from iPhoto get displayed in low resolution on mac browsers

... but is otherwise fine on PC version of the browsers.
When viewing facebook photos on Safari (or Chrome, or Firefox) on Mac, photos uploaded using iPhoto get displayed in low res. Manually uploaded (through facebook upload tool) photos are displayed ok.

Thank so much for your reply. That portion I comfortable with, but was thinking I could take photos with my mobile phone and have them sync to a folder on my PC as my originals. I dont want to download photo's from my phone. It does work as desired exept the fact that the photos resolution is lower on the PC than the "originals" on the Revel website.
If I right click on the photo in PE and select "download original from revel" it works, but sort of defeats it purpose in my case.
It seems like Photoshop is not importing the pic at the original resolution. ie to me I would expect a "import original resolution" inside photoshop.
I am using PE12.
I dont like to compare PE revel to apple iCloud, but this is how their software works. If I take a photo on my iPhone its on my mac in full res within minutes to do with as I please. This is what I was thinking Revel could do for me and more. Dropbox, Onedrive and Googledrive all support this, but then I have to import it into PE.

Multi-display windows under Mavericks

Under 10.6.8, it has been my habit (and pleasure) to open very wide terminal windows across as many as three displays in order to see the results of somewhat wide database queries without text wrapping, which affects readability and cuts the number of lines visible on the display window at once.
Under 10.9.3, when I adjust a window over towards another display so that the window would be on both displays, the window is "ghosted" until I let go of the drag bar, and if the move has not fully adjusted the window to land entirely on the display it is moving into, that half of the window promptly disappears.
Am I missing something about window positioning under Mavericks? Or, is there any way to regain the previous, multi-display-friendly window handling in Mavericks?

Sharing iPhoto library with Windows PC?

Is there any way (even using a 3rd party solution) to share an iPhoto library to Windows users, so they can browse pictures by albums? I used a Macbook Pro as my primary system, but my gf uses a Windows based PC. She likes to put together photo books, but it's a pain that the only way for her to get pictures is for me to copy them for her.
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!

No, iPhoto has no cross platform ability whatever. Attemting to access the Library from another OS can lead to a corrupted Library.

I am trying to find a way to get iPhoto to display the keywords when I look at the pictures in a slide show

I have l lot of pictures of several trips and I display them on the screen as a screen saver. Many of the places I don't remember where I took them, but I made notes as keywords. How or what can I do to diasplay the keywords with the pictures?
I would buy another app if I know it will work for me.

Sorry but I know of no app that will display keywords during Slideshow. Several - including iPhoto - will display the title and you can change lots of titles quite quickly using the Batch Change command. As to what gets displayed during a ScreenSaver that's a matter for the individual screensaver.

If you just wish to show an image, you may use the Insert Image button, which looks like a camera, at the top of the box where you write your post.

How do I continue to have updated iphotos, to my windows 7 pc?

I have a windows 7 laptop that I have iCloud on. Though I have some photos that moved from the iPhone that I took, that are on the laptop, the newer iphotos no longer show up on the Windows 7 laptop; only the Apple devices. How do I continue to feed iphotos to the windows system?

Which version of Aperture are you running? If you have upgraded to Aperture 3.6, you will be able to open all Aperture libraries with the new Photos.app. Aperture libraries and Iphoto Libraries can be migrated losslessly to Photos.
Aperture 3.6 will soon no longer be available for purchase. If you need to upgrade, do it soon.
Since Photos does not have all editing tools Aperture had, you may want to migrate to other professional applications, Lightroom, Capture One Pro. But there is no lossless migration path.

How do you clear the current song info from the top display window?

When you first start iTunes and select Music, the display window at the top just has an Apple logo in it. Once you start playing a song, the song info shows up there. I can stop the song using Command-period (or the space bar), but the info stays there. Is there a keyboard shortcut or something simple to return the window to just the Apple logo? I cleared it inadvertently when I selected Radio, but I don't know if that will always work and I'm guessing there's a formal way to do it. (Selecting Radio while a tune is playing won't clear the info, of course.)
