IPhoto 8.1.2 will not accept photos from iPhoto 9.5.1

To begin with I purchased a new 13" MacBook Pro and messed up somewhere in the installation process.
I have an iMac
  Model Name:          iMac
  Model Identifier:          iMac5,1
Processor Name:          Intel Core 2 Duo
With OS X 10.6.8
iPhoto 8.1.2
  Processor Speed:          2 GHz
and a 13" MacBook Pro
  Model Name: MacBook Pro
  Modle Identifier: MacBookPro 9.2
With OS X 10.9.3
AND 2 copies of iPhoto (8.1.2 & 9.5.1) as listed in System Information, which apparently copied over when I copied to MacBook Pro from Time Capsule.
     1. I copied photos from MacBook to the iMac (using a 8 GB Thumb drive) but I was not successful.
I believe I deleted the photo library on the iMac and tried to copy it back from the MacBook.
     2. When I try to Open iPhoto I get an alert: You can't open your current photo library using this version of iPhoto.
You have made changes to your photo library using a newer version of iPhoto. Please quit and use the latest version of iPhoto.
Question 1. How can I return to the original iPhoto program on my iMac?( I have the original iLife DVD).
Question 2. How can I restore and/or salvage the photos presently on my MacBook Pro and install them on my iMac?

No early version of iPhoto can open a Library from a later version.
You can try revert the Library with iPhoto Library Manager

  • IPOD 60GB will not transfer PHOTOs from my XP 64 bit computer

iPOD 60GB will not transfer PHOTOs from my XP 64 bit computer - I get read/write to iPOD hardrive error message. Everything esle is working (including iPOD update). Is it something I am doing wrong or is it not compatible with Window XP Pro 64 Bit just for photo transfer?
AMD 3500   Windows XP Pro   Windows XP 64 bit

I Loaded the iPOD software into an older 32 bit computer running windows XP Home edition and it works fine. As I suspected, it is NOT compatible with windows XP 64 Bit Pro edition OS - Beware! When is Apple going to update their software to run iTUNES & iPOD using the latest 64 BIT computer proessors?

  • Itunes v12.1 itunes will not sync photos from photoshop 12

Since I downloaded itunes v12.1, itunes will not sync photos from Photoshop 12 to my iphone 5, 6+ and older Apple TV (with hard Drive). Prior to the itunes software update, all was well.  itunes indicates "0" photos available from Photoshop when there are over 7,000 photos on my desktop. I tried uninstalling itunes and reinstalling - no success. Perhaps itunes v13 may fix the problem, meanwhile , any suggestions.

I link to it in th epost above yours.

    Scroll down to;
Then click Mac, or whatever one is applicible to you.
Be warned though. After synced, successfully, with iTunes 11.1, i ended up with over 10GB's of 'Other' data on my iphone. I had to do a factory reset (From iTunes/iPhone/Summary). It's been a pain in the ***, but it all seems fine now. But it has taken me hours. An di now have a headache.
Also, a factory reset will remove ALL your data, and i mean EVERYTHING! You've spend the rest of the day putting everything back the way you like it, and setting up all your setting again.
    Pain in the ***.

  • Ipad will not open photos from sd card

ipad wll not open  photos from an sd card

Are the photos on the card taken with a camera? If not, the card must meet all of these requirements...
The SD card must be formatted using MS-DOS (FAT).
Photos must be in a /DCIM folder folder at the thumb drive's root level
Photos must all have 8 character names plus the suffix, usually jpg or jpeg.

  • Since iCloud Photo Library will not allow photos from iTunes iphoto to be up loaded ---how do I upload my photos to iCloud Photo Library?

I Have a 5s iPhone updated to 8.1---- have installed iCloud Photo Library---- will only upload 4oo of 21,000 photos--- will not upload any photos from iTunes. Since all 21,000 are in iPhoto's iTunes how do I get them to the icloud photo library.  As you know enabling iCloud Photo Library deletes all iTunes photos from the iPhone 5s.  Any ideas?

I Figured it out----- you can't upload iTunes iphotos to iCloud Photo Library from an iPhone!  Can't be done.  Must have a Mac to do it--- and it better not be an old one. Thanks apple!

  • IPhoto will not accept video from Nikon Coolpix S220

It has in the past, doesn't now... possibly an update issue? it still accepts photos, just not video. Any ideas?
    Thx!

How long is the rejected video? iPhoto has problems importing large videos directly from the camera. Use Image Capture to upload it to the Desktop and import from there.

  • My iphoto 09 ( 8.1.2) will not magnify photo from Library

My iphoto 09 has stopped maginifing photos from my library when I double click.  It simply shows a black screen with an exclamation point in a circle.
Anybody have similar problems or suggestions?

    Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
    If that fails:
    Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one. .

  • IPhoto not accepting photos from iPhone IOS7

I have not been able to copy photos from my iPhone 4S to my macbook 1,1 (OSX 10.6.8) since I installed IOS7.0 on the phone. "file is in an unrecognizable format" and it's JPG.

    Export: File -> Export
    This User Tip
    https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-4921
has details of the options in the Export dialogue.
    Copy: Use iPhoto Library Manager
But best to rebuild the library:
    Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Repair Database. If that doesn't help, then try again, this time using Rebuild Database.
    If that fails:
    Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In early versions of Library Manager it's the File -> Rebuild command. In later versions it's under the Library menu.)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

  • IDVD 7.0.3 will not import photos from iPhoto

I created a movie with iMovie 06 and imported it into IDVD 7.0.3. All of my chapters imported fine and I was able to import music from iTunes but when I try to get a photo from iPhoto using the media tab, the program says it is accessing iphoto but the photos do not load (at least in the 10 or so minutes I've waited. Anyone know of a solution?
    Thanks

  • Iphoto 6 not accepting photos from another iphoto 6 user

encountered an odd issue here.......got a CD with jpg photos from my sister who has the same iphoto 6 program.
    1) iPhoto 6 starts up fine, no issues
    2) when I insert the disk from my sister I get an error message "you can't open your current photo library using this version of iPhoto. You have made changes to your photo library using a newer version of iPhoto. Please quit and use the latest version of iPhoto.
    3) After the error message, my iPhoto program shuts down
    Any ideas?
    Thanks

Are you sure there are no updates for iPhoto 6 waiting for you to install?
Run software update and be sure.

  • IPhone will not sync photos from specific album - "Archive not found"

    Hi
I have problems transferring some photos to my iPhone. The thing is, I can transfer photos from some iPhoto albums like "Last import", or "3 most recent events" with no problems, but when I select the album I have specifically created for the iPhone I get an error saying that "the necessary archive does not exist" (the exact phrase may be slightly different, as I use a localized version of MacOS). The forlder contains 59 pictures, all JPEG in 2592 × 1944, as are the pictures in the albums that transfer OK. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Well, I tried all the suggestions you all made. Nothing helped. Then, while helping my sleepy little boy go potty, the phone slipped out of my pocket and straight into the loo.
Oh well... Now the solution is just academic for me.
    Thanks to all.

  • Imac will not upload photos from my iPad

i have a new imac it will not upload my photo liobray from my ipad.
my old imac had a logic board failure and died after 20 months taking all my photos with it.
luckily i thought ,the photos had all synced to my ipad so i thought the only thing i had to do was plug in the ipad and put the photos back onto my computer but the imac is only picking up 5 random photos from the library
    any ideas

If they synced through iCloud then those images are on iCloud and not really on your Pad. Log in to your iCloud account from the new Mac and they should sync down to your Mac.
