IPhoto 9.1.1 problem with Help

I have downloaded the new version of iPhoto the day before yesterday and have tried on many occasions to open the Help file but impossible to do. I just obtain an empty window with the cursor running indefinitely. Even if I force iPhoto to leave that window remain on my screen and there is no other possibility than restarting the iMac. When the application is working the iMac is running quite slowly.
I have also tried to go back to the Apple store to reload the application but it says "file already installed"!
What can I do ?

    I've update recently my N95 with new software release 20.0.015, but the problem with help application is not resolved...The problem is the following: when I try to open HELP I receive the error message MEMORY FULL, but my free RAM is 23/24 MB and the free memory on the device is 112 MB.     I have the same problem - no in any applications or using the Help application itself.
    Of possible interest ?>: is a 'help folder' I have with a name displayed in the Help application as 4x boxes.
    Using: -Menu -Tools -Utilities -Help
    ...I have an odd looking file listed at the end (after 'ZipManager' & before '3-D ringing tones'). The name is displaying as 4 x boxes - presumably non display characters ?>
    Is this folder on all N95s ? (i.e even those with a working Help) ?
    Anyone know how/where to locate this folder ?

  • Problem with Help Link in search result screen of PCUI

    Hi,
      I am trying to access the pcui applications that came out of box with crm using BAB,everthing is working fine but got a problem with "Help" link in top right (beside personalize link) the search result area of all the PCUI screens.
    when i click on that i get "page cannot be displayed" error, seems that it is pointing to some wrong URL, where should i change the url to point to our company's help site for that link..
    clicking on the properties of that link shows that it is pointing to

    My response help resolve Kodru's Message which he also posted in EP Implementation Forum. He resolved it by changing the variant noted below.
    The link http://help.sap.com/saphelp_crm40/helpdata/EN/70/B4ED8E03595645A6ABA33B4576BB57/content.htm should display Activity Info.
    First I would check if the crm_bsp_f1_help service has been activated in SICF.
    Secondly I would check the settings in the IMG -> SAP WAS -> Know. Mgt. -> Settings in App. Sys. -> Usage of Help Type "Dynamic Help". The Tab PlainHtmlHttp should have a variant called CRM_HELP, Server Name (help.sap.com) and path.

  • IPhoto - MobileMe gallery subscription - problem with password-protected

    I am having a peculiar problem with subscribed galleries from MobileMe in iPhoto 08 and iPhoto 09. For galleries that have password-protection enabled, the full URL of the gallery subscription feed is pulled through as the Subscription title instead of the gallery title.
    For example "http://gallery.e.com/ACCOUNT-NAME/XXXXXX/?webdav-method-truthget&depth=infinit y&feedfmt=atom....
    This doesn't occur for public MobileMe galleries. The title of the gallery comes across and the URL of the subscription is hidden.
    Anyone having similar problems? Local Genius Bar couldn't help and assumed it was just a bug, but it doesn't seem to be typical of Apple.
    As an aside, it would also be nice to have these feed subscriptions behave similarly to the way RSS subscriptions work in Mail, with the ability to select how often the feed is queried and indicate the number of new items. This would alert users of changes to feeds.

    Upon further research, it appears that this problem occurs when publishing from either iPhoto or Aperture to MobileMe. The problem seems to be when a gallery is published and one chooses not to have the gallery appear on the main gallery page (hidden). It seems to have nothing to do with whether or not one protects the gallery with a password.
    So, Apple, if you are listening, can you provide any information on how to have the title of the gallery come through when subscribing using iPhoto while at the same time not listing the gallery on the main MobileMe gallery page? This seems to be a fixable bug.

  • IPhoto  + Mobiles accounts = Huge Problems - Please Help!

    I administer an Apple XServe on a primary school with leopard fully updated.
    We have about 20 macbook laptops which login using the wireless network and a number of hard wired iMacs.
    Five of those laptops are being used by teachers who want to take their laptops at home. So I have created mobile accounts for them. But since I've done that we've been having endless problems with syncing!
    I have configured them to sync every 10minutes and also during login and logout.
    Even if they have synced already the login/logout times are extremely long and during syncing iPhoto keeps duplicating it's libraries!!!
    I have tried to completely remove the network accounts and do them from scratch but eventually the problems come up.
    I am not thinking to completely disable the mobile accounts, create a local account for them and ask them to use USB sticks to transfer files to their network directories!
    Any experts on mobile accounts please help!

    I just do sync ONLY at log out (as all other times the process is toooo slow and gets in the way and the process is always painfully slow(that's why I leave the building) - the only time I do a sync at log in, is when I have been using my laptop over the weekend for example and I need changes on desktop. That is not a fun Monday morning as its - 1. log out laptop (wait ages for checking - sync the few small changes I made) 2. log in desktop (wait ages for checking - sync the few small changes I made) - sometimes it would be better to use a USB stick !
    I also noted that the iPhoto library checking is slow and if you ever open iPhoto and even if you do not do anything the entire library will sync again, I think this is due to it being a package, much like iCal backup files (they are a mega pain)
    getting right what you do and do not sync is an art in itself, but I need to sync iPhoto library however I am very careful and only open iPhoto now when I need to.
    I continue to be amazed at how slow checking is, I am sure this should be super fast (I heard it was in 10.4)
    anyway im over to Snow Leopard this week I wonder if it will be any better

  • After iphoto 9.1.5. problem with editing photos

    After I did the 9.1.5. update I have a problem with editing photo's. My photo's are about 35mb a piece.. they are panoramic photo's. Editing used to work perfect in iphoto 8.. after I went to iphoto 9 it became buggy.. (it crashes on certain photo's that 8 could handle without a problem).. but I learned to live with it. Now I did the 9.1.5. update and I can edit maybe 2 or 3 pics without a problem.. then when I get to number 4 Iphoto will show me a black screen.
    If I close iphoto and start it again, I can continue where I left off.. untill I get to a picture that seems to ruin the party.. and then I have to restart again..
    Iphoto 8 used to work so smooth with panoramic photo's.. dont know where it went wrong..

    There are several possible causes for the Black Screen issue
    1. Permissions in the Library: Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Include the option to check and repair permissions.
    2. Minor Database corruption: Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild.
    3. A Damaged Photo: Select one of the affected photos in the iPhoto Window and right click on it. From the resulting menu select 'Show File (or 'Show Original File' if that's available). Will the file open in Preview? If not then the file is damaged. Time to restore from your back up.
    4. A corrupted iPhoto Cache: Trash the com.apple.iPhoto folder from HD/Users/Your Name/Library/ Caches...
    5. A corrupted preference file: Trash the com.apple.iPhoto.plist file from the HD/Users/ Your Name / library / preferences folder. (Remember you'll need to reset your User options afterwards. These include minor settings like the window colour and so on. Note: If you've moved your library you'll need to point iPhoto at it again.)
    If none of these help:
    As a Test:
    Hold down the option (or alt) key key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Create Library'
    Import a few pics into this new, blank library. Is the Problem repeated there?

    I am also having the same problem. And i followed the same steps. But the help is still not working.
    1) CRM_BSP_F1_HELP is active in SICF
    2) And these are the values for the CRM_HELP entry in PlainHtmlHttp tab.
       a) Variant = CRM_HELP
       b) Platform = Windows NT
       c) Area = IWBHELP
       d) Server Names = help.sap.com
       e) Path = saphelp_crm40/helpdata
       f) Language = EN
       g) Default = true
    Everything looks good, but the popup still throws "Pages cannot be displayed" error.
    In the properties of the popup, i find the Address as
    res://C:\WINDOWS\system32\shdoclc.dll/dnserror.htm#http://http://help.sap.com/saphelp_crm40/helpdata/EN/c9/5bda36c65a3b0ae10000009b38f839/content.htm
    I think its putting "http://" twice for the link. And that creates the problem. Do you guys know any solution for this problem.

  • Problems with Help menu in photoshop CS2

    When I try and access the help menu and then "photoshop help" (or press the F1 Button) in photoshop cs2 I get the following error.
    "the operation could not be completed"
    I then press ok on this and the following pops up.
    "The instruction at "0x00864a4d" reverenced memory at "0X00F40B08". The memory could not be "written". Click ok to terminate the program"
    I have win xp professionals sp2 and am using cs2.
    Pc is lintel dual core with 2gb of ram.
    I have uninstalled and reinstalled but still recieve error.
    Does anybody have any ideas how to fix this?

    MTSTUNER's advice is right on in this case.  I've seen problems with the older versions of Photoshop not being able to write to their installation areas because of UAC.
    If Run As Administrator doesn't work, one additional thing you can try is to turn the UAC level down to the lowest setting, run Photoshop once, then return UAC to its default (or leave it off, your choice).

  • I'm new to Mac, after many PCs. I have a new "all in one" I use Hughesnet gen 4 for Internet. I can't use my Mac help menu...I get message that it is not available. I took it back to store and no problem with help menu. I was told by Apple Genius bar that

  • Is there a way to search for shots that iphoto is having a problem with?

    I have upgraded to ilife 08 and now have more than a few shots in a library of 10,000 shots that are missing their links
    have rebuilt all thumbnails and connections and whatnot but still the files that are messed up have stayed messed up
    I think I have backed up files elsewhere so I can reimport as need be (I think).
    so I would like to do a search (somehow) for the files that have problems
    and I would like to replace them/reimport backed up files
    is either/both possible?

    The problem is, Im afraid. that your database has been corrupted. I don't know of anyway to track down the photos that have been dropped from the db in the process, and re-importing them - if you could - would be to import to an unstable and damaged entity.
    Do you have an up-to-date back up? If so, try copy the library6.iphoto file from the back up to the iPhoto Library allowing it to overwrite the damaged file. If not, then you'll need to create and populate a new library.
    To create and populate a new library:
    Note this will give you a working library with the same film rolls and pictures as before, however, you will lose your albums, keywords, books, calendars, modified versions etc.
    Move the iPhoto Library to the desktop
    Launch iPhoto. It will ask if you wish to create a new Library. Say Yes.
    Go into the iPhoto Library (Right Click -> Show Package Contents) on your desktop and find the Originals folder. From the Originals folder drag the individual Events to the iPhoto Window and it will recreate them in the new library.
    When you're sure all is well you can delete the iPhoto Library Folder on your desktop.
    In the future, in addition to your usual back up routine, you might like to make a copy of the library6.iPhoto file whenever you have made changes to the library as protection against database corruption.

  • Problems with Help

    When I try to open Help in Aperture 3, I get a message that something like "The Help Library requires javascript. If Javascript is not enables you will not be able to view all the content."
    I have never seen this before, and Help works fine in the other applications I tried (Pages, Numbers, and Safari). I have tried restarting Aperture, restarting the computer, and even reinstalling Aperture. Does anyone have any ideas?

    I have a similar problem, but not exactly the same. I have Aperture 2 and installed the trial of Aperture 3. Now, I have never had this problem and still don't with other programs, but the "Help" function in Aperture 3 is incredibly slow. If I search for a topic, the help window goes blank and eventually the subject comes up. Also, on a couple of occasions I got an error message, but unfortunately didn't note it down. I'm wondering what makes the help function in this particular program run so slow? Apart from this strange anomaly the trail seems to run fine.

  • IPhoto/aperture color print problem - want help

    I have used my Canon i9900 many times.  Suddenly, it will not properly print if I tell it to print on photo paper.  If I make it think it is "plain paper," the colors come out ok.  but if I set it to print on photo paper, the colors are very off. 
    Any help appreciated.

  • Problem with Help Viewer

    I recently upgraded to Lion (10.7.3)
    I use Logic Pro and since the Lion installation, there is no longer any Logic Help in Helpviewer.
    When I try to get to the help from Logic, I just get an alert in Helpviewer that says the topic is not available.
    When I look in Helpviewer for Logic among all the apps, it isn't there.
    I'd appreciate some input here please:
    What files should be where in order for the Logic Pro Help topics to reappear?

    No advice from any Apple gurus here.....?
    Disregarding Logic itself, what would cause such a problem?

  • Problem with Help

    In Flash 8 I enjoied to place the cursor somwhere in the code
    and pressing F1 and then get the help topic about the command/word
    the cursor was placed in. In Flash CSR I get an "Error opening
    URL"-alert box when I start Help this way, and then I have to
    manually search up the help topic I need.
    The error happens when I´m editing class files. From the
    timeline actionscript editor it works well.
    Anybody know a fix? Thanks in advance!

    Try deleting the Help Viewer preference file: com.apple.helpviewer.plist
    /Users/YourName/Library/Preferences. Drag that file from the Preferences folder to the Trash, empty the Trash and reboot.

  • Iphoto 9.3.2 - problem with Apple-id

    It seems to that I have missed to update my IPhoto. I have the 9.3.2 version. When I try to do the update, I get an error saying "Another Apple-Id has been used for this App. You need to use that Apple-Id, please try again".
    I have no idea which Apple-Id, that I need to use when I originally downloaded the App. Somebody know how to solve this issue?

    Either figure out what Apple ID was used to purchase iPhoto (or to set up the computer if it came on it) or contact App store support (link on the right of the App store window) as only they can address account issues
