IPhoto 9.1.5 won't update because of different user, after Mavericks upgrade.

After my Mavericks upgrade half a year ago I can't update iPhoto. I've tried everything from removing the _MASReceipt and nothing works. First it says "This update is not available for this Apple ID..." and then "There was an error in the App store. Please try again later".
As far as I remember iPhoto was installed when I got the computer, so I don't understand.
Several times I've tried to solve this but always given up after trying for a very long time and nothing works.
Any solutions?

You need to log into the Apple ID that was used to set up the computer to update the software than came on the computer

You can't all apps are tied to the apple id that was used to purchase/download it.

The 2 places I’ve seen recommended most to buy reliable RAM are below. I have purchased RAM several times from Other World Computing and have always been very satisfied with the product and service. They have on-line instructions on how to replace the RAM. OWC has also tested RAM above what Apple states is the maximum. I now have 6GB installed on a early 2008 iMac supposedly limited to 4 GB and noticed an improvement.

I install latest update from my ipad 2, after the upgrade tablet running slowly. Probably the system requirements too high for my device. I think that users with older models should be able to install IOS 6.x.x on their devices or consider buying devices from other manufacturers ...
People are dissatisfied with the new update a lot, including some of my friends and acquaintances. Is it reasonable to wait until Apple implements the possibility to return to Ios Ios 6 to 7? And how soon it can be done?
Sorry for my english, i am from Russia.

I have a similar issue. I recently purchased an iPad Mini, and I started off by backing it up from the apps I had on my iPhone. Now, I have a number of apps that never downloaded and that I don't want on the iPad. Some of these are apps that I don't need, while others are the iPhone versions of apps. There are something like 23 apps that I have no use for, but iTunes tries to install every time I connect. I've also tried clicking the 'Will Install' buttons. There's no way to delete these apps from the iPad without first installing them, as far as I can see, and there's no way to NOT install them, in iTunes.
It''s not just annoying, it's causing problems with installation of larger files and movies. Now, every time I sync to the computer, I get a warning that I'm over capacity by 580 MB, and larger apps will not install! Clicking Revert and a bunch of other things doesn't work, either. And I can't just delete some of the apps, because I or my wife use them on our phones!

I've tried verifying the disk, and repairing the desk, but can't find a fix.  It won't launch at all ever since the Mavericks upgrade.

If you did not install the software following the upgrade but did some form of transfer or migration then you should probably uninstall and then use the Cleaner Tool.  After that install using the discs or a downloaded set  of installation files.

  • IMovie, IPhoto won't update after Mavericks upgrade from OSX 10.06

Upgraded to Mavericks, iMovie won't update, says, "This update is not available for this Apple ID either because it was bought by a different user or the item was refunded or cancelled." And then I get a null error.
However, I am using the only apple ID I have to sign in to the app store.

You can update for free to version 9.5.1 in the App store

I changed my itunes password when Apple began requiring a capital letter and number. But now my iphoto needs to be updated because the version I'm currently using isn't compatible with my imac. However, it says it can't update it because my password is different from the one i originally bought the app with. How do I update it?

  • IMovie won't update because of an old card.

    Hello!
Besides buying a new iMAC, what can I do to get an updated card for my iMAC (purch. 03/2008) so that I can update the newest version of OSX Maverick iMovie App??  I upgraded to OSX Maverick yesterday.  I'm not sure what my options are on this. Thanks!!

Nothing, you cannot upgrade the GPU in you iMac. Sorry for the bad news but if your machine is too old then well it's too old.

  • IPhoto update after mavericks upgrade

I recently upgraded os to mavericks on my MBA (2011). After the upgrade, I cannot use iPhoto unless I install the necessary update that the system requires. The problem is, the Apple account that I had once used several months ago appears on the Apple ID field as "canceled" account with the blank password field. The Apple ID field was disabled, so I couldn't even try it with my most recent Apple ID. I went ahead and filled the password field, and the message says "the account has been disabled."
I had a similar problem after changing my apple ID, but it was eventually fixed after trying a few solutions suggested on the internet and several software updates. I am stuck now after the mavericks upgrade.
Do I need to erase and re-install iPhoto? If so, will I need to purchase the app? And, will all my saved pictures on this computer be erased? I wanted to back up pic files, but I wasn't able to locate them (it seems like the pics are saved as a bundle within the iphoto app..)
    Please help! Thanks..

I would first contact App store support (link is on the right of the App store window) and see if they can help - if they can not then you probably will need to remove and repurchae the App
Backing up the iPhoto library simply involved making a copy of it - it does not involve opening it or doing anything with the internal parts of it - just a copy
And if you are not doing a regular backup (like Time Machine running all of the time doing hourly backups for example) then you are 100% guarenteed to lose yoru photos (and other files) sooner or later - bad things happen

  • My 9300 won't open certain music DL sites after OS upgrade

M'kay so I have a Curve 9300 and I recently upgraded my OS to V6.0.0.668. I'm in South Africa and my Carrier is Vodacom-SA.
Before the upgrade I could access MP3skull.com and BeeMP3 (music DL sites) with no problem and buffering was minimal. Now, after the upgrade, Beemp3 buffers music for eons and MP3skull's home page won't open at all... I'm met with a URL error (which I tried to get now but the screen stays white).
I'm frustrated coz the upgrade seems like more of a downgrade... My phones performance is terribly slow and my BB freezes which it never did on the prior OS.
Any help/ advice will be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

  • IMessages won't open after Mavericks upgrade

iMessages won't open after I upgraded to Mavericks. I keep getting prompted to "enter the keychain password," but I never created a keychain. I never used it before the upgrade, and I skipped the step during the upgrade because I did not want to use keychain and it was an option to skip it during set up.

    HI,
The OS X Mac have been using Keychains for a long time.
In the Applications/Utilities folder open Keychain Access.
This should show you at least two keychains.
The Login one for your Mac User account and the System one.
Generally speaking the Keychain keeps the passwords used by various apps and it needs to be Open.
In most cases the Login password for the Mac Account user is also the password that opens the Keychian when the computer is started up.
As each Mac User Account owns it's own Keychain there can be issues when you drag an account from one computer to another rather than using Migration Assistant.
i.e. you might Own it on one computer but not on another.
In the Finder > Go Menu hold down the ALT key and select the Library that appears.
In the library navigate to Keychains.
Click to highlight the Login one.
Now use the CMD and i keys together (Get Info)
At the Bottom unlock the padlock
Highlight the name that has (me) next to it (it should be your Shortname).
Once you have highlighted this use the cogwheel item at the bottom.
This should be greyed out but saying "Make you (Me) the Owner."
You should also have Read and Write permissions like in the Pic.

  • IPhoto and iMovie gone after Mavericks upgrade

I upgraded my MacBook Pro to Mavericks and lost ALL of my applications.  I finally have most everything back in order, but iPhoto and iMovie are gone and now the App Store says I need to purchase them.
Why should I have to purchase them when I already own them from the purchase of my MacBook Pro? Getting a free Mavericks upgrade should not cause me to have to spend $30 to get the applications back that I already owned in the first place.
Please help me restore those two applications.
    Thanks,
    Greg

    so please read my responce
2 - to get them back you reinstall from the original source - which may be the restore disk that came with your computer, a purchased iLife upgrade or the app store using the Apple ID  you used to set your computer up
Maybe it is clearer using bullet points rather that standard English puncuation
To get them back you reinstall from the original source
    which may be
1 - The restore disk that came with your computer,
    2 - a purchased iLife upgrade or
3 - the app store using the Apple ID  you used to set your computer up - in this case you go to the App store under purchases
Only you know what the original source is
As as to who should pay for yoru mistake  --  obviously if your mistake creates a cost then you should pay the cost you created - pretty simple stuff
As to Time Machine - yes they should be there but it is better to reinstall them - copying from a backup dose not work well for applications

  • Canon MP180 scanner won't be recognized after Mavericks upgrade

    Dear Apple Support Communities members,
My Canon MP180 scanner won't be recognized after Mac OS X 10.9 (Mavericks) upgrade: neither in Image Capture nor in MP180 standalone app.
    The printer works well though.
    Any idea?
    Thanks a lot.
    Best wishes,
    Yves

    Well...
I asked Canon support and got the answer that OS X 10.9 (Mavericks) was not supported.
I am kindly being suggested either to downgrade from 10.9 or to buy another scanner. Cool.
