IPhoto 9.3.2 Crashing on Startup (Mountain Lion)
Installed Mountain Lion today and completed the system and application updates. iPhoto 9.3.2 continues to crash on startup. Sent a crash report to Apple.
I am not techincally savvy enough to decipher the crash report. Any body else having the same problem?
Stock 20.5 inch iMac (mid-2011), OSX 10.8, 12Gb RAM.
I was having a similar problem. After upgrading to iPhoto 9.3.2, it was continuously crashing when I tried to open it. I re-installed OSX, upgraded to Mountain Lion, checked my memory, installed a new HD, deleted every plist, db, and cache, did a complete re-install of all of my applications and data only to have none of it work. The final solution was very unsophisticated, I installed an old version of iLife11 which "broke" the installation of iPhoto (it wouldn't run at all) and then I installed a fresh copy of iPhoto 9.3.2. Problem solved! I certainly don't guarantee that this will work for anyone else, but I wanted to pass it along just in case it works for someone else.

Bridge Crashes on Startup (Mountain Lion)
My Bridge CS5.5 keeps crashing on startup. I did read that .zip files were doing this so I have made sure that none were left, and it worked......for 2 days. I also installed and ran Onyx and this helped Bridge run better it seemed, till today. Here is the error I keep getting:

I did that in the Terminal and shortly after that the crashes started for me.
I just updated to 10.8.2 and that made the user Library-folder invisible again.
At the same time Bridge started behaving properly.
Not saying that's anything other than a coincidence. -

IPhoto 8.1.2 crashes on startup
This issue just started a couple days ago. iPhoto 8.1.2 crashes at startup. Opening starts normally but only gets to the point that the blank iPhoto window pops up (no photos or menus shown) and then it crashes unexpectedly after only a few seconds. Have tried repairing disk permissions and trashing the plist. No success. Any suggestions?
May I offer another version of this problem...
This is was happened:
iPhoto 8.1.2 crashed while starting,
I used the rebuilt function (ALT+Command etc),
iPhoto rebuilt the library and told me that it is non compatible to the old library and has to rebuild it.
But after this process iPhoto 8.1.2 still crashes.
BUT: I always could see my photos, the places and faces, and correct sorting of the photos to the folders events by using iWeb, iMovie or when synchronizing my iPhoto Library with my iPhone. Only this new software iPhoto 8.1.2 was not able to use the existing library.
Then:
The apple telephone hotline recommended to recover the iPhoto Library from my Time Capsule using the program Time Machine. I was strictly recommended not to remove something from the preferences, otherwise I could loose the sorting of single photos into Events...
Now:
All pictures are present (= recovered from folder Originals), all changes are present (= from folder Modified) and all my photos are visible in iWeb, iMovie etc,
BUT each photo has turned now to a single own event,
and no faces or places are present any more.
I used your discussion on this site to late! I installed the program iPhoto Library Manager and learned, that the file Album Data is missing! This is needed to sort the single photos to Places, Faces and the Events.
RESULTS:
The backup by Time Machine was really bad.
iPhoto 8.1.2 still crashes.
I have still no solution.
Maybe I will buy Aperture and try to recover the Album Data information from the lost file.
Presumably I will have to sort approx. 9500 single photos.
First I will have coffee now... -

Option in MAIL to "Add to iPhoto" isn't working after updating to Mountain Lion. Anybody else with this problem or sulution?
A brief search. Or even glancing at the "more like this" list to the right will show that this is a known problem and there is no current solution. Workaround includ saving to the desktop and importing from there or opening in Quick Look and adding to iPhoto from there

IPhoto 9.3.2 crashing on startup after upgrade to 10.8 then 10.8.1
Help,
after opening iphoto this morning and importing a bunch of photos from my camera I started getting constant crashes. I successfully imported the photos (first connection), then I took some more and connected my camera agian for a second import. Shortly after that iphoto (9.3.2) crashed. At that stage I was running 10.8. I have unable to successfully open iphoto all day - at least 20-30 attempts. I have restarted. Verified and repaired disk permissions. Verified the disk. Ran a hardware test. No apparent problems and no improvment to iphoto. I downloaded the 10.8.1 upgrade this afternoon - no fix.
I have ran the rebuild with iPhoto Library Manager - built a new library but could not connect to iphoto to complete the library copy/rebuild.
This is not the only crash problem I have been experiencing with Moutain Lion. I have also had similar, yet not as persistent, problems with iTunes - requiring a new libary rebuild. This caused all of my apps to disappear off my ipad. They still existed in the media files (music/itunes/media/etc) but had to be manually copied back to the itunes lib.
Also third party apps are crashing. Vectorworks 2012, Livesribe, Endnote X5.
Upgrading to Mountain Lion was the worst apple software experience I have ever had. I'm a 10-15 year user.
It took me clean installing 7 times. Back tracking to Snow Leopard, then a new user install of 10.8. Took me 4 days and required too many time machine recoveries. I seemed to have some serious corrupt file issues rleated to using migration assistant over a number of machines????

14 libsystem_c.dylib 0x9a28ecca start_I was having a similar problem. After upgrading to iPhoto 9.3.2, it was continuously crashing when I tried to open it. I re-installed OSX, upgraded to Mountain Lion, checked my memory, installed a new HD, deleted every plist, db, and cache, did a complete re-install of all of my applications and data only to have none of it work. The final solution was very unsophisticated, I installed an old version of iLife11 which "broke" the installation of iPhoto (it wouldn't run at all) and then I installed a fresh copy of iPhoto 9.3.2. Problem solved! I certainly don't guarantee that this will work for anyone else, but I wanted to pass it along just in case it works for someone else.

IPhoto 6.0.6 crashes at startup
Hello forum!
I get crashes at startup with iPhoto 6.0.6 and I've been unsuccsessfull in resolving it on my own.
Here's what I've done:
* I've repaired premissions with disk utility - that made no difference.
* I've deleted the iPhoto.plist file - not much luck there either, iPhoto happliy recreates it and crashes.

Iphoto 9.2.3 crashes at startup after upgrade.
Hi All,
after updating iPhoto 9.2.3 with a patch coming from the software update, iPhoto won't open anymore.
It crashes as soon as it starts up.
I've tried to remove the com.apple.iPhoto.plist file from the user library, but it keeps crashing.
Here is the track that comes up everytime I open Iphoto.
I'm running Lion on iMac 2007.
Any help would be extremely appreciated!

IPhoto and iMovie will not open with Mountain Lion upgrade.
Since upgrading to Mountain Lion OS 10.8, my iPhoto and iMovie will not open. I am using a newly purchased MB Air. I re-installed iPhoto from the App Store after trashing my previously installed iPhoto application. IPhoto Library Manager was downloaded as recommended on Apple Support but also will not open. I also tried to trach the iPhoto plist as recommended by a community member. Each application (iPhoto and iMovie) bounces above the dock and message received that application unexpectedly closed. Thank you for any recommendations.

IPhoto hangs after 9.3.2 update/Mountain Lion upgrade...must force quit to close.
I updated to iPhoto 9.3.2 this morning. Then, I upgraded to OS X Mountain Lion. I can open iPhoto and use it, without any noticeable problems, however, when I try to quit iPhoto, it hangs indefinitely. It doesn't crash, it just doesn't quit. In order to close it, I have to use Force Quit, which does close it. But there's obviously a problem...
I don't seem to be having any other issues, but this isn't the first time I've experienced minor issues with iPhoto on my early 2008-build iMac...iPhoto has been glitchy (slow, temporarily freezes) for quite a while...I keep thinking these updates will solve the problem, but they don't seem to help/make it worse...
Any suggestions/ideas?

Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Repair Database. If that doesn't help, then try again, this time using Rebuild Database.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

Mail crash on startup after Lion upgrade (with my solution)

I'm sure others will run in to the same scare I did when my mail would crash on startup after upgrading to Lion so I thought I would post my solution. It turns out a new mail app is installed with Lion but I had moved my previous mail app to a sub folder in my applications directory. After the upgrade the old version was not updated but the new version of Mail was installed in the Application root directory. Since my mail doc icon was still linked to my old Mail app it was crashing on startup. I deleted my old mail app, clicked on the new Mail app that was installed in my Application root directory, let the mail database update and all seems well now.
This is the second time I have been bitten by moving my Applications around. I have had a similar issue with iWork, and iPhoto. I guess the lesson is to leave your apps in your Application root directory.
Hope this helps someone else.That you can create a new user and it works for them suggests it's some sort of corruption in your user profile.
Have you tried repairing the SharePoint Workspace/Office installation?

Frequent blank screen/freezes/crashes with OSX Mountain Lion
I updated to OSX Mountain Lion a few weeks ago. Now, after startup, my computer continuously gets slower with the number of applications that have been opened (even if I have closed them after I'm done with them) until it finally goes to a black screen where I can only see/move the mouse but nothing else- I don't even get the SBBOD. Ultimately I shut it down because its unresponsive. After rebooting, it most often tells me the culprit applications are either Safari or Adobe Reader, but occassionally its others like MS Word, iPhoto, and R. I'd like to think my system is powerful enough not be slowed down by such trivial applications (15" MBP Early 2011, 2.3 GHz i7, 8GB RAM, 256GB SSD). On a side note, I've upgraded to both OSX Lion and then OSX Mountain Lion without ever doing a clean install- if that may be an aggravating factor? I thought disk space might be an issue so I downloaded MacKeeper to clean up my HD. While it recovered a lot of space on my HD by removing duplicates it hasn't done anything to improve this situation. I've also used the disk utility to repair disk permissions and repair disk. Any ideas? Should I call Apple?
Other symptoms:
-iStatpro and other items on dashboard screen are always extremely delayed
-I can tell its going to happen soon when pressing command+space doesn't open the spotlight menu. But when I look over to iStat it says its running at normal T, fans are turning fast, and there ~3-4 GB RAM free...Welcome to Apple Communities
