IPhoto 9.4.2 unable to reactivate photo stream

Since the update to 9.4.2 I can't use the photo stream option any more. It is activated in the preferences but iPhoto wants me to activate it anyway. Playing around with the preferences doesn't help. Any idea?

Problem solved
In Preferences -> iCloud I signed out from iCloud and signed in again. Everything is working fine now on three (3) Macs.

I recently re-loaded iphoto, and now am unable to upload photos from my camera - saying there is insufficient disk space. does anyone have a solution?

Assuming you have space on your disk, then it could be a symptom of a damaged Library.
    Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
    If that fails:
    Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one. .

  • IPhoto 9.6, after subscribing to a photo stream it reports there are no photos in that stream - on my iPad (iOS 8.0.2) they show fine.. Fixes?

iPhoto 9.6, after subscribing to a photo stream it reports there are no photos in that stream - the stream shows (right title but it says there are no photos in the stream - other streams are just fine - on my iPad (iOS 8.0.2) they show fine.. Fixes?

Same issue here both with my iphone 5S as well as my iPad2. THe sync to my macbook air does not complete and it shows a large overcapacity level when connected, but once I disconnect there is plenty of room (4 GB) available, not a 20 GB overage.

  • If i delete a photo in my iphoto library that I added to a photo stream, does it delete it from the photo stream?

If i delete a photo in my iphoto library that I added to a photo stream, does it delete it from the photo stream?

i can't tell if my question is the same, or slightly different, but this thread seems closest to my question so i will ask it here so as to not duplicate:
on my iphone 6 i have icloud photos beta on. in iphoto on my computer, i have photostream on, but auto import off. so, the only thing i have for photo stream photos is "icloud" under the shared heading.
when i delete a photo from the icloud section in photo, it does not delete it from the photos beta app in beta.icloud.com. if i had auto import turned on, i would think this would be normal functioning with respect to the actual events that get imported, but since i have it turned off and am working with photostream itself i would have thought it would delete from the photos app on the website when i delete it from the stream in iphoto.
similarly, deleting a photo from the photos app on the icloud website does not delete it from the iphoto photostream if i had already opened iphoto and thus the album had already been updated (though if i delete the photo from the beta website before opening iphoto, it won't show up in iphoto since it was deleted from photostream before iphoto updated from photostream).
so, as it stands - my iphoto only sort of syncs with photostream. is everyone experiencing this? i'll be honest - i still don't get the new icloud drive and photos, so maybe the issue i am having is exactly what the photos app for osx is intended to correct when it comes out next year. or am i just wrong in how i think the syncing is supposed to function?

  • How can I share iphotos with others on the web using photo stream?

The apple instructions for iPhoto 11 says:
It’s easy to create a photo stream to share your photos. You can also view the photos you’ve already shared.
To create a shared photo stream:
Select the photos you want to share.
In the toolbar, click the Share button, choose Photo Stream from the pop-up menu, and then click New Photo Stream. The New Shared Photo Stream dialog appears.
In the To field, type the email addresses for your invitees. To enable your invitees to access the shared photo stream from an iOS device, you must provide the email addresses associated with their iCloud accounts.
In the Name field, type a name for the photo stream.
    etc
All I get is that photo is already shared, or no dialogues at all
I certainly never get a chance to choose a "New Photo Stream" oenter an email address

  • HT201077 Unable to share photo stream

Hi, My my friend sent me a photo stream request.
    When I click on "join this photo stream" it comes up with a messege;

    Can someone help ? Thanks

You posted this in the Aperture list, are you having problems with Photo Stream in Aperture or on your phone?

  • Unable To Share Photo Stream With Anyone

ve been navigating the very unintuitive process to share photos on both the Photos App on the iPad as well as iPhoto on OS X.  I understand the iPhone adds yet another different way to do the same thing, so we'll skip that for now as this has more to do with the actual service it seems since I cannot share photos with anyone else from either the iPad or the Mac.
In short: When I try to add a name to the list of shared persons, I enter the e-mail address in the field, and when I click away and click back on the Mac, the e-mail address is gone. I am the only person listed on the shared list of people. Similarly the iPad gives me the ability to add a name, but doesn't show me who is already subscribed ... at least it doesn't show me (the owner) as it does on the iPhoto App. When I enter an e-mail address there, it shows up under the "Subscribers" for an instant, then immediately dissapears. iPhoto on the Mac confirms that they were not added to the subscriber list.
OK, so what goes on here? I could understand it might be an upgrade related issue if it didn't happen on both my Mac and my iPad. So is this yet another Apple bug of a promoted feature of iOS 6? Or am I just not understanding how to do this? I can't find any instructions anywhere to confirm whether I am doing it correctly.
Bottom line: I cannot add ANYBODY to the shared subscriber list the way it is adverstised that I am supposed to be able to.
Is there some criterea that I am overlooking for they type of subscriber who can be added? It doesn't seem to work with .mac, or .me iCloud addresses, nor any others. So I am at a loss.
    Thanks ...

Hi, yes, I've created a Stream that's available to the public, via the "public website" option. I've tried to enter both iCloud (@me, @mac) addresses as well as others (Gmail, Yahoo), and neither the iPad, nor iPhoto take them. They appear briefly but then go away. My understanding is that there is supposed to be some kind of invitation sent which the reciever must accept before the stream becomes shared with them, but so far none of the test e-mails have resulted in this "invitation".
I do not have Aperture, but I do have the iPhoto app on the iPad, recently updated for iOS 6, and it does not even have the option to share to Photo Stream, which I thought was supposed to do.
This seems very strange that it is working on none of my devices. I am just updating my iPhone 3GS now (waiting to update my iPhone 4 until I figure out a good solution for the Maps debacle). I will post back the results if I am having any better luck with the iPhone than I have with the iPad or iPhoto on the Mac.

  • IPhoto crashes ever since switching to iCloud Photo stream

First all of my software is current - iPhoto 9.2, ios 5, Lion 10.7.2.  With Photo stream turned on iPhoto crashes every time I try to open it.  Any ideas?

It's okay I found the fix elsewhere.

  • What version of iPhoto do I need to work with Photo Stream?

My photos taken on my iPad do not appear on my iMac even though  ICloud is set up and working.  I think the problem is that my version of iPhoto is 7.4 and I need 9.0 or above for iCloud to transfer photos without syncing.  I do not have iLife.  Will I have to purchase that in order to get the correct version of iPhoto so it will work with iCloud?  I don't really want iLife but if it is the only way i can get the iPhoto version I need, I guess I will have to purchase it.

    "I do not have iLife"
Yes you do. It has been standard on all Macs for about 9 years.
"I think the problem is that my version of iPhoto is 7.4 and I need 9.0 or above for iCloud to transfer photos without syncing.  I do not have iLife.  Will I have to purchase that in order to get the correct version of iPhoto so it will work with iCloud?"
Yes, you will need to purchase iPhoto 9 to use iCloud Photo Stream.
Go to Apple menu > App store.
You can purchase only iPhoto 9 ?$14.99).
You do not need the entire iLife 11 package.

  • Unable to access Photo Stream from email invite

I have been invited to a photo stream by a friend via an email to my Gmail account. When I click the 'Join this photo stream' link it takes me to a page telling me that I need OSX 10.8.2, iPhoto 9.4, be logged in to iCloud and press the 'Join this photo stream' link again. I have fulfilled all of this however it just keeps returning me to this page instead of allowing me to join the photo stream. Does anybody know how to solve this? Thanks.

Did you get this in the email?
If so try the link at the bottom of the email.

  • HT201317 I am unable to check photo stream for the icloud control panel. windows 7

Does anyone know what causes this and how can I fix it? I have been driving myself crazy. It has worked before, but suddenly it is not.

If you're trying to add photos to photo stream on your PC, you drag them to your photo stream uploads folder (normally My Pictures\Photo Stream\Uploads).

  • Can't watch video on my iCloud. Message says 'unable to complete photo streaming'.

I cannot watch a video on my iCloud. A message appears: photo streaming cannot be completed. H

Note...I had to Boot in Safe-Mode go to the \etc\ folder fine and "RENAME" hosts to "host2". Than Reboot the pc; I opened both browsers and went to CBS and tried the videos...Now they work!
I apologize to you at ZoneAlarm whom attempted to help and I hope you can keep this information just in case another user runs into this problem. Also if you know anyone at Microsoft, I'd like too know if they were aware or knew this problem existed. I do not know if the "hosts"(2) change will cause a problem later but FireFox should know of this problem too!

  • How can I get photos edited in iPhoto to update previously uploaded images in photo stream?

As soon as I import photos to iPhoto on my mac they upload to photostream, which is great, exept when I edit them (for example to remove red eye) they don't update on the photostream so when I look on my iPad they are the origanal photos. Can anyone tell me if there is a way of refreshing the pictures on the photostream with the latest edit. I have tried editing the photostream version but it takes me to the version in my iPhoto library which has already been edited. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

    You can't do this.
Photostream is simply - and only - a replacement for importing. Once the file is imported them that's it. Photstream has no further role.

  • TS4403 unable to view photo stream in windows

I am unable to view my photostream on my pc.  I keep getting an error that iphotostream stopped working do I wish to debug or cancel I'm not sure how to fix this. It also says that photostream is not enabled in the windows folder, but it has been enabled in the icloud control panel. Thanks.

You first need to go into the System/iCloud preference pane and activate PhotoStream:
Then you'll be able to activate it in iPhoto.
