Iphoto 9.4.2 update won't start on os x 10.7.5

Every time I open software update and I click on install updates, it begins the download for iPhoto 9.4.2 (currently the only update I have left), but then it stops and says that it is corrupt so it can't finish the download. I have attached an image of the exact message I get.
Any ideas on how to fix?
Steps taken:
-reset PRAM and SMC
-verify and repair disk permissions
-restarting computer

Found the answer thanks to another post on the Apple Forums. The iTunesHelper app in Login Items was an older location of an older iTunes which was somehow not replaced.
Replacing it was not entirely easy. I could remove it easily enough, but because the current iTunesHelper.app lives inside the iTunes.app bundle, you cannot navigate from System Preferences - Users&Groups - Login Items as it won't open iTunes.app to look for other apps inside.
So, I opened Terminal.app and typed
open /Applications/iTunes.app/Contents/MacOS
this opens a Finder window. Here you find the correct iTunesHelper.app. That one can be dragged to the login items in System Preferences.

IPhoto 6.0.6 update won't let me burn DVDs correctly

I was backing up my photos to DVD today via iPhoto. I burned one disc before I did the 10.4.9 update and it worked fine. After I downloaded and installed the 10.4.9 & iPhoto updates I go to burn a disc and it says the Burn Failed. So, I put in the disc again. Mac OS X saw it was a blank DVD so I tried again. Still! - it won't burn!
So I try another blank DVD, and then another - each time the disc is inserted it's seen as a blank DVD. I don't understand it. It's the same brand I used before the 10.4.9 update & iPhoto and now suddenly Im having problems.
I'm guessing one of the updates (or both of them) changed something. Because now I can't backup my photos to a DVD. I tried repairing permissions and even restarting my iMac. Is anybody else having the same problem?
I am running Mac OS X 10.4.9 and iPhoto version: 6.0.6 (322)

Any help would be wonderful, I just need to burn the last disc to complete my iPhoto backup.

Ok big update. I burned another album using iPhoto and it worked fine. Seems that this problem is not isolated to burning discs, it's isolated to copying these files all together. Something is fishy and I have no idea what's wrong.
I attempted to copy all of the 4,000 (from the album I wanted to burn originally) or so photos to my external Hard Drive. It was about to copy them when I get an error message saying "IM000914_1.JPG" is busy. That's it - it doesn't give me any options, but "OK" I click OK and the process stops. So I remove the file in question. I go to copy the photos again, bam! Another problem with a different file name. I can't understand what's going on. So at this point I re-built the Library and Thumbnail caches again. I try it again - same problem.
The similarities between the files are interesting. All were taken around 2004 and were transfered from my old iBook a while ago. They usually have a filter or were modified from the original. And all of the file names end with an underscore and a number, for example "_1.jpg" or "_2.jpg". There are no other programs that are using these file so this puzzles me why they would be in use.
If I try and copy the individual file that's "busy" it will copy fine. But if I select it as a group and try and copy, it gives me an error message and fails to copy. I wish there was a way to locate which out of the 4,000 + files are bad, but the album I have is mixed with photos from 2004 to 2005. It would be impossible to locate all of them by hand. I'm thinking maybe if I can somehow copy the files from the select album via FireWire Target disk mode maybe the files wouldn't be "In use" - but I can't think of a way to select all of the photos in the album out of iPhoto.
I'm confused and frustrated with this one, any help would be great.
The exact error message reads "The selected items cannot all be put into the same location, because at least one of them named "<filename>" is busy. [OK]

IPod crashed during updater - Won't start, weird icon

Hi!
I attached my iPod to my computer this morning to put more tunes on it. The computer recognized my unit, but told me I needed to update the software, so I did. After I clicked on Update, I was told to plug it in to an outlet to complete the update. Once I did that, the apple logo showed up and then I saw a new icon -briefly- that looked like it was directing me to connect to USB. I cannot find this icon in ANY troubleshooting or technical materials.
Now, my iPod won't start. I did the 5 "r" and tried to manually reset 8 times. It still won't start!!!

If you have a FireWire cable, you can try starting up your Mac in FireWire Target Disk Mode. (Hold the "t" key down at startup.) Then plug your Mac into hers with a 6-pin to 6-pin FireWire cable. Your hard drive should appear on her Desktop. Then you can use her Disk Utility to verify/repair your hard drive. Note that it would be best if she was running the same version of Mac OS X that you have installed on your computer. For example, you don't want to try to repair a Mac OS X 10.4.x hard drive from a Mac with Mac OS X 10.3.x.

CS2- Adobe Updater won't start

I have Photoshop CS2 and have recently started to use it after a long hiatus. When I start it, I get a message that Adobe Updater would not start, and something (the updater?) should be reinstalled. CS2 seems to be working perfectly. What should I do, besides ignoring that message?
Also, can someone tell me what the latest version of the Adobe Raw Converter is which is compatible with CS2?

Correct, they are NOT. You would need at least ACR 4.1, which does NOT run in CS2.

Correct again. Use the DNG Converter 5.3. It is a stand-alone application and you should always use the latest version.

Software Updater Won't start anymore

When Trying to update to 10.7.4 to 10.7.5 my systems seems to have broken

Ipod Touch 3.1.1 update won't start

Hi there,
I want to update my ipod touch from 3.0 to 3.1.1.
but i cant even start the update process.
It doesn't matter if I select "Just load update" or "load and install update.
I get the error code 504 after a second.
any ideas?

Yes today I tried plugging in my ipod touch and there was a update available.
The 3.1.1 update and I had a problem with it also,it started to update and then it came up error code and ipod was frozen after it almost updated but up came a error code.
First I left usb cable for ipod still plugged in while I shut down computer.
second make sure you are using the usb cable without the dock and disconnect now.
Third turn computer back on and turn off your firewall and plug usb cable back into ipod then computer and do a restore when it shows on the itunes.It might read something like complete restore and hit yes.
It erases everything on ipod but after restore it should update to latest version and all your syn lists will work as normal.
Mine restored and update worked and synced everything as usual without losing any data.
You might have itunes to open when ipod touch is plugged in but if it doesnt just open itunes and your device should show and start the restore.

I have followed the FAQ on this and have checked that indeed those are added to the list of exceptions on the firewall. I have a good internet connection. What else could be wrong?

BIOS update won't start on Satellite L40-14F

My laptop's been acting wonky so I downloaded the latest BIOS update, but when I opened it a little black window popped up for a brief second and then nothing happened.
I tried it multiple times, it did the same thing. I'm using Windows XP with SP3. I'd appreciate any help :(

Updates won't start downloading - get an MSN Search box instead

new computer....trying to update softward after installing ipod mini with my original disk. updates will not begin but i get a very small msn search box instead. we have no spyware or viruses according to my security software.

System recovery worked,hp update won't start

I did a system recovery on a presario cq60 note book it worked fine ,but now when I try to run hp update nothing comes up I checked the c: drive and the files are there but I can't run it. How can I check if the driver is ok.

10.4.4 updated - won't start

Hi,
well, i have a big problem. On wednesday i updatet my Mac os 10.4.3 to 10.4.4. After the setup i wanted to reboot the system. Well i failed because the system froze. So i turned the computer off with the I/O-Button on the backsite and restartet it.
Well, my problem is, that theres just the loading screen the whole time. No Mac os x with blue background. never. it's loading and loading and loading. i tried to repair the hdd with disk utility, but the first time it failed, the second time it was very quick, so i guess it's fully broken now lol. ****.
if i'll try to reinstall mac os x, there's no hdd. so i have to delete the whole partition. but there are important files on it.
can somebody help me? please! that would be great ^^.

I've found some new information. After reading this post http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1583762&tstart=0 , I booted the machine again, and sure enough, I was able to see it on one of my other computers. I was able to login, and the machine is fine. The video is just dead, you can't even hook up an external monitor too it. I'm on the phone with Apple right now, letting them know, that this is not a coincidence, and I'll give further details as I get them.

IPhoto won't start up

Okay, I opened up iPhoto after installing the latest update (6.0.2) and now iPhoto won't start up. I tried reinstalling from the iLife 06' DVD, and it still won't work.
(By the way, I'm using Front Row enabler, if that helps at all)

-First make sure your Pictures folder has the correct permissions for you, the user. Do this by highlightling the Pictures folder, hit Command i to bring up the info pane.
Make sure you are the owner and have read and write permissions. Click the button at the bottom of the window.

IPhoto 4.0.3 won't start

Hi,
my iPhoto won't start properly. It'll start up but then it gets stuck with the message "loading photos".
It is iPhoto 4.0.3 . I downloaded a 4.0.3 update for iPhoto but when I try to install it it says that "iPhoto updater cannot be installed on this computer. Neither iPhoto 4.0 nor iPhoto 4.0.1 could not be found in /Applications."
Yet it IS in the Applications folder.
Can anyone help?

Start iPhoto and immediately press and hold the option+shift keys until you're asked to confirm that you want to rebuild your library. Click "Yes", then click "Save". Depending on how many photos you have, you can go grab a sandwich. iPhoto 4 may crash upon finishing the rebuild, but it's nothing to worry about. Just restart iPhoto normally, and you should be back in business.
You probably have a corrupt album (or keywords) somewhere, so you may find you need to do some minor reconstruction.

What installed iPhoto there in the first place? Was it the same version of iPhoto that came with the Mac? Was iLife added at a later time from a Mac Box Set? You can selectively install iPhoto, and then apply the appropriate iLife update without taking it to the shop, after removing the application, or recover it from your backup.

Did you download the new iTunes update that was also released this afternoon? That might be the problem. The new iTunes update came out today as well as the new iOS 7 update and if you haven't downloaded the new iTunes update it may be a compatibility problem so if you didn't, first update to the new iTunes and try again.
