Iphoto 9.5.1 imports from nikon D7100 are flat
My iphoto 9.5.1 imports from nikon D7100 are flat, and the iPhoto controls do not seem to give as much control as earlier version i am upgrading from.
Export the photo out of iPhoto via the File ➙ Export ➙ File Export menu option with Kind = Original to the Desktop and view them with Preview. Do they look flat there?
Are you shooting RAW or JPEGs?

Why won't LR5 automatically save my original RAW imports from Nikon D7100?
Why won't LR5 save my original RAW imports from D7100. I can import them and process them but the originals are then lost. What am I doing wrong? With every other camera the original RAW image is saved in the library.
Another guess as to what is happening is that your Folders panel section was accidentally closed/hidden in Library.
To fix this, right-click on another section name in the lefthand panel and put a checkmark next to Folders.
The possible sections on the left in Library are:
Navigator (which cannot be closed or right-clicked on)
Catalog
Folders
Collections
Publish Services
A variation of this situation would be that instead of hiding the Folders section entirely, you've merely collapsed it.
To reveal the list of folders click the triangle that is pointing towards Folders so that it points down at a now expanded Folders section. -
Does elements 11 open RAW files from Nikon D7100
Having problems in opening RAW files from my Nikon D7100 in elements 9. Want to know whether elements 11 will open it?
Barries99
Yes. Photoshop Elements 11 and Premiere Elements 11 should open your Nikon D7100 raw files if Camera Raw 7.4 is installed.
Raw images from Nikon D7100 are not supported until Photoshop Elements 11 and Premiere Elements 11.
http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/camera-raw-plug-supported-cameras.html
Make sure that the Elements 11 version is updated for Camera Raw 7.4. See Help Menu/Updates.
If you are going to stay with your Photoshop Elements 9 Premiere Elements 9.0/9.0.1, you can use the DNG converter
to get .dng.
http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=106&platform=Windows
Remember, you need a version of Camera Raw that supports your camera as well as a version of Camera Raw that is suppported
by the version of Photoshop Elements Premiere Elements that you have.

LR2.7 does not bring up images from Nikon D7100
LR 2.7 does not bring up images from Nikon D7100 which I have just purchased. I have downloaded latest DNG raw converter 7.4 but does not work. The images come through fine in Bridge but not Lightroom. What is the problem?
Since camera makers insist on their own proprietary file formats, Adobe must provide support for each new camera as it is introduced. When a new version of Lightroom is released all development and support for the previous version ends. Your camera wasn't even mentioned or introduced when Lightroom 2.7 was released. Consequently, there can be no support for it. When you buy the newest camera model you should expect to also buy updated software to support that camera. In any event, the raw processing in the latest version of Lightroom is so far superior to what you have you really need to upgrade your Lightroom. You might consider using the Lightroom 5 beta until the official release.
Are you sure the DNG converter doesn't work? You only point it to the folder containing your raw files. The DNG converter doesn't list the contents of the folder. You will only see a list of your NEF files after you click the button to convert them. -
I cannot view images imported from nikon d4
i cannot view images imported from nikon d4.
I have just upgraded to the most current version of aperture and when I import images from my qxd card it looks like it is importing but no images show up.So the images show up in the Import pane of Aperture but after you press the Import button they do not show in the project you are importing into?
Does this happen for both Raw and JPG images? -
Can I upgrade from my PE9 to PE11? Does PE11 supports RAW files from Nikon D7100, because PE9 does not. Does Photoshop Lightroom 5 support RAW files from the Nikon D7100?
The DNG converter does not convert RAW files from the Nikon D7100.
AndréYes, the latest FREE DNG Converter (version 8.1) will support Nikon D7100 raw photos. Then, you can use the RAW photos in PSE9 (or PSE11).
Lightroom 5 also can handle Nikon D7100 photos. -
Opening NEF file from Nikon D7100 i Photoshop Elements 11, problem.
Hi
Photoshop Element no. 11 do not open NEF file from Nikon D7100.
Versjon of element: Adobe Photoshop Elements Version: 11.0 (11.0 (20120830.r.32025)) x32
Pleas help me.
Martin HøeghHow do I update Adobe Bridge CS4 so that I can view NEF files?
Unfortunately, you don't. Bridge can never be updated again once a new version of Creative Suite comes out, so bridge CS4 can't be updated past where it was back when CS5 came out. There is no way to make bridge CS4 see the raw files for the D7100, I'm afraid. -
Cannot open .avi files imported from Nikon d90 in Adobe Premiere 6.0.
Cannot open .avi files imported from Nikon d90 in Adobe Premiere 6.0.
When I try to open the file I get the following error message:
"cannot open that file
the file uses an unsupported file compression format"
I really need urgent help with this so if you know a soloution, please post it!I don't do mjpeg so you will have to search the forum for advice
But... having a playback codec installed does not ALWAYS mean the codec will work for Premiere editing
After you search the forum and find the (I think free) codec vendors, you will need to install fresh so Premiere will "see" the codec for editing
Or, Google
convert mjpeg avi
To convert to DV AVI type 2 with 48khz sound so the files will "natively" edit in Premiere
My GUESS (you didn't say) is the d90 is a STILL camera that has a video function, not a true camcorder
If you plan to do much video work, you need a tape-based DV camcorder so you use Firewire to do a digital transfer as a "real" AVI that Premiere may edit without conversion or extra software
For a Firewire DV Camera - look at Panasonic PV-GS320 or GS500 (Note that I have not used either, but they have good reviews)

I have looked all over the web for this answer, but have failed to find it. I have a new Nikon D7100. I took photos with it using the lossless compressed RAW format. I transferred the files on my PC using Nikon Transfer. However, Lightroom 5.5. (on the same PC) will not import the files from their folder--like it does for JPEG files. Lightroom says my version is up-to-date. Help!
No plug-in is needed to import RAW files from a Nikon D7100 to LR5.
However, if you have used certain versions of Nikon software to move the photos from the camera to a hard disk, then this may be interfering, and causing LR to not recognize the photos. The solution is to import directly from the camera card to Lightroom (if the photos are still on the camera card), or if not try http://owl.phy.queensu.ca/~phil/exiftool/fix_corrupted_nef.html -
Import NEF files from Nikon D7100
Ich habe die aktuellen PS CC, Bridge CC, ACR- und DNG Versionen installiert. Dennoch werden meine NEF-Dateien meiner Nikon D7100 nicht erkannt.
Support for the Nikon D7100 in Lightroom first became available in version 4.4.
Two options: Upgrade (preferably to Ligthroom 5.x) or download Adobe DNG Converter and use that to convert your images to DNG so that Lightroom 3.x can import them.
DNG Converter can be found here: http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=106&platform=Macintosh for OSX and here: https://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=5694 for Windows.

Raw (NEF) files from Nikon D7100 - Work on Elements 10
Has a update or patch been made for using raw (NEF) files from Nikon's D7100 camera?
Photoshop Elements 10 does support Adobe Camera Raw 6.4.1 to 6.7 and minimum requirement for Nikon D7100 is ACR 7.4.

You need to upgrade to PSE11 or can convert the NEF files to DNG and import into PSE10.

Aperture refuses to import from Nikon D300
After Yesterdays update Aperture refuse to import RAW files from my Nikon D300 as it did before. I get the message "0 images has been imported...".
I can import to iPhoto and them export to Aperture so the RAW files seems OK.
And I can still import JPEGS from my small Canon IS850 directly to Aperture
LarsanI am doubting this has to do with updating to Aperture 2.1.2, but rather might be related to Camera RAW 2.3 -- what version of Camera RAW have you installed?
In the a topic about auto-rotation here, there are confirmed problems with not only auto-rotation, but also recognizing as duplicates any images remaining on the card that have previously been imported. The auto-rotation problem, at least in the Previews, is common to both Aperture and iPhoto 08, so clearly points to CRAW 2.3.
We need to see if your experience might also be related to CRAW 2.3. I am having no problem importing from a card reader with cards used in my D200 and D300 cameras, however, other than those mentioned in that topic.

How can I open RAW files from Nikon D7100 in Photoshop Elements 9?
How can I open RAW files from my Nikon D7100 in Photoshop Elements 9
Three choices:
1. Upgrade to PSE11
2. download the free Adobe DNG Converter and then convert your RAWs to DNG, which will open in PSE9
3. Use manufacturer's software and convert to TIF (or JPG) -
Does iPhoto 11 support RAW files from Nikon D800?
Does iPhoto 11 support Raw files from a Nikon D800 or do I need to upgrade to Apeture? I am running 10.7.4. and currently use iPhoto '09
Aperature and iPhoto use the same RAW support - you probably need to upgrade to iPhoto '11 - purchase from the App store, backup your iPhoto library and upgrade - the RAW support list is here
