IPhoto 9 v. 8.1.2 How do I arrange my pictures in chronological order?

iPhoto 9 v. 8.1.2
OS X 10.8.5
Hi
In any iPhoto window, my pictures don't layout in chronological order. I would like them to. I need to look at my pictures and see them in the sequence in which I took them. In the Mac Finder, there are many choices given for how to arrange files and folders. The one I would like to have for iPhoto is "Date Added".
How do I arrange my pictures in chronological order?
Thanks

Terence,
OK. I see that now. Thanks.
I looked up DSCF. There doesn't seem to be a consensus on just what the acronym means.
Digital Still Camera Fujifilm. I'll take this since my camera's a Fuji.
Digital Storage Compact Flash (digital camera)
Choosing "sort by title" seems to work to layout the pictures chronologically (Attachment 1.). The title appears to be the DSCF followed by a number and the number sequence represents the sequence the pictures were taken in. This is also my recollection of what sequence the pictures were taken in.
What I don't understand is "sort by date" (Attachment 2.) "Sort by date" throws all that DSCF sorted by title out of sequence. I can't figure out what the pattern it is that's created here. Where is Iphoto picking up it's dating data, and why are the DSCF numbers out of alignment?
Attachment 1: Sort by title
Attachment 2: Sort By Date
Thanks for your input,
Rafael

What do you mean your own albums that are in alphabetically order?
    How did you do that?
I didn't try to make that happen, but no matter how I re-arranged albums using MartyLightroom's suggestion (below now), all of the iPhoto synchronized albums appear only in alphabetical order.

  • How do I arrange my photos in the order that I want on my Ipad?

How do I arrange my photos in the order that I want on my Ipad?

Sadly, it's not possible within the iPad itself. You have to arrange the photos in iPhoto albums -- which of course assumes you're syncing it to a Mac and not a PC -- then sync to see any changes.
And worst of all, images that are only in the iPad's own "Camera Roll" album can't be rearranged at all. If you'd like to see such functionality in future versions of iOS, you should leave feedback for them at:

HI friend open your desired album and see on the right side corner a button which says select press the button select and then press select the picture you want to move. A tick mark appears on the photo. Touch and hold the photo again for sometime and your finger can move the photo and can be dragged to your desired order. Did I clear your doubt. Fredy.

  • Pretty simple question ... how do I arrange songs in a particular order?

I've done this before, but somehow it's not working.
Have a playlist with a dozen or so songs I imported off a CD. The songs didn't show up in the playlist in the order they are on the CD. Simply want to arrange them in the same order.
Tried to drag them, but that doesn't work. How can I arrange the songs in a particular order?

You can change the track numbers.
Or if the songs are in a playlist, click the very first column header and turn off Shuffle for that playlist then you can drag the songs up/down as you want.

  • How to export photos with titles in chronological order. Checking box for title and keyword doesn't seem to work

I want to export a group of JPEG photos including titles in the order in which they were taken.  Checking the box to include titles and key words seems not to work.

    You can not
exporting creates files - files have no order - the order is set by the program you use to view them - for example in the finder you can view files by the date created, date modified, size, alpha, etc
So to control the order when viewing in the finder you must have an attribute that the finder can sort on set - the most common way to export photos in a specific order is to make an album in iphoto in the order you want and then export the album using the sequential naming option of the export command - then view them in the finder using a alpha sort - Exporting From iPhoto
However since you want to retain your existing title that will not work for you

  • How to keep podcasts and music in chronological order

I recently got a replacement iPod after sending back my original one when the screen stopped working (would only light up white and blank) and noticed some differences compared to what I was used to with my old one. On the old one, I would combine everything I wanted to listen to into one playlist in iTunes, music, recordings I made, and podcasts, with dates so they would play in order, oldest to newest, and that imported fine. On this new iPod, I've noticed that podcasts get grouped with each other on the iPod, while other music or audio files goes to "Music", which is fine, but I can't get them to play oldest to newest- they're only grouped newest to oldest, which makes some content awkward to listen to if something is multi-part. With each podcast group the newest is at the top of the list and the only way to listen in order is to listen to them one at a time rather than simply start at the oldest one in that group and let it play automatically. Audio under "Music" has the same thing happen.
Anyone know how to fix that- or if there even is a fix?
    Thanks!

No fix: that's just how the Podcasts work. You can play around with the database to change dates, etc. but I don't recommend it (and it still plays newest to oldest). Go back to making Playlists if that's what you want to do.

  • How do I arrange songs in a particular order without modifying the tag info

    Hi.
I'm trying to arrange songs in a playlist to play in a certain order without having to permanently modify the tag information like track number. Can this be done?
    Thanks!

This can be done by sorting on the leftmost column (with the numbers).
Then you can drag them at any position you want.
Shuffling for that playlist has to be off.
    Hope this helps.

  • How do I arrange tracks in a proper order after a purchase?

I recently purchased a recording of a complete opera on itunes, and the tracks show up on the purchased list in completely the wrong order. There are 43 tracks and it's virtually impossible to be absolutely certain what the correct order is for many of them, and in any case it is extremely laborious to resort them manually. Is there some way around this problem?

Which tab are you sorted on in the library window? If you're sorting on, say, track name, instead of something else, the tracks would display in alpha order.

  • How can I keep incoming messages in chronological order, rather than having them grouped together by sender's name?

After I open a message, when I next refer to my inbox I find that it has been grouped with other messages, either by sender's name or by subject line. As far as I am aware I did not ask for this and want messages to remain in my inbox in the chronological order in which they are received.

Click on the column header labeled DATE to sort by date. Click the same header a second time to reverse the sort order.

  • How do I make a playlist in chronological order?

I'm attempting to make a compilation CD of a favorite artist for a friend and I'd like to present the songs in chronological order. iTunes doesn't like my plan and wants to arrange songs alphabetically by title or by album. I'm not crazy about either, and I know one of you has the answer I'm looking for.

Set the sorting order to the leftmost column (with the numbers) in a playlist.
Now you can drag the songs in any order you want.
    Hope this helps.

  • I copied 7 cd audiobooks to I tunes, but they appear as track 1 of disc 1, track 1 of disk 2 etc. How can I arrange these tracks in correct order of each disc?

I don't have the audio CD's any longer, but the information is on I-tunes, but not just in the correct sequence. Is there any way to correct this? thank you!

You can change the Track # information for each track on those albums.  If iTunes cannot find an album in its online database of CDs, it will not have detailed information about the tracks.  This often happens with things like audiobooks on CD.
Select one of the tracks in a listing in iTunes.  Right-click on the track, and select Get Info.  On the Info window, go to the Info tab, and update the Track # information, so that it is correct.  You can update the Name of the track and other information you see there, if desired.  You can also go to the Options tab, and change the Media Type to Audiobook, if the item currently appears under Music in your iTunes library (and you want it to appear as a Book).
NOTE:  You can select multiple items at once in iTunes, and do a Get Info, if the change you are making for all the items is the same.

  • How can I arrange a sequence of folders on my iPad?

I have about 30 folders given an object title, eg Widgets 1ft-4ft, Dingbats 1ft-4ft, and so on correctly ordered in iPhoto.  I want the folders to appear in a sequential order by object name and sizes, but when I sync it throws some of the folders out of sequence.  Any help would be gratefully received, thank you

Try to arrange them manually afterwards: afaik, it is impossible to force an order when syncing:
