Iphoto add photo to existing album

all I want to do is add a photo from the library to an existing album. I used to be able to simply drag the selected photo to any album. How do i do this?

It's still supposed to work that way. Are you able to drag a photo anywhere in iPhoto? If not it may be a problem with the Helvetica font. Check out this Apple KB document: Helvetica required to drag photos in iPhoto.
What some users found to clear it up was to go in and deactivate the Helvetica font and then reactivate it. That seemed to trigger it or iPhoto.

Aperture will not add photos to existing Facebook Albums

I am currently using Aperture 3.4.5 ..
I have a host of over 50 existing albums on my facebook and I regularly add content to them without any issues what-so-ever, however, two days ago, I tried to add 4 photos to an existing alblum using the normal method of: highlight photos, Share/Facebook, pick the album name from drop down menu, publish. Normally at this stage, at the bottom of the Aperture window, it'd say something like publish or sync with Faceboon ... but not this time.
I then go to check in my Facebook tab under Web, click into the album and found that the photos which I wanted to add are showing a tick on them, suggesting that the photos are already uploaded onto facebook but the photo count does not match, for example, the album had 8 photos in and i tried to add 4 more, .. the photo count still shows 8 but inside the ablum, all 12 photos have ticks onto of them.

What is the source and details of the format of the photo that will not sync?

Verify that photos are in a compatible format. On a Mac, these file formats will sync from your iPhoto Library to your device: JPG, JPEG, TIFF, PICT, GIF, PNG, JPG2000 or JP2, PSD, SGI, and BMP.
On Windows, these file formats will sync to your device: JPG , JPEG, BMP, GIF, TIF, TIFF, PSD, SGI, and PNG.
Photos without extensions may not appear on your device.

How do you move new photos into existing albums?

On an iPad how do you move a new photo into an existing album?

Or, from the camera roll:
Tap Select (upper right hand corner)
Tap the pictures you want to add to an album (you'll see a check mark in each selected photo)
Tap Add To (upper left hand corner)
Your albums will appear and touch the album you want to move the picture to and they'll go there
Note: They will stay in your Camera Roll as well

Cannot drop photos into existing album?

When I try to add a photo (drag and drop) into an existing album it creates a new folder within the album called "untitled..". I cannot get any photos into the actual preexisting album?? I am using '09.

I figured it out.
I was trying to drop photos into a folder and a new album was created. I get it now. Drop them into the album. Duuhhhhh

Import photoes into existing album

After upgrade to 10.6, IPhoto no longer gives me to the option to import photos to an exisiting album. Any way around that other than merging events after the import?

You talk about both albums and events - which do you mean? They are not the same
You can not (and never have been able to ) import photos into an existing event - an imp[ort will always create one or more events - then yu can merge, split, etc the events
Albums are logical things that can be created during an import (along with an event) but usually are subjects so you add imported photos to them later

Add photo to existing film roll

Hi all,
My question relates to adding photos into an existing film roll. I have some motion jpeg movies taken with my still camera that were not imported to iPhoto when the original folder was imported. Don't remember why unless older versions of iphoto did not import .mov files. Anyhow since these movies relate to the other stills in the roll I would like to add them to the existing roll. Forum search and iphoto help didn't turn up any answer. I suppose I could delete the roll and reimport the entire folder, but was hoping for a simpler solution. Thanks for any help.

Hi Jim,
After the movies are imported:
Command click on each movie and roll you want combined to one roll
Go to File>create film roll
From the iPhoto Help menu:
Creating a customized film roll
To create a film roll:
Click Library in the Source list.
Select the photos you want in your new film roll. Command-click to select non-adjacent photos.
Choose File > Create Film Roll.
Your selected photos will be removed from their current film rolls and moved to the new film roll you create.
After you've created a new film roll, you can name it and change its date. Customizing film rolls is one way to better organize your photo library.

Add photo to existing catalog

I'm sure this has been asked a thousand times, and if you can just link me to the answer, I would appreciate it.
I am using LR3. How can I import additional photos to an existing gallery of images, or can't it be done?
I want to shoot a football game, import them at half time, then go back and import the rest of the game at the end and have them all in the same gallery.

I might be more helpful to explain what your problem is here -- that is what difficulties are you having in either overlaying the video with still images; creating a video of stills and "pinning" the extracted audio to the stills; segmenting the video, adding stills, and then pinning the extracted audio; or some other work flow?

Unable to Add Photo/Vid to Existing Album

Hello,
Racking my brain on this one and didn't find anything on a cursory search.
I am trying to add pics/vids to an existing album on my iPhone 5 w/iOS 7. When I select the photo or vid from either albums or roll, select "Add to Album" all of my existing albums are grayed out and only the option to add to "New Album" is available. How can I add a photo/vid to an existing album on my iPhone? The workound I have used is to sync the iPhone with iTunes and and manually add the pic/vid to the existing album and then re-sync - cumbersome to say the least.

I have discovered that the problem is that the albums I was trying to add the new photos/vids were created on my computer and one is unable to add photos to such albums. Creating a new album on my iPhone allowed me to add photos/vids to it on the fly.

Trying to add more photos to photo stream from albums in iPhoto on ipad .would like to view them on my Apple TV. I have 6 photos on the photo stream and lots more in albums but can't seem to be able to get them into the photo stream to view.

When using a shared photostream album can we have other subscribers add pictures to the album?

I would like to have my subscribers on shared albums have access to add photos to the album....can we or will we be able to do this?

I opened iPhoto thereby recreating the iPhoto library and somehow iPhoto fixed System Preferences and now Desktop Pictures works again.

Photos in an album labelling inconsistently!

I have recklessly upgraded to OS X Yosemite 10.10.3 and consequently downloaded the execrable Photos program to my Mac. My current major problem is when I add photos to an album, I cannot label them. Or at least, some of my labels are applied, where others just aren't retained. I have tried clicking to highlight the label, keyed in the name I require, pressed Enter to 'save' it and it remains in situ until navigating away. The next time I access my album, lo and behold! some remain as entered, whilst others have disappeared. There seems to be no rhyme nor reason as to why this is happening. Any clues as to how I can keep all my labels, please?

This indicates a disconnect between the Thumbnail and the original
this can be caused by two things
1 - User action deleting items from inside the iPhoto library - can be directly - can be from the All images list (never delete from there) - can be from running cleanup software like MacKeeer, CleanMac2 or other dangerous, defective software that improperly deletes or changes things in the iPhoto library - if you have done any of these things you must restore your backup from before you did them and damaged your iPhoto library - and I recommend getting rid of any "clean up software" ASAP (although being essentially MalWear it is not easy)
2 - corruption of the iPhoto library - If it is not #1 then Back up your iPhoto library, Depress and hold the option (alt) and command keys and launch iPhoto - rebuild your database
