IPhoto Album to Keynote/Powerpoint Presentation

Is there any automated way of sending an album of iPhoto pictures to a Keynote or Powerpoint presentation with each picture as their own slide?
Thanks

Hello Someone!
I know of two ways to kind of "batch" automate your process:
1. Your keynote presentation that should hold your slides is open. The keynote window must show the thumbnails of your slides on the left side (Presumably, there is only one there yet - the automatically created first slide - to be seen.) If they are not shown, go to the view menu and select "Navigator". Select all the pictures you want to have in your keynote file in iPhoto and drag them over into the thumbnail view on the left side (not onto the slide!). That should create one slide for each photo.
As for PowerPoint, I don't know whether the things said above work - they should, though. But with powerpoint you can use the application to build a slide show from files in a folder. Well, for this you just have to create a folder of your images from iPhoto, easy enough...
2. If you are on OS X Tiger you can run the "automator" application to do this. Open keynote and select a theme so a file to hold your slides is open. Open automator and create a workflow. Select iPhoto on the library pane in automator and drag the action "Ask for photos" to the right pane. Make sure "Allow multiple selection" is checked.
Select keynote in the library pane and drag the action "Create Image slide" under(!) "Ask for photos". They should be connected by "Files/Folders". Set the options according to your likings, then run the script. Automator will let you choose images from the iPhoto library. Just make sure you really select the images (so they have the blue selection rectangle around) in this sheet (lower section of the sheet), not only the iPhotoAlbum or so. Click the arrow to run the workflow. Save it for reuse...
There are powerpoint actions on apples website for download, they should provide you with the same possibilities for this application, but I did not try these.

  • Project my Keynote/PowerPoint presentation wirelessly

I would like to project my presentation to a large screen or large screen TV wirelessly using my mini iPad.  What sort of accessories and method I can accomplish this task?  Thanks!

The iPad and Apple TV can communicate because they are connect to the same Wi-Fi.
A router is needed for them to talk to each other.
Internet is only required if you need to access iTune Store, Youtube, NBA, Podcast, Radio, iCloud Photos, WSJ Live etc.

  • Export album to keynote?

    Dear Common Wisdom:
Can export an iPhoto Album to Keynote?
    Thanks!

    No.
The best you can do is access the Album using the Media Browser in Keynote. Then just drag the pics to your slide.

Can I insert a small powerpoint presentation on one of my keynote slides - I'd like to be able to keep the keynote presentation running, but click and bring up the powerpoint slides and when done - I need it to go back to my keynote slides.
When I try to insert - the .pptx files are greyed out.

Open the PowerPoint file in Keynote:     File >Open
copy and paste these slides into the other presentation at the place you want them to show

  • I'm new to keynotes and I have a lot of powerpoint presentations I'm trying to salvage.  I can't get the slides to change on a click plus I can't find the way to change the "transition" time changes within each slide.  Where can I find the answer

I'm new to keynotes and I'm trying to salvage several powerpoint presentations.  I can't control my slide presentations by clicking to change slides and/or for transitions within the slides.  I'm sure there's an answer but I can't find it.  Can someone please give me directions.

Show the Inspector;   view > show inspector
to run a presentation using manual control:
Inspector > Document: set Presentation to Normal
many transitions set in PowerPoint are not available in Keynote;  to set the transition options:
    Inspector > Slide > Transition
select the effect you want and either choose auto or manual control

    Morning AndreD86,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
These articles explain exactly what is backed up by using their method.
    iTunes: About iOS backups

    and

Also we want to double-click the Home button and swipe the Task Bar to the right.
Then make sure the button on the far left of Task Bar is not muted.
    Best of luck,

Firefox doesn't have any built-in ability to display PowerPoint files in a tab. You can check how Firefox is set to handle PowerPoint files in the Options dialog:
"3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Options > Applications
''This list may take a while to load.'' In the search box above the list, you can type pow and let Firefox filter it down. Usually these would say "Always Ask" but you might have customized them to "Use Microsoft Powerpoint".
There are some sites that have a Flash-based PowerPoint viewer, such as OneDrive/SkyDrive and SlideShare. Maybe Gmail has one now, too, I haven't checked. But all such sites also should have a separate download button, either before showing their viewer or as part of the viewer. If there are particular sites where you notice this problem, maybe someone know how to bypass the viewer on that site and go straight to a download.

  • When I open a powerpoint presentation in Keynote I only see the first 8 slides

When I open a powerpoint presentation in Keynote I only see the first 8 slides.  Any ideas?

    Curious.
If I had this problem I would try the followinng:
open the PPt file in PowerPoint (or Open Office for Mac, which is a free and  reliable option to MS Office) save it  as a PPt file and open in Keynote
open in PPt or Open Office,  save all the slides as individual TIFF files and bring those into Keynote ( builds would not work on individual text or objects on a slide but at least you have the content)
    Open Office

  • Changing template background from a powerpoint presentation in Keynote?

Is simple to change the background template from a powerpoint presentation in Keynote?
In powerpoint it is very simple but I need to know if it is also in keynote and how, of course without erase the data from the presentation.  I have many powerpoint, excel and word files from MsOffice 07' and I need to know if I can change to iWorks without problems and if it will take me to much time to do it.

It could not be simpler;   click on Themes in the tool bar and select a theme:

  • Do all animations and features of Keynote save as PowerPoint Presentations and are all of the animations and features then useable on a PC in the .ppt format, will it work properly?

Do all animations and features of Keynote save as PowerPoint Presentations and are all of the animations and features then useable on a PC in the .ppt format, will it work properly?
I want to buy a Macbook Pro, but i need to know the scale of compatability between my Microsoft products and my soon to be apple products, proffessional presentations are vital for what i want, therefore compatability if key if i am to purchase a Mac. Thank you.

Not all of the animations and features in Keynote will transition into Powerpoint.  Most of the basic ones do - but not the advanced.  I had this issue when I first switched over to Mac, so to overcome this, I do two things:
I figured out which animations and transitions work in both Keynote and Powerpoint and used them.  It's kind of a pain when I can't use the awesome Keynote animations, however, Keynote is still much easier and intuitive to work in than Powerpoint.
I sometimes export my Keynote presentations to a Quicktime movie (.mov).  Apple makes it very simple to export to this format; which can then be accessed on both a Mac and PC and all of the transitions and effects remain as they are in Keynote.
    I hope that helps.

  • How do I convert a powerpoint presentation to Keynote?

I am new to Mac and have a lot of Powerpoint presentations. I would like to try to convert some to Keynote. Can anyone give me hints on how to do this without spending a huge amount of time. Thanks in advance.

    Welcome to the discussions, Vickt*.
Keynote can open most older PowerPoint files with a few issues that remain (like fonts and some features that only PowerPoint has). The best thing to do is just open a few to see what your problems are going to be. After going through those few, you'll have a better idea of what issues you're going to see down the line.
There's no Batch way to do this, though, you have to open each one in Keynote then Save it to create a .key file.

I recently purchased a MacBook Air and was told by Apple that Keynote and Pages were compatible with MS Applications.. I have since tried to open a Powerpoint Presentation but it comes up with an error message and is not right. Help!

If there are fonts, transitions, builds, video or audio in the PowerPoint file that are not compatible with Keynote, it will either prevent the presentation opening or Keynote will substitute the settings causing playback changes.
I use Open Office to play and open any PowerPoint files sent to me, they play exactly as in PowerPoint.
Open Office is free, you can download it here:

  • How do I play Powerpoint presentations with audio with Keynote?

Can someone please point me in the right direction? Like a lot of people, I have several powerpoint presentations that I obtained while I was a Windows user. While Keynote can open them and play some of the transitions, many of the effects will not play, including the audio.
Is there a way I can reformat the presentation so I can view/play it properly in Keynote? I am wanting to resolve this issue so I can remove MS office for Mac from my machine.
I would be most grateful for any help that anyone could provide with this enquiry.

Keynote isn't at all good at dealing with audio, so whether it's worth trying largely depends on the content of your powerpoints and how many you need to transfer.
If it were me, I think I'd look at using OpenOffice - it may make a better job of things for you.
