IPhoto and Buying a Photo Book

When I try to buy a photo book that I have created my Apple Id information (billing address and shipping address) are wrong. The country defaults to Finland and I live in Greece (Greece is not even a country in the Pick list ?!?!?!?!?!?!) Via Apple's website I have made sure that my Apple Id's address info is correct, but how can I use iPhoto to buy the book I have created and have it shipped to me?

You can't. Apple's Photo Services are not currently available in Greece, I'm afraid.
Apple sells and ships products only within Austria, Belgium, Denmark (excluding the Faroe Islands), Finland (excluding the Aland Islands), France (excluding French Guyana, Reunion, Martinique and Guadaloupe), Germany, Ireland, Italy (excluding Livigno, San Marino and Vatican City), the Netherlands, Norway, Spain (excluding the Canary Islands, Ceuta and Melilla), Sweden, Switzerland and the United Kingdom (excluding the Channel Islands, the Isle of Man, Gibraltar and any other Crown dependencies or overseas territories of the United Kingdom)

    As  to iPhoto
Connect the two Macs together (network, firewire target mode, etc)  or use an external hard drive formatted Mac OS extended (journaled) and drag the iPhoto library intact as a single entity from the old Mac to the pictures folder of the new Mac - launch iPhoto on the new mac and it will open the library and convert it as needed and you will be ready move forward.
For iMovie support please post in the iMovie forum

  • HT1051 I bought my macbook in Canada and ordered a photo book. I am now in France and would like to order one for here. does it still have to be sent from Canada?

I bought my mac book in canada and ordered a photo book from iphoto. I am now in France and want to reorder, do I have to have the books sent from Canada. It seems so unecessary.

You can set the print products country in the iPhoto preferences - you may be able to order the book - teh rules seem to change on payment method and shipping locations - available information that I have found is here - http://store.apple.com/us/help/print_products/routing

This is not the iPhoto forum. In any case in iPhoto>Preferences select Mail or whatever email program you are using to email as the desired choice. You are probably sending directly through iPhoto.

  • IPhoto 7.1.5 on 10.6.8 Trying to Buy a Photo book

    Hi,
I have been reading other discussion threads and I can't find exactly my question. I have iPhoto '08 version 7.1.5 on Mac OS X version 10.6.8. Everything was fine until I got the iPhone 5 and needed to update iTunes. I found I needed to update to at least Snow Leopard, so I did that and figured everything was fine now. That was until I made a photo book and tried to purchase it. Unfortunately, I got the following error message: We apologize for the inconvenience, but the ability to order books, cards, calendars and prints is no longer supported in iPhoto 7. Please upgrade to a newer version of iPhoto to order these products.
So, I have read a few posts that say I need to buy iLife, but I would never use any of the apps except iPhoto, so I would like to save myself the money of buying things I won't need. I also did a search and it looks like I can download a bunch of updates here: http://support.apple.com/downloads#iphoto
My question is, can I go update by update on this site without ruining my current iphoto events and projects? I have about 15,00 items in 243 events and I would hate for them all to get ruined.
Thank you so much for any help! I am desperate and would love my photo book.

It isn't possible to get a version of iPhoto which is new enough just through the downloadable updaters. You need to either buy an iLife DVD or upgrade the computer to Mavericks and get the Mac App Store version.

  • Buy a photo book made with iPhoto 08?

I've made a photo book on an iMac running 10.8.5 with iPhoto 08 (7.1.5). When I pressed "buy", it said it was not possible with this version. I can't upgrade the machine or software (it's not my machine). Is there a work-around? Is there a way of exporting the finished project so that I can import it and buy it on a more up-to-date machine? Thanks.

You can purchase your book from other sources - google is your friend - one source  to look at is PrestoPrint
You can upgrade to iPhoto '11 by purchasing an iLife '11 DVD from Amazon or eBay and installing iPhoto '11 and upgrading to the latest version or system supports
You can make a copy of your entire iPhoto library (there is no way to export a book except as a DF which can not be used to order from Apple and can not be edited) and open it on a Mac with iphoto '-9 or '11 and order -
Before ordering your book preview it using this method - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1040 - and save the resulting PDF for reference - the delivered book will match it. - check the preview carefully as i is possible that some things change when you change versions

  • Can't Buy my Photo Book

ready to throw macbook into my pool!!

    tpotts:
Welcome to the Apple Discussions. Not in the pool. Send it to me, postage collect .:( There were some server issues a few days ago requiring users to log into their .Mac account (click the .Mac tab at the top of this page and then click on My Account in the next window) and reenter their account information and save. Several users reported it took several attempts before it took.
It's not the computer, it's the server. But if you're still wanting to get rid of it.....

TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've written an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

  • I am unable to checkout of iPhoto with my completed photo book, how come?

I have completed an iPhoto photo book, but when i go to buy it, it takes me to the checkout page. When I click check out however, nothing happens, and it will not let me proceed! All the pictures and text is there, nothing is missing from the pages, help!

There seems to be problem with Apple's Print services. We have reports from all over the world of people being unable to order books, cards, calendars.  Try again later.
See for example:   Re: Trying to buy  book I created. When I hit "checkout" nothing happens. It's not like Apple to not want to make more money. Any ideas?

  • Using iphoto and editing multiple photos in photoshop

I set iphoto to edit my photos in photoshop. I tried to edit a group of photos at once, and it'll only open the first 4 pictures. Is there a reason I can't open more than the first 4 photos that I have selected? Is there a setting in photoshop I need to change that is preventing me from opening more photos?
    Thanks!

As Larry said that's a "limitation" of iPhoto. Report that to Apple via http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphoto.html. I think you can go back to iPhoto and select another 4 photos and open them in PS with the original 4 still open.
    For what it's worth:
Using Photoshop (or Photoshop Elements) as Your Editor of Choice in iPhoto.
1 - select Photoshop as your editor of choice in iPhoto's General Preference Section's under the "Edit photo:" menu.
2 - double click on the thumbnail in iPhoto to open it in Photoshop. When you're finished editing click on the Save button. If you immediately get the JPEG Options window make your selection (Baseline standard seems to be the most compatible jpeg format) and click on the OK button. Your done.
3 - however, if you get the navigation window that indicates that PS wants to save it as a PS formatted file. You'll need to either select JPEG from the menu and save (top image) or click on the desktop in the Navigation window (bottom image) and save it to the desktop for importing as a new photo.
This method will let iPhoto know that the photo has been editied and will update the thumbnail file to reflect the edit..
NOTE: With Photoshop Elements 6 the Saving File preferences should be configured: "On First Save: Save Over Current File". Also I suggest the Maximize PSD File Compatabilty be set to Always.
If you want to use both iPhoto's editing mode and PS without having to go back and forth to the Preference pane, once you've selected PS as your editor of choice, reset the Preferences back to "Open in main window". That will let you either edit in iPhoto (double click on the thumbnail) or in PS (Control-click on the thumbnail and seledt "Edit in external editor" in the Contextual menu). This way you get the best of both worlds
This method will let iPhoto know that the photo has been editied and will update the thumbnail file to reflect the edit..
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier) database file and keep it current. It's compatible with iPhoto 6 and 7 libraries and Tiger and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.≤br>

  • I want to buy my photo book, but it says I have a corrupt jpeg. How do I find this jpeg photo to delete?

How do I find a photo Jpeg #? The photo book I want to buy will not allow me to buy it because there is a corrrupt photo with a jpeg # of 000_0068.JPG. How do I find this photo, I can't see jpeg #'s anywhere.

Look for a page with this formatting:
That page would require two photos to be added to it: one for the background and one above it.  That layout shouldn't be offered on a 1 photo - full page.

  • Import Photos from IPhoto into 3rd party Photo Book Maker?

Using BookSmart from Blurb, to make a photo book, this a GREAT piece of software BTW, I need to import photos from IPhoto and can't seem to see how do it? Not sure I even can. Any help??

Assuming the program has an Import option that brings up an Open/Save/Attach file browser window, look in the left hand sidebar for Photos, under the Media heading at the bottom. It will show you your iPhoto library. Probably easiest if you first create an album in iPhoto for the photos you think you are likely to use.
Alternatively, browse the Blurb site for an FAQ and find:
    http://blurb.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/blurb.cfg/php/enduser/stdadp.php?p_faqid=74&p_sid=44cbAnHj&purl=
How do I use iPhoto pictures with BookSmart?
To view JPGs and PNGs that are stored in iPhoto, click the My iPhoto Images bar in the left content column of BookSmart. Choose which album you’d like to view via the dropdown menu, and then drag and drop the images into your book. BookSmart will only make copies of images you actually drag (or autoflow) to pages of your book.

  • HT201170 Force quit iPhoto while making a photo book

I had to force quit iPhoto while I was making a photo book. The photo book is still there but the photos I recently added (after laboriously scanning them in) are no longer viewable in the side bar with all the project photos. They are also gone from my iPhoto library. When I view each photo page individually the 'missing photos' are still on the pages yet when I view 'all pages' they are not there. Worried if I go to purchase, they won;t be on the pages at all.
    Help?

Try Old Toad's solution here:   See   Re: iphoto : upload impossible to print a book
Try to boot into Safe Mode and order this way, or sign into a different user account and try to order as a different user.

  • Re error 8 message/corrupt photo when trying to buy a photo book

I am trying to upload a photo book, which I have done many times before, and this message comes up: "com.apple.chameleon.component
General.error 8." The book  stops uploading at page 4 and sites a corrupt photo. How do I find out which photo is causing the problem? The same thing happens when I try to preview the book. Help!

Remove the photos on page 3 and preview - if it works re place the photos on p 3 oneone and  preview until you find the problem photo - if the problem is not on p 3 then  do the same on p4 and p5 is necessary
