Iphoto and Kodak gallery

I'm trying to upload my photos through Kodak gallery's new beta version. When I find my iphoto folder it is now available to be highlighted? i.e I can't chose photos from within.
Thank you

  • Iphoto and Kodak Gallery Plug in or Ofoto Express

I have read multiple iphoto threads about using other upload programs and I use Kodak Gallery.
Does anyone know what the difference is between using either the Kodak Gallery Iphoto Plug in or using the Ofoto Express software from Kodak?
Is one preferred over the other?

I figured out to just use the plug in to upload directly to kodak without having to export out of iphoto then upload with ofoto express.

  • CS4 and Kodak Gallery

In Bridge in CS2 it was possible to share photos with people in your mailing list by uploading the photos to the Kodak Gallery and all the designated people would get an email directing them to the album on Kodak's Easy Share site.
I don't know if that feature was carried into Bridge CS3, but it doesn't seem to be available in Bridge CS4.
Any feedback on this would be appreciated.
    Thank you.

  • IPhoto and Kodak EasyShare software

I find myself using Kodak's EasyShare software a lot more than iPhoto-- especially since I can click on the slide show and see both photos and videos in the same slide show--
BUT with both programs, my photo/video folders are getting huge-- over 25 gb. How can I put "8000 of my photos" (out of 9000) into another folder on an external hard drive and keep the last 1000, but then at a later time access all the photos (combine them again on 1 hard drive) without having the software show a "?" on the photo and thus having to relocate each photo individually... i.e.--> how to backup the folder, but then add new photos to the smaller "new" main folder, then recombine these without having lost any pictures or information...
This must be a concern of others-- any comments on both iPhoto and if possible Kodak EasyShare as well-- THANKS!

    Stephen:
You can do that with iPhoto 6 but not V5. iPhoto 6 has an option to import just alias files into the library and leave the full sized files where ever you want. Then you can change the preferences back to normal and import the full sized image files of those you want on the boot drive into the library. OR, keep them all on an external HD. Here are some Tutorials describing how to convert to an alias based system.

  • IPhot and Kodak Gallery

    New iMAC owner here.
Can anyone explain to me how I can upload photos from my iPhoto files to KodakGallery.com, to share with other people?
I have been able to upload a single photo at a time but only thru many clicks. With my PC, I was able to upload hundreds of photos at a single time.
    Thanks!

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. Have you looked at the Kodak EasyShare software for uploading to their site?
    http://www.kodak.com/eknec/PageQuerier.jhtml?pq-path=130&pq-locale=en_US
Unless there's an iPhoto plugin available for Kodak you'll have to use their software and possibly export your photos to the desktop so their software can upload them as a group. I've not used their software so don't know if it can interface with iPhoto directly or not.
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier) database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger or later), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 6 and 7 libraries and Tiger and Leopard. Just put the application in the Dock and click on it whenever you want to backup the dB file. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.
Note: There's now an Automator backup application for iPhoto 5 that will work with Tiger or Leopard.

  • IPhoto and MobileMe gallery

Since switching from MobileMe to iCloud I am unable to add a new album to my MobileMe gallery. If I do add a new album it is removed almost immediately.
I am also unable to 'share' it from MobileMe gallery before it is removed automatically almost immediately it is put on.
Could anybody explain why and how to fix this problem.

I would like to add to this thread.  Same problems with updating to the iPhoto 11 and the "cloud".  The photo's taken on my iPhone are displaying in my "Photo Stream", I add the photo's I want from the Photo stream to my iPhoto library stored locally, and then publish the album to mobile me.
Problem is, as soon as the seldected photo's are published to mobile me I go to the "web" pane on iPhoto in order to send an email to my friends that a new album is posted.  As soon as I select "web" on the right hand selection pane in iPhoto 11, I receive the following:
iPhoto displays "The published album has been removed from Mobile me".
The album is saved from photo stream to my iPhoto album, but the selected photo's will not publish to mobile me.  This is a problem with apples new Lion OS and iPhoto 11.  One more example of how Apple has rolled out new products that are not ready.  I moved from PC to Mac 10 years ago because of this same problem with PC software, now Apple has lost its way and is putting new software on the market that just doesn't work and I suspect the OS will become irrelevant agian if the company doesn't focus on what drew customers to their platform.  So disappointed with Apple again...its becoming very common.

  • Scheduling of Iphoto and Web Gallery Uploads

    Hi,
Does anyone know if there is an app or built in functionality in iPhoto that allows one to schedule when photos can be uploaded to the MobileMe web gallery? I don't want to do this whilst I'm working on my PC and will rather tell it what to upload and then schedule the upload for later the evening when I don't use my Mac ...
    Any ideas .. ?
    Thank you,
    E

There is not - you can suggest to Apple - iPhoto menu ==> provide iPhoto feedback
For now just do your gallery changes last thing before you quit for the evening

  • Kodak Gallery (ofoto) and iPhoto 6

I am using iPhoto 6 on a relatively new imac with 3gigs RAM. My wife wants only to be able to use her photos in the way she used to on the PC, and we can't get the photo upload to work at Kodak Gallery, which is where she has years of photos already stored. Safari won't allot multiple selection while uploading via the browser, so I downloaded the Ofoto Express tool for the mac, but can't keep it from crashing. When I select 'Most recent Photos' it works as expected, but when I try to select my entire library it eventually crashes, or if I just chose 'last 12 months' it will also dump.
Can this problem be addressed or fixed? Have others had this problem?
I also read on the Kodak site that I should be able to send the photo directly from within iPhoto, but can't find where or how to do that.
Any help/comments would be greatly appreciated.
    Mike

I understand, and that is where I started. i simply received a polite email that was borderline a form response with no usable information. One of those emails that is very frustrating, because the person clearly didn't even comprehend your situation and respond with something basically unrelated.
Then I turned here, since I have had good luck on the mac forums. I was really hoping to identify if others with big iPhoto libraries were having the same issues since this is a popular site (kodak).
Also, my problem is very consistent, which would indicate there is something that could be identified and altered to correct the problem.
    Thanks for your response though.

  • Kodak Gallery Plugin and Iphoto 09

I did not find anything when searching... so my apologies if a similar thread exists elsewhere.
I have not been able to upload photos since upgrading from Iphoto 08 to 09. I used to use the Ofoto Express program to upload, but it ceased working after the upgrade.
I noticed today that an Iphoto plugin also exists, called the Kodak Gallery Plugin. I tried using that today, and in both cases, it is not uploading.
I am concerned that it may be a problem on my machine, as I also tried the Firefox Kodak extension, and it wouldn't accept the pictures I was dragging out of Iphoto 09 into it.
I have 10.5.7, Iphoto 09, Intel Mac Mini that is maxed out on RAM. I'm able to otherwise connect normally to the interweb via ethernet in Safari/FF/Itunes Store/etc.....
Any thoughts on how to fix?

TD, what you said is actually the crux of the problem- I attempted to troubleshoot with Kodak's online help earlier today, but their online chat knew nothing outside of "install. Doesn't work? Uninstall. Repeat". Their final bit of helpful advice was, and I quote, "You need to contact the Iphoto to fix it".
They had no idea when I mentioned that it seemed related to my upgrade from Iphoto 08 to 09......

  • Kodak Gallery iPhoto plug-in and iPhoto 6

Hi - Recently I downloaded an iPhoto plug-in from kodakgallery.com to more easily upload my photos to the Kodak Gallery website (now that Ofoto Express no longer works). When in iPhoto I select the photos I want to export, select file, select export, and select the kodak gallery tab. The next step is to link this with my kodak gallery account through the "set up" button. When I click the set up button I get the following pop-up window: "No Kodak Gallery Service. Kodak Gallery Service is not available for your location." I live in Rhode Island - is that the location they're referring to? Or is it the location in iPhoto? I have emailed & live chatted Kodak Customer service about this on several occasions, but they haven't had an explanation, and finally (today) said it's a problem with iPhoto. Any advice? Thank you!

Finally, after several months and about thirty emails, online chats and providing feedback, Kodak Gallery said they would tell the iPhoto plug-in developer about my issue (error message: Kodak Gallery Services not available for this location). I was delighted today to find that the plug-in finally works (as the last person also noted)! Thanks all for your comments - it was good to know others were having the same problem.

  • Using iPhoto '11 with Kodak Gallery

I can't seem to get iPhoto '11 to export to Kodak Gallery. When I click "Export," nothing at all happens. Does anyone have any ideas?

I've emailed, called, chatted, etc. to Kodak and I get a mess of answers - none of them sound promising. If you can even get a rep who understands that iPhoto has a new version, all they tell you to do is uplaod using one of their other methods. I tried explaining that this solution doesn't work for people who have iPhoto set to leave the raw photo file alone and store the edits in a separate file. They had NO idea what this means. One of their reps actually told me I don't know how to use my computer and I should just learn how to use their uploader on the website then hung up on me. Kodak's support for i-anything has been lame. The last iPhoto plugin was from 2007 and their iphone app is about as old. Both were in dire need of upgrades/updates as it was. So, going forward, I'm using Flickr since they had their upload capability ready the day iPhoto 11 launched.
If anyone gets any updates on this plug in, please post.

  • Kodak Gallery to iPhoto

How do I download a slideshow in Kodak Gallery to photos in iphoto?
    Thanks,

Where is Kodak gallery? Online? You'll need to download the pics to your Mac, then import them to iPhoto and recreate the Slideshow there.

  • Kodak Gallery / Iphoto

Ok all. VERY new to the MAC world. 2 days old to be exact. I use Kodak Gallery to share my photos with my family. I downloaded it to my computer, twice apparently, because when I go to export my photos to Kodak Gallery, it is in there twice. Does anyone know how I remove the extra one?

    Welcome to Mac Land
    Is this a plug-in?
Select iPhoto in the Applications folder and go File -> Get Info.
In the Get Info window you can use the Plug-in pane to remove any 3rd party export plugins. So look for two Kodak gallery ones and remove one.

  • Kodak Gallery (Ofoto Express) Issues with iPhoto 8

Since uploading iPhoto 8 I haven't been able to get the application that I use for Kodak Gallery (Ofoto Express) to work at all. Anyone else having these issues? If so, do you know a solution or work around??

Ofoto Express is an old app (2004), and it looks like Kodak is not going to update it (not even to put Kodak's name on the app).
Ofoto Express looks for Albums, so it won't find the new iPhoto "events". Good news is that the last event you load is placed in iPhoto's "Recent" folder, which is a folder that Ofoto Express recognizes. So, in iPhoto, select the event that you want to upload to Kodak before loading Ofoto Express.
