IPhoto and Music Preferences

Hello,
I'm running the current iPhoto. I'm trying to set the music played during the slide show. I have saved my preferences selections. When I go into the slide show using the remote, the computer plays the default guitar music. When I go into the slide show through the "computer side" of the software, it plays the music I want. How do I get it to play the music I want when I go through the remote.

GO TO ITUNES AND CREATE A PLAYLIST FROM THE MUSIC YOU WANT PLAYED DURING SLIDESHOW. BE SURE ALL TUNES ON YOUR PLAYLIST HAVE CHECK MARK BEFORE THEM MAKE YOUR PLAYLIST THE TIME LENGTH OF YOUR SLIDE SHOE, ELSE IT WILL REPEAT..THEN GO TO IPHOTOS AND CREATE SLIDE SHOW.. CLICKON MUSIC--IT WILL BRING UP ALIST OF YOUR PLAY LISTS..SELECT THE ONE YOU WANT AND ENJOY..

Iphoto and music

I have been using Iphoto and is great!!!
But i whant to advance.... Wich program I should use to create slideshows like iphoto but have more control of the music? Like viewing 2 tracks, one for the music and other for the slideshow and work with the tracs.
In i photo you cant coordinate the musica and the photo, like if you what a specific photo for a instant of the music you cant do that with iphoto...

Photos imported from iPhoto to iMovie HD come into the movie cropped, ie part of the composition of the picture is destroyed.
I would need to move them to iPhoto except that I can't alter the length of songs in iPhoto,
Also, it would be nice to be able to select a series of clips on the timeline in iMovie and add transitions to the batch. adding transitions one at a time becomes tedious when working with photos in iMovie.

You should have 16 GIG on yourr iPad, not 16 meg
When you hook them up to iTunes select to 'manually manage music and videos' and that will allow you to choose what bits and pieces you can put on your device.

HT201250 After setting up my time capsule, I noticed that my iphoto library and music was not backed up. The documents and .jpg's was back up, do I need to do something else in the set up?

After setting up the time capsule, and completing a full back up, I noticed my iphotos and music was not backup. I have all my documents and .jpg files but no music from Itunes or photos from iphoto? Do I need to set something else up?

Can I ask you how you know your photos and music are not backed up?
Open a Finder window to your Pictures folder (you should see your current iPhoto Library file). Go to the Time Machine icon in the menubar, then click Enter Time Machine to use the TM interface, and go back in time to a random point. Is the iPhoto Library file still there? If so, it's being backed up.
If not, is there any chance you've excluded those folders from TM preferences? Click Options on the TM system preference panel and see if you have exclusions.

IPhoto causing 20-30 second hangs - spinning beach ball and music stops

Very often when I browse through my pictures, suddenly iPhoto will freeze, the beach ball appears and if I attempt to use other programs the entire system freezes. If I'm playing music in iTunes, it will pause and then restart after 20-30 secs when iPhoto and the rest of the system suddenly works again as if nothing happened.
Anyone else notices this? It happens as I said quite often, and I can provoke it by flipping through pictures very fast (for instance by holding down the left or right arrow on the keyboard).
I noticed that this message often appears in the console when I initiate iPhoto:
06/10/09 14.17.11 iPhoto[1023] ILLogger ILMediaBrowserPathWatcher: ** Error in ILMediaBrowserPathWatcher startFSEventStream failed to start for paths: (

I don't know if that's relevant, but there it is none the less.

Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

IPhoto 7.1.1 and Music

I can't select any music for my slideshows. I don't get any kind of selection window after I press the music button. The system pauses for a second and then nothing. The slide shows just play some stupid country song (I have over 6500 tracks and it had to pick this one). I have deleted/rebuilt the iTunes .XML file with the same result. Any suggestions would be helpful. This is the first time I'm trying this so I can't tell you if old slideshows still work. Thanks in advance.

1. Check Software update for later versions of iPhoto and iLife updates.
2. Ensure that you have the latest version of the OS (10.4.10) and Quicktime (7.2) and the app.
1. Repair Permissions using Disk Utility
2. Delete the com.apple.iPhoto.plist file from the home / library / preferences folder. You'll need to reset your User options afterwards.
3. Create a new account (systempreferences -> accounts) and see if the problem is repeated there. If it is, then a re-install of the app might be indicated. If it's not, then it's likely the app is okay and the problem is something in the main account.

Yes. Unfortunately, I don't know the specifics because I don't use iPhoto anymore and I completely copied over 15 years of MP3 files recently when I installed 10.7. Needless to say, I have not opened iTunes since and probably never will again - not because of iTunes but because of my stupidity. I did have some of the files backed up but I hadn't backed up in a while.......anyway....
When I imported my CD's, I had them go directly to my external firewire. I can't remember exactly how to set it, but in the preference section of iTunes you can specify an import destination to any drive that's available to your machine. I did this with iPhoto as well way back at one point when I was using Tiger, but I don't remember the specifics on that either. I can't imagine they would have discontinued support for that feature since then.

You should be able to accept this message, it will cause existing music, photos (not camera roll) and videos (also excluding those in camera roll) to be removed and replaced with those from this computer. All other user data on the iPad will be unaffected.

If the icons have a black arrow bottom left corner, then the icons are just aliases, not the Application itself. You can move those icons to the Trash.

You need burn software which will author/encode the movie so it can be viewed using any DVD player - there is iDVD (still available as part of the retail 09 or 11 iLife disks at online resellers including ebay and Amazon) or Roxio Toast ($$) or Burn (free, but very basic).

Exporting video from iPhoto including music added and theme

Hi,
is there a way to export a video from iPhoto including music and theme?
I'm able to export the video itself, with its native sound, but the theme and music added in iPhoto is not included. When trying to share on Flickr - running in to the same problem.
Don't think it makes a difference, but the video was taking by GoPro Black and the audio added was purchased in iToons store.

iPhoto has no ability to add anything to video. Do you mean a slideshow? If so, how are you exporting?

You may run into copyright issues if you upload that to a site like flickr or youtube.
