IPhoto app dissapeared from computer...

Question

hello.
The iPhoto app no longer exists on this computer.
Not sure what happened.
I used it just last week.
Spotlight finds nothing other than messages and webpages that have the word "iPhoto" in them.
No applications or folders.
The pictures folder on this computer has all of my pictures, but they aren't in an iPhoto folder.
They are just in the main Pictures folder. No sub folder.
I'm really confused.
It's not in the trash either.
I tried copying my iPhoto app from my lap top and transfer it onto this computer, but it won't launch.
I get a prompt that says that iPhoto quit unexpectedly.
Any ideas?

Are you sure ypu've been using iPhoto? Because if you had:
The pictures folder on this computer has all of my pictures, but they aren't in an iPhoto folder.
Iphoto will never put pics into the Pictures Folder only into a Library folder. They could only be set up like this by some other means.
To re-install iPhoto
1. Put the iPhoto.app in the trash (Drag it from your Applications Folder to the trash)
2a: On 10.5:  Go to HD/Library/Receipts and remove any pkg file there with iPhoto in the name.
2b: On 10.6: Those receipts may be found as follows:  In the Finder use the Go menu and select Go To Folder. In the resulting window type
/var/db/receipts/
A Finder Window will open at that location and you can remove the iPhoto pkg files.
3. Re-install.
If you purchased an iLife Disk, then iPhoto is on it.
If iPhoto was installed on your Mac when you go it then it’s on the System Restore disks that came with your Mac. Insert the first one and opt to ‘Install Bundled Applications Only.
If you purchased it on the App Store you can find it in your Purchases List.
