Iphoto book- connection lost

I made a photo book on iphoto and when i go to "buy book" it keeps saying the connection is lost. My internet is fine though. Does anyone know how i can fix this?

I'm extremely frustrated. I made a card on iPhoto last week, sent it in, and worked out fine. Today, I created a photo book, but trying to order it, it just shows "connecting" and won't change. It'll just hangs. My internet connect is fine so I dont understand whats wrong.

Your responses are wrong for the most part and extremely condescending.
1 - Re-entering your information often helps, but it does not get past the "Assembling" part where iPhoto then freezes. I have ordered two photo books and am in the process of trying to order a third, but it does not work. A gentleman from Australia suggested that the Map feature causes the iPhoto Freeze. I don't want to sacrifice the maps yet at this point, but will do if I can't get them to work. I have tried being connected via ethernet, wireless, and uploading at various times of day. Furthermore, I have deleted the Keychain access Nelnet or whatever the Apple Rep told me to do. But alas, no uploads have worked. But primarily, LarryHN if you're here to help, don't be a jerk in responding to people's post. (I have seen you in multiple discussions and you're always sour and never offer anything new and insinuate that people are below your intelligence for not using your directions and making the book load immediately. Well I tried your suggestions and they don't work.)

How to fix lost connections to original high-resolution pictures in iPhoto and how to import an iPhoto Book from one iPhoto library to another

I am using a MBP Pro with 8 GB cache and 1 TB HDD from beginning of 2011 with OS X Yosemite and iPhoto version 9.6 (910.29).
I created an iPhoto Book to print which contains my best pictures of 2013 and 2014. Then I got an error message when I wanted to print the book, saying (translated from German):
Book could not be created.
With photo p233432343.jpg there was an error. The original version of that photo with full resolution could not be found or is damaged. Please replace the photo or delete it from your book.
When I enquired further, I found out, that many, many pictures in my iPhoto library have that problem - only the thumbnail picture is found by iPhoto, but not the one with the high resolution. When looking at the photos in detail one sees that they are not sharp because obviously the photo book only refers to the thumbnail. When I went into the iPhoto Library using Finder, I saw that the original high res photos are still there. As there are an estimated 3000 photos with a lost connection (some still have, it but about 1/2 of my photos don´t), it does not make sense to import those photos manually. This photo book is just the tip of the iceberg, so to say.
Then I looked for solutions in some forums. I had two lPhoto libraries, one on my HDD (120GB) and one on an external HDD (175GB). Assuming there might be problems, I have deleted (moved) the one on my HDD, because the "right one" is the one on my external HDD and started iPHoto again using the alt key. But that did not work either.
I then tried to repair my iPhoto library using iPhoto Library Manager, and merged and rebuilt libraries. The library that came out was crap - all folders that had lost connections to the high resolution pictures now have zero photos in it. Also it is lacking the projects, including the photo book I created.
Then I went to find out if there is a way to import the iphoto book project from the old, corrupt library into the new, repaired library but could not find anything. It can only be exported as a file structure or website. As the file structure is missing the high res pictures, that does not even solve the "little" problem of the photobook.
I would REALLY appreciate your help on the two questions:
1- Can you advise what I need to to do to to get the connection to the high resolution photos established again ? As it is more than 3000 photos, I use an automated way of reestablishing that connection. Probably an answer to this question would make question 2 irrelevant.
2- Do you know if there is a way to export and import a book project created in iPhoto from one library to another ?

1 - Select the thumbnail of one of the problem photos and use the File ➙ Reveal in Finder ➙ Original menu option. This will take you to the folder containing the original file with that file selected by the Finder.
You can also use Find Any File to search for that file (get the file name from the Info pane in iPhoto). You will find the thumbnail version and maybe an edited version also. Made sure what is found is the large, original version and note were it's located. Search all of your drives with FAF just in case.
If you don't fine the full sized version then the only recourse is to use a file recovery application like SubrosaSoft FileSalvage on your drives to see if any of your full sized photos can be recovered. If you find enough files to make the purchase of the software worthwhile buy it and recover the files. However, since it may have been quite a while since you discovered the missing originals it seems unlikely you'll be able to recover any due to being overwritten.
2 - book projects are just entries in the library databases and can't be exported to another library.

IPhoto Froze during book viewing, lost book

While trying to do a final view of a 100page book tonight, iPhoto would not let me view the book, once I was able to view it, there were no pages in the book but the pictures were all viewable in the panel above the book pages.
It stated that my theme was unavailable but when I went to select a new theme it was still there.
Anybody have this issue and know how to recover my book, no I have not had my time machine on yet.

Welcome to the Apple Discussions.
I'm afraid if a book is lost the only way to recover it is from a back up.
The loss is caused by some form of database corruption.
Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

HT204655 How can I access a iPhoto book from time machine without it being modified by Photos?

When I updated to Yosemite I didn't realize the ramifications for iPhoto (silly me). When I migrated my iPhoto library to Photos I have somehow lost a couple of iBooks I had created. I have a number of older iPhoto books under projects, just not the most recent ones. I have checked my other libraries and they are not there. I realized that Apple might have the book in their system from the print order I made a few weeks ago, which they did. And I was able to reorder the book from my invoice for the last order and with help from some very nice Apple support people. However they cannot migrate the book back to me. So now I need to try and find it so I don't have to recreate it. I think it must be in Time Machine somewhere but I am afraid if I find it and try to reinstall it, Yosemite will do something with it. I have noticed when I opened another book that Yosemite said the format was no longer available and reformatted it to another template. Help.

So when I try to uodate iPhoto from my applications folder I am told to uplate IT from the App Store and when I go there I am told the updae is not available in Canada.
You can no longer buy iPhoto from the appStore anywhere, and also not update it from the "Updates" tab of the AppStore. You can reinstall it, if it is showing among your Purchases at the App Store and associated with your AppleID.
Sign into the AppStore look at the Purchases tab. If you do not see iPhoto there, try to unhide your Purchases as described on this page: Hide and unhide purchases in the Mac App Store - Apple Support
If iPhoto shows on your Purchases tab, reinstall as described in this User Tip:

The main idea is to move the iPhoto app to the Trash, so Spotlight does not see it as installed, reload the AppStore, and then to try to download again from the App Store - from your Purchases tab, not from the main page, since you can neither buy iPhoto nor update it, but you can reinstall, if your AppleID is associated with it.
You may need to unhide your Purchases, if you do not see iPhoto on the Purchases page when you sign into the AppStore with your AppleID:

Unable to upload iPhoto book to print from iPad

I have been unable to upload my iPhoto book to print it from my iPad...
It will go through the process of requesting apple ID password --> verifying my credit card --> then will say "placing order. uploading project" and look like it is uploading (ie blue bar showing progress) and sometimes this is progressing for hours, but then the app will crash and close down.
Things I've tried/confirmed so far: I have the up to date versions of iOS and iPhoto, I have it connected to wi-fi and plugged in, I have closed down all other apps on the iPad
Has anyone else had this issue? Any solutions?
Is there a way to upload it from my computer instead? -- I have a PC but have been unable to find the 'book' or photos in iTunes or elsewhere on the computer to even try this...

You have covered most issues, but you do not mention how much free memory you are having on your iPad. Submitting a book for printing need plenty of free memory on your iPad, about the same amount as the combined size of your photos. Could it be, that you are running out of memory?
Another reason might be an unprintable, corrupted photo in your book.
Is there a way to upload it from my computer instead? -- I have a PC but have been unable to find the 'book' or photos in iTunes or elsewhere on the computer to even try this...

Iphoto book no longer shows pictures

Opened a previously completed iphoto book. Immediate message "book has been successfully upgraded". Not sure what this means but when opening the book all of the placed pistures were not on th respective pages although the narrative was. Pictures are in the project but not in the book. I am afraid to open up other books as manybooks are fairly large and I do not want to have to go back and replicate. Howcan I open without losing the pictures on the pages? Thaks for any help. Find the Event that contains one of the photos in the book and doiuble click on the photo's thumbnail. Tell us what you see. If it's a blank window with the following:
then iPhoto has lost/broken the link/file path to the original file. If that's what you're seeing do the following: if you have the space available on your hard drive and don't aready have a backup copy of the library make a temporary, backup copy (select the library and type Commadn+D) and apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
Fix #1
Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
Select the options identified in the screenshot.

Using iPhoto Library Manager to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
Download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
Click on the Add Library button, navigate to your Home/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File ➙ Rebuild Library menu option
In the next window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments but not books, calendars or slideshows. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.

hello all. i have a iphoto book that i am working on on my desktop. is it possible to move this file to my laptop and continue working on the go? i have all the same photos on both computers and i just want to work on the iphoto book "file". thanks in advance.

It's true, there is a risk of damaging libraries, but only if you use the same library on both machines, then try to sync. If you sync before switching computers, the sync will perform correctly, and no data will be lost.
Obviously, if Apple came up with a record-level mechanism for synchronizing iPhoto between machines it would be perfect. They already have the technology: it's basically what iTunes does with music and all the other data it manages. I am waiting for Apple to do between local machines what it does with iPod, iPhone and Apple TV.

Iphoto book order cancelled - Totally dissatisfying customer service

This message to alert you that Apple might cancel your iPhoto book order for no reason !
This is what just happened to me, leaving me in a totally dissatisfying and frustrating situation, as I did everything to have this book in time for Christmas, had to go through over an hour on the helpline with Customer Services, whose agents are badly informed on the solutions that they can offer you when such mistakes happen ---
I ordered an iphoto book on December 14, in order to have it in time for Christmas.
Nothing was reported wrong or erroneous when I placed the order and uploaded the book. Two days later, Apple cancelled my order without any notification sent to me. I have only learned about it on December 21, worried that my book had not arrived yet. I checked online about my order status, which then said "order cancelled". No explanation why. I waited for Monday December 23 in order to be able to talk from someone at Customer Services. I was then told that my order had been cancelled because one picture and text was overlapping, but they could not tell me exactly which one. It was then suggested to me that I should replace the same order and call back so that they could accelerate the process.
I placed the order and sent the exact same book to Apple again and then called back. Another assistant from Customer Services advised me that there was nothing they could do in order to accelerate the printing and delivery process. All they COULD HAVE offered me was 15% discount, which the first assistant did not mention and which now was too late for me to benefit from since I had already placed the order. Also, I was told that my exact same order did not produce any issue for printing, so that the first cancellation was in fact made without any reason.
This leaves me with the following situation: Although I have placed my first order in time for it to arrive before Christmas, I end up with no Christmas present, over an hour lost on the phone with customer services, no discount, no accelerated printing or delivery process or any other gesture in order for my infuriating situation to be less so, and a photo book that will arrive in early January when I will have already left my family to work abroad again.
I am entirely dissatisfied with the quality of the Apple iphoto book service and Apple customer services. I have not obtained any help or remedy from your customer services although several mistakes had been made on their side.
You are well advised to consider alternatives before spending hours on creating an iphoto book...

And I cannot understand why the support did nothing to rectify their mistake and help you to get your book printed in time.The support teams at the Print Products Stores probably will not read these these Forums, these are user-to-user discussions. IPhoto book - Never shipped

How frustrating. I ordered my first printed book from Apple and it supposedly shipped on July 13 to be delivered on July 17. I paid for express shipping. On July 17, I checked the tracking number and the only information was that the order was electronically transmitted to FedEx. I called FedEx and they said a label was printed, but the package was not picked up by FedEx. I called Apple and was told they had no access to the iPhoto book printer so they would send an email and I would have a resolution in 24 hours.
I got an email this morning from the fool who read the complaint. The email response simply stated that the "order shipped July 13, if you don't receive it in two business days, reply to this email". They also suggested I track it with FedEx, which I had done and it was noted in the original complaint. Great resolution! Obviously I hadn't received it by July 17 or I wouldn't have called them. I responded to the email and have not received word back. I called Apple and the representative said, "I'm going to give you a web address to trouble shoot your iPhoto issue". What a moron. I asked to speak to a supervisor. She stated that they had no access to the iPhoto printer and that my response to the email was the only way to contact them. She told me to wait an additional 24 hours to see what happens.
I don't mind waiting an appropriate period of time to have a problem resolved, but when they promise one thing and then fail, it's frustrating. So I guess I'm at their mercy.

First preview the book to ensure that all the pictures appear fine in the preview.
What is the exact error you are getting, as this may help determine what you need to do for a resolution.
Also, try to connect to the internet direct wire instead of wireless for best results.

You have a damaged book or library. Try this: launch iPhoto with the Option key held down and create a new, test library. Import some photos, create a test book and see if the same problem persists. If it doesn't then yhour library is damaged so try the following:
1 - create a new book and see if you can change the cover and back photos. If you can then recreate the book from scratch. If you can't you'll need to continue with #2:
2 - apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
Fix #1
Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
Since only one option can be run at a time start with Option #3, followed by #4 and then #1 as needed.

Using iPhoto Library Manager to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library

IPhoto Book Upload hanging up.

For some reason everytime my iPhoto Book starts uploading it gets stuck at 115mb? Any ideas?

My iPhoto book and calendars are getting stuck while uploading. Its stuck at the "connecting" screen. My Internet connection is tested and working fine. The problem with this is that Apple is authorizing the charge on my credit card so it reduces my money available. I don't have the funds to close and try my upload again. Why would they authorize the payment amount before the book is finished uploading?!

FIM 2010 Sync Error : stopped-database-connection-lost

a weird thing just happened to me,
i'm synchronizing my MA and suddently i get the "stopped-database-connection-lost" error
i have 5 Galsync MAs working perfectly and this sixth one just failing ... (since like today)
which makes me wonder what is happening ... ?
any ideas ?

Look in the event log on the FIM Sync Server and on the SQL Server.
This error occurs when FIM can't contact the SQL Server that hosts the FIMSynchronizationService database.
Does this happen every time the sixth MA is run? What if you run them in a different order (might help us distinguish between a resource issue and something specific to that MA)?
