IPhoto book has vertical lines down the pages

I am ready to send my 54 page photo book to Apple.  However, in going through it one more time, there are vertical lines --1 -2 per page on about half of the pages.  They have not been there before.  They are white or colored.  Some go through all the page vertically and some are only 1/2 the distance.  Most of the pages effected are the left or the even number ones, but that is not always the case.  I shut down IPhoto to see if that would work.  Last night support here told me to rebuild the library which I did--that was to take care of the constantly spinning color wheel.  What can I do about this new problem.  I am so excited about the book and want to send it to print, but fear that these lines will show up.

Thanks Larry,
YOu have been spot on this week with my 2 questions.  The preview seems to be fine, so guess I can proceed. The lines are gone in the preview.
There is also another glitch, however.  In my map page, I have identified the cities.  Most of them are there, but some--only the red dots are there and when I click on the red dot, the name shows, then when I click outside the book, the dot stays, and the name goes away.  There seems to be plenty of room for the name.  I thought it might be OK in the preview, since the lines went away, but there are still a couple that don't show.

  • T400s vertical line down the screen - outside of warranty

    Hi
I've had a T400s for just a 2 bit over 2 years now and was always happy with it. I used it mostly with my docking station and have never travelled with it. Now out of the blue one day half the screen was black with a few pixel problems right in the middle with a clear vertical line down the screen. I was perplexed because I was sure no damage whatsoever happened to the notebook.
I googled and it seems to be a common problem:
    A link among others:
"We have about 1200 T400s systems deployed and there has been a higher than normal failure rate with them compared to X301 and T61 systems. Our issues are LCD failure with a vertical line down the screen (very common), Speaker/Audio issues, and DoA systems."

The problem seems to be known:
    http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/detail.page?LegacyDocID=MIGR-76367
But since the notebook is outside of warranty but it's obviously a manufacturing problem on a (very) expensive notebook, how could I approach Lenovo service center to repair it for me? I have shelled out well over 2'500 Euro for the latest model back then and am a bit disappointed to be honest..
Thanks for any advice on how to approach this!

@tripplec, i don't understand how a Chinese company affects the outcome of the OP's problem? Would IBM do it differently?
Yes, I spent 3 years at a Toronto Bank who bought say 500 systems or so plus notebooks. ThinkPad's and Think Center product. I supported did the warranty work while there. When the warranty was up it was up!! Even if a  lowly optical mouse fail and a number of them did. Too bad nor replacement.
I've delt with IBM, Compaq and HP. There customer relations is entirely at at different level and would and did on  may occasions provide one time post warranty repair even for catestophic issues well after warranty was over. This is a case by case basis. You could reach them and talk to them (locally) and not haveway around the world having no sense of what significance your case it.
There is a difference as was the turn around time  48hrs max and not weeks.

  • I have a white vertical line down the right side of my internal brand new macbook pro 13" display

I have a white vertical line down the right side of my internal brand new macbook pro 13" display. I've done the following:
-Shutdown the computer, and restarted in Safe Mode by pressing the Shift key after the restart tone
-Shutdown the computer, and restarted by pressing Command, Option, P & R after the restart tone
-Checked display resolution, Best for Retina
-Hooked it up to a Dell external monitor and via projection to screen. There are no lines on the external or secondary screens
-Just curious, I ran a color utility which can not repair 4 items, maybe this is another issue.
This is a brand new Macbook Pro, just out of the box. It was fine for two days without any issues, fine last night while in use, opened it up this morning with the line.
Anyone now how I can fix this on my own?

  • Question marks on my pictures and diagonal lines down the page

My site is web.mac.com/jkmerchant. Last night I changed a couple page names, re-ordered them, added some photos, added a blog entry and updated the text, added a new picture on the welcome page and replaced a picture on the welcome page. Ever since then, my changes publish (with an error) and I can see the updates via my browser, but almost all of my pages now have question marks on the pictures and diagonal frame type lines down the page. I appreciate any suggestions to fix this problem. I've verified the question marks are appearing in IE using a windows computer and Safari (as well as in iWeb) on a Mac.

  • IPhone 5 has vertical lines on the screen. Help !

Hey a few days ago. I left my phone on a table faced down in a small puddle of bubble mix. ugh.
Everything works the sound, touch screen, camera. No glitches. But my phone is discolored & has vertical lines.
I was wondering of If should just get a new screen or if there's a better way ??

Try backing up the phone and then do a restore, when you restore set it up as new to see if it still persists if it does you''ll probably need a repair.

  • Qosmio G10 has vertical lines on the display

I've got a G10 which I've been using quite happily for the last 15 months since I bought it.
However, it's now got 4 vertical lines on the display, 2 purple (magenta?), 1 yellow and 1 cyan. Other than these lines there are no other problems, it's never crashed or anything like that.
The lines are always there, they never change in any way and are always in the same place. They appear on the display at very first powerup, before the Qosmio logo comes on.
They didn't all appear at the same time, they have all appeared individually over the last two months. I did see the last one disappear briefly, then stay on.
I'm assuming my display is slowly dying, which I would assume to be an expensive item.
Any advice thrown my way would be much appreciated!
I took a picture of the screen which you can find at:
    http://www.imagebucket.net/images/lldata/displaylines.jpg
Note: picture was taken with Media Player fullscreen on a black image, just to show up the lines clearly)

    Hi
I would suggest connecting an external display to check if it's a graphic card or a display problem. If this lines appears also on the external display so there could be also something wrong with the graphic card.
If these lines don't appear on the external monitor so only the notebook display has a malfunction.
However, this doesn't change anything on your situation. I would recommend contacting the Toshiba ASP for solving this issue.

  • HP 3055 Prints a line down the page

I am having some trouble with an HP Laserjet 3055, when I print a page while the printer is 'cold' , a small strip 1/8" thick of garbage prints down the entire length of the page..  If I print more than one page the error gets smaller and smaller and around the 4th page the printer prints perfectly...
If I wait over a minute before printing another page the 'line' resurfaces.
I've tried different toner cartridges and have done the printers cleaning command, nothing has helped...   Does anyone have any idea ?

I have similar problem with HP LaserJet 2430.
While printing, characters from each line are repeated at 3 inch intervals along the length of the paper at about 2 inches and 7 inches from the left margin that appear as two grey bands on the printout. The widths of the bands are approximately 2 characters and 8 characters. For example when a single line is printed the characters at 2 in and 7 in locations from the left margin repeat at 3, 6 and 9 inches down from the printed line and the intensity of the printing decreases.
For example if I print a printer test page, the HP logo at the top right corner will repeat with reducing intensity at 3, 6, and 9 inches from the first logo print.
Similarly if I print a word document with just one line of numbers 1234567890 repeated for the width, the numbers 23 at 2 inch and 67890123 at 7 inch from left margin will repeat every 3 inch along the length of paper (portrait mode) with decreasing intensity.
While printing documents with multiple lines this causes two grey vertical bands along the length of the paper.

  • Black screen with a thick white vertical line down the middle?

I turned my iPod touch 5 off, it was at about 10%. I turned it back on a few minutes later and there was the apple logo, as usual, but with small white writing on the black background. Then, I plugged it into my charger, and the logo and writing faded away. Instead, there then was a black screen with a thick white vertical line going down the middle, and it seems to be stuck like that. What happened and how do I fix it??
Note: My home button is stuck and does not work. Also, I never updated my iPod to iOS 7.

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
When it says place the iPod in recovery mode,
Place the iPod in recovery mode using one of these programs:
    For PC
RecBoot: Easy Way to Put iPhone into Recovery Mode
    or
    http://joshuabailey1997.wordpress.com/2010/09/02/recboot-v1-3/
    If necessary:
    Download QTMLClient.dll & iTunesMobileDevice.dll for RecBoot
    and
    RecBoot tip
RecBoot may have problems on 64X windows, then try:
Tenorshare ReiBoot – Enter & Exit iPhone, iPad, iPod Recovery Mode with a Single Click
    For MAC or PC
    The Firmware Umbrella - TinyUmbrella
    Installs blootware on PC too
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try another cable
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • I-Mac crash with vertical lines down the screen

My i-Mac is about 4 years old, running OS-X version 10.8.2.
About 2 weeks ago my system suddenly crashed and the whole screen was filled with vertical lines - alternate blue and white.
Yesterday the same thing happened, except that the vertical lines were alternate red and white.
Both times I turned the desktop off, left it for a minute or two, and then turned it back on again. The system then booted up normally and I was able to access all my applications as normal.
To date my i-Mac has been very reliable but I am a bit worried that this 'crash' problem has now occurred twice. I have kept the operating system up-to-date and am running OS-X 10.8.2.
Could anyone please tell me why this problem is occuring and how I can fix it?
    Thanks in anticipation.

    Thanks for your help.
I have a 24" i-Mac (bought new in 2009), do your comments still apply?'
What do you think could have caused the card to develop this fault? (Currently only internmittent, but it presumably will get worse)?
I will back up my files and go and see my local Apple Store as you suggested, but do you have any idea how much replacing the graphics card on my 24" machine would cost??

  • Intel iMac (Early 2008) Has vertical lines on the screen and doesn't boot.

My iMac froze up tonight, and upon restarting it there are a number of yellow vertical line segments throughout the display, and it will not boot completely into the OS. The spinning segment just stops and the computer does nothing. I inserted my Leopard disc to run a hardware test but holding D during bootup does nothing, even though I can hear the disc spin up.

    Any Thoughts?

I've had this same exact issue and have had to have the graphics card replace (nvidia 8800gs).
It seems these graphics cards are defective in some way.
Unfortunately my iMac is out of warranty and I must pay 3500dkk ( 500usd ) for repair.
I'm very disappointed as to the reliability of these iMacs as I've only had it for 2 years my old iMac g4 1ghz has performed better than this and is actually what I'm using until my so called new iMac is back from repairs
