IPhoto Book Prints Rotated

I hope someone can help me with this because it is driving me bonkers!
I have been working on a book in iPhoto for about 6 months now. I am using iPhoto 6, the theme is a 6"X8" and it is Folio.
I have entered text and photos and everything looks great. But when I try to print to PDF of even make a slideshow the text is rotated 90 degrees. The photos display correctly it is just the text that turns. it is weird because it goes off the screen too.
I duplicated the book and changed themes (but not the size) and it still does the same thing.
When i change the book to an 8.5X11 in the same theme it work great.I need the book to be a 6X8.
I have printed this book and have made a slideshow before and it looked normal.
The only thing that I have done that I can think could effect this is I have added printers and Adobe CS2.
Does anyone know why this is happening?

So I did some more playing with it last night and I found a thread that fixed my problem even though it did not say it would fix MY problem I tried it and it worked like a charm.
I cannon find the thread that I used but here is basically what I did:
Closed iPhoto and all other applications.
Opened the finder and located the file "com.apple.iPhoto.plist"
This resided in Preferences/Library....
I then pulled it onto my desktop.
I logged out of my computer.
Logged back in.
Then reopened iPhoto.
It acted like it was my first time opening iPhoto and reset all my preferences to the default. But all of my photos and albums were still in the Library.
I opened the book and played a slide show and it worked great.
I hope this helps someone, I know I am not the only one this has happened to.

  • IPhoto Book Print - Rejected

    Sirs
Could you please help me with an issue that I currently have with iPhoto.
As a Christmas Present for my 6 year old daughter, I have created an iPhoto book of our recent trip to EuroDisney. I completed the book and purchased it via the Apple Store in iPhoto.
However, I have today received an email stating as follows:
    To Our Valued Apple Customer:
It appears that when your order was submitted to Apple, an error caused the
image file to be unreadable or unprintable. As a result, Apple is unable to
process your order and you will not be charged. We recommend the following
      before submitting your order:
      1. Update your software.
      2. Restart your computer.
      3. Make sure all applications are closed.
      4. Open iPhoto or Aperture.
      5. While all other applications are closed, preview your print product as a
      PDF.
      6. Resubmit your order.
While previewing and resubmitting your order, make sure all other applications
are closed. For instructions on how to update your software, refer to:
Mac OS X - Updating your software
      <http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1338>
I have checked the version of my MacBook - it is OS X 10.7 and I have checked the version of my iPhoto - it is 9.1.5. When selecting purchase in iPhoto, it is stating that I need to upgrade to 9.2.3. However, when I attempt to check for new updates in iPhoto itself, it is stating that my version is the latest version. Furthermore, checking for software updates via the Apple logo does not bring up any update for iPhoto nor does any updates in my Application Store.
It seems as if I require an update but there are no ways in which I can update this.
Could someone please advise / assist as I desperately want to get this book printed.
    Many Thanks
    Paul

If you update your system to 10.7.5 with the OS X Lion Update 10.7.5 (Client Combo) and OS X Lion 10.7.5 Supplemental Update updaters you can update your iPhoto version all the way to 9.4.2 thru the updaters availailable here: Apple - Support - Downloads-iPhoto 9.
But that's no guarantee that will fix the problem. If the problem image appears OK in a PDF preview of the book it should, as Larry pointed out, print out OK.  If it doesn't look OK in the PDF preview file export it out of iPhoto, open in Preview and export as a new, JPEG file.  Import it back into iPhoto, add to the book and replace the problem file with the newly created one.  Then create a new PDF file of the book and check that photo.

  • Iphoto book printing outside US

I want to order an iPhoto book in The Netherlands. When I press Buy Book I only get the option to buy in the US. I created a new Apple ID with an address in The Netherlands. Still I can only enter a shipping address in the US when I press Buy Book.

Go to iPhoto's Advanced preference pane and select Netherlands under the  Print Products Store menu.

  • IPhoto book printed incorrectly

I recently ordered an iphoto book.  It came with the bottom of every page slightly cut off which resulted in several photo labels being cut roughly in half.  These labels are completely visible on the iPhoto version of the book and there is no warning sign about the lables.  Is there a way to talk to Apple about possibly having the books reprinted?

Did you preview the book as described in the Apple document, iPhoto '11: Preview a book, card, or calendar before you order or print it, before you ordered it? Was the error shown in the pdf preview?

  • Getting an iPhoto book printed immediately

    Greetings from Sydney, Australia.
I am using iPhoto 08 to create a portfolio book but i'm in a miassive rush and can't wait for Apple to print and ship it to me.What are my options? Can I get it printed at a professional printing place... will I need to take my computer there? I know the PDF option is there but that will diminish the quality yes?
So, how can I get the book printed without going through Apple?
Thank you thank you thank you in anticipation.

Welcome to the Apple user discussions
you can make a PDF and print it yourself or take it to a local printer - I doubt that you will get the binding quality and doing the dust cover would be difficult - it is really not a do it yourself project - but you can make the PDF and do anything you want with it

  • Aussie created Iphoto book printed in the US?

I live in Australia and have created my iphoto book on my computer here but would like to have my photo book printed in the US and shipped to my parents for Christmas.
Is there anyway I can do this?
    Thanks.

    Greetings,
The last time I saw a question on this topic it was a bit over 2 years ago so the answer may have changed but yes, Canadian book orders are printed in Canada.  As far as taxes, what you see in the order window is the total for the book in your region.
To find out for sure before you order, contact Apple Store Customer service for Canada and indicate you want to ensure that the total dollar amount indicated in the order window is indeed what you will be charged (I would assume it is otherwise there would be lots of people yelling about it).
    Cheers.

  • I have created a family recipe book in iBooks - can I print it using iPhoto's print service?

I have created a family recipe book in iBooks - can I print it using iPhoto's print service? I don't want to print it on our home printer - I want to print multiple copies for family members through the Apple iPhoto book printing service.  Can anyone help me please?

There is no Apple print service for iBooks, and iPhoto can also only print photo books created in iPhoto.
Print your iBook to pdf. Then you have several option:
Save the pdf to a thumbsdrive/stick  and take it to the nearest print shop close to your home.
Search online for "self publishing" services available in your country.
Recreate your book as an iPhoto Book. This will be a lot of work, since iPhoto's templates are more suitable for Picture books than books with lots of formatted text. To speed things up, you could use "Preview" to export the pages of your book as jpegs (high quality, at least 300 dpi) and add themas full-page photos to a new PhotoBook. This can be sent to apple for printing.
But the first two options would be much less trouble and probably be less expensive.

  • 72dpi in pdf iphoto book preview

    Hi,
I'm planning to have my first iphoto book printed by apple. BUT, as described here on the forum before, it is wise to first check the .pdf preview.
I made an right-click --> save book as pdf... preview.
When I take a look at the specs of the preview I get worried:
    11 x 8,5 inch
    792 x 612 px
This means it is just 72 dpi!
The source photo's are big and high in resolution (3307 x 2539 jpg 300 dpi 24 bit)
Will the pdf file that will be send to apple be 72 dpi also? Cause that is an unacceptable resolution for printing.
    Can someone please advise?

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. Where are you seeing this spec and how did you create the preview: iPhoto, Aperture: Previewing a book order in iPhoto or Aperture?
The figure you posted is not px but pts which is points. If you change it to inches via the drop down menu you'll find that it is 8.5 x 11 inches.
iPhoto creates PDF files for uploading and printing that are at 300 dpi.

  • IPhoto book - Never shipped

How frustrating. I ordered my first printed book from Apple and it supposedly shipped on July 13 to be delivered on July 17. I paid for express shipping. On July 17, I checked the tracking number and the only information was that the order was electronically transmitted to FedEx. I called FedEx and they said a label was printed, but the package was not picked up by FedEx. I called Apple and was told they had no access to the iPhoto book printer so they would send an email and I would have a resolution in 24 hours.
I got an email this morning from the fool who read the complaint. The email response simply stated that the "order shipped July 13, if you don't receive it in two business days, reply to this email". They also suggested I track it with FedEx, which I had done and it was noted in the original complaint. Great resolution! Obviously I hadn't received it by July 17 or I wouldn't have called them. I responded to the email and have not received word back. I called Apple and the representative said, "I'm going to give you a web address to trouble shoot your iPhoto issue". What a moron. I asked to speak to a supervisor. She stated that they had no access to the iPhoto printer and that my response to the email was the only way to contact them. She told me to wait an additional 24 hours to see what happens.
I don't mind waiting an appropriate period of time to have a problem resolved, but when they promise one thing and then fail, it's frustrating. So I guess I'm at their mercy.
