in the iPhoto preferences change the print products country to the UK and give it a try - there may be some restirctions on billing but it has worked for some people

Do I get confirmation that my Iphoto book is being produced and sent out?

I put together a photo book in Iphoto and submitted it. It went through all the rendering and processing. My credit card bill shows it was in the process of being charged, but there was no confirmation from Apple that my book will be produced and mailed out. Is this how it is suppose to happen?

Iphoto book printing outside US

I want to order an iPhoto book in The Netherlands. When I press Buy Book I only get the option to buy in the US. I created a new Apple ID with an address in The Netherlands. Still I can only enter a shipping address in the US when I press Buy Book.

Go to iPhoto's Advanced preference pane and select Netherlands under the Print Products Store menu.

How can I book services in ical and have that booking generate an editable invoice in numbers

I would like to book an appointment with billable services in ical and have that booking generate an invoice which I can edit in numbers. Possible? working on an ipad 4th generation.

I would think with an Applescript you could create duplicate of an invoice template which is saved in a specific file (and location) and a calendar entry with a shortcut to that new file.
This would be something you, or someone else, would have to write, test and deploy. It is not built into Numbers.
You could do this manually by creating a template for your document.
Each time you book an event you open the tamplate and save as the invoice number, then create a calendar event where you include the new invoice document as an attachment:

Can we use JCE embedded into JAVA 1.5 outside USA and Canada?

Hello all,
in the old JCE 1.2.2 (http://java.sun.com/products/archive/jce/) where was a restriction: RESTRICTED TO THE UNITED STATES AND CANADA. If you do not reside in the United States or Canada, you will not be able to download this software.
Is there the same restriction also in the embedded JCE into java 1.5 ?
I can not see any restriction. is it correct?
Could you give me the link where I can find the restriction or the license and term of use about JCE embedded in JAVA 1.5?

Those restrictions were lifted during the Clinton administration.

- If you previously turned on FIndMyiPod on the iPod in Settings>iCloud and wifi is on and connected go to iCloud: Find My iPhone, sign in and go to FIndMyiPhone. If the iPod has been restored it will never show up.

IPhoto books- delivery to USA from Canada?

I live in Canada and have made a lovely book in iPhoto that I want to order and have sent to someone in the States. When I go to the delivery info page there are no fields for American addresses. How do I get around this? Thanks in advance for any suggetions.

Which version of iPhoto are you using?
To have a book delivered to the States, you need to order the book from the Print Products Store in the States. Set "Print Products Store" in iPhoto's Preferences > Advanced to "United States". (in iPhoto '11)
To make this work, you need to have an AppleID with the Delivery Address and the Billing Address in the States, and the Credit Card needs to be valid in the States as well.

IPhoto Book- Does Apple ship to Canada?

Just wondering if Apple ships the books to Canada? I have ordered several before and shipped to a US address. No problem. When I wanted some shipped to Canada, they billed my card but I didn't see the books. No luck getting a response from anyone. Gave up in frustration and quit using their service. I love the look of the books and want to order many through a new company I am working with. I'm afraid to hype them with my new boss because if the service is crap, it's not going to look good for getting Macs in our new facility. Which I am very close to convincing them. The books would be a very impressive component. The new facility is a seniors complex, looking to create family books and memory albums for loved ones. I see great potential with the books but it has to be "on the money".

I have ordered submitted roughly 15 orders for books through Apple and had them delivered succesfully to my address in Vancouver. I always order express now, so the package can be tracked and it arrives in 3-5 days total.
Only once did the order not arrive - when I sent it "regular" I called them , they credited my account and I had the book resent express.

I am having this challenge: I need to order 50 albums from Iphoto from the Apple Online Store in The Netherlands and must have them delivered in Bucharest, in 15 days!!! How can I change the delivery location??

probably not possible since Romania is not in the list of countries served - If it is you would set the print products country in the iPhoto preferences

Iphoto book order cancelled - Totally dissatisfying customer service

This message to alert you that Apple might cancel your iPhoto book order for no reason !
This is what just happened to me, leaving me in a totally dissatisfying and frustrating situation, as I did everything to have this book in time for Christmas, had to go through over an hour on the helpline with Customer Services, whose agents are badly informed on the solutions that they can offer you when such mistakes happen ---
I ordered an iphoto book on December 14, in order to have it in time for Christmas.
Nothing was reported wrong or erroneous when I placed the order and uploaded the book. Two days later, Apple cancelled my order without any notification sent to me. I have only learned about it on December 21, worried that my book had not arrived yet. I checked online about my order status, which then said "order cancelled". No explanation why. I waited for Monday December 23 in order to be able to talk from someone at Customer Services. I was then told that my order had been cancelled because one picture and text was overlapping, but they could not tell me exactly which one. It was then suggested to me that I should replace the same order and call back so that they could accelerate the process.
I placed the order and sent the exact same book to Apple again and then called back. Another assistant from Customer Services advised me that there was nothing they could do in order to accelerate the printing and delivery process. All they COULD HAVE offered me was 15% discount, which the first assistant did not mention and which now was too late for me to benefit from since I had already placed the order. Also, I was told that my exact same order did not produce any issue for printing, so that the first cancellation was in fact made without any reason.
This leaves me with the following situation: Although I have placed my first order in time for it to arrive before Christmas, I end up with no Christmas present, over an hour lost on the phone with customer services, no discount, no accelerated printing or delivery process or any other gesture in order for my infuriating situation to be less so, and a photo book that will arrive in early January when I will have already left my family to work abroad again.
I am entirely dissatisfied with the quality of the Apple iphoto book service and Apple customer services. I have not obtained any help or remedy from your customer services although several mistakes had been made on their side.
You are well advised to consider alternatives before spending hours on creating an iphoto book...

Anne, that is really outragious. And I cannot understand why the support did nothing to rectify their mistake and help you to get your book printed in time.The support teams at the Print Products Stores probably will not read these these Forums, these are user-to-user discussions. So, to make Apple listen to your justified complaint, use the feedback form.

Can I send an iphoto book to someone else's computer?

Greetings! I am so frustrated! I have created an iphoto book for a student and purchased copies of the book online. No problem. The problem, now, however, is that he would like the techno version of his book. Makes sense to me. Perhaps he'd like to modify it, or whatever. But I cannot figure out how to send it to him. The only thing I can do is purchase it (which I've already done). Any help with this would be oh so gratefully received.

Well, thanks so much all of you! I'm so computer illiterate that I guess I'll need to find an in-person mac expert to help, if help is to be had. After all of your advice, I have tried 'printing' as a pdf. What I actually tried was emailing as a pdf. No go. File WAY too big. I tried 'printing' as a pdf and saving to a flash drive. I THOUGHT that would maybe work, but it didn't.
This is a tricky one since my student is international. We did the book in southern Africa, he is currently living in the States, and I am currently living in Canada. On my mac, which is where the book is in iphoto, I can ONLY buy the book if I send it to a Canadian address. I DID buy the book--several copies thereof--and had it sent to my Canadian address and distributed it from there. No, however, this student would like access to the iphoto file. Wow! I had no idea this would end up being so difficult. Next time I create such a photo book I will try to find another way to do it that is more flexible. I haven't tried Shutterfly, etc...
But, BOTTOM LINE, thank you so much to all of you who tried to help me out!

Iphoto Book -- client approval

I'm designing an Iphoto book for a client and want to send them a versionto look over. I tried saving it as a PDF in Iphoto, but doing it that way loses the "book format" -- no drop shadows or outlines to show the book dimensions. It loses the effect of seeing it as a book.
Any thoughts on how to include that formating.
What I've done as a workaround is to use Preview's Grab and save the images from Iphoto layout page. It works okay, but it's a little slow, especially sense I'm doing three different layouts.

While in the book mode type Command+P. Once the Print window comes up go to the PDF menu button and select Save as PDF. That will give you a different pdf than the one you get via the Preview/Save as PDf. Each cover, outside and inside, front and back, will be as a page in the book.
This slideshow page shows how each page will look if you do it that way.
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier) database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger or later), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 6 and 7 libraries and Tiger and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.≤br>
Note: There now an Automator backup application for iPhoto 5 that will work with Tiger or Leopard.

Ordering iPhoto Book abroad

I'm a .mac member living in Hong Kong, which iPhoto book is not supported over here. Can I still purchase iPhoto Book on line and have it delivered to my friend's place in USA where this service is supported?

Have just found myself in the same boat - checked the iLife06 page (http://www.apple.com/ilife/iphoto/features/books.html) and couldn't find anything about geographical limitations, so went ahead and prepared a few books. Just hit "buy book" to purchase the first one, and discovered that I couldn't order one from Hong Kong.
Given the copyright considerations, I can completely understand why I can't purchase music and/or movies from the iTunes music store, but not being able to purchase an iPhoto book makes little sense, and is one of those little things that makes me wonder about the Apple promise that "it all just works together". Given that it's all about being online, I'm not sure why a small postage charge can't fix things.
Anyway, time for me to go and sulk in a corner...
