IPhoto Book Upload hanging up.

For some reason everytime my iPhoto Book starts uploading it gets stuck at 115mb? Any ideas?
Thanks a million in advance.

My iPhoto book and calendars are getting stuck while uploading. Its stuck at the "connecting" screen. My Internet connection is tested and working fine. The problem with this is that Apple is authorizing the charge on my credit card so it reduces my money available. I don't have the funds to close and try my upload again. Why would they authorize the payment amount before the book is finished uploading?!

  • IPhoto book upload failed using iPhoto 9.4.3 and Mountain Lion

    Hi
I have tried to upload iPhoto book several times but the upload failed.  I have tried rebooting my iMac in Safe Mode but this results in iPhoto closing when I try to buy my book.  I have uploaded books in the past using Snow Leopard with no issues.

I hope this helps, thank you for taking an interest in this problem.

  • Iphoto book upload problem

When purchasing a Book, iTunes assembles the book then goes to submit but stalls. Tried 3 times with no success
    Solutions anyone?

I was experiencing this same problem:
    1. Upload goes very quickly (a few seconds whether 10 Mb or 33 Mb).
    2. Then I'd get an error message indicating "An error occurred while uploading one of your files. Please check your network connection and click Retry to resend your file"
    3. I'd click the Retry button and it would indicate a successful transfer.
    4. Shortly thereafter, I'd receive the cancelled order e-mail from Apple.
    I am using iPhoto 5.0.4.
After a lot of scouring of the Apple KnowledgeBase and mostly of this forum, I tried many things, none to any avail.
I suspected finally that there may be some kind of network interference or interrution, so first I quit all apps that might access the Internet (e.g., Mail, Safari, iChat). Still no success.
Then I realized I had Earthlink TotalAccess and WeatherBug running in my menu bar. I quit both of these "mini" apps and voila! My upload of my 33 Mb book was successful (it took about ten odd minutes with a DSL connection over old clunky phone lines).
My suspicion is that it was Earthlink TotalAccess which is constantly sending out and receiving a lot of Network info. It's a very old app and not very "Mac-ish" anyway.
It may be that any high data transfers (i.e., photos) can be sensitive to this kind of frequent network traffic. Some have blamed Apple, but now that I think of it, I have had similar problems uploading large quantities of photos to the major services (KodakGallery, Shutterfly, and Snapfish). I even was trying sharedink.com as an alternative and had the same problem with a failed upload of my iPhoto book pdf file.
    Hope this helps!

  • IPhoto book upload error

I am trying to buy an iphoto book and while my photos are being uploaded I get the following error messge at page 51 of 75 (of my iphotobook): "There is a problem with the photo with the fileneame 'img139.jpg.' The full resolution version of this photo either cannot be located or is corrupt. Please replace photo or delete it from your book." Now, I searched for the file in question (img139.jpg) but could not find it. How do I go about finding the problem photo if the culprit file img139jpg is nowhere to be found? I tried to find the bad photo by reorganizing the photos in my book but I keep getting the same error message at the same point of the upload process (page 51 of 75 of my iphotobook). Any suggestions on how to fix this problem? Thanks.

I found a solution to my own problem, and I offer it to help others: I exported my saved my book to my desktop as a PDF (from File select Print to PDF) and then examined the PDF file I created. I noticed in the PDF file which photos didn't show up on the file and deleted them from my ibook. When I selected to buy the book everything went smoothly. Hope this helps. I welcome any further solutions.

  • Why won't iphoto book upload?

The upload will not complete and I get a failure message.  I have cancelled and retried several times, to no avail.

Boot into Safe Mode, Mac OS X: Starting up in Safe Mode, and preview the book as described in this apple document: iPhoto, Aperture: Previewing an order in iPhoto or Aperture.
Check the PDF file for any errors before ordering the book from the Safe Mode.  Keep the pdf file to compare to the printed copy when you receive it.

  • IPhoto Book upload

Have prepared a book, clicked on buy and been given a price.  But, when I click on checkout nothing happens.  Any ideas before I write to apple to see if there is a problem with my Mavericks OS

There are many, many similar posts in the iPhoto for Mac forum.  Apple has been experiencing problems with their Print Stores all over the world for the last couple of days. It's all on their end and nothing you can do but wait and keep trying.

  • IPhoto '08 Book upload errors with squid transparent proxy - tip

    Hi folks
I've just "solved" a problem I was having with iPhoto Book uploads. The solution may apply to other publishing products from iPhoto and possibly iDisk uploads too.
My firewall & proxy setup is basically Linux iptables redirecting all outbound http (port 80) connections to a dansguardian filter, which in turn is passed onto a squid instance running as a transparent proxy (oh, and there's a privoxy in this all too!). Yeah, OK, I know, slightly paranoid, but I don't want my children accidently browsing stuff I don't think they are old enough for yet!
Now I had the problem before with iPhoto '06 as well, but at the time just didn't have the time or inclination to figure out what the problem was, and just did the book order and upload from the office, where it went through without a problem. This time I decided to dig a bit and see what was happening. The clue that triggered off the solution was watching the part of the order process where the book data is uploaded. In my default setup, the upload bar would scream through to 100%, and then sit there for ages, before coming back with a connection error. Watching the network flashy lights on the NIC on the firewall though, it suddenly dawned on me that what was happening was that the upload was screaming through to the squid (as there was no outbound network activity from the firewall while this was happening) and then sitting there waiting for squid to pass it on to the Apple site (as shown by the outbound NIC activity light suddenly going bonkers once the uoload bar hit 100%).
So clearly there's a problem sending book orders via a squid proxy setup as a transparent proxy. It might also very well be dansguardian interfering and wanting to take the entire upload and checking it before passing it on to squid. I already have site exception setup for all apple.com urls though in dansguardian, so didn't think it would be that. I thought about dicking around with the squid acl's but didn't have the enthusiasm to spend half the day getting that working.
So what I did in the end was tail the squid logs to see what was being proxied whilst the book order was going on, and then dropped in 3 new rules in my iptables setup just before the redirect rule. Tried ordering the book again, and voila!
The three rules I inserted were:
    $IPTABLES -t nat -A PREROUTING -s ! 10.1.1.1 -p tcp -d mercury.apple.com -j ACCEPT
    $IPTABLES -t nat -A PREROUTING -s ! 10.1.1.1 -p tcp -d configuration.apple.com -j ACCEPT
    $IPTABLES -t nat -A PREROUTING -s ! 10.1.1.1 -p tcp -d publish.mac.com -j ACCEPT
The "-s ! 10.1.1.1" bit is obviously particular to my setup, as I wouldn't want connections from the router itself being proxied, so that may need to either be customised or left out altogether. These three rules are then immediately followed by the redirect:
    $IPTABLES -t nat -A PREROUTING -s ! 10.1.1.1 -p tcp --dport 80 -j REDIRECT --to-port 8081
Hope that is of some help to someone out there!

  • HT1040 upload problem iPhoto book

    while ordering iPhoto book,
uploading is interrupted everytime by own process.
    What to do?

It would help if you gave some details like the version of iPhoto and of the OS and the exact error message you are getting - we know nothing about your or your system except what you tell us
    the general answer is
Before ordering your book preview it using this method - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1040 - and save the resulting PDF for reference - the delivered book will match it.
If the preview is good order - if you have a problem then boot into safe mode and order

  • Unable to upload iPhoto book to print from iPad

I have been unable to upload my iPhoto book to print it from my iPad...
It will go through the process of requesting apple ID password --> verifying my credit card --> then will say "placing order. uploading project"  and look like it is uploading (ie blue bar showing progress) and sometimes this is progressing for hours, but then the app will crash and close down.
Things I've tried/confirmed so far:  I have the up to date versions of iOS and iPhoto, I have it connected to wi-fi and plugged in, I have closed down all other apps on the iPad
Has anyone else had this issue? Any solutions?
Is there a way to upload it from my computer instead? -- I have a PC but have been unable to find the 'book' or photos in iTunes or elsewhere on the computer to even try this...
    Thanks for any help!

Things I've tried/confirmed so far:  I have the up to date versions of iOS and iPhoto, I have it connected to wi-fi and plugged in, I have closed down all other apps on the iPad
You have covered most issues, but you do not mention how much free memory you are having on your iPad. Submitting a book for printing need plenty of free memory on your iPad, about the same amount as the combined size of your photos. Could it be, that you are running out of memory?
Another reason might be an unprintable, corrupted photo in your book.
Is there a way to upload it from my computer instead? -- I have a PC but have been unable to find the 'book' or photos in iTunes or elsewhere on the computer to even try this...
To order a photo book from Apple you need an Apple computer or an iOS device.
To transfer the photos to your PC see:

  • Upload freezes when trying to order an iPhoto book

I've seen that many people have had this problem. I'm trying to order a large (not XL) iPhoto book using my 2012 MacBook Pro. After I click "Buy Book" and enter payment information, the assembly goes well, but it freeezes halfway through the upload every time. I can and have made a pdf of the book following Apple's instructions, and everything worked just fine with that. In other forums, the suggestion is to reboot the computer in safe mode. Is this suggestion only for people who couldn't create a pdf of the book? How will this help with the upload?

ErinWyoming, I'm sharing your pain. I've ordered 3 calendars in the past with no problem. Even using this computer and the same network. Currently on a MacBook Air running OSX 10.8.5.
But this order is driving me nuts. I can create the PDF and it assembles with no problem, but gets to either one of 2 points in the upload and basically freezes iPhoto (so freezes quite early on in the upload, or around half way through). I can't cancel the order, or otherwise use iPhoto and the only way to escape is to Force Quit iPhoto.
I've tried ordering in safe mode, I've tried deleting the com.apple.iPhoto.plist file as instructed elsewhere. I've tried different Apple ID's and different addresses. I've adjusted my energy settings so that the display and computer never go to sleep and my hard disk won't go to sleep. I've tried uploading at different times of the day. I've left it running overnight (just in case I'm not being patient enough). Alas, no order goes through.
I'm not sure what else to try. I'm getting to the end of my tether!! Anyone else got some suggestions?! I'm thinking (God forbid), of constructing the calendar elsewhere at this point .... I'm OVER it!!!!

  • Why am I unable to upload an iPhoto book to the store?

I have created an iPhoto book and have been unable to get it to upload to the store. It assembles fine but an error message appears once it starts to upload.
    I am working on a 27" iMac with a 3.06 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 12 GB 1067 MHz DDR3, Lion 10.7.4.
I have taken the following steps to try correcting the problem. Verify Disk, Repair perrmissions and the entire sequence in iPhoto Library Repair.
This is the first book to give me a problem.

I am telling you, I know this from experience. Unless you have made the photo book with one of the fonts in the /System/Library/Fonts folder ( which are the only ones that Safe Mode does not disable ), the font on the book will change. The fonts are the likes of Helvetica and such, so that is not likely.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1564
Like you said, of course you always preview before purchasing. That's what I did, and the pdf looked exactly right. But the books I received had the wrong font, which I could maybe otherwise live with, but the changed font also meant that the texts were cut off in the middle on some pages. So the books are unusable.
Of course this begs the question, since the pdf looked right, is it possible that the problem wasn't caused by Safe Mode but was a simple production error on Apple's end?
This does not make sense, since Apple Support clearly states that Safe Mode disables fonts.
