Iphoto Calendar. Colour change on activities, birthdays etc.

I imported calendars from iCal. Such as Work Cal, Birthdays, Home Cal.
All activites and birthdays came in red. How can i change colour in ex. Work Cal to black?
I can ofcourse do it manually on each day. But that would take way to long time since
i got "activites, plans" on each day in the calendar.
Any tips?

You can't.  However, you can try hacking the database file to change the font color to black as jdelisle did for changing the font size in this topic: HT4258 Altering text font size in a...: Apple Support Communities. I would make a backup copy of your iPhoto application and library before attempting it.
You can send a feature request to Apple via http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphoto.html for future calendars.

  • Calendar colours changing themselves

I've been using iCal on Macbook Air syncing the Calendar over iCloud to both iPad2 and iPhone5 for about a month.
I have two calendars - one was in Green and the other Orange (these were the default colours from when the devices were first used and I was happy with them so left the colours alone).
Two days ago the Green calendar started changing itself to Blue and the Orange one started changing itself to Purple.  If I change the colours back to my desired Green and Orange (and I've tried doing it on all three devices) then they just keep changing themselves (on all three devices) to the undesired Blue and Purple.
Both the MBA and iPhone5 are one month old, and software is up to date on all three.
I'm aware of another (old) thread concerning colours and subscribed calendars, but these are not subscribed calendars.

    Me too.
I have iPhone5 (less then 3 months old) running 5 calenders (each with a different colour).
    All are iCloud enabled.
All are subscribed to by a MacPro (Lion) and an iPhone4.
1 calender is subscribed to by a iMac (early silver casing runing Lion).
In the past few days, calendar colours on the iPhone5 & then the others) keep self-changing.  If you change them back, they self-change again.
All softrware is up to date.
This definitely was not a problem until a few days ago.
Help !  Apple sort this out - it is driving us mad.

  • HT4910 ios 7 Calendar Colours Changing

Help! Since I moved up to ios 7.0.2 my calendars (on ipad mini, iphone 4 and icloud on PC) keep changing willfully. When I edit to change them back, it appears to work then they revert again. I use colour coding to know where I should be and when so this is extremely problematic for me. I have searched all over but cannot find any information addressing this.

    Hi Breqpur,
If you look to the right of this thread you will see "More Like This". You are not alone. Folks who have contacted Apple have indicated that Apple is aware of this problem, and it is related to some iCloud updating they are doing. It is supposed to be fixed any time now....
Hope that at least sets your mind at ease (a bit....)

  • Calendar colour changes

My work calemdar suddenly changed from Green To Purple which clases with onother canendar. Unable to get it back. This seems to be a problem for many people. Any answers??

    Open the Calendar app
    Tap Calendars (bottom menu)
Tap the ! icon (right of specific calendar)
Tap the color you wish to use
    Tap done
In some cases, the calendar color is determined by the source if it is a subscribed or online calendar (Google for example).

  • HT2513 Calendar colours changing randomly.... fix ??

    Please help !!!

    Ok then........ solution.
Export the calendars that are affected, (not all of mine were), to the desktop. Then delete the calendar. Create a new calendar with the original name and then import the saved, desktop calendar to it. Repeat this for all the affected calendars. I did this three days ago and it seems to have solved the problem and is stable.
    Good Luck !!!

  • I'm not able to create a iphoto calendar with the correct birthday entries.

    Hello,
I use the latest Iphoto version and OS X 10.9.
I tried to create a calendar in iphoto that includes all birthday information of my family. Unfortunately I'm not able to do this.
I tried two differnt ways to get the information into the calendar.
First of all I' tried to use the option of the calendar to get the information of my contacts and it partly worked. Some dates were missing and I was not able to modify or add additional birthdays in the calendar. I checked my contacts and the information was there but not shown in the Iphoto Calendar.
Therefore I have to get the information into the calendar in a different way. For that I created a new calendar in ICal and created for each Birthday entries.
I select the option in the Iphoto calendar to show the new calendar in iPhoto. But the result was worse than with the first solution. Only few entries was shown in the calender.
Do anybody have an idea how can I solve this issue.
    Thank you in advanced,
    Philipp

First of all I' tried to use the option of the calendar to get the information of my contacts and it partly worked. Some dates were missing and I was not able to modify or add additional birthdays in the calendar. I checked my contacts and the information was there but not shown in the Iphoto Calendar.
Do the birthdays (from Contacts) show correctly in the Calendar app? Sometimes there is a formatting problem with the date string in the Contacts. If the Birthdays do not show correctly in the Calendar.app, try to delete them from Contacs and enter them again, and check, if they now are showing correctly in Calendar. Quit both Contacts and Calendar.
Then restart iPhoto, and in the "Settings" for your Photo Calendar disable the Birthdays option, and then turn it on again.
Any changes you do to the birthdays in Contacts may only appear in iPhoto Calendars after Calendar or Contacts wrote their databases, and iPhoto will read these databases, when you enable the "Birthdays" option. Toggling this option on and off will ensure, that the new Contacs info will be read.

Hello Schimi. The Time Capsule is a kind of product that offer you two possibility:
    - To use the TC as a router or as an external HD.
The difference between WPA and WPA 2 are:
    - They are two kinds of internet connection.
WPA uses dynamic key encryption , which means that the key is constantly changing and makes the invasion of a wireless network more difficult than WEP . WPA is considered one of the highest levels of wireless security for your network and is recommended if your devices support this kind of encryption . Newer routers offer WPA2 security . WPA2 is compatible with WPA , but offers higher security level . In fact, it meets the high standards of many government agencies . If the router and computer support WPA2 , this should be your choice.
If you need any help or if you find some difficult setting up it you can contact Apple Support.
I am sure that they can help you with that.
I am sory for the delay. I holpe that you solve your issue.

  • Create Calendar Event? (e.g. Birthday etc...) without showing on Month view

Calendar works great love the new look, One gripe.
I have a number of "All Day Events" in Outlook / on my Z10 like birthdays Anniversary's etc...
They are currently setup as All Day Events and my time shows Free under them, so no problem with conflicting events.
I use the month view as default to get a very quick overview of my week.
If I have a trade show to attend, its usually apparent by the solid line that would take up the whole day instead of just an hour or two event.
The problem is that Birthday's and such show up the same way (solid line for the whole day)
Last week there was a few birthdays and one show, although I can't tell the difference between them on the Calendar.
Is there a way to setup the calendar or my events differently so that the All day events that I show as free time are in a different colour (like grey when there is an all day event and actual meetings. then it shows different)
Should I be adding these types of events or reminders of birthdays etc.. differently in outlook / on the phone...
    any help would be great.
What about an icon on the month view (like the +2 icon on the week / day view) that lets you know you have an all day event reminder on that day, but not showing the line for the whole day.
Any thoughts on how to get around this?

This is becoming a monologue. I gave PathFinder a try. I like it a lot. In fact, it is even more powerful in terms of file browsing compared to RAGE Mac Explorer. In particular I get much more detailed "GetInfo" info from PathFinder. It basically returns metadata similar to Preview Info. And you can get these (e.g. sampling rate) from: 1) last Preview column in Column view, 2) GetInfo, 3) Inspector-like permanent preview pane at the bottom of List view, and 4) File Report. You can also show a short "preview" string for each file in List view (similar to the string shown in Finder's icon view).
But... I still can't find a way to add metadata I care about to columns in PathFinder, the way you can in Windows Explorer.
So, I figure my last resort is to create some folder automation to gather info about each file according to its file type, and modify Spotlight Comment for each file. At least in the Finder I can show the Comment field. But oddly, neither PathFinder nor RAGE Mac Explorer lets me show the Comment field.
    Sigh.

  • Shared iCloud calendar colour keeps changing

I haven't had this problem for a while, but this week my the calendar my wife shares with me in iCloud keeps changing colour.
I am running iOS 6.1.3 and we have had the shared calendars set up for ages. Now no matter what i do her calander displays as blue, even though it is yellow when i log into iCloud on the web.
When I change to colour to purple on either my iPad or iPhone the colour changes on the web iCloud calendar but displays as blue in iCal on my mac, and in iCal on both my iPad and iPhone.
I haven't added any other new calendars or accounts recently, so I have no idea why this is happening (again)
Anyone else having this problem and/or found a solution?

I started having this problem in late June. Both the names and colours for some of my shared calendars suddenly changed to the names and colours used by the calendar owners (instead of the names and colours that I have assigned to them). This had worked just fine ever since shared calendars became available until June, 2013. My Mom and my sister are having the same problem.
I reported the problem to Apple support on July 3, and they ran through some troubleshooting with me. The names and colours are correct on the calendar app in Mountain Lion as well as iCloud.com through Safari on my Mac. However, when the calendar syncs to any iOS device, the namea and colours on SOME of the shared calendars change. This even occurs when setting up a brand new iPad for the first time.
If I change the name and colour on either my iPhone or iPad, the change seems to sync back to iCloud, but, just a few seconds later, the calendar app on iOS begins syncing again and the names and colours change back.
I spoke to two levels of support at Apple who were not able to resolve the problem. The second rep said the problem needed to be forwarded to an Apple engineer for investigation. It's now been over a month, and there has still been no response from their engineers. I've contacted Apple twice for an update, and they said the engineers still have not replied.

  • IPhoto Calendars, how to change white days to black

I'm not new to iPhoto or calendar making.  In fact, I've created calendars each year with iPhoto since 2010.  But this year I've chosen a calendar that has a light gray background, showing most days as Black and special days as White.  When I created the calendar I chose to show Birthdays and import those from my Contacts.  Except for some duplicated enteries on the same day, that birthday import went well.  But since I will be preparing this calendar for my parents, I do not want to put some of my friends birthdays on the calendar.  As such, I've gone through the calendar and deleted out those birthdays.  The problem is that those days are marked in White originally because they are birthdays, and even after I delete out the birthday info, the day remains white.  I double-click on it, but I cannot edit the day.  So how do I revert that White to Black?
Here's an example calendar that is styled like mine: http://tinyurl.com/mmsm3gj
Note in that example that the special day is the 8th, shown in White.  What I am saying is that I want to delete the text under that special day, and then have that day no longer be special.  In other words, I want to revert that white 8 back to a black 8.  How do I do it?
    Thank you.

  • Change iPhoto calendar project from English to French

I am trying to figure out if you can make iphoto calendars with french text.  My iphoto program is in engllish, but I would like to make a calendar with french text.  Is there a way to change the language for the months and days?

You have to change it system wide not just iPhoto. Take a look into System Preferences > Language & Text.

  • Importing Birthdays into iPhoto Calendar project

Is it possible to import birthdays from a group in address book rather than every birthday I have in there. I'm making multiple calendars for different people and I don't want every birthday in every calendar. I also don't want to have to go through and delete all the unwanted birthdays. Is there an easy or automated way to do this? Thanks.

Just wanted to add that I have the EXACT same question! I'm making a calendar for a family I know, but they are only a subset of all my contacts. I've made a group for them and expected iPhoto to be able to import birthdays for only a specific group, but alas there was no apparent option for that. Please help soon!

  • ICal Calendar Colors Changing On Their Own; iCloud Connection

    AGGRAVATING PROBLEM:
Many in this forum have written recently about a problem ongoing for people with multiple iCal calendars where iCal calendar colors change "automatically" when you haven't selected those colors, or even "change back" before your eyes to some color your DIDN'T select after you select a new one.  If you log into iCloud on the Web and try to change the color of certain calendars, they refuse to change.  Try as you might, the color you want for your calendar won't "stick" and it is forced to be the wrong color on all your devices.  In some cases, even the names of some of the calendars cannot be changed.  On other calendars in your list, the colors and names will change fine.
Related symptoms:  Calendars you have deleted "come back."   Or, calendars you did not create yourself show up in your calendars list, such as "Calendar" or "Home" or even "Untitled."  Note that the problem seems to be most prevalent with calendars with names "Home," "Work," OR either of these words in the NAME of the calendar.  For instance, "Bob's Work" might get snagged (it can't be deleted without coming back or its color is stuck and "comes back").
I spent a long time on the phone with a helpful Apple senior advanced specialist on this problem today.  We conducted a very large number of "experiments". Our family has two iPads, 2 iPhones, and 2 iMacs, so it was easy to rule things in or out.  I will present some information that may help.
SOME OF WHAT APPEARS TO BE GOING ON:
First, Apple has not resolved this.  But the problem appears to be related to iCloud, and NOT to individual devices.  After de-linking all of my individual devices from iCloud, I could change any of the colors or names at will on any given device, create new calendars and then change their colors to whatever I wish, delete calendars, change names...no problem.  However, after re-linking calendars to iCloud, all the problems mentioned above returned.  The chances that my iMacs, iPhones, and iPads are all causing the problem independently is very low. They also have slightly different OS versions on them, so it is not likely an a particular device OS, though that could be indirectly related.  Also, the colors "change back" within about the same time (usually a few seconds to up to 30 seconds) that it takes to do a "refresh" (i.e. an update) to the iCloud servers.  This when iCloud is turned on, and the absence of it when iCloud is turned off (for calendars), strongly suggests that it is the iCloud server and its interaction with your devices that the fundamental cause of the problem.
Apple has said that they are aware of this problem and their engineers are working on a fix.  Historically, this can mean just a few days, or it could be a few months, years, or "whenever."  They don't give estimates of when it will be fixed.  Exactly WHY this is happening is unclear, but my guess is that it is a modification to the iCloud server code that Apple implemented without testing it thoroughly enough to discover this problem.  Apple does not admit to that, of course and I don't know if I am correct.
A WORKAROUND SOLUTION THAT WORKED FOR ME:
Please note this is a workaround and not a full fix.  Apple needs to run a patch on their iCloud server code.  Until then, I did the following which seems to have worked for me for now.  Read the whole list before deciding whether to proceed.  I don't guarantee it will work in all situations.
Note...I found I was stuck for now with the color of ONE of my calendars.  If you are like me, you want to keep that one and work around it....
Backup first... Make sure that your iCloud copy of your calendar data has the calendar event information you want to save - even if the color is wrong.  Log in at www.icloud.com and do a refresh to sync to the Cloud.  Check over your calendars online to make sure the event data appears to be there for all of your calendars (even if their color or name is not what you want).
    Steps:
    1.     Go to every device that you have linked to iCloud separately. Go into Settings, iCloud, and then uncheck the "Calendars" option.  This delinks your calendars for that device to iCloud.  As you do this on each device, when prompted, select "Keep On My" ..iPAD...iPhone...iMac... etc.  This will preserve the calendar information on the device so it won't be deleted.  I think this is safer, but you can click on "Delete" if you want, too.  Note - if one of your devices is an iMac, with OSX Lion and before, you may be forced (I was) to delete the iCloud calendars from the iMac.  So again, make sure they are backed up to the Cloud first (or somewhere else).
    3.     With the iCloud Calendars Option on all your devices still turned off, go to the WEB and log into iCloud.com.  You need to figure our which calendar iCloud won't let you change the color for.  You probably already know.  On iCloud.com, click on "Calendars," then click open your calendar list and select "EDIT" at the bottom of the dialog box.  One at a time, click on the color dots next to each calendar name and try to change the color (you can put any back after the test if you want). You will probably see a certain one that just goes right back to what you don't want.  This is the one for which the color is stuck, but you may be able to change the name of it now that your devices are unlinked from iCloud.
    4.     Still in iCloud.com, change the names and colors of any of the other calendars you wish to change.  Delete any empty calendars that mysteriously appeared without your wanting them.  Take note of all the calendars, names, and colors that are on the final list of calendars.
    5.     On EVERY device, BEFORE turning iCloud back on on ANY of them: Change the colors and/or names of calendars, delete calendars, etc. so that the calendar names and colors on the device are exactly the same as what you left in iCloud.com in the last step.
    6.   One at a time on each device, go back to Settings and then "iCloud" and check again the box for "Calendars."  You will be asked whether you want to "MERGE" your data with iCloud.  I selected MERGE to ensure I didn't lose anything.  Link each device again into iCloud one at a time.
    7.  When each device is back, go back to iCloud on the Web, or go into iCAL on one of your devices.  Set to view ALL calendars.  Look for duplicates of some of your events.  I found quite several as an artifact of "merging", but in my case it only took me about 5 minutes to go through quickly and delete the duplicates.  It deleted the duplicates on all of the devices at once, so I only needed to delete dups on one device.  I did not find that I lost any events as long as I kept one valid copy.
Again, no guarantees...hope this works for others.  Good luck.

I'm getting the same thing and it's really bugging me! Keeps changing colour to one I do not want and I have tried everything to get it to stay the colour I have chosen!!
