IPhoto calendar ordering problems

Hi all,
I have been having serious problems ordering an iPhoto calendar.
First, I ordered it on Monday using express shipping, such that it should have arrived by Friday, and instead on Friday I got a cryptic email saying "Apple is unable to process your order and you will not be charged. We recommend updating your software, previewing your print product in iPhoto or Aperture, and placing the order again." (My iPhoto is fully updated and I've ordered calendars before with no problem.) I spent about 30 very frustrating minutes on the phone with Apple (worst customer service experience I've had with them) trying to get an explanation, but got none, and ultimately they told me I should re-place it and they'd give me free overnight shipping when they saw my order (nice enough...).
I'm now trying to re-order and am repeatedly getting the message "Your credit card information could not be verified at this time," no matter the card I use. Has anyone had either of these problems? Any advice? I am loathe to get on the phone with Apple again given the number of times it took to even reach someone who knew anything about print products.
I'm at the point of dropping Apple's print products entirely and going with another provider in the future. The ease of using iPhoto to make calendars is totally outweighed by this ordering and shipping ridiculousness...
Thanks for any suggestions!

Jianming:
Welcome to the Apple Discussions. Contact Apple via this link: http://www.apple.com/support/iphoto/customerservice/calendars/. Lay out the problem in detail and submit. You should hear back from them in 1-2 days.
Also log into your account thru the Store button at the top and then the Youre Account on that page, as opposed thru iPhoto, and see if you can confirm your account that way without an error.
Do you Twango?

  • IPhoto Calendar - download problems

Have tried 4 times to send completed iPhoto Calendar for printing. Each time it is rejected with following error message :
'Unreadable PDF file or image files. Files are sometimes assembled incorrectly due to CMYK or Grayscale color space. Use the RGB color space for best results. '
Can anyone please explain what this means and more importantly what I now have to do ?
    Many thanks.

    What version of iPhoto?
    As a Test:
Hold down the option (or alt) key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Create Library'
Import a few pics into this new, blank library. Is the Problem repeated there?
    Post back with the result.

I have done everything possible from deleting photos, trying EVERY theme, deleting maps, background photos. I have corresponded by email with the Apple help, and I have spent about an hour at the Genius Bar at Apple to see if anyone can solve my problem. Everyone has comeback with "we don't know"
I work with a MacBook Pro Mac OS X 10.6.4, have plenty of memory, all software is up to date.
I am just about to reinitialise my hard disk, install iLife 11 and make the book again, as I can see no other way to try to get this book ordered. Hopefully, oh every so hopefully this will solve my problem.

Since yesterday there have been many reports from all over the world of people unable to buy a book or any print products from Apple.
Apple has to fix this on the servers.

  • How To Prepare Images For iPhoto Calendar Order...

I am getting ready to order a calendar through iPhoto '09 and try as I might I have been unable to find the directions on their website as to the specs they want followed in prepping the images. I know I found them last year but I can't find them this year. Does someone know what the color space, pixel dimensions, etc. Apple wants for a calendar. Better yet, do you know where on earth they have this info hidden?
    Thanks!

Sometimes I wonder if I should have majored in abstract math concepts instead of journalism. Taking photos today involves far more math than in the good ole days of film. A fine art photographer colleague of mine used to teach Physics at Bates College and when I told him I envied him for his background he asked me why. When I responded by saying that it would allow him to understand digital photography. He laughed and said, " I've got news for you ole friend this stuff is every bit as confusing to me as it is to you. Oh well, I'm old and won't have suffer too much longer I guess.
    Thanks!

  • Calendar order problem

I have been trying unsuccessfully to order a calendar that I created in iPhoto. It seems to get hung up during the uploading process. After lengthy waits, I get a generic error message that tells me to cancel or try again.
I have restarted the computer, and even reconstructed the calendar completely. Also, when this didn't work in Mountain Lion, I went ahead and upgraded to Mavericks and upgraded iPhoto. Still no luck. Any ideas how I can make this work??

Have you previewed the calendar, to check, if it can be processed?

If the preview is o.k., try to order your calendar while booted into Safe Mode, see:

  • IPhoto sort order problem

After install of 4.2 IPhoto only syncs in date order on Ipad. Will not sort in alphabetic order despite trying numerous times.

I found a solution for the events remaining in the same order as in iphoto 9.1.1. After leaving the events in the order you want in iPhoto, edited the date and time information (exif file) of the first picture of each event. For example, I have ordered several events manually in iPhoto. I got in first and put the first photo of the first event to date 01/01/1958 12:00:00 by Pictures menu> Adjust Date and Time. In the second event to repeat the same process, and changed the date for the first photo to 01/01/1959 12:00:00. And so adding one year to each event to the last. After this change, re-syncronize all events with iphone4 and events were in the same order that had set in iphoto 9.1.1. This is because the iphone4 with IOS 4.2.1 uses the information contained in the EXIF photo files and sort by this information. I hope helped with this tip, which worked for me. When I add a new event, I have to sync your entire library again.

  • Ordered Iphoto calendar. One picture is blurred and bad. Can I get a new calendar?

Ordered an iphoto calendar for 2015. One picture is blurred and bad. Can I get a new calendar? To whom do I report this problem?
    Joan

Maybe - did you preview the calendar -
Before ordering your calendar preview it using this method - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1040 - and save the resulting PDF for reference - the delivered calendar will match it.
What is the printed size of the image and what are it's pixel dimensions - it need to be no less than 150 DPI for a good, clear print
You can contact Apple at the address included in your  order confirmation email and see what they will do - but if the picture is too small reprinting will not help

Just got off the phone with apple support.  If the photo book completes the assembly process but fails during the upload process the problem is in their overloaded servers. They just started a free shipping promotion for the holidays which has increased the traffic dramatically. I bought a calendar a week ago and it went right through. I'm going to try again during less peak times.

  • Att: Apple Customer Service representatives - iPhoto order problem

    Hi,
I've had the following problem using the iPhoto book ordering system:
Last week, I decided to make a photo book in iPhoto and buy several copies of it to use as christmas gifts. I bought the most recent version of iPhoto from the App Store even though I had an earlier version installed, just to ensure reliability and the most up-to-date features. After this, I made my book and on wednesday evening, tried to order it several times, with iPhoto telling me my order couldn't be completed.
On thursday morning, I tried once again ordering the book, and this time, iPhoto tried to upload my book. In the end, iPhoto gave me a message worded something like "Your order could not be completed. Try again at another time". So I waited a bit and tried again, and I got the same error message.
Later in the morning, however, I was sent 2 order confirmations from the Apple Store, both for 5 books. I only need 5 in total, so I tried cancelling the last order, but the order website said that I could not cancel the order as it was being processed - this was only some 15 minutes after me receiving the order confirmation. I tried phoning Apple in Denmark, and their phone pointed me to the iPhoto website, which had no relevant information whatsoever. I tried finding information on the web and responding to the order email. No help here either, the email was bounced, and I could not find anybody else who had experienced this problem. I decided I would cancel the payment for the last order with my bank and return the 5 extra books.
In the days since thursday, the payment didn't show up in my bank statement, and thus, I was beginning to think that maybe my order confirmation email was an error on Apples part, and my order wasn't completed after all. However, the delivery man came to our house today, and my girlfriend signed for both packages (she didn't know why there was two packages). I will be keeping five of them, and you can have the last five books back - I will be cancelling the payment for those when it shows up in my bank statement. After all, I would have never ordered them if your system had worked and given me the correct message after the first order had gone through.
Please contact me by email in order to arrange the pickup of the surplus books.
    Kind regards,
    Christian

You could try contacting Apple through Express Lane. Click on Mac & Software > iLife > iPhoto. Good luck

  • Allow others to order iPhoto calendar via Apple Photos Services (or other)

I thought I saw this option somewhere, but I have an iPhoto calendar that I've printed through Apple Photo Services for myself. I now want to make that cal available for others to print without having to be involved in placing the order for them. Is that possible? Ideally, they would not even need a .mac account, but could order as a guest. If Apple does not offer this service, does anyone know of a short-run printer that will take the PDF and make a cal of it? Fed Ex/Kinko's does not have a lot of info on their site for that kind of thing. I will call them shortly.
    Thanks.

Thanks Terence. I assume the file is stored on the Apple server for 4 weeks (in which time it is removed), so I'm unclear why they can't assign it a unique number and allow me to send that number to my mom who can use it to order the cal. That does not seem impossible to me and could help Apple make more money on prints.

  • IPhoto 9.6 doesn't complete calendar order neither book order

    good morning :-)
I am trying to order a calendar and a footbook for more or less 3 days.
Neither the calendar order nor the footbook order can be completed.
I wait for about 10 hours but the uploading is not completing. Its only uploading 3-5% and thats it....nothing happens.
    Can anybody help me ?
I have alrdy tried to restart iphoto, my imac, searched for software updates but nothing changed.....

Have you enabled "Express Checkout" at the Apple Store?
If you have not already done so, check your account settings directly from the apple Store page and not from iPhoto and then try again.
You can open the Apple Store page directly from the top of this page:
On the page that will open, go to "View Account".
On the next page, check your account settings, and change the settings for "Express Checkout".

I created an iPhoto Calendar and an iPhoto book. Now I'd like to order them together (one order, one postage). How can I do that?

Of course - that is exactlhy why i told you that you can not because it is not a feature of iPhoto
You can not order different products in a single order. Period. exactly!

Make sure that any B/W photos in the book have the RGB color profile rather than the grayscale color mode. You can check it by opening one of the B/W photos in Preview and typing Command-i. In the Info window check the color model. If it's gray go to the Tools->Match to Profile menu and select RGB Color Model and sRGB IEC61966-2.1 ColorSync Profile. Then save the image.
If you have a lot of them to convert you can batch convert them outside of iPhoto with the Embed sRGB profile-As.app that you can download from Toad's Cellar.
    Do you Twango?
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 08 libraries and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.
