  • IPhoto calendar_how to print duplex

Just wondering how to set up iPhoto calendar to print on both sides of the page.
If the calendar is designed in landscape mode, then as you open it up, one landscape page flips up, which has the photos on it, and the other page, just below, will have the dates on it. So do you have to save it as a PDF file and print all the even pages then add them back to your printer and then print all the odd pages on the back. Sorry, I know this sounds convoluted.
    Thank for any helpl

I am sorry, but to get your issue more exposure I would suggest posting it in the commercial forums since this is a commercial printer. You can do this at http://h30499.www3.hp.com/hpeb/

  • IPhoto Calendar - download problems

Have tried 4 times to send completed iPhoto Calendar for printing. Each time it is rejected with following error message :
'Unreadable PDF file or image files. Files are sometimes assembled incorrectly due to CMYK or Grayscale color space. Use the RGB color space for best results. '
Can anyone please explain what this means and more importantly what I now have to do ?
    Many thanks.

    What version of iPhoto?
    As a Test:
Hold down the option (or alt) key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Create Library'
Import a few pics into this new, blank library. Is the Problem repeated there?
    Post back with the result.

Make sure that any B/W photos in the book have the RGB color profile rather than the grayscale color mode. You can check it by opening one of the B/W photos in Preview and typing Command-i. In the Info window check the color model. If it's gray go to the Tools->Match to Profile menu and select RGB Color Model and sRGB IEC61966-2.1 ColorSync Profile. Then save the image.
If you have a lot of them to convert you can batch convert them outside of iPhoto with the Embed sRGB profile-As.app that you can download from Toad's Cellar.

TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 08 libraries and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

  • IPhoto 9.6.1 with Yosemite Printing Issues

iPhoto 9.6.1 with Yosemite was supposed to fix a printing bug that would hang-up a Mac but it actually caused my to start having printing issues (beachball of death).  I have tried permission repair and rebuilding the database but that did not work.  I did the 9.6.1 update on 20 March 2015.  That is when all my printing issues started.  I have to resort to putting my pictures on the desktop and printing from the preview app.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Try fix the main library:
    Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Repair Database. If that doesn't help, then try again, this time using Rebuild Database.
    If that fails:
    Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In early versions of Library Manager it's the File -> Rebuild command. In later versions it's under the Library menu.)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

  • IPhoto 6 printing issue!

How do I print four 6x4 prints on an A4 photo paper? not the same photo four times but different prints!
I tried all available methods, but no joy.
This is the first time I used iPhoto for printing.
I normally use my PC with Epson printer software and with that you can print your photo at any given point on the paper. I am sure it will be possible with iPhoto as well. I shall be grateful for help.
    Shafiq

Dear Sir, your answer was indeed helpful and I did not want to be churlish to say otherwise. However, it was my fault that I did not pose the question in clear terms.
The question really was the ability of the iphoto 6 to print different photos on one A4 size, well within the physical limits of the paper.I have not found a way to print different photos to cover the surface of the same A4 surface. As using other software e.g. Epson you can decide the place on the paper where you would like to print the photo.
    Is it possible with iPhoto?

  • Iphoto calendar layout issue

Hello. Does anyone know how to change the front cover layout in iPhoto calendar?  It won't let me change from a portrait photo to a full cover image.  When I click layout options, the only option I'm given is to change the background colour.  Many thanks.

What version of iPhoto are you using and what calendar theme?

  • IPhoto Calendar - Charged import Tax by Customs!

Purchased a Calendar before Christmas through iPhoto using the built in templates and service. Paid and received the calendar no problem.
However this week I have received an overdue payment invoice from FedEx, claiming there are unpaid import taxes on the Calendar I received from Apple.
I am based in the UK and checked my invoices from apple, which clearly shows I have paid the 15% VAT required in this country.
Anyone else experience an issue like this? If so whats the quickest and easiest way of sorting this without having to initially pay the amount due?
    Many thanks.

    Thanks TD,
Well just to keep this thread updated for anyone who maybe following it or have similar issues in future. Update so far:
Contacted FedEx, they can not help in this issue as it does not matter where the item(s) were printed (EU country or US). The parcel was collected by FedEx in the US and apparently shipped to the UK, thus as far as they are concerned, import duty is still outstanding on it.
Contacted Apple, no response as yet!!
All seems a little odd, as these calendars are printed in a EU country, so why they would then need to be shipped to the US to get sent to the UK seems a little odd.
FedEx did mention they have had a lot of these invoice issues with Apple!!

  • IPhoto Calendar import

My iCal calendars are suddenly not available at all to import into a Calendar i'm creating in iPhoto. I had imported my Birthday calendar, then took them out to adjust them in iCal, but when I went back into iPhoto, none of my calendars are available. I have several:  personal, work, etc. which have all shown available in the past.
I have closed out, rebooted, etc. but no luck. Just a blank box where my available calendars should be. What am I missing?

    Thanks TD,

  • IPhoto will not print a photo on Epson DX7450

I have a client who has a new iMac that originally ran Tiger and printed photos in iPhoto '08 using an Epson DX7450 multi function printer - all was just fine. Recently, they upgraded to Leopard and now running 10.5.5; sadly now photos in iPhoto will not print - other programs are not affected, just iPhoto. The Epson has the latest drivers and Epson suggest that the issue lies with iPhoto. Any suggestions welcome please. They do not want to use a different photo library application!

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. First try the easy fix: close iPhoto, delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your User/Library/Preferences folder, launch iPhoto and see if that helps.
Next, if necessary, log into another account on the Mac, create a new library if necessary, import a picture and see if you can print from there. If not then a reinstall of iPhoto seems warranted. In that case you'll have to delete the current application and all files with "iPhoto" in the file name that reside in the HD/Library/Receipts folder.
If iPhoto prints OK in the other account then the problem is with your primary account. It could be a preference file other than iPhoto's. Here's how to determine if that's the case:
    Trouble Shooting Preferences in Leopard
1 - Create a folder titled "Preferences A" on the Desktop.
2 - Open the working Preferences folder, HD/Users/your_name/Library/Preferences, and move the contents to the Preferences A folder on the Desktop.
3 - Make a duplicate copy of the Preferences A folder on the Desktop as a precautionary backup.
4 - With the working Preferences folder empty run the application again and determine if the problems is fixed.
NOTE: you may have to drag the contents of the working folder to the trash and empty if moving the contents to the A folder only copies them instead of moving.
5 - If the problem is fixed:
A - open the working Preferences folder (HD/Users/your_name/Library/Preferences).
B - Open the Preferences A folder on the Desktop, select all of the contents and drag them into the working Preferences folder.
C - When the Copy window pops up check the "Apply to All" check box and then click on the Don't Replace button as seen here.
6 - If the problem is NOT fixed, empty the working Preferencess folder and move the contents of the Preferences folder on the desktop back into it.
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier) database file and keep it current.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger or later), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 6 and 7 libraries and Tiger and Leopard. Just put the application in the Dock and click on it whenever you want to backup the dB file. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.
Note: There's now an Automator backup application for iPhoto 5 that will work with Tiger or Leopard.

  • I'm not able to create a iphoto calendar with the correct birthday entries.

    Hello,
I use the latest Iphoto version and OS X 10.9.
I tried to create a calendar in iphoto that includes all birthday information of my family. Unfortunately I'm not able to do this.
I tried two differnt ways to get the information into the calendar.
First of all I' tried to use the option of the calendar to get the information of my contacts and it partly worked. Some dates were missing and I was not able to modify or add additional birthdays in the calendar. I checked my contacts and the information was there but not shown in the Iphoto Calendar.
Therefore I have to get the information into the calendar in a different way. For that I created a new calendar in ICal and created for each Birthday entries.
I select the option in the Iphoto calendar to show the new calendar in iPhoto. But the result was worse than with the first solution. Only few entries was shown in the calender.
Do anybody have an idea how can I solve this issue.
    Thank you in advanced,
    Philipp

Some dates were missing and I was not able to modify or add additional birthdays in the calendar. I checked my contacts and the information was there but not shown in the Iphoto Calendar.
Do the birthdays (from Contacts) show correctly in the Calendar app? Sometimes there is a formatting problem with the date string in the Contacts. If the Birthdays do not show correctly in the Calendar.app, try to delete them from Contacs and enter them again, and check, if they now are showing correctly in Calendar. Quit both Contacts and Calendar.
Then restart iPhoto, and in the "Settings" for your Photo Calendar disable the Birthdays option, and then turn it on again.
Any changes you do to the birthdays in Contacts may only appear in iPhoto Calendars after Calendar or Contacts wrote their databases, and iPhoto will read these databases, when you enable the "Birthdays" option. Toggling this option on and off will ensure, that the new Contacs info will be read.

  • Ordered Iphoto calendar. One picture is blurred and bad. Can I get a new calendar?

Ordered an iphoto calendar for 2015. One picture is blurred and bad. Can I get a new calendar? To whom do I report this problem?
    Joan

Maybe - did you preview the calendar -
Before ordering your calendar preview it using this method - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1040 - and save the resulting PDF for reference - the delivered calendar will match it.
What is the printed size of the image and what are it's pixel dimensions - it need to be no less than 150 DPI for a good, clear print
You can contact Apple at the address included in your  order confirmation email and see what they will do - but if the picture is too small reprinting will not help

  • Unable to upload iPhoto book to print from iPad

I have been unable to upload my iPhoto book to print it from my iPad...
It will go through the process of requesting apple ID password --> verifying my credit card --> then will say "placing order. uploading project"  and look like it is uploading (ie blue bar showing progress) and sometimes this is progressing for hours, but then the app will crash and close down.
Things I've tried/confirmed so far:  I have the up to date versions of iOS and iPhoto, I have it connected to wi-fi and plugged in, I have closed down all other apps on the iPad
Has anyone else had this issue? Any solutions?
Is there a way to upload it from my computer instead? -- I have a PC but have been unable to find the 'book' or photos in iTunes or elsewhere on the computer to even try this...
    Thanks for any help!

You have covered most issues, but you do not mention how much free memory you are having on your iPad. Submitting a book for printing need plenty of free memory on your iPad, about the same amount as the combined size of your photos. Could it be, that you are running out of memory?
Another reason might be an unprintable, corrupted photo in your book.
Is there a way to upload it from my computer instead? -- I have a PC but have been unable to find the 'book' or photos in iTunes or elsewhere on the computer to even try this...
To order a photo book from Apple you need an Apple computer or an iOS device.
To transfer the photos to your PC see:

  • All my photos in the iphoto have disappeared, not sure if this related to any iphoto upgrade or other issue, tried to find the photos through the finder (JPG or photo) but failed, can you help me to get back my photos please?

All my photos in the iphoto have disappeared, not sure if this related to any iphoto upgrade or other issue, tried to find the photos through the finder (JPG or photo) but failed, can you help me to get back my photos please?

Help us to help you: There are 9 different versions of iPhoto and they run on seven different versions of the Operating System. The tricks and tips for dealing with issues vary from version to version and OS to OS. So before anyone can help, they need information to work with. Basic stuff:
    - What version of iPhoto.
    - What version of the Operating System.
    - Details. What were you doing when the problem arose?
    - Did it ever work properly?
    - Are there error messages?
    - What steps have you tried already to solve the issue.
Anything else you can think of that might allow someone else to understand your issue.
With this kind of information somebody can develop a starting point for troubleshooting the issue.
Posts that consist of "iPhoto doesn't work. Help" or "iPhoto won't print" or "Suddenly I have no photos!!!!!!!!!!" mean that any helper is simply guessing. More information means you get better assistance. (And no, more exclamation marks do not get help faster or make your issue seem urgent. They just make it seem like you have a stuck key )

  • IPhoto calendar ordering problems

    Hi all,
I have been having serious problems ordering an iPhoto calendar.
First, I ordered it on Monday using express shipping, such that it should have arrived by Friday, and instead on Friday I got a cryptic email saying "Apple is unable to process your order and you will not be charged. We recommend updating your software, previewing your print product in iPhoto or Aperture, and placing the order again." (My iPhoto is fully updated and I've ordered calendars before with no problem.) I spent about 30 very frustrating minutes on the phone with Apple (worst customer service experience I've had with them) trying to get an explanation, but got none, and ultimately they told me I should re-place it and they'd give me free overnight shipping when they saw my order (nice enough...).
I'm now trying to re-order and am repeatedly getting the message "Your credit card information could not be verified at this time," no matter the card I use. Has anyone had either of these problems? Any advice? I am loathe to get on the phone with Apple again given the number of times it took to even reach someone who knew anything about print products.
I'm at the point of dropping Apple's print products entirely and going with another provider in the future. The ease of using iPhoto to make calendars is totally outweighed by this ordering and shipping ridiculousness...
    Thanks for any suggestions!

    Jianming:
Welcome to the Apple Discussions. Contact Apple via this link: http://www.apple.com/support/iphoto/customerservice/calendars/. Lay out the problem in detail and submit. You should hear back from them in 1-2 days.
Also log into your account thru the Store button at the top and then the Youre Account on that page, as opposed thru iPhoto, and see if you can confirm your account that way without an error.
