IPhoto can't click on on options (after OPT-CMD) startup

I am using iPhoto 9.3.2 (670.63) under Mountain Lion (10.8.1). The thumbnails are showing up wrong pictures so I do a OPT-CMD startup of iPhoto. After iPhoto pop up with the dialog box to select the "rebuild thumbnail" option, I cannot click the blue "Rebuild" button to start the process. And after then, it seems that iPhoto will not response to any mouse clicks at all.
I have this problem on both of my Notebook and iMac with same OS and iPhoto versions.
Can anybody here help me out how to fix this and rebuild all the thumbnails?

Hi, kyndall. The last free version of iPhoto was 2.0.1. iPhoto 2.0 used to be available from Apple as a free download, but no longer. To upgrade to any newer version than the one you have, you'll need to buy the iLife suite. iLife is included on the model-specific installer discs that have been shipped with new Macs since late 2003/early 2004, but not on retail OS X installer discs.
iLife '08 is the current version, and can be obtained from the online Apple Store or any Mac reseller. The older iLife '04, '05 and '06 are available used from various sources including EBay. System requirements for all four versions are here. Review them carefully to see which version(s) your iMac can handle.

If you are doing this on the iPad, try accessing your account in the app store. Tap the featured tab and you can access your ID in the lower left corner.

Can't click on certain options like log-out, that are usually located at the top of a website. They are frozen, and firefox doesn't allow me to click on them. It works fine with other browsers.

I also tried uninstalling, and installing again, but it didn't fix the problem.

Can't click anything in firefox after closing "printer error" dialogue box.

I'm trying to print an important document off the internet in Firefox. I can't try to restart Firefox without losing access to this document but after closing a "printer error" dialogue box I am unable to click anything in Firefox. I can't use "ctrl+p" to print or any of the other keyboard shortcuts. Right-clicking is also not working.
Running task manager doesn't show any tasks other than the one Firefox window and that shows up as "running" so I don't think it's a case of the dialogue box still being open.
I CAN right-click on Firefox on the status bar to open a new window (which works perfectly fine) or to open a new tab in the malfunctioning window (which is frozen as well).

I can't accessed system recovery options after the repairing process was interrupted.

although it's not my PC, i'm still concern about it (it's actually a public computer in our library). I actually tried to repair it using the system recovery options of windows 7 with thinkvantage technoliogies but i interrupt it because maybe someone will caught me and i will be mistakenly be liable. and the result is after i restared it, it restarts over and over again, with BSOD appearing for a split second. i tried to use disable autorestart on system failure feature, and i saw the BSOD. but the real issue is i can't go through the recovery options, only until the part when i'm asked to select a keyboard input method, then the next part is this message: "You must log in to access System Recovery Options. If you are having trouble logging in, please contact your computer administrator for assistance. Click OK to restart the computer." anyway, this is the BSOD says:

I hope this problem will be solved as much as possible. thank you in advance. and i also don't know what model of this Lenovo all-in-one PC is. but i think this is 3318F9U, and its i forgot its BIOS version, and i don't know how to access it. and also, i'm not sure if there's a preloaded Superfish in this all-in-one PC, maybe the vulnerability started it. because i recently read an article regarding the Superfish's vulnerability.

Iphoto can't read old library files after backup

Hi there,
after a HD-Crash, a new HD, a new System and iLife5 I thought putting back the backuped iphoto library in the new iphoto 5 library should work. It doesn’t.
Any other usual image editing program is able to open the .jpg Files (which I extracted manually from the old library folder because I didn’t know anything about an extractor) but iphoto says that the files “may be an unrecognized file type or they may not contain valid data“.
I’m talking about 8000 Pictures!
I tried to put them in manually by dragging some of them.
I tried to import them via the menu
I erased the preferences (that spotlight could find and some I remembered)
And I thought about the REV Drive I used for Backup.
I heared about permission issues...
Any Help out there?

OK, Problem solved.
Today I decided to move the Backuped Folders to some other place.
And than I decided to try again to import them by dragging (again) single jpegs into the (virtual) Library in the iphoto Window.
It worked. I was surprized because that was nothing that I haven’t try before.
BUT:
The Problem was that I did all the steps above by still having the Folders (I tried to import) in the new Library Folder.
SO:
It is right what all the other users say: DON’T DO ANYTHING MANUALY WITH THE IPHOTO LIBRARY FOLDER. NOTHING!

How can I change my database options after it's created ?

I'm using a 10 g oracle on a solaris 10 machine .I created a database and now I m willing to change the database option.I tried to use dbca but the Configuration Options checkbox is disabled.Is there any other way to change the database option ??.For instance ading the JVM support ?.

You will need to run the installation scripts....as noted in My Oracle Support (support.oracle.com)..

Lost al .pages and .numbers docs , iphoto and office programs won't open after changing: auto startup in: startup with password. all personal settings are also gone

After i changed this setting: autologin. into login with password i restarted the computer.
it started up with a blank personal surrounding. also my .pages and .numbers documents were gone, personal settings gone, iphoto won't open and office programs wo'nt open.
in finder i can find several .doc documents and i can see that all my pictures are still on the system, But i can't open them.
i was so stupid not to use time machine. But is there way to recover the system with my documents or something??
please help.

Nope, without any backup they're probably gone for good. If you want you can purchase some data recovery software such as Data Rescue. I hope this may be a lesson why it's critical to backup your system, Time Machine is a good place to start.

One thing that you can try is installing a 'fresh' version of OS X Lion. Boot into your Recovery partition (holding down the command and R keys whilst booting) and elect to install OS X from the Recovery screen. You need not erase your hard drive and you should not lose any of your data.
Oh, and just as a precaution, I would use Disk Utility, once you're in Recovery mode, to verify your hard drive before trying to install the OS again.

You can "see" the iPhoto library in Time Machine backups, but you cannot "open" the library or "browse" the contents while you are in Time Machine.
Apple makes you restore the entire iPhoto library to another destination...like your desktop....if you want to retrieve a few older images that you may have deleted by mistake.
This is a convoluted mess, but unfortunately, that is the way it is.

Later version of iPhoto write to the library on opening, and so cannot open libraries on optical media, as that cannot be written to. Further, optical media is going e way of the floppy disk. Therefore, you need to use a different form of archiving and back up going forward.
To allow iPhoto to open these libraries you need to copy them to your Mac or an attached external disk.
To merge them into an existing Library will require that you use either Aperture (if you have it) or iPhoto Library Manager.
