IPhoto can't find my iPhoto library

I went to open iPhoto and it presented me with a dialog bix that said "Which Photo Library Do I want iPhoto to Use?" The box dies not offer me a choice of any but gives me two buttons. One is to create a new one and the other is to search for Other Library. I have never moved nor have I created another library. When I search for the iPhoto Library I find two that are labled recovered 1 and recovered 2. Both are located in the Pictures floder in my Home folder. If I open the recovered folders there are only 13 items. My iPhoto library had hundreds of photos.
I have my computer backed up with time machine. I am using iPhoto 11 version 9.4.3
Am I looking in the right place? Could the library be located somewhere else?
Thanks,
Bob

Restore from TM. Launch TM and go back to a good time, select the iPhoto library and click restore

You can download CS4 here. Download CS4 products
Most comments I've seen say CS4 needs to be run in compatibility mode on Win 8.1. Windows 8.1 compatibility for Adobe Photoshop CS4 version 11
But the only way to know for sure is to try it.

  • ITunes can't find my music library. Pleas help!

I just upgraded my iTunes. Next time I tried opening it a window appeared that read: "Can't find your iTunes Library..."
I tried searching by opening start/computer/iTunes but the file that has all my music was renamed to: bd4765ae206e5a7a782a28f08509 and when I tried opening it all I found was a list of 4 files that I can't open.
I know all my music is still there because the file still uses 125 GB in my computer, but I can't seem to run iTunes or I can't seem to point iTunes into finding my music.
    Please anyone help!!!

If you did not rename that file, then I am a little worried there might be a larger problem looming (malware, etc.). If this is so, then finding the file might not even help.
I recommend restoring from a backup. If the backup was made before this file changed, then you should be fine.
If you would like to stick with what you've got, then this Apple Support article should provide you with the instructions you need: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1391

  • I created a 2nd library for my husbands music and now I can't find my original library. I did hold down the shift key to open itunes but is still comes up with the new library. What am I doing wrong? I tried several times with no luck. Thank you.

I just got an Ipod Classic recently and downloaded Itunes. Got my music on my Ipod. My husband just got an Ipod Touch. I followed the directions on how to create a 2nd library and was able to load his music onto his Ipod. My problem is now I can not find my original library. I did what the directions said about holding down the shift key while opening Itunes and it still goes to the 2nd library that I created. How do i get my original library to come up? I tried several times with the same results. Please let me know what I need to do to be able to get into either library. Thank You.

Does the original library file still exist on the computer?  Hopefully when creating the new library it was done in a seperate folder as I do not believe iTunes allows for two library files in the same location.

  • Can't find my iTunes library after transferring it from Windows to Mac

    Hi!
I've followed all the steps to transfer my iTunes library from an HP laptop with Windows XP to a MacBook Air using the Windows Migration Assistant, but when the process is finished (after waiting for more than 8 hours), I can't find where the library has been saved.
I'd be really grateful if you could tell me where I can find it or if there's a problem with my computers.
    Thanks in advance!

Migration Assistant creates a new user with the migrated data, so it probably created another user. To access to it, go to  > Log Out, and log in the new user. Then, your photos should be in Pictures folder.
If you want to merge them with the other user, you can use an external drive or the Shared folder to transfer them to the first user

  • Can't find MY iTunes library

I recently set up a separate iTunes library for my wife's music on my iMac per instructions from Apple but now can't find my music library. The guy at the Apple store gave me a very confusing solution so I hope someone can give me a clear one. It's probably very simple to find it. Thanks.

Well...if you're both going to use the same account on the Mac, I think your only option is to Option-Launch each time you need to change to the other library. There's no other way, really, for iTunes to know which library you want, so it should always open the last one that was opened.

  • Weblogic can't find jsf 2 library when installing an ear

I have an application that includes several ejb 2.0 modules along with a couple of wars and a loose file web application that uses jsf 2.0. I install the jsf library from the Weblogic 10.3.4 console and then install the ear file. During ear file installation I get a message from weblogic saying that it can't find the jsf library referenced in weblogic.xml in the loose file web application. References to the jsf library in weblogic.xml and other configuration locations are correct and complete as far as I can tell. Do I need to make a war out of the loose file web app to make this work?

    Hi,
If weblogic says that It cannot find the reference libraries which are defined on the weblogic.xml file means it is looking for the shared libraries.
Try to deploy those .jar files as library instead of application.
and then deploy your application as war mostly.

    Kal.

  • Can't find original iTunes library...

I have two iPods (both Nanos - one 6th generation and one 1st generation) and recently used method three on this page (http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1495) to create a second iTunes library for my second device. I followed directions to a tee and now can only find the new library. Any advice? Like many of you, I'm sure, my original iTunes library contains tons of paid-for downloaded songs which I would hate to lose. I wish I were more tech-savvy!!! Help!

How did you save this file? iTunes doesn't actually have a save file feature so I am not sure what you did.

  • Need to move photos to external hard drive but can't find them in library

When we bought our Mac in 2005, we moved all of our photos from our PC onto the Mac, so I had pictures dating back to 2003. All of the photos we've taken since 2005 have been imported through iPhoto and show up in the library when we open iPhoto. However, through the library, I can't see any photos prior to 2005. I know they're on the system somewhere, because our screen saver is a slide show, and photos pre-2005 show up.
    My question is twofold:
    1) Where do I find those pre-2005 photos?
    2) I am out of space on my hard drive and want to move the majority of our photos to the external hard drive, but would like to keep a year's worth of photos on the hard drive. How do I move most of them to the external drive but keep some on my hard drive?
    Thanks for any help!

Were these pre 05 pictures imported to iPhoto too?
If so then your database may be damaged:
Try these in order - from best option on down...
    1. Do you have an up-to-date back up? If so, try copy the library6.iphoto file from the back up to the iPhoto Library (Right Click -> Show Package Contents) allowing it to overwrite the damaged file.
    2. Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.
    3. If neither of these work then you'll need to create and populate a new library.
To create and populate a new *iPhoto 08* library:
Note this will give you a working library with the same Events and pictures as before, however, you will lose your albums, keywords, modified versions, books, calendars etc.
In the iPhoto Preferences -> Events Uncheck the box at 'Imported Items from the Finder'
Move the iPhoto Library to the desktop
Launch iPhoto. It will ask if you wish to create a new Library. Say Yes.
Go into the iPhoto Library (Right Click -> Show Package Contents) on your desktop and find the Originals folder. From the Originals folder drag the individual Event Folders to the iPhoto Window and it will recreate them in the new library.
When you're sure all is well you can delete the iPhoto Library on your desktop.
In the future, in addition to your usual back up routine, you might like to make a copy of the library6.iPhoto file whenever you have made changes to the library as protection against database corruption.
    2) I am out of space on my hard drive and want to move the majority of our photos to the external hard drive, but would like to keep a year's worth of photos on the hard drive. How do I move most of them to the external drive but keep some on my hard drive?
    1. Quit iPhoto
    2. Copy the iPhoto Library from your Pictures Folder to the External Disk. Make sure the disk is formatted Mac OS Extended (Journaled).
Now you have two full libraries.
    3. On your internal, delete the pics you don't want from iPhoto there.
Now you have a full Library on the External and a smaller subset on the internal.
    4. To choose between Libraries: Hold down the option (or alt) key key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Choose Library'
Managing Multiple Libraries - including moving pics/albums/rolls and metadata between them - is greatly facilitated by using iPhoto Library Manager

  • Can't find my photo library

Ok, I know this sounds silly -
I just imported pictures to iPhoto, but wanted to edit and reference some of them using my Canon ImageBrowser - but I have no folder with my photos in it.
It shows a pictures folder, but NO library, just Photo Booth
If I could figure out how to include a screen shot, I would...
    Any suggestions?

To use another editor with iPhoto:
You can set Photoshop (or any image editor) as an external editor in iPhoto. (Preferences -> General -> Edit Photo: Choose from the Drop Down Menu.) This way, when you double click a pic to edit in iPhoto it will open automatically in Photoshop or your Image Editor, and when you save it it's sent back to iPhoto automatically. This is the only way that edits made in another application will be displayed in iPhoto.
I’m not sure what you mean by “reference some of them”, but if you can explain that perhaps we may be able to help there too.
but I have no folder with my photos in it.
With iPhoto 7 (iLife 08) the old iPhoto Library Folder is now a Unix Style Package File. The change was made to the format of the iPhoto library because many users were inadvertently corrupting their library by browsing through it with other software or making changes in it themselves.
The default location of the iPhoto Library is your Pictures Folder. IF it has been moved you can find it easily enough.
Select A photo in the iPhoto Window and right click on it. From the resulting menu select 'Show File (or 'Show Original File' if that's available). A Finder Window will open with the file selected. In column view it’s simple to find the Library location.
    FYI
There are many, many ways to access your files in iPhoto:
For 10.5 users: You can use any Open / Attach / Browse dialogue. On the left there's a Media heading, your pics can be accessed there. Apple-Click for selecting multiple pics.
    Uploaded with plasq's Skitch!
To upload to a site that does not have an iPhoto Export Plug-in the recommended way is to Select the Pic in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Export and export the pic to the desktop, then upload from there. After the upload you can trash the pic on the desktop. It's only a copy and your original is safe in iPhoto.
This is also true for emailing with Web-based services. If you're using Gmail you can use iPhoto2GMail
If you use Apple's Mail, Entourage, AOL or Eudora you can email from within iPhoto. With 10.5 you can access the Library from the New Message Window in Mail:
    Uploaded with plasq's Skitch!
If you use a Cocoa-based Browser such as Safari, you can drag the pics from the iPhoto Window to the Attach window in the browser.
Or, if you want to access the files with iPhoto not running, then create a Media Browser using Automator (takes about 10 seconds) or use THIS
    Other options include:
    1. *Drag and Drop*: Drag a photo from the iPhoto Window to the desktop, there iPhoto will make a full-sized copy of the pic.
    2. *File -> Export*: Select the files in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Export. The dialogue will give you various options, including altering the format, naming the files and changing the size. Again, producing a copy.
    3. *Show File*: Right- (or Control-) Click on a pic and in the resulting dialogue choose 'Show File'. A Finder window will pop open with the file already selected.

  • Can't find my iTunes library on my laptop.

Can't find iTunes library on my laptop. Daughter's library is there, but mine doesn't seem to be. When I plugged my ipod in, got a message indicatng my ipod was synced to another library and asking if I wanted to erase it and sync with this one.  Can 2 iTunes libraries be stored on the same laptop? (I'm not tech savvy - appreciate any help offered.)

Is this the computer the device was syncing with previously?
If not, where is that library?  The library will only be where the user puts it.
Syncing is one way, computer to iDevice.
Multiple libraries can be stored on a single computer... if that's what you really want.

  • I-tunes can't find songs in library on new external hard-drive

My Western Electric hard-drive died and I purchased a new Seagate external drive. I moved my I-tunes music library with all my songs to the new drive and changed the location of my library in I-tunes. When I open I-tunes it can't find any of my songs. There is an ! in front of every one. The locaction of the music folder is set correctly in I-tunes and the songs are all still there. I can individually locate the songs and they play fine but this isn't practical for a 10,000 song library. I think the problem has something to do with the auto-backup software that came with the Seagate. It creates a series of directories and hidden files when doing a back-up. I can't sync my I-pod because I'll lose my whole libarary since I-tunes can't find the songs. Help.

All of my several thousand mp3s are on an external HD, and i-tunes just comes up with an exclamation mark next to each of the tunes saying it can't find the original file.
Have these always been on the external and they were previously working?
I've changed the i-tunes music location to my external HD (F drive) in preferences
If you moved the music yourself, this will simply tell iTunes to use that location for anything in the future. It will still look for everything in iTune in teh location it was at before.
    and consolidated the library,
Consolidating will copy everything in iTunes to the location you set in iTunes prefs -> Advanced - iTunes music folder location.
If you moved all the music from that location then consolidated, there is nothing to move, since iTunes will be looking for music in the original location.
Does anyone have any idea how I can get i-tunes to relocate all of my music files
Let iTunes relocate them. You do not relocate them.
    Do this...
    Quit iTunes.
Move all the music back to the original location. Don't leave the music there as iTunes will simply duplicate it at that location when you consolidate.
    Open iTunes.
Make sure iTunes prefs -> Advanced is set to the external where you want it.
Then File -> Libary -> Consolidate.

  • Why do I get build failed "Can't find project or library" in TFS 2013

    Using TFS 2013, VB6, Windows Server 2008R2
    Problem:
While performing a TFS build of a VB6 application, I am receiving an error "Compile error in file c:\builds\clsCommon.cls
    Line 122:Can'tfind project or library"
    Setup:
I have three projects: two VB6 dll's and one vb.net COM Callable Wrapper (CCW) dll. The first project (VB6)
is called MyBase.dll. When I issue a make from the IDE, it complies and builds the dll. When I perform a build from TFS, again it builds without issue.
Next, is my .net assembly. Lets just say it complies and I'm able to compile other applications with it as
a reference. In fact, let me state that I can compile my entire suite of applications and they work when I build them from the IDE. The problem is when I build from TFS
Finally I build the next VB6 project using TFS. This DLL (Called batch) internally references myBase.dll. Inside
my batch project I have a class called clsCommon.cls. At line number 122 inside clsCommon I instantiate an object based on myBase.clsLOGs. Now when I run the TFS build, I get the error that Batch.clsCommon can not find myBase.clsLOGs:
    Private g_ErrorLogs AS MyBase.clsLOGs '<---- Line 122 of Batch.clsCommon
That is the nuts and bolts of it.
    What I have tried:
Compatibility mode is turned off. I tried to set it to Binary Compatibility, but I get an error that I can't
    set Compatibility Mode.
All of out DLL's and EXE's are moved into
a common executable folder D:\PEEPS\bin. When we set references in the IDE, we point to D:\PEEPS\bin. In TFS, the builds drop into C:\builds.
    IDE Builds drop into D:\PEEPS\bin
    Project references look in D:\PEEPS\bin
TFS builds and drops into C:\builds
Why are we doing builds in TFS if makes from the IDE are working?
Also, to circumvent the issue in the past, we simply took the builds from the developers IDE and gave it to
QA for testing. If everything tested ok, QA gave it to production support for implementation. The problem with that solution is our industry regulators do not want developers to give production EXE's and DLL's to QA or Production Support. They have to be able
to perform their own builds and TFS is our code repository.
Thank you in advance for you help.

    SOLVED
    Hi John,
    Thank you for the reply.
Solved this yesterday (had some other projects to work on had to shelve this for a while).
    There is a
dependency structured path to out compiles:
    Project A is
    dependency for Project B
Project A and B are required for project C
    etc
There are about 10 VB6 projects overall.  What we noticed is that if you tried to open one of the last projects in the chain, sometimes we would get an error stating it could find one or more of the other projects.  The thing is all but one of
these projects were referenced in the (run time) References section of the project and there was no Visual Basic Group so no Project References.  So how were the end projects' finding the initial projects?  I needed to solve this problem to fix my
    TFS issue.
The answer was in the vbproj file. Internal to the project file a class file can be provided:
    class=someclassname; ..\projectname\classname.cls
Once I removed the lowest level project as a run time reference and added it as a
reference in the project file, my builds worked from the top down.
