I changed the name of a picture and all pictures in the folder were changed to the new name I gave to one picture. Can I restore the original names?

IPhoto changing the names on already tagged faces

I've already tagged several faces in my iPhoto library but in some pictures, iPhoto has changed them to someone else's name. I've changed it back several times but for a few photos it just keeps changing it to someone else again (and not always the same person!). There are also some faces it keeps asking me to identify even after I've identified them several times. I've even tried deleting the face tag and retagging it but that doesn't work. Anyone else run into this problem?

Right click and then go to show info and change the song name there.

hiya i used to have a vision:m, and i renamed all of my songs (sorting out the genres etc), but when i installed x-fi's?organiser, they were mostly all wrongly named, and had gone back to what they orginially were
is there anything i can do to get them back to their?renamed names? like something i have to have ticked in options or something?

I can't help with how to get back the previous tags, except to say that it happened to me also switching from a Rio Karma to and x-fi.
In media monkey, if you right-click the track on the x-fi, and click on properties, you can edit the tags from there. You can also highlight a lot of tracks in one go, and change them to have the same genre, and it won't change the settings for the other tags.

I tried to change the name of my device and now I cant sync anything and it says there is a problem with the disk and when I changed the name back it still said the same thing so I restored my ipod (not from itunes but on the ipod itsself)

And now its saying my ipod is corrupt. None of my stuff was erased from itunes it was only erased from my ipod so why am I not able to just sync everything back onto my ipod? why is it doing this now? I think this is ridiculous that just changing one name would do this much damage.

Changed the name of my blog, now link is broken

HI, the link to my blog no longer works after I changed the name. The link takes me to an error page on mac saying this page doesnt exist.

I think I fixed it by changing the name back to the original. But the RSS feed was a broken link too. So I deleted the link on the page and readded it. All seems well now. But I would appreciate it if you would check it for me.

How do I change the name of my external hard drive?

When I updated to OSX Mavericks my external hard drive changed its name from "HD-PZU3" to "HD-PZU3 1". Which you can imagine has messed up all my applications, the most important being iTunes, and it would be great if I could just change the name back so as to keep the preferences on most of my applications the same.

In the Library module, in the Folders tab on the left, do a right-click "show parent" until you can see the root of the drive.
From there, if you cannot rename the drive from there, then rename it in the OS finder/explorer. Then you just need to reconnect that one root directory or drive entry and Lightroom will do all the work for you.

launch iPhoto wile holding down the option key and select the original library - when you create a new library of course it is empty
And you seriously need to backup your iPhoto library and purchase and install iPhoto '11 version 9.5.x from the App store and download and run the iPhoto library upgraded \then run the new iPhoto - 7.1.5 is not fully compatible with Mavericks

IPhoto changes the original creation date to 12/31/1969

Hi folks, this is a problem I have been trying to resolve for a very long time.
I have a large collection of pictures that I took with a Palm Zire 71 and Zire 72 going back to 2003. Every time I import the files with iPhoto (File > Import to Library), iPhoto changes the original creation dates of the jpgs to 12/31/1969. I have tried many different things... most recently I burned the files to a CD, confirmed that the original creation dates were still in tact, and tried importing with iPhoto right from the CD. I got the same result... all photos with the date 12/31/1969. All photos completely disorganized because of Palm's less than great file naming structure. I need to keep the creation dates intact for the iPhoto books I want to make with them, so changing the file names won't work as a solution. Even changing the files names to the creation dates plus a counter would be very difficult because it is over 1500 pictures. Does anyone else know of this problem and perhaps have a solution for it? Thank you for the suggestion TD. But the Batch doesn't help in this case because so many of the photos were created on different days. I would still have to manually go into each of the creation dates and change them back to the original.
That's just not feasible for 1500 files. iPhoto shouldn't be stripping the files of the creation dates at import to begin with. I'm hoping to find a way to get the import process to work properly for these files. The weird thing is that iPhoto doesn't seem to do this to files create on a more typical point and shoot camera,
but only on these Palm files.

Did anyone find a good way to sort the shared albums better, so that the ones you share with can better find their way around.
You can arrange them manually in an album, select all and use the Photos ➙ Batch Change ➙ Date to menu option and check the box to add a set interval between photos. That will let the photos be sorted by date and be in the order you want:

I am trying to find out a way to change my new sony dsc-h70 camera from "no name" to it's proper name in iphoto. I've googled it, but cannot find any information other than you can change the name in Finder. I cannot figure out how to do this and have been working on it for half an hour in Finder with no luck. Everything works the way it is supposed to, photo's import, etc., I'd just really like to change the name. Can someone please send me step by step instructions? Thanks

Take the memory card out of the camer and put it in a card reader. When it mounts on the desktop select it and try to change the name. However, that might make it incompatible with the camera. You'll just have to try and see.

What version of iPhoto and system are you running? On the guess that you're running the latest iPhoto, 9.4.2, Try the following:
1 - launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the thumnails, Option #2.
2 - It may take 2-3 attempts so don't give up after only one attempt.

I have now changed the apple ID to my own, but I cannot use my $20.00 credit in itune on this app. It says app. was purchased under another ID and i must purchase app. in my ID. I tried going back to his ID to redemm $ 20.00, but gift cards were redeemed under my new ID, therefore leaving 0 balance under his ID. Apps are forever tied to the AppleID used to download them.
You cannot use your AppleID to add credit to an app purchased
under your husband's AppleID. You must either download the

Well!
If you have ThunderBolt, I would go with such for an External Working Drive, spinning platter or SSD depending on your budget
This does not have to be huge just big enough to house your most current Jobs
Once the Current Job is put to rest I would move it to a larger multi bay hard drive unit, USB or FireWire nothing fancy, no RAID, set up as one single Disk
This would only be accessed when something is needed from a past Job so the connection does not have to be speedy
The Drobo would be relegated to Vaults and backups
You can set up a Vault on the Drobo to back up the External Working Library and then Reconnect it when you have moved the Library over to the other Enclosure
This has worked for me pretty smoothly for a long while, but I have found over the years that one can not assume all people work in the same manner! :-)
