Iphoto changes the date on some events to a date in the future

I went into my iphoto and noticed some events had been changed to a date in the future. It seems to do it on random events. It also grouped all of my videos into one event dated the end of May. Does anyone know what causes this and how to prevent it?

Make a temporary, duplicate copy of your library and apply the three fixes in order as necessary.
Fix #1
1 - delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your HD/User/Home()/ Library/Preferences folder.
2 - delete iPhoto's cache file, Cache.db, that is located in your HD/User/Home()/Library /Caches/com.apple.iPhoto folder.
3 - launch iPhoto and try again.
NOTE: If you're moved your library from its default location in your Home/Pictures folder you will have to point iPhoto to its new location when you next open iPhoto by holding down the Option key when launching iPhoto. You'll also have to reset the iPhoto's various preferences.
Fix #2
Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
Select the options identified in the screenshot.

Using iPhoto Library Manager to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
Download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
Click on the Add Library button, navigate to your Home/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File ➙ Rebuild Library menu option
In the next window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments but not books, calendars or slideshows. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.

The last 2 months photos have appeared right back at the beginning of my Events out of date order aothough both my digital camera and iPhone are correctly dated

1. The last 2 months photos imported at intervals on seperate occasions appeared in Last Import, but then disappeared when I imported some more. They should have come up as the latest event in Events, but they didn't. Eventually I found them right back at the beginning of my Events. They are dated
1st April 2013 - 27th April 2013,
2nd March 2013 - 18th April 2013 and
4th May 2013 - 20th May 2013
All my photos are correctly dated and have appeared as Events in chronological order. How can I correct this. I have a huge collection of 305 events = 11,000 photos = 58 GB
2. A number of assorted flagged photos have also appeared as an Event right back at the beginning.
I am using iPhoto '11 Version 9.4.3

In the Events mode check the View ➙ Sort menu to make sure it's set as you expected it to be. If it's By Date ➙ Descending the latest Events will be at the top.

Merging events in iPhoto with pictures named the same in each event? Will I lose the photo or will iPhoto rename the duplicate names?

I am trying to merge 2 events in iPhoto, but i notice that in the first event my photos are named by my camera as DSC_001, DSC_002, etc. But the same is true of the photos in the second event DSC_001, DSC_002, etc. If I merge these 2 events will I lose pictures that have the same photo/file name? Or will iPhoto change the name of DSC_001 from the second event when it merges event 1 & event 2? I am hesitant, I don't want to lose half of my pictures.

With iPhoto 9 and later when merging events the files stay in their original folder inside the library so there's no problem with files with the same file name. It's when you export same named files to the same folder on the hard drive that you may run into a problem.

The pictures in several events I imported disappeared, only the event names remain. Now iPhoto crashes when I try to import new files. Any ideas?

I imported several hundred pictures to different events. Some directly from a Canon EOS camera (large card) and some form old CD's. The import process went fine. But I noticed some events were empty after having seen them in the library. Thought it was my mistake and may have moved the pictures to other event. The last CD I was importing could not be read and iPhoto hanged. I had to force turn off the laptop and when restarted, several of the newer events were also empty and now iPhoto crashes when I try to Import to Library. Does anybody has had an experience like this? I really need to recover the pictures because I already deleted them from the camera. Help will be greatly appreciated.

What version of iPhoto? Assuming 09 or later...
Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Repair Database. If that doesn't help, then try again, this time using Rebuild Database.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In early versions of Library Manager it's the File -> Rebuild command. In later versions it's under the Library menu.)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

The ACPI LID close event catched only 50% of the time.

I'm using acpid with s2ram to have my laptop suspend to ram when I close the lid.
This works fine... 50% of the time.
Here is what happen:
If the s2ram command is commented in my /etc/acpi/actions/lid.sh, and I run an acpi_listen in a terminal, I can see that each time I close or open the lid, the last number is incremented by 1:

button/lid LID 00000080 00000004
button/lid LID 00000080 00000005
If the s2ram is NOT commented in my /etc/acpi/actions/lid.sh and I run acpi_listen in a terminal, here is what I see (we start the test with the lid opened):
1) I close the lid. The acpi_listen shows:
button/lid LID 00000080 00000001
2) The s2ram is executed and the laptop suspends to ram. That is fine.
3) I open the lid. The laptop resumes fine. Nothing happens in the acpi_listen output.
4) The /proc/acpi/button/lid/LID/state shows "open"
Here after is where the problem is:
5) I close the lid. The acpi_listen DOES NOT SHOW ANYTHING :-( => The /etc/acpi/actions/lid.sh will not be launched and the laptop will not be suspended
6) The /proc/acpi/button/lid/LID/state shows "close"
7) I open the lid. The acpi_listen shows:
button/lid LID 00000080 00000002 => As one can see the last number is now 00000002 which shows that the acpid daemon never received anything for the second lid closure :-(
8) I close the lid. The acpi_listen shows:
button/lid LID 00000080 00000003
2) The s2ram is executed and the laptop suspends to ram. That is fine.
So in fact it works the first time then I need to close/open/close the lid to have it suspend.
Any idea ?

Solved it by adding a file to /etc/pm/sleep.d/80-acpid with:

You have to call pm-suspend or hibernate followed by an ampersand (&) otherwise the acpid restart fails.
EDIT: Sorry for the necro. Thought it was 2012. Either way I solved my problem with this so someone else might find it useful.

How do I Sync All 5,000 of my songs onto my iPod 5th Generation without no problems at all, Most of my songs have the Album Artworks, some are ACC converted but after the "Changes Are Applied", it will say - Songs were not synced. File wasn't convert

I Am having a problem with syncing 5,000+ songs onto my IPod 5th Generation. Everytime I sync, some songs will either go away or ALL of them will come off my iPod. I have iTunes 12 for Windows, and it has a slow syncing process and it will take days for songs to get on the iPod. It will even say that any of the songs "we're not synced to my iPod because the file wasn't converted..

Welcome to Apple Support Communities.
It sounds like some songs aren’t being synced to your iPod touch because they aren’t in a compatible format. Can you play those tracks in iTunes? Try selecting the tracks that won’t sync and creating a new version of them with iTunes as shown in the article below.

Usually, we have an edge device for internet connection and LAN connection, like a router. So I suppose gateway is not working properly.
For further troubleshooting, please provide your network topology. DNS, gateway settings. Test if you can ping DC when the issue occur.

How do I stop the sound from some previous website from interfering with the audio from a new web site?

Mozilla Firefox is my default browser. Whenever I try to listen to the audio on a video, parts of some old audio from a previous video interfere. I still maintain my Microsoft Explorer browser and I do not experience that problem with it. The only reason I use Firefox is that it supports some games on Facebook which apparently Microsoft Explorer does not.

Thanks guys. Both options worked. Dowside to deleting audio (option I went with) appears to be that you lose the audio forever. So if I ever wanted to bring the audio back I wouldn't be able to.
You are partially correct in that the Audio is no longer on your Timeline. It is still in your Project Panel, and you can move it back to your Timeline if ever needed. The complete removal from the Timeline is why I work with the Audio Mixer in cases like this. Also, on could alter the Gain on a Clip by Clip basis.
With using the audio mixer it appeared I had to mute each clip separately. When I highlighted all the clips and selected mute for audio 1 it wouldn't mute all of the selected clips.
The Audio Mixer works at the Track-level, and not at the Clip-level. That is why I use it so often - one click, or slider adjustment affects the entire chosen Track. If it did not work at a Track-level for you, something is wrong. Now, if one has Clips on different Tracks, then Muting of all of those would be required, or one would have address things on a Clip-level basis.
Any way to use the audio mixer to mute the clips in mass?
See above for how it should work, and also the exceptions - Audio on several Audio Tracks.

I read a doc 'Periodic Jobs and Tasks in SAP BW'
which suggested sum steps to do this
i hav created the setting for Bex broadcasting for scheduling job Execution with data change in info provider
thereafter doc says "an event has to be raised in the process chain which loads the data to this InfoProvider.When the process chain executes the process u201CTrigger Event Data Change (for Broadcaster)u201D, an event is raised to inform the Broadcaster that the query can be filled in the OLAP cache."
how can this b done please provide with sum proper steps

U need to create a process chain or use the existing process chain which you are using to load your current solution, just add event change process type in the process chian and inside it add the info provider which are going to be affected.
Once you are done with this go to the broadcaster and create new setting for that query...you will see the option for event data chainge in infoprovider just choose that and create the settings.

I have accidentely changed the layout of my events libaray

I was using imovie 09 on my macbook pro and was using the trackpad to select a different event and accidentally right clicked and selected an option. It happened so quickly I did not see which option I selected and now my events are separated by years before this happened my events were just listed one after another
How do I get my events libaray back to the way it was?

Just to the right of where 'Event Library' is written, in the top right corner of the event library window, you will see a button.
Try clicking on that to change the way the event library is displayed.
Otherwise go to the View menu at the top of the screen.
All of the Event display options are in the second group.

I am using splitApp. I have a scenario where user can edit few fields in one of the "Detail" page. When user clicks some item in master page, before changing the detail page I want to show a popup to user if changes should be saved.
Is there an event where I get to know any detail page navigation? or some event to handle before leaving the page.

Hi Rashmi,
It depends on which element you are using.
Suppose you are using sap.ui.commons.TextField where you are editing your data(In Detail View) then change event is triggered whenever the text in the field has changed AND the focus leaves the TextField or the Enter key is pressed and you can use this event in your code according to your need.
Here you may set some global variable and check that value if it is set or not.

Can't copy some events to desktop or flashdrive

I've iPhoto 11, I can copy some events(with 80-100 photos) but some events are can't be copied, when i drag&drop to desktop or flashdrive, nothing happens. I tried to repair Disk permissions but nothing changed.

I just ran a quick search on this forum after experiencing this very same problem. However, the answer to fix this doesn't seem to be in this thread. How did you resolve this? With the 'export' from the 'file' menu? ... but what about when you have a mix of photos and videos in your event? does it work fine?
This problem occurred the first time on my mac while I was browsing photos. Suddenly all the thumbnails of my library turned black (with no previews). In a bit of a panic, I restarted Iphoto and it looked fine at first glance.
But later on, I realised that some photos were rotated in the wrong direction. More bizarrely some old photos I've deleted were back in some events.
It's from that day that I was unable to drag and drop whole events on the desktop or on external hard drives. Some events work fine but other are a real nightmare. Sometimes I can get away by copying entire rows of pix, but sometimes I literally have to drag and drop photos one by one to archive them.
I've tried all the options of re-building and repairing the library but nothing worked,
This is so annoying!!!
If you or anyone else have somehow found the cause of this problem. Please let me know.

CS02, On click of SAVE button, need to capture some event related with this

My requirement is like,
I change the material BOM using CS02 tcode.
When, I complete the changes, and click on SAVE button, I dont find any event triggering in the system.
Can any help in capturing some event related to this?
The reason why I need this is ..during the workflow runtime, the user is presented with the workitem to change the Material BOM with CS02 tcode. And, if sometimes, by mistake, the user is unable to complete the changes of the workitem, and comes back of CS02 without change completion, then the workitem is disapperaing from the inbox, with out completing the intended task of the workitem. So I want to make the workitem appear repeatedly in the user's inbox, till the desired action is done.

You need to use a Loop..While statement by validating the decision step.
Use a varaiable to store 'Y' or 'N'.
intially, have the value as 'N' and if the required outcome is taken. Eg: Accept,Reject.. then change the value to 'Y', which will go to the next step of workflow.
if 'N', it will again create a new workitem with the same content to the same agent.
