Iphoto Copy & Paste

Macbook pro won't copy/paste some photo's from iphoto to external hard drive. I always back up my pictures to an external hard drive. It always has worked before. I have Lion. I copy them from events. It is not copying all of them. It does copy some. I have try-ed copying all and then just a few. It will not let me drag and drop. The last event had 137 photo's and only 132 copied over. I have to check them one by one to see what is missing. I always put the event name on all photo's. I then went back and did a batch change back to the file number from my camara, not all of them changed back some of them kept the event name. In the past I could drag & drop or copy & paste. If anyone can help I would appreciate it.

Copy and paste is not generally supported to move large amounts of picture files from iPhoto. It will only work for small picture files. And drag and drop from the iPhoto browser is not a safe way to back up; dragging will only give you the preview images of your photos, not the original high quality master images.
The recommended workflow to export your photos for a backup would be to select the project that you want to save, and then use the command "File > Export". Use "Kind > Original" to export the original master files, and "Kind > Current" to export the edited versions.
For a backup you could also simply drag your iPhoto library to your external drive to save all other data, like Faces, Places, Keywords.

I am trying to Transfer my Photos to an External Hard drive as a Back Up. Since I want to be able to Transfer them to a Windows based computer if necassary, I did not use the Automatic Mac Backup program.
To Transfer them. I Copy all the Pictures in a folder in IPhoto, then Paste them in a Folder of the same name, which I have created on the External Hard Drive. It will Paste about 50% of the Photos. Then, when I try to go back and Copy and Paste the rest, it acts like it has already done that. HELP!!!

By default, iPhoto keeps pictures in a special library which isn't user friendly - but is effective for the program. The best way to move pictures from iPhoto is to export them from the iPhoto program.
Start up iPhoto and select all the photos you want to move to your external drive. Go to the File Menu and select Export... For size choose original and then select the external drive as the destination. (It would be good to create a folder for the photos first.)
Since export doesn't create folders and you may want the photos organized, you can select one event or one album at a time and export each separately, putting them into separate folders on the external.

You can drag and drop (this will result in a compressed JPG) or hold the alt key and drag and drop (this will copy the original). You can also select the pictures and choose Export from the File menu.

Copy/paste with original size and not 72 dpi

With iPhoto, I used to copy/paste a photo to Photoshop in its original size.
With Photos for Mac, the pasted image seems to be 72 dpi only.
Do I have to move back to iPhotos or have I missed something ?

Try use the Media Browser in the Open dialogue of iPhoto.

Copy/paste adjustments or just one?

Hello,
I have to edit 400+ photo's.
All photo's need to be:
     1. enhanced
     2. straigthened -1,2 degrees
     3. cropped
I did this manually on one photo.
Then chose
     Edit=>Copy Adjustments
moved to the next photo and chose
     Edit=>Paste Adjustments
Instead of applying the three adjustments, iPhoto only applied one (the "enhance") adjustment.
The options are called "Copy/paste adjustments" so I expected it to be able to apply more then one adjustment at once . . .
Isn't this true?
Am I doing something wrong?

QT Pro - .mov files - can't copy/paste/export - opens browser

On a couple .mov files, when I open them, my browser opens also. As for the .mov files, I can't copy, paste, export etc.
Can anyone explain this, and is there a way to resolve the browser and other issues?

So I went into Iphoto, selected the Trimmed Movie and selected. PHOTOS, revert to Original.
Now I can COPY and PASTE the MOVIE from Iphoto to a normal Folder.
I then opened the original .mov file in Quicktime and trim the movie. I then go to close and save
"The Operation could not be completed, an unknown error occured"

How to copy & paste an image into a new Pages document?

With the latest version of Pages, you cannot copy & paste an image from iPhoto or the web any more.
Is there an easy alternative?
Using the toolbar alternative "Media" takes ages.
Why did Apple remove this great feature of Pages????

Pages '09 should still be in your Applications/iWork folder.
Archive/trash Pages 5 and rate/review it in the App Store, then get back to work.

Problems to copy paste and drag

Hi,
I have some troubles to copy paste in the finder, mail, iphoto using the keybord or mouse. I can copy but not paste.
And I can't drag files from one place to another in the Finder, same for e-mails in Mail and photos in IPhoto. I don't think it's the mouse because it is working when I drag tabs to reorder them in Safari.
Anyone knows how to solve this problem? It is very frustrating, especially when you try to tidy your desktop and you can't move files, or when you try to capy paste a website adress from one e-mail to another or to safari.

You NEED to do the Shift-Key reboot - just doing repair permissions didn't work for me.

Copy/Paste in Snow Leopard

Before Snow Leopard, I liked to print, or Copy/Paste then print out in Text Edit or Apple Works, the Help (up in the menu or on Apple’s web site) of some programs, like iPhoto, iCal etc. That way, if I wanted to look something up, I had the answers (I hope) in my own printed manual. Now when I try to do this, I can’t. WHY!! Is there something I am overlooking? Is there a new way in Snow Leopard that I don’t know about? No one seems to be able to give me an answer and it is VERY frustrating. I’m OLD and like to have a manual in my hands, not try to remember everything on a screen. Any help will be appreciated.

Common copy/paste pitfalls some have, some may be related to your issue:
1. Not seeing the text highlighted you wish to copy, before you select copy.
2. Not realizing on the Mac the keyboard key has changed from Apple logo, to Cloverleaf logo like a 4 leaf clover, to the word Command on various keyboards. If you use a non-Apple keyboard, the substitute key has the Windows Start logo, or Windows menu icon. Combined with the C key is Copy, X key is Cut, Z key is undo (when available), V key is paste, unless otherwise indicated in the Edit menu of the said application. No shortcut in the menu usually means a non Apple keyboard shortcut application addon is needed for keyboard shortcuts of the said command.
3. Accidently cutting or copying a different selected text, before pasting what you copied. Remembering previous cuts and copies is generally not an option.
4. Clipboard is no longer visible in Mac OS X as its own window.
A really good book author for Mac OS X is Robin Williams (not the actor). She makes easy explanations of the most difficult concepts.

Lost copy/paste feature in Adjust menu

Missing from iPhoto `11 9.5 is the copy/paste feature associated with the Adjust feature — at least I can't find it. If someone knows a workaround or if it is burried someplace else, please post.

You're right. Another feature they've discontinued. Send a feature request to Apple via http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphoto.html.

Copy/paste in save as dialog box

I am using your pdf plugin with Safari but when I click the save icon I cannot paste text into the file name box. I have to manually type it in. Can I copy & paste in the save dialog box?

The plugin works for me I just need copy/paste ability when saving the file.

Fields don't recognize their value has changed when a copy/paste value in inputed

I'm having a minor hiccup with my copy and paste buttons.
I have check boxes that, when checked, make other fields visible. The copy/paste actions recognize when the check box value is 1 and paste accordingly in the new instance of the subform, however, the invisible fields do not become visible, despite the check box value being 1 in the new instance. I feel like I'm missing something simple....possibly something that forces the scripting within the check box field to run since it is not recognizing that it's value has changed? If I manually click the check box in the new instance, the scripting works and the invisible fields become visible so I know its not an issue with creating new instances.
Any suggestions will be appreciated...I am new to this...

Are SMS forwarding/Editing and Text Copy Paste functions supported in Firefox OS?

Could not find any options to forward SMS or edit text messages, neither could find any options to copy paste general text. Most importantly, in the number dial pad, the cursor can't be moved to the desired location to add digits. Am I wrong? If so how do I go about these things?

Can't get Typekit to work with localhost (also, another weird issue with copy+paste)

I've searched through the other posts already, and I *think* I've tried all the solutions, but I still can't get the typekit fonts on my machine.
I'm trying to use the "orator-std" font. In the "kit editor", in the "kit settings -> kit settings" tab I have for name "localhost" (w/o quotes) and for domains just "127.0.0.1" (w/o quotes).
Then (AFTER saving the settings from that tab), I go back into edge animate, I start a new font by clicking that + sign next to "fonts", in the "library" tab. I set the "font fallback list" to ' "orator-std",sans-serif ' (w/ quotes, w/o single quotes), and then go back to the open browser and go to the "embed code", copy both lines of javascript, go back to edge animate, and... nothing. It won't let me change ANY text in this box anymore after the window loses focus. I have to press "cancel" and try again. So this time, I just type in the orator-std... blah blah, same as last time, but paste in the code successfully as it was already in the clipboard and I didn't need to make the window lose focus. Okay, so I click "Add font", and apply the font to my text. Nothing happens.
Huh... well the "Font's from T" picture is showing up in the bottom right of my screen, so that's odd. I go to preview in chrome, still ugly old sans-seriff there, also with the "Font's from T" logo in the bottom right.
I figure "okay, probably just takes a second... or a minute... or w/e like the message said." Well this was at least an hour ago, so something is still wrong.
I would love to just delete the font and start from scratch... maybe something got screwed up along the way and it would fix things to just start from scratch. Well... "sorry" says edge animate... can't let you delete that! In the "libarary" tab, there's only one font visible, it says "orator-std,sans-serif" (w/o quotes). If I right click it, the only option is "delete" and it's greyed out.
I tried doing one with arial instead of sans-serif just now, still not working, but everything shows up in arial now instead of sans-serif... so that's something I guess.
Apologies if this is just a simple problem that I'm just somehow not grasping. Please accept this legitimate bug report as payment... the er copy paste bug, I mean...

Hi Trevor,
I'm sorry you ran into trouble here. Typekit can be used locally. However there are some necessary steps that if left out, will cause the fonts not to render. In order to use Typekit locally, you've got to:
1. Be running a local server when testing your site in the browser. You can tell if you're running a local server by the URL of the local site. If it starts with: file:// then you are just viewing the local file in a browser and not running it from a local server.
If the local URL starts with: http:// then you're running a local server.
2. The domain of your local server has to be part of the domain list in your Kit. So, if your local server uses: localhost, you'll need to add this to your Kit's domains.
