Iphoto crashes in the middle of transfering from camera
I have a brand new imac and when i connect my digital camera (Nikon coolpix 775) to download to iphoto it crashes after a couple of photos, as though I have disconnected the camera. I can import old photo files so its soemthing with the camera. The camera works fine on my old mac lap top. The same thing happens in image capture
any ideas any one?
I have a PowerBook 1MHZ G4 OS 10.3.9 iPhoto version 6.03 and an Intel iMac OS 10.4.4 and iPhoto version 6.0. I can download photos easily to the PowerBook from my Cannon 1GB SD memory card using the Merkury card reader/writer directly to iPhoto. However, the very same activity causes the iMac to stall after 3-6 photos.
I have tried running reset permissions from the install disk as well as disk repair. I have also tried to rebuild the memory card. This has no effect. I have tried to transfer the files from the memory card to a folder on the desktop and importing from there. The file tranfer from the card to the folder stalls ... hangs up the finder. These are ,JPEG files only. No movies. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated!

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad and start typing the name.
Step 1
For this step, the title of the Console window should be All Messages. If it isn't, select
SYSTEM LOG QUERIES ▹ All Messages
from the log list on the left. If you don't see that list, select
View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar at the top of the screen.
In the top right corner of the Console window, there's a search box labeled Filter. Initially the words "String Matching" are shown in that box. Enter the name of the crashed application or process. For example, if Safari crashed, you would enter "Safari" (without the quotes.)
Each message in the log begins with the date and time when it was entered. Select the messages from the time of the last crash, if any. Copy them to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message by pressing command-V.
☞ The log contains a vast amount of information, almost all of which is irrelevant to solving any particular problem. When posting a log extract, be selective. A few dozen lines are almost always more than enough.
Please don't indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.
Please don't post screenshots of log messages—post the text.
☞ Some private information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Anonymize before posting.
Step 2
In the Console window, select
DIAGNOSTIC AND USAGE INFORMATION ▹ User Diagnostic Reports
(not Diagnostic and Usage Messages) from the log list on the left. There is a disclosure triangle to the left of the list item. If the triangle is pointing to the right, click it so that it points down. You'll see a list of crash reports. The name of each report starts with the name of the process, and ends with ".crash". Select the most recent report related to the process in question. The contents of the report will appear on the right. Use copy and paste to post the entire contents—the text, not a screenshot.
I know the report is long, maybe several hundred lines. Please post all of it anyway.
If you don't see any reports listed, but you know there was a crash, you may have chosen Diagnostic and Usage Messages from the log list. Choose DIAGNOSTIC AND USAGE INFORMATION instead.
In the interest of privacy, I suggest that, before posting, you edit out the “Anonymous UUID,” a long string of letters, numbers, and dashes in the header of the report, if it’s present (it may not be.)
Please don’t post other kinds of diagnostic report—they're very long and rarely helpful. -
Mac Crashes in the middle of Time Capsule backup --HELP!
Been using time capsule for several months without any issues. In fact, it has been great until recently. A week or so ago, my MacBookPro began crashing in the middle of a time capsule back up. Just suddenly the MAC curtain comes down and tells me I must restart. When I restart I get an error message which I have copied into this message. I tried erasing a whole months worth of backups but still get the same problem........is it possible my MAC has gotten a virus?? Anyone who can help, your comments would be greatly appreciated!!!

Got this problem fixed. It seems the 10.5.3 update corrupted the update somehow. You can perform a disk image repair on the existing backup or just delete all your old back ups and start from scratch which is exactly what I did. Good luck! -
The video app on my iPad now only shows a black screen. Used to work fine then crashed in the middle of a short video. When I open the app the screen is just blank. As it is a default app I can't delete and reinstall. Anybody else experience this?
Try searching for the name of one of your videos on the iPad's spotlight search screen - swipe your first homescreen to the right, type in it's name, and if it finds it tap on it to see if it plays.
If that doesn't work then try closing the Videos app via the taskbar : from the home screen (i.e. not with the Videos app 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Videos app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
A third option if the two above don't work is a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot. -
Iphoto froze in the middle of an import. Had to unplug my phone and walk away for a minute while it was still frozen. Now it says it's importing photos even though nothing is plugged in. Now when I plug in my phone it won't import new photos. Also refuses to quit iPhoto, preventing me from shutting down/restarting my laptop and I'm starting to get worried. What do I do???

Below are the main settings required to enable you to transfer Customer Master Data to SAP GTS. Please note that their is a difference between, Customer Master Record and Customer Master Data in terms of data and for GTS, we transfer Customer Master Data. Hence, below are the settings required:-
In SAP ECC system:-
Activate the change pointers for Customer Master Data apart from enabling basic connection settings.
Schedule a job to run at regular intervals to transfer all the customer master data for the available change pointers to the SAP GTS system
2. In SAP GTS system:-
Maintain the Mapping for ECC Customers to SAP GTS Business Partners in the General settings area of the SPRO in SAP GTS system
Ensure that the Number range is maintained for those GTS Business Partners.
Also, some time you may be required to maintain the organisational structure to ensure full working.

I had the same problem. I created an iCloud account and backed up my iPad to iCloud. I then went to www.iCloud.com, signed-in and then I was able to download my spread sheet data. At least I have my data.

Help...my iphone 3g suddenly crashed in the middle of texting......the whole screen shut down. I pushed the home button and on-off buttons - as directed, the white apple came up...then all I get are red and white lines on the screen.....nothing else ! please help !!!
Thank you for your reply....I actually managed to get it showing in itunes....but couldn't open the phone at all....so took a gamble and got itunes to restore my phone back to factory settings ! which it did...then it restored all the backed up info.....so far so good !!!! phone seems to be working !!! no red lines...! but am still going to take it to the apple store and get them to check it out.......Oh....I lost all the apps I'd bought.....although their on itunes....my phone won't ake them back ??? I can't sync them in ? thanks again though.

Welcome to the Apple Community Hamza.
Firstly, photo stream doesn't save videos, secondly, it may not have all your photos saved in it, it only keeps photos for 30 days.
Back up your photos to a computer or online photo storage facility, before deleting them from your phone. -

The usual procedure with video is you backup the card contents onto an archive drive. You import from the archive drive making a copy (professionals on set make two copies), and once the backups and import are verified, the card is reformatted in the camera.

hello i was updating my ipod 5 to ios 8 and when it was in the middle of updating it came up that i had to connect to itunes and i have done so and its telling me to restore it and i have tried many time to and its not working. So what to i do??

Macbook Pro repeatedly crashes in the middle of work.
It seems as though every 15-20 minuets (or just when I start to make progress on a project) my mid 2009 Macbook Pro running Mountain Lion crashes. I upgraded to mountain lion about 6 months ago and it never did this before. It used to do it maybe once a day but its gotten progressively worse to the point that it happens almost every time I sit at my desk. ****. Sometimes ill hear it just reboot in the middle of the night without even touching it, which kind of leads me to believe its a mother board issue. I've read a bunch of help tickets on the same or familiar issues and have tried a few tasks to no avail. Ill paste the latest crash report below. ANY help would be great. You have different memory installed...
The Apple Hardware Test , extended tests, and Rember can test it, but from Apple & OWC you can see that the memory specification is for speed of 1066 MHz, whereas you have 1333, so that may well be a problem. A new 8 GB kit is ~$80, or the current could have a lifetime warranty if it was sold to you for that mac.
If the crashes are frequent enough, testing in Safe Mode may eliminate the other 3rd party extensions as a cause. -
IPhoto crashing when I'm importing photos from iPhone
So I'm trying to import photos from my iPhone in iPhoto. I am trying to import approx 2000 photos. After imprting approx 1500 photos, iPhoto crashes/stalls. I stop the import and try to delete the photos already imported, but the software is not responding. Can someone help me.

Hi guys, my dad has got a problem with his new Imac, he's had it about a month or so now and since upgrading some of the software the other day it has been playing silly buggers!!
Firstly after the upgrades Safari, itunes and Iphoto stopped working. I managed to solve the problems of safari and itunes by installing some more updates that were available. The iphoto problem was solved by re-installing the application. All seemed to be working well, however i am still coming across another issue with iphoto.
Once the program is open and you try to print a picture it comes up with this error message:
Exception Type: EXC_BAD_ACCESS (SIGBUS)
Exception Codes: KERN_PROTECTION_FAILURE at 0x00000000000024
Crashed Thread: 0 Dispatch queue: com.apple.main-thread

Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one. .

Acrobat asks 'Root' ID/password at launch?
