Iphoto cropping images off page when printing

Hi,
When I select 2 images in iPhoto vertically on one page in portrait, , they show in iPhoto correctly with a border around edges. However, when I hit print, they become landscape, and the top of top image is cropped off page with the bottom of the bottom photo cropped off page too.
I have reviewed all settings with no success.
In the Apple shop they suggested asking on here because they didn't know what the problem was either.
All help gratefully accepted.
It was doing this using OSX and still is with Yosamite.

Try the following:
1 - delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your
     User/Home/Library/ Preferences folder.
2 - delete the contents the following folder:
User/Library/Containers/com.apple.iPhoto
3 - reboot, launch iPhoto and try again.
NOTE: For Mavericks and Yosemite,  go to your Home folder and use the View ➙ Show View Options menu to bring the this window:
where you can check the Show Library Folder checkbox.

Hello ,  I would like to see if I can help with printing from the internet on Windows 10. Are you using the new web browser Microsoft Edge? How does the print preview show? This video goes through the print settings in Microsoft Edge, maybe it might help you find the desired print settings. Maybe changing the scale settings?
I also found this video;   Please let me know if any of these steps resolved your issue, or if there is anything else I can do to help.  I look forward to hearing from you!  Thanks,

  • Why does my image not reach the edges of the page when printed, but appears fine as pdf?

Why does my image not reach the edges of the page when printed, but appears fine as pdf?

Check a printable area of your printer.
Make a (grey) rectangle that is larger than the paper size. Print it,
you'll get a message that some cropping will occur, that's okay. Then take a
ruler and measure the dimensions of the rectangle printed on the paper or
the white borders around the printed rectangle.

I'm not 100% sure, but I believe you need Acrobat Pro for that.

  • Missing pages when printing images

    Hi,
I'm fightig against a very strange problem when printing. When drawing images with g2.drawImage often everything is ok.
But sometimes the output is incomplete - perhaps all pages after # 2 or # 7 are missing. Or no pages are missing but some images and later drawen elements of the affected pages are missing - next page will be ok.
Printing 15 pages with 1 image per page goes wrong 2 times of 12 trys.
    Facts:
    - image is loaded completely (from database)
    - there are no ignored Exceptions
    - Thread.setDefaultUncaughtExceptionHandler is used - without response, as expected
    - all pages are requestet by print(Graphics g, PageFormat pf, int pi) and processed without errors
    - jdk 1.4.2, 1.5.0_04, 1.5.0_06 compatible ...
    - using g2.create() for the image doesn't help
    - problem exists on all printers which testet and Adobe-PDF-"printer"
    - increasing memory doesn't help
    - it seams as doubleBuffering=off will increase correct pages before get one damaged/missing
    - WinXP SP2
    Any idea?
    Thanks

    Thanks ! - and you are most "welcome" "lera1981" ! .........
With respect to the printing problem with Reader 9.x and your report of your experiments with Reader 9.x and with network-printing then I tend to agree  with your assessment that it would seem as the problem is probably with Reader 9.x's printing capeability .
Just for the record I would like to report that my experience with network-connected office-class HP printer has been that some printing problems I've seen in the past with Adobe Reader X.xx has been rectified though the change of driver-type and/or driver-generation such as a switch from e.g. a "PCL 6" driver to a "PCL 5" driver .   Last time I experienced a printing problem with a network-connected office-class HP printer I then had to change the driver to their "HP Universal Print Driver".
While I would say that you are probably right that a change of printer-driver would not make a difference in your case then the point of my writing is that Adobe Reader X.xx or (it's interaction with) Windows seems to be "printer-driver tech-sensitive" understood as that Reader printing tends to respond differently to different "driver tech" !
    Kind Regards

  • IPhoto is cropping images I want to print

I am trying to print multiple (4) of same photos to a page--IPhoto feels it must crop the photo, rather than scaling the whole picture down to the smaller size.
IMHO, the print functionality of IPhoto is not very flexible, and in no way intuitive. This is VERY frustrating.

    Welcome to the Apple Discussions.
IMHO, the print functionality of IPhoto is not very flexible, and in no way intuitive. This is VERY frustrating.
I agree for some of iPhoto, especially the printing. iPhoto is geared to the standard print sizes so it tends to crop them to one of them. In the multiple print per page window you'll need to select a print size and page size first. Then click on the Customize button. In the nest window Control-click on a photo and select Fit Photo to Frame from the Contextual menu. That will reduce the size to include all of the photo like this. I guess you can vary the print size selected originally to vary the number of photos per page you get. If you're using a different layout still try the Control-click trick.
    Happy Holidays
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 08 libraries and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

  • Part of page "image" overlaps the page when printed.  How do I fix this?

When printing from Acrobat 10.1.5, part of the contents of the page prints on top of the page itself.  In my most recent case, the page is landscape.  The portion of the page that overprinted is from the bottom center about 1 inch wide and 4 inches tall.  It ended up on the top right of my page.
Portrait example - a similar sized "piece" from the middle of the 8.5" length, about 1 inch tall and 4 inches wide printed on the top left of my portrait page.
I have tried the quick fix - print as image - but that doesn't change anything.  Help!

    Hi Casey ,
You can check the properties of that calender option and if there is an option of opening the calender in the same page ,then please select that.
Or is it with the help of button option you have created the calender?

  • Poor Image Quality in Pages when Printing

I am having problems with Pages printing images poorly in my documents. The image is barely recognizable and the colors are distorted. It looks fine on the computer page before printing but does not print out well at all. If I save the file as a pdf and then print it through Acrobat, it works fine and the images look just like the ones in the computer. Since Pages and Acrobat are using the same printer and probably the same driver, I am assuming the problem is in Pages not recognizing the image properly.

Is it an HP printer? Is the image printed in negative? Does the image have shadows?
In that case, remove the shadows. Or use Adobe Reader, just like you do. It is one of the known work arounds for this problem.

  • Unwanted margin cutting off design when printing document

I've laid out a design in InDesign that is meant to be printed on a precut 5.5" square card.  The document is set up as a 5.5" square with no margins... my design is set to the edge of the card on the screen.  when i print on 8.5"x11" everything is fine all images appear - nothing is cut off.  when i print on my precut cards the images get cut off by a 1/8" margin on all edges of the card.  printer settings are set to have no margins as well.  i've never had this problem before and can't seem to solve it.  i tried to make the document a PDF and print it that way but the same thing happened.  i contacted epson (i print with an epson RX595) and this is what they said:
"The program that you are having problems printing from probably requires a Postscript Printer Definition (PPD) and this printer does not have one available from Epson. In order to get a PPD for the printer, you will need to look for third party RIP programs that will work with your printer.
Another option may be to save the file as a PDF before printing as this will mask PS fonts and EPS files (even if you do not use PS fonts this may be necessary).
If the issue persists, we recommend contacting the program vendor or Apple for additional support."
any help on this issue would be greatly appreciated!! thanks!

Just a guess, but if this is a borderless printer you probably need to click the setup button in the print dialog to access the driver settings, and pick the borderless page size there, then set the size inthe print dialog to "defined by driver."

  • Print problem - prints fine in photoshop and windows but direct from illustrator is off centre when printed.

when printing a full page image from illustrator the print is off centre and does not print the image in line with the paper. the same image prints just fine in photoshop and as a jpeg from windows own program. the positioning is zeroed in the dialouge box and the preview image shows how it should print, but it does not print as shown. please help.

    clarke,
What happens if you Save a Copy as PDF, then print from Acrobat or Reader?
If that helps, you may consider trying to (find and) use a PostScript (emulatin) printer driver to your printer, if possible.

  • Illustrator cutting off 2" when printing

Illustrator 9.0; WIN2000; HP Deskjet 722C -- Working on pages in Illustrator with photos & copy; the print copies have started coming out with about 2" cut off the bottom of the page; tried changing document setting to legal length but keeping content within the letter-size dimensions, hoping to "fool" the printer with a "longer" print area, but not to be.  Any ideas about what's going on and how to remedy?
Tried to .pdf the file(s):  First time I .pdf'd it, it printed correctly (with no cut-off); second time I printed it, some gremlin decided to change the fonts to Uzbekistanese or some such -- very strange graphic....  So -- .pdf gives back the complete printable page (still, why doesn't Illustrator?), but takes away my font choices; .pdf comes up with the Uzb font about four times out of five or six ...
Sure would be nice (!) if Adobe Illlustrator wouldn't decide to make changes to my print commands on its own ....
    Many thanks for any help

A few things could go wonky and cause this problem (Illustrator being the most fussy of all the Adobe products when it comes to printing).
Artboard - Check to make sure your artboard includes all of your image, i know it's obvious but sometimes you can overlap the boarder if you have a very detailed image without noticing.
Print Paper Size - For some printers you need to set the paper size in the general tab of illustrator as well as in the "Printer" sections and the "Page Setup" section (these are the buttons under the display)
Check your display and if your image is being cut-off there then drag it around (inside the preview window) until it's centered. If all of it won't fit then use the scale options under the General section.
Let me know if all of that doesn't solve the problem, because it's always something small that i forget to do, when Illustrator is giving me printing problems.

  • How to print within the margins of the page when printing from iPad to HP Envy D410a?

When I try to print something from the iPad, either the 1 or the 2, the result is that the image sent from the iPad is printed Borderless, which of course results in parts of the print being cutoff, is there someway to resize the print through the printer, since the iPads don't have drivers?
Also, I seem to have a similar problem when printing from my PC, only in it's case the resulting print is smaller, it seems to print into a margin size of 1" on all sides. The only app that I have found that lets me override this is Adobe Reader which has the page scaling options.
All suggestions will be appreciated. TIA.
