Iphoto damages or not complete
You can't open the application iPhoto because it may be damaged or incomplete. This is what I get when I try to use it. I just set this computer up on friday. I tried all of these things people said on here but it isn't working. I also found out when I hook my digital camera up nothing happens so How do I upload photos to this computer.
Adrienne
Calm down.
I did check the names and in fact mentioned them in my post.
The way I read it, they both have the same problem (referred to in the Title of the thread). aryafrommentone even said he/she (can't tell the gender by the name, sorry) had the same problem. Yes, I know aryafrommentone had a few different issues and kind of hijacked the thread.
Yes, I know the dates. And in fact mentioned that in my post.
Terrence, I am sorry if I offended you and please do not include yourself in the "we all" that knows what they were talking about.
And Terrence, I am also sorry I only had the same iPhoto problem today and not in January.
Terrence, have a nice day.

My iphoto on the dash board has a white circle with a white line going across the circle, covering iphoto. Yesterday by accident I loaded ilife instead of iwork. I can't open iphoto it says it is either damaged or not complete. Thanks Jeanne
Did you start to load iLife then stop? See this thread. https://discussions.apple.com/message/15807018#1580701

My iPhoto app will not complete the installation of an update.
Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Power off the router and then power it back on
- Reset network settings: Settings>General>reset>Reset Network Settings. You will have to rejoin all networks -
Iphoto will not open, gives message damaged or not complet
I already tryed comment and options, but the Iphoto still nog opened.
greetings JoyskeHi Terence. I solved my problem. Apparently a 9.5.1 version of iPhoto was dowloaded, backed up on Ext Drive then deleted from the Mac HD...Leaving the old version 9.4.3 still resident on the Mac HD.
Thanks for responding. -
IPhoto upgrade problem not completing
I ran IPhoto 11 last night and it came up with a box saying need to upgrade. It showed steps from 1 to 9 and I let it run for more than 12 hours and it was still showing the spinning segmented wheel after completing 100%. I have forced kill it earlier today now it's stuck at 5 of 9 with 98% complete. My version is 9.2 i think and it's running on an iMac. Any help will do also the file size it 47GB on my external hard drive.
I must say, when I read Hassan69's post, it looks just like my problem. My upgrade is stuck at 94% in process 5 of 9. However, using "command" + "option" on my keyboard when I launch iPhoto doesn't do anything different. The upgrade is already rebuilding the database, so forcing the database to rebuild has the same result. Am I missing anything here?

when ever i'm tring to install an app from the app store i'm getting the following error.
"We could not complete your purchase - The product distribution file could not be verified. It may be damaged or was not signed".
someone plz help me to overcome this.Installing the appropriate combo update may help...
If you are running v10..7 Lion, install the OS X Lion Update 10.7.4 (Client Combo)
For 10.6 Snow Leopard > Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo
Then restart your Mac. Try the App Store.
If that doesn't help, try the following..
Quit the App Store if it's open.
Open the Finder. From the Finder menu bar top of your screen click Go > Go to Folder
Type this exactly as you see it here:
/Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration
Click Go
Move the NetworkInterfaces.plist file from the SystemConfiguration folder to the Trash.
Relaunch the App Store and try downloading Mountain Lion.
You may also need to disable anti virus software and turn off the Firewall in System Preferences > Security (or Security & Privacy) > Firewall -
When I try to purchase Mountain Lion i get an error message: "We could not complete your purchase. The product distribution file could not be verified. It may be damaged or was not signed."
I can purchase other apps, why not Mountain Lion. I get the same message on my wife's IMAC.The only thing that worked for me was to boot in safe mode.
Power down. Then press power button and hold 'shift' key until grey screen with progress bar appears... Once booted and logged in just open safari and browse to applestore.
No trouble at all once I did this.
Hope it helps. -

I tried to re-download Mavericks after an apparent failed attempt and now I get the message "We could not complete your purchase. The product distribution file could not be verified. It may be damaged or was not signed."
Can anybody help?Several causes for this problem have been reported. Please take each of the following steps that you haven't already tried. Stop when it's resolved.
Step 1
Back up all data.
From the menu bar, select
▹ System Preferences... ▹ Network
If the preference pane is locked, click the lock icon in the lower left corner and enter your password to unlock it. Then click the Advanced button and select the Proxies tab. If any proxy options are selected, make a note of them and then deselect them. You don’t need to change the bypass or FTP settings. Click OK and then Apply. Test. The result may be that you can't connect to any web server. Restore the previous settings if that happens.
Step 2
Rebuild the Spotlight index. If you try to search now from the magnifying-glass icon in the top right corner of the display, there will be an indication that indexing is in progress.
Step 3
Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you boot, and again when you log in.
Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a Fusion Drive or a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal boot may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually login automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, reboot as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test. -
I'm trying to download the new MacOS. I keep getting a dialog that says: "We could not complete your purchase" and then " The product distribution file could not be verified. It may be damaged or was not signed." any ideas?
I went to Purchases and it worked from there having had the same problem you describe.

I tried to download the latest OSX for my iMac - Mountain Lion.
This is the message that I received:
"We could not complete your purchase. The product distribution file could not be verified. It may be damaged or was not signed."
What does this mean? The only thing that worked for me was to boot in safe mode.
Power down. Then press power button and hold 'shift' key until grey screen with progress bar appears... Once booted and logged in just open safari and browse to applestore.
No trouble at all once I did this.
Reminder: create full backup before you upgrade OS
Hope it helps. -
I originally purchased Aperture 3 for my MacBook Air via the App Store. There is now an update available to version 3.2.2.
When I follow the download process to update I get the message:
We could not complete your purchase.
The product distribution file could not be verified. It may be damaged or was not signed.
There are other discussions advising deleting the App Store then downloading the Snow Leopard 10.6.6 combo update to resolve this problem but my MBA is running Lion 10.7.x (as supplied, not upgraded).
I have two questions:
1. If I try to delete the App Store (by dragging it to the Trash) I get a message telling me is cannot be modified or deleted as it is part of the OS. So how would I proceed if downloading the 10.6.6 update is necessary?
2. Is it OK to download and install an update for an earlier version of OSX as I would be doing if I followed the suggested resolution?
From browsing the support discussions this seems to be a common problem for OSX 10.7 Lion users. I would expect a resolution via Software Update but all Software Updates are up to date on my MBA.Donald...
So how would I proceed if downloading the 10.6.6 update is necessary?
That won't work since you are running v10.7
Is it OK to download and install an update for an earlier version of OSX as I would be doing if I followed the suggested resolution?
No.
Since you are running Lion you can use Lion Recovery to reinstall the App Store app.
