IPhoto deleted facebook albums also deleted iPhoto albums.

I hope someone can help me out.
I started up iPhoto after deleting a lot of pictures from Facebook. It stated something like do you want to import the pictures from facebook albums? I was like no because they are already on my iMac but not it seems they are gone.
Is there any way to fix this? I have a time machine back-up but it happened about a month ago.
Thank you in advance.

As documented iPhoto syncs with FB so changes made to photos uploaded from IP to FB in either place are reflected in the other - deleting from FB also deletes from that album in iPhoto

  • If I delete photos in "iPhoto" will those photos also delete in the application "Photos"

Hey guys! I was wondering if I delete photos in "iPhoto" will those photos also delete in the new application "Photos".
I transfered all my photos to "Photos" the second it came out, so I'd find it strange if I still needed "iPhoto"
    Thanks a lot!

No, they will not be deleted from Photos. The two libraries are totally independent of each other.
YEs, you can now delete the iPhoto Library, but if you want yo do this to gain disk space, you won't see much of a difference. Reason being that both Libraries merely point to the same image files on your disk via hard links.
For now, I would suggest moving the iPhoto Library to an external disk "just in case."

  • Business emails in Inbox deleted on Iphone also delete from Outlook Inbox on Computer

There are numerous discussions regarding the deletion of emails from Outlook on the computer when they are deleted from the iphone, mine being a 4s.  I have two email accounts set up on my iphone.  One setup in Other for my personal domain email account and the other is setup through Exchange for my business email that interacts with my Server.  True there is an Advanced setting for my personal email account but there is not an Advanced setting for my business email.  I have tried setting the Synch setting for my business email account on the iphone to 2 weeks.  Unfortunately the Push setting defaults to the Inbox and you cannot uncheck Inbox on the iphone.
There is no setting for my business email to tell it not to delete from the iphone.  I have actually had my iphone next to me deleted the email from my business Inbox on my iphone and watched it also delete from my Inbox in Outlook on the computer.
What do we do to stop business emails from being deleted in the Outlook Inbox when deleting them from the iphone?  Please advise of the correct settings and how to get to it when there is a business email set up on the iphone that is on an Exchange Server that when the email in the inbox on the iphone is deleted that it doesn't delete from the Inbox in Outlook on the computer.
    Thanks.

It is possible with a Blackberry due to RIM's dedicated email delivery service. The Blackberry's email client does not communicate direct with the Exchange Server with an Exchange account or direct with the incoming mail server with any email account.
It is not possible with an email client that communicates direct with the Exchange Server such as with the iPhone's email client, with the Android email client, and with the Windows mobile email client. This is possible with the Blackberry's email client and dedicated email delivery service only which is going out of business unless RIM ends up being purchased by another company.

  • Ooops, deleted mail account also deleted all mails - can I recover them?

    Hi there,
I deleted a mail account and now all the emails from the Inbox have been deleted as well (bummer). Does anyone have any idea if they can be recovered and how?
    Help would greatly be appreciated
    Thanks
    Andreas

There should be separate directories inside ~/Library/Mail for each account. Something like this, for example:
    [email protected]
    [email protected]
    [email protected]
    Mac-username
There should also be a ~/Library/Mail/Mailboxes directory that houses any "On My Mac" mailboxes.

  • Deleting an email also deletes the body of the email above it in group mailbox

    Hi,
One of our clients is having a strange issue with a group mailbox. If you delete "Email 2" in the inbox, then the contents of the body of "Email 1" above it is deleted aswell, "Email 1" remains in the inbox. Problem occurs using
Outlook and OWA, mail server is SBS11.
Anyone come across this issue before or know of a fix?
    Thanks.

    Hi Sean,
    à
If you delete "Email 2" in the inbox, then the contents of the body of "Email 1" above it is deleted aswell, "Email 1" remains in the inbox.
I’m a little confused with this issue. Would you please provide more details of it? May help me to understand
this issue clearly. Thanks for your understanding.
On current situation, would you please let me confirm whether only one user encounter this issue? Please check

  • Are deleted images also deleted from books?

I need to archive some of my images since iPhoto performance is going down the tubes. I have about 6,000 images with a Library of about 8GB.
If I archive some of my rolls from 2003, 2003 and 2004 by burning to disk, and then deleting those rolls from the iPhoto Library, will it also delete the images from the created books that use images from those rolls?
I did a quick test by creating a book using test images and then deleting those images from the Library. The book appears to stay intact but I'm not sure if I will still be able to re-order the specific books and/or edit and re-order.
Can anyone confirm that the books stay intact even though the original images have been deleted from the main iPhot Library?
    Thanks.

-You can archive the older photos but just don't delete the images that you have in your books
-Another solution is to create a library for each book. the library would only include the images that are in the book. Burn that Library folder in the Finder and your book and data for the book will be saved.
When you want to order the book in the future you would copy that library from the disc to your HD. Launch iPhoto while depressing the Option key and choose to open another library. Navigate to your book library and choose it. You can then choose to buy your book. When you are done, you can delete the book library you copied to the desktop.
-If you don't want to create a new library to recreate your book, you can go about it a round about way working backwards. You need some room on your HD for this.
Duplicate your library in the finder. Launch iPhoto with the Option key depressed and open the duplicate library. Delete every image in the library that is not in your book. Empty iPhoto's trash (do this every 100 images or so)
Make sure iPhoto's trash is empty before you burn that library in the Finder
Now burn that iPhoto Library folder in the Finder. Don't forget to name that library something like "Family book Library"

  • Iphoto deleted facebook albums

I deleted some albums from the iPhoto app without realising that they were synchronized to my Facebook acc. in the process i lost 16 albums. 7 years of memories and i have no back up. please help me recover these pictures urgently

Then, as you have no back up, you're into file recovery software, which is not cheap. An app like File Salvage will scan your disk for you and tell you with might be recoverable. Actual recovery will require that you purchase the app. There may be many files with the same or similar names. Always recover the largest file size.
There are other such apps. Search on Macupdate or the App Store

  • I deleted my albums from Facebook while cleaning my iPhoto archive.. Does anyone know if i can get them back and how? thanks!

i deleted my albums from Facebook while cleaning my iPhoto archive.. Does anyone know if i can get them back and how? thanks!

    while cleaning my iPhoto archive
What do you mean by that?  Do you mean you deleted photos or albums from your iPhoto Library?
You best solution is to use Time Machine to restore your library from just before you "cleaned your iPhoto archive".

  • Please help needed os x lion I wish to transfer photos from the iPhoto library to a album or folder then delete them from the Library but when I do this it also deletes them from the album ? how do I do this please.

Please help needed os x lion I wish to transfer photos from the iPhoto library to a album or folder then delete them from the Library but when I do this it also deletes them from the album ? how do I do this please.

Albums are not places to store photos, they're more like "labels" you can apply to photos to better organize them. A single image file can be in multiple albums... they are not copies, it's simply been labelled as being in all those albums. So what you're trying to do doesn't make sense, because it's based on incorrect assumptions.
The iPhoto library will always show all photos that you have added to iPhoto.

  • IPhoto '08: If I delete a photo in the photo library it also deletes it from the album it's in. Why?

iPhoto '08: If I delete a photo in the photo library it also deletes it from the album it's in. Why? How do I stop that?

    1. Forget your goal. There is no way to have a Photo in iPhoto that's not in the Library. Can't be done. Impossible.
    2. Events are the Library. They are a view of the photos in the Library based on date taken, that's all. Every photo in iPhoto is in the Library, and as Events are also a view of the Library, every photo is in an Event. So, you can't "take a library photo and put it in an Event". It's already in an Event.
    3. I'm guessing that what you are calling the Library is the Photos view? That's the Library viewed not broken up by dates. But Photos and Events are two views of the same thing - two doors into the same room, as it were.

  • IPhoto deletes Facebook Albums- WHY?  And how to stop it.

I have seen some posts on this issue, but haven't seen any recent responses.
I was on iPhoto and clicked to share something on FB.  As soon as I did I got a notice that a totally unrelated album was deleted from FB.  This is now 3 albums that have been deleted from FB but the photos are still in my iPhoto library.  They also show up as FB albums on iPhoto, but the albums now contain no photos.
I see this has happened to others but have seen no resolution to restore them or to determine what the issue is.  Any new ideas?

See if the following help. Try clearing Safari's cache : Settings > Safari > Clear Cookies And Data and also Clear History
If that doesn't work then try closing Safari completely and then re-open it : from the home screen (i.e. not with Safari 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Safari app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
A third option is a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.
Turning off iCloud and multitasking gestures on the iPad might also help.

  • 'iPhoto quit unexpectedly' repeats after I force quit the program while deleting Facebook album?

I force quit iPhoto while it was deleting Facebook album with it. Since then, I CANNOT open iPhoto. It keeps saying 'iPhoto quit unexpectedly' after few seconds I open it. Any suggestions on what to do?

Try, if rebuilding your iPhto library will help:
See this post by Old Toad on how to do it, assuming you are using iPhoto '11:
    Rebuild iPhoto Version 11

  • Iphoto has just deleted the contents of the last album i uploaded by unexpectedly closing whilst viewing photos. It is also refusing to recognise "flagged" photos. any ideas?

iphoto has just deleted the contents of the last album i uploaded by unexpectedly closing whilst viewing photos. It is also refusing to recognise "flagged" photos. any ideas?

    Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Repair Database. If that doesn't help, then try again, this time using Rebuild Database.
    If that fails:
    Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In early versions of Library Manager it's the File -> Rebuild command. In later versions it's under the Library menu.)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

Apple's Icloud with Yosemite and IOS8 on devices is suppose to do just that - synchronize between devices so when you get home the pictures you took with our devices will magically be on you primary computer.
You may also want to look into other "clouds" available -- including clouds you can set up yourself (WD offers make your own cloud - haven't looked into it as don't need it)
Thanks for the constructive feedback! iCloud sync generally works well, though I believe it's time-limited-- You'll have to import them to your library from the iCloud sync to make it "permanent" within a few months.  I'm also using CloudStation on my Synology NAS, and I use Dropbox on all my computers although not for photos, because I'm still using their free account. Keeping iPhoto libraries up to date is not generally an issue.  Though I admit 2 of my 3 computers are on Yosemite and I am using iOS 8, I haven't specifically explored the differences in iCloud behavior on the new versions.
The deleting comment is more around temporarily storing them in one iPhoto library, uploading to Facebook, then deleting from iPhoto without deleting from FB -- it's not so much about how to transfer the photos around.  It's pretty easy to shoot 15 or 20GB of photos in a day with a modern camera, and you might find yourself without an internet connection, or at the very least, too spotty to copy that much data overnight.
For example, on a recent trip, my workflow was to load photos from my RX-100 via SD card into my MacBook Air which only has 128GB of storage.
So I'd copy all photos to iPhoto, flag favorites, edit, add to FB album in iPhoto, let that upload, then export to disk, let that sync to my CloudStation folder back on my NAS at home in the US, then finally delete all un-flagged photos in iPhoto (the "rejects"). By the end of the trip, even the 15GB of all of the flagged, edited photos took up too much space (in addition to all of the originals I was storing on disk), so I deleted the Facebook sync so I that was able to delete them from iPhoto.
Of course, I kept all my originals, but those were in 3 places: SD card, CloudStation folder on my Air, and on my NAS back at home (plus any devices that were powered on and syncing to CloudStation).
This worked great in Iceland where I had 50up/50down internet, but not so great at an agriturismo in Italy where I was getting something like 50% packet loss on their point-to-point wifi internet connection!
When I get home, every single original picture goes onto my master iPhoto library on the Mac Pro at home, but I treat the libraries on my laptops as transient places for editing and uploading, then deleting.  This is not just a multiple-computer problem, though -- I am sure many users just wish to upload then delete, and never keep their originals.
